Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

✝️✝️✝️

Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down,

That the mountains might quake at Your presence—

As fire kindles the brushwood, as fire causes water to boil—

To make Your name known to Your adversaries,

That the nations may tremble at Your presence!

When You did awesome things for which we did not hope,

You came down; the mountains quaked at Your presence.

For from ancient times they have not heard or given ear,

Nor has the eye seen a God besides You,

Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.

— Isaiah 64:1-4 LSB

Oh how I love this Scripture!!!!

Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

I shared it here in September 2024, but I came to it again last night as I finished up journaling through Isaiah. Such beautiful and powerful words . . .

CStone's avatar

Those Words are altogether lovely, Janice.

I believe that Martin Luther wrote the words to this hymn based on this passage. This musical rendition expresses well both the longing and the hope. Written and performed by a friend of mine.

Janice, so applicable for today! After Jeff's revelations today I am so incensed, I hope Our Lord God does just what you revealed in the Scripture!

C. Boyd's avatar

Instead of hijacking Jeff Childers site to print your own daily substack why don’t you pay for your own publishing space. Like Jeff does. Rude, inconsiderate, narcissistic, self centered behavior is no way to go thru life. Amen.

Valerie's avatar

We love Janice and her scriptures here. You don’t have to read it, just scroll on by.

RunningLogic's avatar

Jeff likes her posts too, I might add.

C. Boyd's avatar

Her scriptures aren’t the point. Her using someone else’s publication rather than pay for her own is the point. Self righteousness doesn’t excuse stealing other people’s space.

Alice in Wonderland's avatar

I understand you, and do not disagree, per se. I also think, though, that you are perhaps missing the point, yourself ~ the larger point. It has seemed to me, over the years, that the passages chosen are, indeed, appropriate comments on the very content Jeff has included in that day's "C & C Essential News and Commentary." They are comments made by long-ago commenters on the news of their day, and are offered here as response to the impressively similar news of ours ~ and as always-appropriate reminders of the larger and longer-lasting (indeed, eternal) backdrop to the manically-morphing foreground of our 21st century. I also do not believe that the diagnosis of self-righteousness has adequate supporting evidence to justify its application here. Just my second opinion.

Juju's avatar

“Self righteousness doesn’t excuse stealing other people’s space.”

That assumes she’s doing it for self righteous reasons. And that sharing what comes to mind after reading is considered stealing someone’s space. 🙄😆

It’s understandable that someone who doesn’t read God’s Word daily and use it to guide their own life can’t possibly understand or see the connections to the day’s news, and then attack someone else who does.

When you’re exposed to God’s word every day, quite often when reading or conversing, something reminds you of something God said - and you share it. It’s part of our life. Who’s to say the thoughts triggered in YOUR mind after reading Jeff are any more worthy or applicable than the thoughts triggered in Janice’s mind? You have the freedom to share how Jeff’s article inspired your thoughts, whatever they may be, and she has that same right. She thinks in God’s Word because she is in it multiple times a day. She draws amazing parallels.

Stop being a heinous bully trying to control what others do. You will fail. Especially here.

One day you both will stand before God and He will ask “how did you share my Word? Did you seek to suppress it and keep others from hearing it?” And Janice will be celebrated with “well done my good and faithful servant” because she obeyed God and did NOT seek to stop others from hearing His Word.

The appropriate time to hear it is everywhere, every minute of the day, when you lie down and when you get up, when you walk and when you sit down, wherever you go. That’s in the Bible too. Look it up.

I shudder at His response to your behavior.

Juju's avatar

She does already 🤣🤣🤣 And we and Jeff like her sharing here too. Jeff has shown appreciation for her presence.

But Satan’s minions show themselves, spitting from the sidelines about it.

Words Beyond Me-Janice Powell's avatar

A "truth seeker" by any other name is still annoying . . .

