Yes, Sound of Freedom was great! I saw it yesterday with my family, and while it's a hard subject to cover in only a 2-hour movie, they did a great job at showing the emotional trauma of child trafficking. I highly recommend you go see it if you can!!

Roman,

It was well worth seeing.

Human trafficking is a $150 BILLION a year industry that will soon surpass the illegal drug trade. More than 50 million people are trafficked every year, including child sex trafficking. Let that sink in….

There are more people illegally enslaved today than when slavery was legal.

The United States has the most sex trafficking in the world because we have the most DEMAND. We are a very sick country. We may never be able to stop the demand, but we can help stop the supply.

We need to open our eyes to the reality of child sex and human trafficking. The only way to start is acknowledging and understanding we have a huge problem that needs to be solved. Please see the movie “Sound of Freedom”.

“God’s children are NOT for sale”.

Excellent summary! I had the same takeaways. I am blown away by those facts. You're right, we are a very sick country indeed! I only disagree with one part - we should stop the supply, but also seek to eliminate the demand. This is a very sick disease these people are suffering from. We need to find a cure, but in the meantime severely increase punishment for these crimes. Florida is on the right track with the death penalty (good job DeSantis!). We should make that law in all 50 states and also fast track the death penalty so they don't sit around in jail for years on appeals.

Truth - because it's not about sex, it's about having control over another person, especially an innocent one. Those who molest children actually could have sex with another adult, but they enjoy destroying innocents.

VRand's avatar

Radical feminists invented the idea that rape was not about sex, only about power. This is only half true. Rape is definitely about the forceful act of sex on a subdued human being, which requires physical power and a deranged mind. Similarly, pedophilia is also about satisfying a sexual urge with children using physical and mental power tricks to achieve an immoral and cruel act.

I've always been amazed anyone would buy the "it's not about sex" narrative. I mean, they are literally forcing someone to have sex. Not to bow down and kiss their feet. Or wear certain clothes or say certain words (like our gov't does). It's literally about acting on a sexual attraction that can't be fulfilled by legal means. And yet the feminists tried to say it has nothing to do with sex. Mind boggling.

I am not spewing a narrative, I am speaking from my own experience. Kindly see the earlier comment made in response to LW.

FourWinds's avatar

I'm definitely not a feminist in the least; in fact, probably the furthest thing from it. I can only speak from my experience as an incest survivor. The man who molested me had plenty of sexual partners, but he enjoyed having power over others to an extreme. My primary abuse was from ages 3-9. I am not getting into details, but there was a hell of a lot he did to mentally torture myself and other children that I remember. Maybe I'm wrong about other perps, but this one enjoyed the power trip. It took me years to come to terms with that fact. Rape alone would have been easier than the mind job he did. This is only my experience and am not saying this for sympathy, but rather to explain my position.

I think you are right... about five years ago I had this dream... I know, it's just a dream but it felt so real. I was running through a field unsure of which direction to turn and there were others running in a confused panic. I thought, "I must tell my family what is happening" and I stopped and looked up into the sky. There was a massive billowing fire, it looked like the ocean rolling in successive waves across the sky, igniting and consuming the atmosphere as it increased in size. Then a voice said, "It's too late" and I woke up. Most likely all symbolic and I have thought in retrospect that it was a warning about the plandemic. When the convid hit the airwaves I never panicked and it didn't take me but a few weeks to figure out it was all a big fat lie. I think humanity absolutely must play their part and realize that we are so much more than this body, than this singular existence. We have to stop thinking small - we are not small. The spiritual realm depends us, the earth depends on us - to evolve spiritually. That's how we win this thing.

Dick's avatar

A refining fire. The Bible speaks of being reborn, made alive by His Spirit, the Spirit of Christ the living God. But I can find nothing about evolving spirits. From dead to alive. A Newness of life.

Not from alive to evolved. Is this another gospel?

Expand full comment
Banjocat's avatar

That's a great question. My sense is it is not a new gospel I speak of - but the gospel as it truly was before all the changes occurred through writ of church councils over the centuries. We are meant to rediscover the Truth in its totality; to expand or evolve our understanding of the Christ and in so doing come to understand who we really are, why we are here, and what it is we are supposed to do. Certainly, we are not here to be slaves, fight wars for the locust class, or make a lot of money and then die.

We have been nurtured by materialistic religious dogma's to this point in time and given the state of this age we are clearly entering a new age of adjustment that is always accompanied by unbelievable tumult and suffering (this started in earnest at the turn of the 20th century). The woes of this world can not be corrected through litigation and bloody wars. Time to think vertically instead of horizontally if we are going to win the war over our very souls. I have a long way to go in understanding this life but I am going to give it my best effort for as long as He gives me the breath to continue.

