I’m weary of these nonstop lawsuits, but it seems to be a symptom of society. There is no longer a discussion just the knee jerk reaction is to sue. A common car accident, the parties don’t just exchange insurance information and file an accident report with police, more likely than not it escalates. Lawyers (sorry Jeff) scour accident reports to flood the parties with promises of financial windfall if they will just retain them to file suit.
Please just stop, pick up the phone, schedule a meeting and have a conversation. Get a life and try to be pleasant. We are only here for a short time use it wisely. Leave a legacy not destruction.

My special needs adult daughter receives companion/care giving services through a pilot program the state of Florida just started in the last two years. Hat tip to Florida (DeSantis?) who previously offered nothing but a 25,000 person waitlist for any help. Hmm. Wonder why? That’s a topic for another day….
Fast forward to my conversation with the agency that provides companion/caregivers…..she has lost a client (person with disabilities) due to deportation (deportation word not used….just words like “the administration”and “fear”. The family has apparently disappeared. Because of what “the administration is doing”.
She thought I would be a sympathetic ear. She was wrong.
I applaud the federal govt for finally upholding the law and deporting people here illegally. My heart goes out to the family caring for a special needs adult child - more than words can express. I REALLY REALLY get it. But, our tax dollars are paying for the “help” given to illegal families/people -that it took us- law abiding and tax paying CITIZENS -6 years to get in Florida.
For any who think this is a heartless view….you haven’t walked in our shoes caring for a special needs child/adult without help. I do think that illegal family should have help. They NEED help. From the country they are legally from. If I went to another country illegally and expected them to provide help financial or caregiver…they would laugh me out of their country.
There has to be a balance but the USA isn’t the bad guy here.
God loves those special needs people from other countries. My heart weeps with them and for them. But how many Americans are not receiving help because the illegal people are up at the top of their waitlist while the families paying the tax money get no help. THAT has to stop.
Our family is very thankful for even the little bit of help we do get.
My son waited three long years to get SSDI benefits despite 20 years of full documentation of his disabilities and treatment, AND a current (at that time) neuro-psych eval that concluded he was totally disabled. The state disregarded it all and required their own psychiatrist to evaluate him. So 50 minutes with one man trumped 20 years of specialists. Thankfully their psychiatrist concurred with our records. Still he was denied twice after that. During those three years our state was paying illegals over $3800/mo with ease. The minute Trump took office, a month later my son was finally approved, for 1/3 what illegals are paid. I’m unsure how his election impacted it, but clearly it did and people were scrambling to CYA.
(We are thankful for the 1/3, as any and all help is impactful for him, and we don’t protest for more. Of course he lives with us so we help as much as we can. My heart feels for those with no family to help. They can’t survive on his benefits.)

Sunnydaze, I volunteer annually at a summer camp (kitchen) for severely disabled kids and their families. Like 75 to 150 people per camp. They get 3 days to experience mountains, s’more’s, campfire singing, boat and pony rides. It’s funded 100% by private donors. I stand in awe of the parents who patiently care for these children who are Gods’ precious gifts. This experience reminds me to be grateful for what I have, and fills me with satisfaction for serving others. Who I know (but can’t experience 1st hand) have a much, much tougher day to day than I do. I only get a peek at their struggles while they are on ‘vacation’. I can recollect in my mind from this summer stint, the Down’s child, coming to find her Dad, grabbing his hand and the huge smile on Dad’s face as he looked down, scooped her up and hugged and kissed her face. This images stay with me. And I think it’s God reminding me that every single human life is valued and precious to Him.
As the mother of a delightful and very beloved son with Down syndrome, it sickens me to no end that babies with Down syndrome are among the most aborted.
I grew up with my Mom running daycare and she cared over years for several kids with Downs. This was in 1980’s. We still know those kids now grown up. Before my Mom passed, she would go pick up and drive adults with Downs back and forth to Catholic Mass. I’ve been around these magic humans my whole life and appreciate them very much. I think I am in part a ‘hugger’ because of them ;)
Countries like Iceland make me sick. They no longer have Downs children because prenatal testing detects them and all are aborted.