Juju's avatar

Interesting. I’ve been accused of being annoying my whole life, at every stage. 🤣👍

RunningLogic's avatar

Those people don’t know what they’re talking about!

C. Boyd's avatar

Jeff provides a comment section, as he has repeatedly said, to see people’s comments on his articles. I don’t recall him inviting folks to just print whatever you want whether it is relevant or not. As for Satan contacting me today to point out the selfishness and larcenous effect of hijacking space intended for other uses, I think some mental health is in order.

RunningLogic's avatar

Jeff has never, in all of the years Janice has been posting, objected to her comments or asked her to stop. He quite frequently “likes” them, in fact. So if the author of this Substack clearly doesn’t see her posts as a problem, then she has every right to post. And unlike some other posts here, whether they’re relevant or not, she isn’t insulting people or name calling.

Juju's avatar
36mEdited

Jeff has often complained about, criticized, or exposed those in comments who deserve being called out. Janice has never been one of them.

This isn’t your space, it’s his. You aren’t his keeper. Get over yourself 🤣🤣

Re: the constitution violating investigations of Trump, et al, and the rampant blue state fraud.

So lets be as clear as possible, none of this would have occurred if our elections hadn't been hijacked years ago. And we have that motherF***** rino thune and several more (I will try to find and post the list of "republican" senators who have STILL NOT signed on to passing it) NOT doing his/their job, NOT ending the bullshit silent filibuster, and NOT getting the SAVE America Act passed. So, I hope everyone will call thune and your Senator and tell them to get the ACT passed. And then pray deeply that the massive attacks on our country by these criminals finally gets the reckoning we have all been praying and waiting for. Please take action today.

Cousin Clem's avatar

As I read about the exodus of money from these blue states, I was thinking of the discussion in the comments yesterday about the SAVE act and how Oregon literally only has mail in ballot elections. You are correct. You can see the results of fixed elections from mail-in ballots and how those fixed elections result in below sub-standard(aka corrupt) governments. It is essential to pass that SAVE act and eliminate the mail in ballots except for military and those that truly cannot make the trip to the polls(I can see that being a issue of providing proof) and stopping illegal non-citizens from voting. Why should this even be a contested issue??

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

There is one part of SAVE which I am unhappy with. In our state (the corrupt state of AZ), -and likely yours too - we already have a law on the books which requires the creation of "Mobile Election Boards". A mobile election board is a team of at least three people, (leader, and a dem and a republican) who must go to the homes, etc of those people who are disabled or unable to go to the polls. That team is responsible for checking ID, verifying the person is who they say they are, and then issuing a ballot and allowing the person to complete their vote, then the board watches them sign the ballot envelope, and takes the ballot back to the County for continued processing. Of course this would negate nearly all mail in ballots (except for military and those not in state at election time) and so the state and counties do not advertise this capability (because they are both corrupt and lazy) and instead have initiated the awful mail in ballot which is used to conduct wholesale election theft.

Why is it a contested issue? 90% of Americans want it, so it is not contested, except by those who want to stay in office and in power over us until forever.

And one other thing. I want to be completely clear. Mail in ballots were not created to improve voter turnout. They were created to enable election theft. Why/how do I know this? Because if they were created for legit citizen/voter turnout, they would have procedures to ensure voter Identity, full chain of custody, and method to keep them out of the hands of the USPS. They have none of these critical features.

Jean V's avatar

We don't need Mobile Election Boards in Washington state. Ballot harvesting is already legal.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I'm going to take your comment at face value instead of thinking it might be sarcasm.

Ballot harvesting is not a Mobile Election Board. A mobile election board is a trained team who does ID verification, maintains full chain of custody of each and every ballot, and delivers all ballots directly to the county for processing - instead of to the USPS for continued election fraud.

Leskunque Lepew's avatar

There and many many other States

St. Alia the Knife's avatar

Washington also has mail-in ballots only, and the results show it. Part of the reason for staying in Washington, beyond family obligations, was that it had no income tax, which is part of the state constitution. However, our feckless legislature and even more feckless governor are ramming this through, against the WA State constitution and citizen protest.