Expand full comment
Dick's avatar

Well, I wish you well. I know that some church’s teachings emphasize the material, but the humble, God honoring people—and many churches do not believe or teach that. We see that error — as wolves in sheep’s clothing, but not representing Truth or sound, Biblically-derived doctrine. So, I agree with you on what is good and pure, but regard that blanket belief about dogmas as not representative, tho’ many lay hold of it to discredit historic Christianity.

True (Historic, believing) Christians do think less horizontally than vertically. We look to Christ for now and eternity (upward), but live in the world so outward, (vertically) to family, neighbors and strangers. All with love and grace and forgiveness (tho’ imperfect ‘cos it’s us)

That’s the human version of what God gave & gives — perfectly — to us.

I love God; He loved me first. I love His love and loving care for me, even through the most dreadful times — suffering & death & fear heartbreak. When I’m weakest, He carries me, at the lowest times, delivering small and wondrous loveliness as signs. Through Him & through Hs Bible, I discern between wrong and right and know the whys of it.

I know Justice and Mercy, Wisdom and Goodness — not natural understanding in me (I know me all too well) and I often fall short, gratefull for the forgiveness and access to the Father that Jesus won and bequeaths to me. This is not religion or dogma of a church. It’s simple Faith.

So that’s it. But our conversation could go on and on, couldn’t it?

Thank you for such a kind and sincere reply. I’m really glad you’re here and in the fight of all time, friend!

May God Truly Bless and keep you!

But I rather like Jesus' words on the subject: better to hang a millstone round their perverted necks and send them to sea for a short vertical swim. Society would benefit from the cleansing, and the fish would benefit as well. Soon enough such activity would cease, as eitehr the entire population of such operatives would be done away with, and/or the likelihood of a putative perpetrator being dissuaded by the likely consequences of his actions would pose a strong deterrent to such activity.

Please let’s stop labeling pedophilia an illness or disease. Let’s return to what such degrading human actions were considered in the past, before Freudians and newfangled psychiatrists and psychologists medicalized them and thus placed them beyond the moral sphere. There’s a reason why pedophilia has been considered to be a severe moral corruption, widely punished legally, socially, and religiously. Every pedophiliac act is done willfully and consciously. The thought precedes the act, not the other way around. It is, therefore, a moral sin, not a medical condition beyond the fault of the “sufferer”.

The film is supposedly based on a true story. No such true story. Kidnapping and trafficking happens. Tim Ballard has not rescued one child. Film was ready for release in 2018. Delayed due to investigation by Utah AG.

True, but even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

I don't follow Fox News but I do get people sending me things from there, and they are usually pretty decent at including links to source documents. If not, I look for them on my own. Actually, mostly the same with any news article. If they don't include links to the sources they are either corrupt or lazy. And it's why I don't like videos, very rare that the speakers have any footnotes linking to where they got their info. I had 3 people send me videos this weekend about the Brunson case being in the SC. The SC went into recess on Thursday, yet these people in the videos (from confidential insider sources, lol) talking about a SC announcement on the case coming on July 4. SMDH. Some on the right are just as gullible as some on the left. They refused to believe me when I said Brunson was dead as a doornail, even when I shared the link to the SC docket on the case. July 4 has come and gone and I have resisted the urge to 'circle back' and ask then where the announcement is....

From the silly, medically impossible and debunked QAnon belief of “adrenochroming” which Jim Caviezel claimed he was shown evidence by Tim Ballard, to outrageous statistics and figures used by Ballard that has drawn criticism from law enforcement, criminologists and legitimate human trafficking experts."

Here in principle is the stand Apostle Paul takes on a similar issue.

“According to Philippians 1:15-18, it is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.

The latter do so out of love, knowing that the author is put here for the defense of the gospel.

The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, supposing that they can stir up trouble for the author while he is in chains. However, the important thing is that Christ is preached in every way, whether from false motives or true motives.

So then regardless of your claim the fact that this movie is available and as a result many people are becoming aware of something our own government refuses to acknowledge or seriously address.

Okee-dokee, Gram. I’ve dutifully copied and pasted your links to my notes and will earnestly set to reading them in time. Thank you.

Just an observational note here, though. Upon cursory perusal, a few do jump out. These are ‘The Atlantic’ and ‘Fox 13’. Both are notorious Mockingbird Media purveyors of TPTB opinion. — ‘The Atlantic’ being the more sophisticated but by no means superior. That’s one of my favorite go-tos for why my sister always sounds so intelligent and wrong about everything. Explains it all. ‘Fox 13’ (like ‘Fox 2-12 and 14-insert # here) is one of those spouting the 4am talking points handed by TPTB to all the MSM “news“ shows. Wouldn’t trust either of them if I were you.

Not familiar with the ‘American Crime Journal’, but it certainly seems to be high on your reading list.

Incidentally, missing on this list are two more of my favorite go-tos to explain-my-sister’s (and other intelligentsia/elite wanna-be-er’s) ignorance: NPR and Huff-Post. They’re GREAT for checking out what’s propagandizing once-intelligent people.