My husband and I often say we wish we were wealthy because we would do something like that or something to offer families respite of some sort free of charge so they can recharge.
Our daughter is simply the best. She is innocent and kind and compassionate. She is funny and makes us laugh and we can’t imagine life without her. We are better humans because of her. The Lord has been our rock at getting us through this. He has provided in ways no govt agency could do. Fortunately, we don’t rely on govt assistance, but grateful for the help we do get - the companion/caregiver pilot program has been good for HER to gain some independence from me. This life is very hard. Mentally, physically and financially. I wouldn’t wish it on any parents or family.

Camp Prime Time (in Central Washington State) cascades has been going since 1986. Outside of my church, this is who I donate $ to the most every year. It was started by Dad’s of disabled kids who wanted to bring the joy of outdoors to other children like theirs.
My hope is this kind of camp can be replicated in other parts of America. Maybe it already is and I just don’t know of them. I think they are around in many different States.
I hear you about the physical, emotional, and even spiritual toll that caring for a special needs child and adult requires. Camp Prime Time offers a small respite from all that burden. And every family there knows 1st hand the situation of the others. So, meltdowns and outbursts are normal and handled with patience and grace. God bless you.
We are originally from Oregon. Very familiar with the outdoors in the PNW. That is awesome! We were part of a non profit before moving to Florida 6 yrs ago for my husbands job. It provided my daughter with community inclusion and activities with her friends with special needs 5 days a week. It was a huge help and so great for these young adults. Until the state of Oregon started dictating what they could and couldn’t do. What started as a group so they could all hang out with their friends like other young adults do…turned into the state secluding them all to 1:1 with no group activities and no hanging out with their friends. So much so they couldn’t even go the mall and eat lunch together in a group. It made us furious. The non profit still exists but barely hs any participants anymore for what we hear. It’s not what its mission statement was when it started. Thanks for the state of Oregon bureaucrats and politics. Shame on them.

I went to Washington, DC and was embarrassed. Really? The capitol of our country and we can't even make it look habitable? There were homeless people panhandling everywhere, and the trash was piled up.

I agree with some of your sentiment. But disagree that they’re zombies. They fail and can go out of business if they displease customers or shareholders. Government agencies never fail, even when they have clearly demonstrated their incompetence and worthlessness. Only since Trump 2.0 have we seen a government agency defunded and the entire place sent out to pasture.

If you impose a stricter test — agency abolished + essentially everyone terminated + functions not simply moved wholesale into another federal agency — the list becomes extremely short. Most historical “abolitions” of federal agencies were actually reorganizations in which the boxes on the organizational chart disappeared while much of the bureaucracy survived somewhere else.
However, the world is littered with companies who failed and shut down. Government agencies are the zombies. Not private companies. Private companies can suck and have outsized influence with their political speech, agreed. But they’re not the danger.

DOCTORS went along with notions that the flu magically disappeared in 2020 because of a supersmert, clever, powerful supervirus that knocked it out. DOCTORS who should have known better, were *obligated* to know better, were *trusted* to know better, conveniently forgot all they knew.
Because the hierarchical authoritarian structure of the medical profession told them to forget it all. And most ALL DOCTORS complied. That has the audacity to proclaim "sometimes G-d makes a mistake and puts a little boy inside a little girl's body. Because the hierarchical authoritarian structure says so. "Consensus" says G-d makes mistakes. So good little Brack/Eichmann DOCTORS go along with it.
Your profession is dirty, wicked, quackery, murderous and corrupt. Filled with people who may have begun with the best of intentions, to heal, but who were corrupted the moment they stepped into medical school. Why DOCTOR "Young" is iatrocide the third leading cause of death in the US? Why? WHY? Not just Convid years. Pre- and Post-2020. WHY?
I have a pretty good idea why. Medical schools. Where aspiring young, idealistic medical students who get into the field wanting to help are "hazed" into their new roles, status in society. By medical school professors, deans who tell them they either discard their naïve imaginings about what being a doctor truly entails or they're not cut out to be in the field. Which is revealed starkly in the need for legislation like this:

In normal speak, "nonconsensual intimate examinations" is also known as "sexual assault." But sanitized into sterile medical terminology. "Don't judge them!" Says the 'doctor.' "Why, how else will they get trained to do medical procedures involving intimate areas?" Okay, fair point. But only to a point. That point is known as "Consent." Which is the reason for laws to prohibit doctors from sexually assaulting patients while they are unconscious.
When you watch the hearing you'll hear testimony from witnesses who describe how it happens to those young, idealistic wannabe healers. If they raise objections they're told by their deans to toughen up, make hard decisions, that's what being a medical doctor requires. If they can't then they don't belong in the field and they should just quit. When the students object and ask why they don't just ask patients if they'll consent to be trained on they are told, explicitly, "Because they might say, "no." They might not consent. So they don't even bother asking, just do it. For a "greater good." Utilitarian ethics. The ethics system of allopathic medicine.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, life dreams and aspirations at a pivotal moment, 98% make the negotiation with their morals and rationalize, justify sexually assaulting unconscious patients. "For a greater good." Utilitarian ethics supersedes their moral ethical compass.
So what happens when legislation like this is attempted in states like Massachusetts? It dies. Even when the committee members who heard the testimony are appalled at what they heard, disgusted to learn it is happening in their hospitals the legislation dies. Because leadership that gets ALL those donations from DOCTORS isn't going to do a damn thing about it.

My special needs adult daughter receives companion/care giving services through a pilot program the state of Florida just started in the last two years. Hat tip to Florida (DeSantis?) who previously offered nothing but a 25,000 person waitlist for any help. Hmm. Wonder why? That’s a topic for another day….
Fast forward to my conversation with the agency that provides companion/caregivers…..she has lost a client (person with disabilities) due to deportation (deportation word not used….just words like “the administration”and “fear”. The family has apparently disappeared. Because of what “the administration is doing”.
She thought I would be a sympathetic ear. She was wrong.
I applaud the federal govt for finally upholding the law and deporting people here illegally. My heart goes out to the family caring for a special needs adult child - more than words can express. I REALLY REALLY get it. But, our tax dollars are paying for the “help” given to illegal families/people -that it took us- law abiding and tax paying CITIZENS -6 years to get in Florida.
For any who think this is a heartless view….you haven’t walked in our shoes caring for a special needs child/adult without help. I do think that illegal family should have help. They NEED help. From the country they are legally from. If I went to another country illegally and expected them to provide help financial or caregiver…they would laugh me out of their country.
There has to be a balance but the USA isn’t the bad guy here.
God loves those special needs people from other countries. My heart weeps with them and for them. But how many Americans are not receiving help because the illegal people are up at the top of their waitlist while the families paying the tax money get no help. THAT has to stop.
Our family is very thankful for even the little bit of help we do get.
My son waited three long years to get SSDI benefits despite 20 years of full documentation of his disabilities and treatment, AND a current (at that time) neuro-psych eval that concluded he was totally disabled. The state disregarded it all and required their own psychiatrist to evaluate him. So 50 minutes with one man trumped 20 years of specialists. Thankfully their psychiatrist concurred with our records. Still he was denied twice after that. During those three years our state was paying illegals over $3800/mo with ease. The minute Trump took office, a month later my son was finally approved, for 1/3 what illegals are paid. I’m unsure how his election impacted it, but clearly it did and people were scrambling to CYA.
(We are thankful for the 1/3, as any and all help is impactful for him, and we don’t protest for more. Of course he lives with us so we help as much as we can. My heart feels for those with no family to help. They can’t survive on his benefits.)