Pretty much all the rinos and never trumpers we have come to know and loathe: Britt, Murkowski, Sullivan, Boozeman, Riche, Young, Grassley (WTF?), Moran, McConnell, Paul, Cassidy, Collins, Danes, Fischer, Ricketts, Rounds, Thune, Barraso

LMWC's avatar

All but four were supposedly on board a few weeks ago to get it passed? So, they lied once again to all of us….Surprise, surprise! Not surprised!

Beckadee's avatar

AL Sen Britt was one of the co-sponsors and is still working with Sen Mike Lee on the Save Act. Fox News has already issued a correction.

The Texas Moran voted for it in the House. The Senate from Kansas Moran is a co-sponsor of the bill. Why all the false information here? Your list is so inaccurate now I have to go check each one you named.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

The list is changing on the fly, sorry. Mine was a copy of the list put up by Gunther Eagleman on X: https://x.com/GuntherEagleman/status/2010795627719114801 (also I just looked at his post and it was created on 12 Jan 2026, so it is old data. The one I was looking for was one posted below and I will re-post again here: https://www.independentsentinel.com/the-gop-senators-who-will-not-vote-for-the-save-act/

His information is generally pretty reliable.

Lydia Lozano's avatar

So, maybe ol' Gunther isn't such a reliable source. Have you back checked the rest of them?

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

No, go ahead, be helpful. He's pretty reliable but like every other human being, including you Lydia and me, not infallible.

Time to crack the swamp code. What turns the oath of office into loyalty to the dark side rather than constituents. I remember days when members of Congress slept in offices because they couldn’t afford apartments in DC. Now they own homes, fly private and are millionaires.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

You are right Jo Ann. The problem is they are truly above the law in a country where that is not supposed to be possible... and they have ensured it by not passing a term limits constitutional amendment. They've implemented a fail safe election engineering scam which keeps them in office for decades, virtually until they are carried out in a body bag. They are drunk with power, what was supposed to be a difficult job has turned into cocktail parties, quid pro quos and massive kickbacks from their corrupt legislation to foreigners who are unaccountable to the American legal system. Not to mention insider stock market trading. The truth is that they dont give a damn about the USA or we Citizens. They are corrupt to the core and absolutely despicable. How is it that scum bags like AOC and Omar are now incredibly wealthy, I am told both with net worth in the millions? WTF?!?!?

Truth Seeker's avatar

Important to itemize the goon squad

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Thanks, I got called out for not having an up to the second correct list... but as you will see below, the list is slowly getting better, meaning more accurate to the second.

Its really disgusting we can only count on the republicans and rinos to do the job, knowing that the rotten to the core crimeocrats will never vote for it because it would mean they can no longer cheat. I wonder what forever flip-flopping fetterman will do?

Truth Seeker's avatar

Realize that the squad morphs. Calling them out consistently is useful.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Don't feel bad, I have two who are in office and violently oppose anything which is good for the USA. That would be seditionist Mark Kelly and anti-USA everything, retard and reprobate, cartel connected ruben gallego. Both of these oxygen thieves were s_Elected by wholesale mail in ballot fraud.

Barbara ( Portlander😵‍💫)'s avatar

Or you could live in Oregon where they are all useless

Lydia Lozano's avatar

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Put into office by election theft and wholesale mail in ballot fraud. And doing extreme damage to the country as a result.

shayne's avatar

It's so frustrating, Dan. And that Mark Kelly is pernicious. I'm sorry you have two. Our other guy is pretty good.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

He clearly committed sedition and he and that worthless cartel employee gallego was put into office by a stolen election. Pernicious? Okay, sure. But I would prefer to call him a corrupt criminal.