You may want to check them out, too.

Well, I expect everyone has moved on. Hoping so anyway!

I would wish, Gram, to your critical thinking be added discernment. Check ALL your sites by taking a topic you know really well and see what they have to say about that. It sniffs out where they’re at pretty quick. A decent litmus test, but not perfect. Discernment.

Outstanding interview with Jordan Peterson, Tim Ballard and Jim Caviezel... https://youtu.be/rTBGNEliczc

Thanks, I've saved to listen later, need to get to work. But in all this argument on the comments today re: Ballard and Caviezel, I have not looked into either of these 2 men to know if they are credible or not. (although I have to say Ballard does kind of remind me of Eric Greitens who used his non-profit to make a political name for himself, including using the donor list to raise campaign funds and who constantly cried 'witch hunt' whenever he was investigated). However, I do have a ton of respect for Jordan Peterson, one of the few I do trust these days.

I just look at which people and entities are attacking this movie and that tells me a lot.

I'm trying to follow all the fighting above saying Ballard is a conman and one thing I am confused on...so if he's a grifter, are they saying that story about him dropping his pension and going on a hunt to rescue this girl in the bowels of Colombia is all fake? Because I can't imagine any conman putting themselves in that much danger. He could've been killed like 100 different ways, and he has small kids himself to think about. The only thing I can think of that would compel a man to put himself at that much risk is a calling from Christ.

I just don’t see any real evidence for the claim. A bunch of links to articles by MSM organizations and one other site, as well as vague references to investigations by a state AG (which could lend credence but it depends on the AG and their motivations, certainly if for example, Leticia James is investigating something, I’m suspicious about why). Also claims the poster did their own research but no facts I can see to back up what they supposedly found.

I listened to all of this interview yesterday! It is excellent! There is much background information on Ballard and how he became involved in rescuing children from this horror. He also shares about other raids and the number of children rescued. Also revealed is another movie that dramatizes two other segments of the raid that is shown in Sound of Freedom. You will not be disappointed!

My friend and I are going to see Sound of Freedom this Saturday - it's been many years in the making and almost did not get shown at all. Thanks to a group called Angel Studios (based in Utah--it is a Mormon corporation, BTW)...the film will finally be shown across the country. May it glean new and positive action to STEM THE TIDE of this most despicable "slavery trade" of all.

Of course they do! Of course! This is pretty well-known. But your statement. does not follow; it’s not a reply!

Try to set all that aside for one minute. Take off your “but, but they’re BAD!” hat, set it aside. OK. Now, can a film help to alert and alarm anyone who still possesses a working conscience — of ANY persuasion — to this MASSIVE HORROR of UNSPEAKABLE CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN? Can it do that? If so, it’s better that it be seen than that you succeed at discouraging it from being seen, just so money and credit won’t go to one that you & others think is dishonest.

Please engage with what’s at stake here, ok Gram? Drop that bone. Drop it.

Don’t go see the movie, Gram. Fine! But DO engage with what the movie is about!

Ok?

I am going tonight. Woo! I am taking a friend who, during a card game, revealed she knew nothing of what is going on with human trafficking in America. She doesn't regard what is happening as "trafficking" or as a result of our open border or the fact that prostitution is brought to our town via another big city near us (they stream thru - as in not permaprostitutes). So tonight the banana peel will be stripped off the eyes. I hope. People would be shocked if they knew who sold children and how easy it is and how many people want them. Sick Sick SICK!

Expand full comment
Raptor's avatar

One more thing is that trafficking takes a lot forms.

Holding Haitians basically captive (they can't leave the compound) so they can chop sugarcane - right here in the US.

Caribbean Islands where they import sex workers to a compound to have sex with people working there or tourists (happens elsewhere too, but that I KNOW happens)

Chinese or other SEA people coming here as indentured servants where they are held and farmed out until they are "done" paying off debt to get here.

We allow this to happen right under our nose. We BUY products like phones and sneakers where they capture or enslave people who make the products.

I feel like it is so endemic that it is impossible not to buy or use something not created or at the expense of another human who has little choice (if any) for their life. California would do well to stop the current slavery and trafficking in their own borders before they puff their ego with the reparations talk. They play their citizens AND allow them to remain ignorant about their part in this crime.

I agree and also watched it yesterday. It was tastefully done without any added tramatic scenes that I feared would send me over the edge. I knew it was big business but I had no idea to what extent. $150 BILLION worldwide. Of course, the United States of Horror is the biggest spender of child pornography and child trafficking slavery, and it a worse slavery than any other in human history. I have no pity whatsoever for those adults who use and abuse little children and wish a long, agonizing death by drowning with a millstone around their necks and forever burning in the fires of hell.

My thoughts exactly. ANYONE who abuses children or enables that abuse. It must stop!
