The contract to install a water purification system was also no-bid and also given to an associate of Trump's. That's swamp behavior. Even if you claim a "hard project deadline" required skirting bidding, it is not plausible to believe that the only or best contractors were Trump associates. I’m not entirely certain that AI is correctly informed. There were strict restrictions on travel/flights to other parts of China (esp. Shanghai), but international flights were not restricted, at least initially. Air traffic friends report many such flights. They also report flights Oct 2019 into Shanghai being met by CCP in full hazmat gear, checking temperatures before they could deplane. China knew long of the lab leak long before it was acknowledged to the world.

I don't believe that either. I have a friend who was traveling on Jan. 1st, 2020, and he changed planes in Hong Kong. He reported that they were announcing the discovery of a new virus on the overhead, in both Chinese and English.
But there was no Hazmat team. True, it wasn't Shanghai, but China took the discovery of the virus very seriously.