And he will probably avoid the loss of rank which Sec DOW Hegseth gave him for his seditious acts. I loathe senator gargoyle. I cannot think of one good thing to say about that evil .....

Lydia Lozano's avatar

The Kansas Moran is a co-sponsor in the Senate. The Texas Moran voted for it in the House. Which one are you talking about?

shayne's avatar

Kansas. I haven't liked him for a long time. And I voted for him.

Bill Campbell's avatar

Dan, there is only one reason they are not on board. And it's always the same: MONEY. They are making money from somewhere for not supporting this. And that is a giant finger in the eye to We the People. Keep 'em locked and loaded, brother. If this is gonna get fixed, it's going to be by We the People.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Yes, of course you are 100% correct. I - and probably everyone else reading this - am a daily recipient of these scumbags continuous stream of texts asking for money so they can pass the SAVE Act. They are corrupt and criminal to the core of their being.

And lets not forget many of them hate Trump because he is undoing their unlimited power.

Steenroid's avatar

Since they are all whores couldn’t we just offer more?

Willing Spirit's avatar

Interesting today. Thune’s local office is avoiding calls. Not the usual response for leaving a message as directed by a recorded Thune.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

That's ok, WS. What the hell has being civil gotten us?

Free in Florida's avatar

Hi Dan - I think this is where I come in again. The number for the CAPITOL HILL OPERATOR is (202) 224-3121.

If I’m not mistaken, at least three of the Republicans who currently have said they refuse to vote for the Save Act are - Murkowski (Alaska), Tillis (NC), McConnell (KY).

Their TDS is overtaking all rational thought. It’s disgusting.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Hi Free,

Excellent, thanks for posting the number.

Three dedicated RINOs and antiTrump vermin. TDS causes that. Murkowski got back in by the utterly ridiculous Rank Choice Voting, yet another way they have forced on us, against our will, to ensure our voices are not heard as the CItizens of this country.

You are correct, it is absolutely disgusting. May they rot and burn in hell.

Free in Florida's avatar

Dan - Strong message to follow, eh? 🤣

I agree. It’s so infuriating for all of us to see what needs to be done for voting (and so much else) to function properly and yet to have personal agendas get in the way of what is best for the country. (Agree that rank choice voting is a disaster, and particularly in the red state of Alaska. ugh)

And of course on the number! It’s a bit embarrassing (perhaps - LOL) that I know these numbers by heart. If anyone also wants to leave a positive message for Trump, the

WHITE HOUSE COMMENTS LINE is (202) 456-1111.

I say positive message because Trump doesn’t need any negative pushback right now. He’s not only trying to save the country, he’s trying to help the entire world and too many of the fools can’t/won’t see it. 🇺🇸

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

So yes. I did call Thune"s office. I had to leave a message since you wont ever get a live human being.

Anyhow, my message started with, "hello Senator Thune, Im not going to call you a MF'ing RINO, even though that's what you appear to be. Instead, Im going to encourage you to do your job and support our Great USA by stopping the silent filibuster and getting the SAVE America Act passed. It is critical as we all know now that our elections are completely rigged by massive wholesale mail in ballot fraud and programmable machines. So please stop playing games with our lives and get this done. We do NOT have verifiable, certifiable elections. The House has passed, the Senate now needs to do the same and quickly. Thank you.

I doubt I will get invited to his Christmas party but hopefully my message will help?

I wanted to say I'd be watching him through my ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight), but then I thought that might not be helpful, so I didn't! And I forgot to add that almost 90% of all Americans want it passed, damnit!

Free in Florida's avatar

I feel your frustration and raise you about 1,000. My first thought was to chuckle and think you’d probably do better not to start off your comment with an insult - just a thought. LOL. On the other hand, you probably got an aide’s attention and that’s at least a positive. You made me laugh.

In all seriousness, between the calls and Paxton’s clever political move on Cornyn/Save Act/endorsement, Thune is certainly more focused on this. We’ll see.