Sunnydaze, I volunteer annually at a summer camp (kitchen) for severely disabled kids and their families. Like 75 to 150 people per camp. They get 3 days to experience mountains, s’more’s, campfire singing, boat and pony rides. It’s funded 100% by private donors. I stand in awe of the parents who patiently care for these children who are Gods’ precious gifts. This experience reminds me to be grateful for what I have, and fills me with satisfaction for serving others. Who I know (but can’t experience 1st hand) have a much, much tougher day to day than I do. I only get a peek at their struggles while they are on ‘vacation’. I can recollect in my mind from this summer stint, the Down’s child, coming to find her Dad, grabbing his hand and the huge smile on Dad’s face as he looked down, scooped her up and hugged and kissed her face. This images stay with me. And I think it’s God reminding me that every single human life is valued and precious to Him.
As the mother of a delightful and very beloved son with Down syndrome, it sickens me to no end that babies with Down syndrome are among the most aborted.
I grew up with my Mom running daycare and she cared over years for several kids with Downs. This was in 1980’s. We still know those kids now grown up. Before my Mom passed, she would go pick up and drive adults with Downs back and forth to Catholic Mass. I’ve been around these magic humans my whole life and appreciate them very much. I think I am in part a ‘hugger’ because of them ;)
Countries like Iceland make me sick. They no longer have Downs children because prenatal testing detects them and all are aborted.

My husband and I often say we wish we were wealthy because we would do something like that or something to offer families respite of some sort free of charge so they can recharge.
Our daughter is simply the best. She is innocent and kind and compassionate. She is funny and makes us laugh and we can’t imagine life without her. We are better humans because of her. The Lord has been our rock at getting us through this. He has provided in ways no govt agency could do. Fortunately, we don’t rely on govt assistance, but grateful for the help we do get - the companion/caregiver pilot program has been good for HER to gain some independence from me. This life is very hard. Mentally, physically and financially. I wouldn’t wish it on any parents or family.

Camp Prime Time (in Central Washington State) cascades has been going since 1986. Outside of my church, this is who I donate $ to the most every year. It was started by Dad’s of disabled kids who wanted to bring the joy of outdoors to other children like theirs.
My hope is this kind of camp can be replicated in other parts of America. Maybe it already is and I just don’t know of them. I think they are around in many different States.
I hear you about the physical, emotional, and even spiritual toll that caring for a special needs child and adult requires. Camp Prime Time offers a small respite from all that burden. And every family there knows 1st hand the situation of the others. So, meltdowns and outbursts are normal and handled with patience and grace. God bless you.

We are originally from Oregon. Very familiar with the outdoors in the PNW. That is awesome! We were part of a non profit before moving to Florida 6 yrs ago for my husbands job. It provided my daughter with community inclusion and activities with her friends with special needs 5 days a week. It was a huge help and so great for these young adults. Until the state of Oregon started dictating what they could and couldn’t do. What started as a group so they could all hang out with their friends like other young adults do…turned into the state secluding them all to 1:1 with no group activities and no hanging out with their friends. So much so they couldn’t even go the mall and eat lunch together in a group. It made us furious. The non profit still exists but barely hs any participants anymore for what we hear. It’s not what its mission statement was when it started. Thanks for the state of Oregon bureaucrats and politics. Shame on them.

It never occurred to me that what this devastated wasteland needed was an arch, though. I was thinking more of housing to tuck away the homeless. Perhaps some trash collectors to pick up trash, or maybe teach the residents to use the trash cans.

Those designated for extermination were transferred to one of 28 facilities, among them several of Germany's oldest and most respected hospitals, where they were housed in specially designated killing wards. The methods of killing at the institutions varied. In some instances, children were simply starved to death, which was not considered ideal because it took too long. However, starvation did allow these murders less chance of detection. Other methods included allowing children to die of exposure in the cold German winters by turning off all heat in the institution. At several asylums, children perished after being administered chemical warfare agents. A more grisly approach involved a method reserved for children who were resistant to other poisons or, because of their disability, were unable to swallow the poison in pill form: fatal injections directly into the heart. The most popular lethal drug was Luminal, a barbiturate, closely followed by morphine for children resistant to the Luminal. These were usually administered in pill or liquid form. The genius of this form of homicide was the normally expected availability of these medications in hospitals. Also, some poisons killed indirectly over short periods of time by precipitating fatal medical complications that were then reported as natural causes of death. There is evidence that physicians exchanged information about the efficacy of various medications when they visited each other's institutions or met at the Reich Ministry of Health in Berlin.

