“Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus, Who, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness; and found human in appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Because of this, God greatly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Thank you for posting this scripture on this blessed day. It is very humbling to give full consideration that Christ died for my sins and what in physical and mental detail he bore for my iniquity. My prayers for forgiveness are and will be with renewed reverence and gratefulness. I feel compassion for Israel in end times when they see his marks of crucifixion. The grief! Pray for them today and all people who have not come to Him.
And to think all these thousands of years have passed, the Lord God Almighty is STILL ON HIS THRONE. And what COMFORT and JOY that brings to my heart and mind.
Thank you, as always, for posting SCRIPTURE to this sometimes salacious but always informative newsletter.
I know the evil in the world is being "permitted"...sometimes it just overwhelms me though.
And so it's called "Good Friday" not sad Friday, or horrific Friday...but why??? Because the God of the Universe, The Mighty One of Israel, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, Lover of my soul and yours... laid down His life and counted it all joy to purchase us back with His Precious Blood. My Redeemer loves me so much, He suffered and died for me so that I could enjoy everlasting life with Him... and THAT is why is called Good Friday!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU JESUS, Lover of my soul!!!
“It is finished!” was Jesus’ victory cry over evil that his human death vanquished. No more does it wield power over us, if we surrender to His command to follow Him and assist in creating heaven on earth.
I read today that “Good” was translated from the word, “Holy”. The Friday of Jesus Crucifixion was considered a “holy” day for centuries. To me, this makes sense, why we would call it Good or Great Friday, instead of Black Friday, which to my modern sensibities would be more appropriate. A “holy” day because Good Friday was only part of what happened. Good Friday was the beginning, Resurrection Sunday was the end, (and the new beginning).
I like Good.... When I was a child, maybe 10 or 11, I thought about Jesus' horrific death on the cross and felt a tremendous sadness. At the same time, I had a strong conviction that it MUST happen that way. There was NO other way. It made for my salvation and yours. For many, many, many people saved. Now, it reminds me of the 6 days of Creation when, at the end of each day, God declares it is Good. The work that He has done for us, it is very Good!!!
I cry when I think about the horrific sacrifice he made for me. To save me from the wrath of God the Father who would never be able to see me as pure, clean and redeemed without the covering of the blood of Jesus. It's a miracle he would ever want me but yet he does.
Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him . . .
As a result of the anguish of His soul,
He will see it and be satisfied;
By His knowledge the Righteous One,
My Servant, will justify the many,
As He will bear their iniquities.
— Isaiah 53:4-6, 11 NASB1995
Blessed Good Friday and joyous Resurrection Day, Jeff and C&C army.
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16.
If not for the worst of Friday’s, we would not have the greatest of Sundays.
“It’s FRIDAY......but SUNDAY’s comin’!!🙌🏻
Amen!
If good, why do I yield to that suggestion
Whose horrid image doth unfix my hair
And make my seated heart knock at my ribs,
Against the use of nature? Present fears
Are less than horrible imaginings.
My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,
Shakes so my single state of man
That function is smothered in surmise,
And nothing is but what is not.

My favorite passage in Scripture explaining the Gospel in poetic perfection.

Wonderful scripture for today and always

Hie me to the Rock that is higher than I!!!

In Greek it is called GREAT Friday!

Just mind-boggling that scripture was written ~600 years before the birth of Jesus.
All because the Lord God of heaven and earth is omniscient and knew the Lamb Who would be sacrificed had to be completely BLAMELESS and SINLESS.
I cry when I think about the horrific sacrifice he made for me. To save me from the wrath of God the Father who would never be able to see me as pure, clean and redeemed without the covering of the blood of Jesus. It's a miracle he would ever want me but yet he does.
Amen amen
Thank you. 🙏