Scott Pressler’s correct on the Save Act. It could mean the difference between winning and losing the midterms. The base demands it and so does election integrity. Enough already!!!

Fabes55's avatar

It's interesting that Tillis and McConnell are done after 2026, so they're lame ducks and don't care at this point. And I think Murkowski may have a formidable challenger in 2028 when she is up.

Free in Florida's avatar

Fabes55 - Yes, which makes it all the more hateful on their part. It’s pure Trump Derangement Syndrome and shows better than just about anything that their personal paybacks (or whatever it is) are more important than the country.

Murkowski is awful - spiteful - sour. She needs to have a formidable challenger - and Alaska needs to rid itself of rank choice voting!

Vet nor's avatar

I have no idea if thun was blowing smoke or being accurate when he said he didn't have enough votes to end the silent filibuster and replace with a standing filibuster.

Call your senator, tell them you want a vote yes on the SAVE act. I don't care which party they belong to! Call them every day until they vote in the SAVE act. And if they don't, they will be primaried.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Perfect! Thanks for stating it.

President Trump has also stated he will not sign another piece of legislation until SAVE gets done. Now we need to have his back.

Vet nor's avatar

Problem with it is they can hold Mullin's appointment to Homeland security as well as judges etc, as well as funding foe dhs. The tsa and travelers will be led to blame Trump and Republicans not dems. Who for the record, want an amendment to , I guess the funding bill for discussion, that no ICE officers can be located outside polling places. Now why do you think democrats don't want ICE around polling places, especially in CA where it is ILLEGAL to ask if someone is a citizen at a polling location.

Hmmm, the same people who launched a major hissy fit when Texas redistricting but are fine with California and Virginia doing the same. Pot meet kettle.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

No on Mullin appointment being held up, unless you mean they would do it out of spite? The President has made the nomination, now the Senate only need confirm.

And amen on preventing ICE officers from locating outside polling locations. American elections are supposed to be for American Citizens only. Period. Full Stop!

But thank goodness, lol, that we have such enlightened souls like him to condescendingly inform the rest of us that only he can *see* what we can't, lol. Pomposity like that cracks me up! lol

Johnny-O's avatar

Hey Tori, I've been clamoring about the Strait of Hormuz for days, while the likes of you belittled me, literally telling me that ships were going through, and the navy will escort ships, not to worry! That is false, even admittedly by our own navy, which I posted above. Wake up.

Tori's avatar

Hahahaha...I admire your persistence in validating the accuracy of my original comment. The ships that are still insured ARE going through. Do you really not understand how maritime insurance works?

Johnny-O's avatar

And you are blatantly lying. Or are you claiming the footage is fake? If that is the case, please provide some footage. It is hard to find because of censorship. If the war were going so well, we would be seeing footage verifying that.

Tori's avatar

Imagine that...claiming that fabricated or miscontextualized footage is fake. How DARE he? Who is doing the *censoring*? Which you were somehow magically able to evade...? lol

Chuck Schumer: You Take on the Intelligence Agencies they Have 6 Ways from Sunday to Get Back at You: https://old.bitchute.com/video/QNCLBtNZygJY [97seconds]

Aegeandreams's avatar

and we, the people, have too numerous ways to count to get back at all of them. they best watch their backs or we can make them extinct like the ayatollah in iran.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Of course that corrupt, steaming POS Schumer was "correct", he was a major player (both Majority and Minority leader at various points) of the senate which helped legislate and fund the "institutional democracy" which gave them nearly unlimited power - to walk on the constitution and with their boots on our necks - and with no accountability.

Cousin Clem's avatar

I've disliked(being polite) Schumer since he appeared years ago at a congressional hearing to lead the defense for the slaughter at Waco. I saw him for the slimey creature he is.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

The SOB is rotten and evil. He and pelosisaurus are probably more guilty than anyone else, except for maybe mcconnell, of destroying our Constitutional Republic.