The murder of the children also followed a particular administrative and logistical course. As the condition of the child deteriorated following the fatal dose, the parents would be informed that their child was seriously ill, with a quick follow-up via a standardized letter announcing the child's death before parents could arrange to visit their sick child. This letter always noted that the child had died suddenly and unexpectedly of one of a number of diseases. Popular choices included brain edema and appendicitis. The favorite cause of death, however, proved to be communicable disease, which necessitated immediate cremation to avoid the danger of an institutional epidemic.

In this action, patients from several asylums were rounded up, taken to nearby woods, and individually shot in the back of the head. Between 1939 and 1944, almost 13,000 Polish psychiatric patients were killed in this way. The logistical necessities involved in killing large numbers of asylum inmates were also problematic within Germany itself.

Yup, same thing as battered woman syndrome. Regain trust? What trust? I never trusted them, which was a good place to be for a senior in 2020-2021. The best, most effective deceivers are those we are inclined to think of as being on out team. We let our guard down for them, too easily. And they know it.

I agree that there were good doctors during Covid. God bless those that were. They were absolutely heroic. But most doctors in our country were not in that category. A lot of the doctor bashing, I hate to say, is well deserved. And the same with hospitals.

In normal speak, "nonconsensual intimate examinations" is also known as "sexual assault." But sanitized into sterile medical terminology. "Don't judge them!" Says the 'doctor.' "Why, how else will they get trained to do medical procedures involving intimate areas?" Okay, fair point. But only to a point. That point is known as "Consent." Which is the reason for laws to prohibit doctors from sexually assaulting patients while they are unconscious.
When you watch the hearing you'll hear testimony from witnesses who describe how it happens to those young, idealistic wannabe healers. If they raise objections they're told by their deans to toughen up, make hard decisions, that's what being a medical doctor requires. If they can't then they don't belong in the field and they should just quit. When the students object and ask why they don't just ask patients if they'll consent to be trained on they are told, explicitly, "Because they might say, "no." They might not consent. So they don't even bother asking, just do it. For a "greater good." Utilitarian ethics. The ethics system of allopathic medicine.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, life dreams and aspirations at a pivotal moment, 98% make the negotiation with their morals and rationalize, justify sexually assaulting unconscious patients. "For a greater good." Utilitarian ethics supersedes their moral ethical compass.
So what happens when legislation like this is attempted in states like Massachusetts? It dies. Even when the committee members who heard the testimony are appalled at what they heard, disgusted to learn it is happening in their hospitals the legislation dies. Because leadership that gets ALL those donations from DOCTORS isn't going to do a damn thing about it.

The few who step outside of the medical system and practice on the periphery with their freedom and integrity intact I have great respect for. But they are the few. Not the many. One can always find exceptions to anything bad. The rule applies. The FEW doctors who weren't duped, who did try to help were brave and heroic. Hell, I took one job at 18 years old in the summer of 1969 on top of the Coke Ovens at Bethlehem Steel that almost burned me up. Literally.
We were not coddled as kids by our parents and eager to start working. I took my first part time job at 14.
$1.40 an hour doing mostly manual labor.
Hear that kids. And no air-conditioning.
I know parents want to give their kids everything they can, but in so doing they can easily omit the really important life lessons that turn children into thoughtful productive adults.
Even though our politicians failed to see the much larger problems they were creating, it is with a strong sense of pride that I wish to acknowledge President Trump and all of the professionals in his administration, for the policies they have undertaken with a vengeance.
Policies perhaps not popular with everyone, but extremely necessary if our nation and the wider world around us, is to live and work together towards prosperity.
