I’d like to know how he found airplanes and pilots to charter.

Well normally you would have to form a committee to discuss the specifications, then you prepare a request for bids, have general counsel look it over, have another committee discuss it, have outside counsel look it over, post a request for bids with a 1 year deadline, then pick the lowest bidder, start the process over because oil price volatility has rendered other bids untenable, then settle all the resulting lawsuits and then once you got the planes you start the same procedure for finding qualified pilots, at which point most of the stranded Americans have died of old age or teleported back home.

Didn’t Jeff write today that FL is using their charter agreements to move illegals to instead retrieve Americans? That’s how DeSantis is doing it so quickly. We will see soon if it works! I hope so!!!

True. It is the required, legal way to do it. Maybe the Florida legislature has appropriated money, a slush fund, for such emergencies.

That's likely, although it was alluded in the article that Florida already had chartered planes to fly migrants to sanctuary cities so perhaps they are just using those.

Don't forget, everyone who wasn't selected can protest for any reason - restarting the entire process!

Also the Feds would want to make sure that a percentage of the pilots are trans or have a minority background (better: both!) - all jabbed of course.

He’s been transporting illegals for months now. The network had already been established. Now, they’re just rerouting ;).

Excellent point. And certainly not acting the Typical State Governor. These days I wonder what and who is behind DeSantis. This is in now way to bash at DeSantis' accomplishments as a governor. But as always, and given the Candidate DeSantis for president, I have to give him careful scrutiny.

No firm conclusions. But I am wondering if The Plan to roll DeSantis out in 2028. And is this not just a trial seasoning operation ahead of the next Guess Who president? And to boot, this would be an excellent way to lay down electoral infrastructure. Too early to say.

I read he had charter contracts ready because he was using them to fly illegals to places like Martha’s Vineyard.