Aegeandreams's avatar

schumer is a sick twist. the sooner he is 6 feet under the better.

Aegeandreams's avatar

And we the people can also take over and have our boots on their necks. If they push us to that point we will. lock and loaded and taking no prisoners. they have no right to abuse we the people and one day, this will happen, especially if the dems get in again. then we will have to take them out as they are too dangerous. we will make them ghosts like the ayatollah. And that will be their accountabililty as a gift from we the people.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Truly, this is why we have the 2nd Amendment... it is not for hunting deer.

Aegeandreams's avatar

Indeed. Deer are beautiful and innocent creatures. The ones we talk about are Satanic and need to be destroyed utterly and completely.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Facts. I shot a deer once, a female, a doe. I felt like complete shit afterwards, I haven't shot one since. On the other hand, shooting these satanic, evil POS would not be a chore, nor would it be problematic.

William Bogert's avatar

I feel the exact same way. Haven't shot a deer in 50 years. But there are many of these career asshole politicians I wouldn't hesitate to terminate.

M. Patrick McCrary's avatar

Their six ways from Sunday was on full display in Butler. How is it that the shooter could be clearly seen by the secret service in order for them to make the kill shot on him but only right after he nearly took out DJT? They had to have seen him before he started firing but were either told he was one of the good guys by one of their superiors so they should just ignore him or they knew what his mission was and needed to let him do it before they silenced him forever in Oswald/Ruby fashion.

Gym+Fritz's avatar

Dollars to donuts, if the FBI(DOJ?) did this - you can imagine what elements of the CIA and the rest of the I/C (the “deepest state”) probably did.

Yep, sixth Happy Anniversary!

One thing that happened six years ago:

The World Health Organization (WHO) made the announcement on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, that the Coronavirus is a “pandemic” which is actually not as bad as an Epidemic which is a term that describes any problem that has grown out of control. An epidemic is therefore defined as “an outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area and affects an exceptionally high proportion of the population.”

“The WHO has a financial incentive in declaring this a pandemic. It issued Pandemic Bonds paying 7% interest which now the WHO does not have to repay.”

Aegeandreams's avatar

And a new article says the virus was NOT made in the lab. Still lying to this day.

Recent zoonotic viruses didn't need special adaptations to infect humans

A study published in the journal Cell found that most zoonotic viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, did not need special adaptations to infect humans, challenging the belief that animal viruses must mutate before jumping to people. The researchers analyzed diverse viruses and found that selection pressures before zoonotic emergence were similar to those during animal circulation. "What matters most is human exposure to a diverse array of animal viruses," said researcher Joel Wertheim. The findings also suggest that SARS-CoV-2 did not emerge from a lab.

What's interesting is that the building in Van Nuys that supposedly hosted all these fake hospice centers, is literally 3 blocks from where a major IRS office resides. I guess all these grifting operations weren't auditable to the IRS. Not to mention that any other state or federal healthcare/grant auditor would feel at home visiting the hospice mall building with a federal building being so closely located (easy to catch lunch with other feddies).

They say the new leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei has been struggling with impotence (ED). How’s that all work when any day now he meets his 72 virgins?

Larry Denninger's avatar

I heard it was 72 Vogons. He has to endure awful poetry for eternity.

TriTorch's avatar

According to the The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Vogon poetry is the third worst in the Universe. The second worst is that of the Azgoths of Kria, and the worst is by Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings of Sussex, who perished along with her poetry during the destruction of Earth, ironically caused by the Vogons themselves. Vogon poetry is seen as mild by comparison.

Ford Prefect sat still.

"We are not worried about the expiration date," repeated the barman, satisfied that he now had Ford Prefect's full attention. "We are worried about the entire piece of plastic."

"What?" said Ford. He seemed a little taken aback.

"This," said the barman, holding out the card as if it was a small fish whose soul had three weeks earlier winged its way to the Land Where Fish are Eternally Blessed, "we don't accept it."

Ford wondered briefly whether to raise the fact that he didn't have any other means of payment on him, but decided for the moment to soldier on. The disembodied hand was now grasping his shoulder lightly but firmly between its finger and thumb.

"But you don't understand," said Ford, his expression slowly ripening from a little taken abackness into rank incredulity. "This is the American Express Card. It is the finest way of settling bills known to man. Haven't you read their junk mail?"

The cheery quality of Ford's voice was beginning to grate on the barman's ears. It sounded like someone relentlessly playing the kazoo during one of the more sombre passages of a War Requiem.

One of the bones in Ford's shoulder began to crack…

"Construction of the historic facility begins next month. Get this: India not only invested up front in building the plant, but has also agreed to buy long-term production for twenty years. In other words, the capital is surging back into the United States, for once. TAW."

As excited as I am to see oil production ramping back up domestically, that paragraph gives me pause. Is there a catch to this investment deal, something along the lines of H1-B visas and hiring preferences given to Indian applicants over American citizens?

Roger Beal's avatar

Indeed. Part of ExxonMobil's price to escape New Jersey should be a mandated investment in that new US refinery.

Bard Joseph's avatar

To process the stolen Venezuela oil.

Joseph Kaplan's avatar

How long does it take to build an oil refinery?

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

4-6 years. Given Trump’s reputation for pushing faster approvals and deadlines on large projects, especially through executive actions aimed at cutting permitting timelines, it will probably happen sooner. Maybe 2-3 years? But not tomorrow.

Emmel's avatar

The permitting, contracting, engineering, funding, right of ways and long lead item procurement alone will take 2-3 years. Trump can influence the permitting side of things but the other items are at the whim of market forces and the competency of the team managing the project.

Realistically, 5-6 years at a minimum before the refinery starts production.

Manpower alone will be a hurdle, finding 3000-4000 skilled tradesmen and luring them to Brownsville will itself be a big challenge.

Haha. Great. Stale, frozen mini marshmallows at the best. Peeps are too big and sweet for me. For additional variety, try them from different manufacturers. Also, minis made with gelatin seem to have less flavor than those fashioned from tapioca. Bon appétit!

That was my first thought: Why isn't America building their own refinery? That is a really sad commentary on the state of American education and the American workforce. Over the last 50 years, everything has been off-shored. Americans don't know how to build anything anymore.

Seriously! To build a new oil refinery, America has to contract it out TO INDIA?????

I wanted to jump on and tell Jeff, I listened to the Mike Rowe interview yesterday. I like Mike Rowe, especially for what he has done supporting the trades, and the last year he has broadened his interviews to people and subjects I would not have expected even a few short years ago.

Much of the interview was events, as a long time C&C reader, I knew. One of the reasons I loved C&C was the optimism of Jeff in the worst of times, but also his Christian faith which he always admitted, but never tried to overpower the reader. It seemed Mike tried to avoid this integral part of who you are as much as possible. Knowing how that faith came about made it even more meaningful to me. While Jeff often uses words that require a dictionary, I can do it at my leisure and appreciate the broadening vocabulary, on the other hand, Mike too often uses $5 word’s when $1 ones would suffice just as well. My one problem listening to Mike Rowe interviews. However, it was an excellent morning listen and hopefully, will bring many more to C&C.

Laura Kasner's avatar

LMWC - I noticed that too when Mike didn’t add anything to Jeff’s profession of faith.

I pray that Mike goes back and listens to what Jeff had to say about how Christians have the comfort of trusting God’s word - when there is little else we can trust.

Juju's avatar

It was a great explanation for the difference between us and non-Christians. We have a powerful plumb line for life that never fails us and that we can trust is true. Mike should know no house is built well without a plumb line. Maybe he needs that analogy?

All the structures are carried away and deposited on someone else's new house in the next town. The newspapers are so liberal they won't even mention Trump.
