The media should be raising a big stink about these lost children, but they are more concerned that Mayor Adams may switch from Democrat to Republican! How sick is that!! I work as an aide in an elementary school in California. Yesterday a teacher shoved a stack of papers she had just printed off. With a smile she said, āFrom our governor. This is what we need to do!ā Dumbfounded I said, āIām not on his team.ā

I live by and grew up in the area of one of those small towns which is now mostly latino, due to a meat processing plant. There were no latinos anywhere that I knew of growing up. I've lived in Central America and in amongst immigrants to the US at times. My Democrat family is que worried about deportation terror and persecution. I said, have you looked at the court records in recent years for this nearby town gone latino? The Court docket shows crimes of sexual molestation, violence, etc that are not as much an issue in neighboring towns with less rapid immigration. It's not that Latinos are being discriminated against, but more that they are being victimized by this same free for all immigration situation. It's so much easier to prey upon people who are fearful of law enforcement, who are likely to do anything not to get in trouble. The many many latinos who have incredible traditional values and a culture worth learning from are being effectively victimized by this situation.
I'm in the hospital and a nurse came in to to squeeze out more blood, though I must be sanguine by now. I asked why and she explained they want to be assured the white cells aren't taking over and replace the red ones. I blurted out "Yeah, that would be racist," then tried to change the subject because she has American Indian features. Turned out ok; she didn't get it or maybe didn't hear it

The Minnesota data matches those national trends. You are right. Children are our most precious gift from God. Judges selling kids to the detention system. I didnāt even know that existed. These people deserve the same treatment child sex offenders get in Florida.
There are a lot of people posting about CPS + Family Courts and the nightmares that some parents go through for the most minor of offenses that get reported. The best advice I received 26 years ago when we began homeschooling was to have āBible timeā every day. While those times werenāt āinstagram worthyā with all my little angels quietly listening and reciting chapters of scripture, they are some of my sweetest memories. With 7 kids and 18 years between the youngest and oldest, many times it was like keeping kittens (or badgers) in a box and some days it didnāt seem worth the trouble. But when I recall their voices repeating the verses I read to them in phrases, or their prayers when it was their turn, I am heartened by the reminder even now that Godās word will not return to Him void. My youngest is 18 now. I will never wish I would have spent less time studying the Bible with them or praying with them. Only more.

We only successfully accomplished what we intended to in fits and starts and it never truly emerged as a strong, daily, family tradition. Because of that the difference in our kidsā lives is profound. I wish every day a do-over with the understanding and clarity that I have now. I hate that I didnāt have it when I was a young mother, nor anyone in my life to impress it upon me.
What I would say to any young mother out there: no matter how bad it is, no matter if you have no help from a single soul outside the walls of your home, no matter how much your sanity is strained within the home, no matter if youāre dealing with multiple kids with disabilities. donāt miss a single day of family prayer and Bible reading. No amount of friends and family and no amount of social, extracurricular, or academic enhancements in your childās life will EVER play as critical of a role in their adulthood than prayer will. None of it matters as much as people will make you believe, but the foundation laid with Godās word WILL. I did everything right as a parent from the perspective of society and made sure my kids got the education they should have and the exposure to extra challenges and activities. I spent too much time ensuring access to social interactions and participation in sports, etc. It made NO difference in the end. Only when combined with Godās word can any of that truly be enrichment.
Heed my warning, embrace Janiceās example. Donāt settle for the regrets I now have.

For those interested, the Chalcedon Foundation is a Christian ministry inspired by the late great theologian R.J. Rushdoony. Among other things, they publish a number of excellent commentaries on the old and new testaments. Their latest effort is a new two-volume commentary on Revelation, "The Divorce of Israel: A Redemptive-Historical Interpretation of Revelation" by Kenneth Gentry. It's worth taking a look at for Christmas. There are very few serious commentaries on Revelation. This is one of only two commentaries that I would consider recommending.

I live by and grew up in the area of one of those small towns which is now mostly latino, due to a meat processing plant. There were no latinos anywhere that I knew of growing up. I've lived in Central America and in amongst immigrants to the US at times. My Democrat family is que worried about deportation terror and persecution. I said, have you looked at the court records in recent years for this nearby town gone latino? The Court docket shows crimes of sexual molestation, violence, etc that are not as much an issue in neighboring towns with less rapid immigration. It's not that Latinos are being discriminated against, but more that they are being victimized by this same free for all immigration situation. It's so much easier to prey upon people who are fearful of law enforcement, who are likely to do anything not to get in trouble. The many many latinos who have incredible traditional values and a culture worth learning from are being effectively victimized by this situation.

They are likely still coming for a better life. Everyone knows someone who is doing well, sending money back to the family, living what from afar seems like a great life, and may well be. And many immigrants do make a good life for themselves, and sacrifice greatly to support family back home. The value of being "trabajador" is very strong. Work is a value, and family. If conditions are bad, it might not be possible, or feel right, to tell your family back home, when they can't help and are depending on you, even if you're underage. Once you start the journey, you want to make it and be what you and others imagined for you.
Being an immigrant sets one up for being vulnerable to abuses. The abuses can come from other immigrants, who are criminal. They can also come from citizens, who run businesses or take advantage of vulnerable people in a million ways. They are also victimized by law enforcement. Yes, there are ethical good cops, and there are those who find the authority useful or even corruptive to abuse those who don't see how to defend themselves.
I hate to say it, but that might still be a "better life". Just not a better life to any of us. For some underage children, having a job with money is something better than they ever had (migrants or not).
I doubt being a virtual slave is a better life for anyone š I also doubt they are making money, itās probably being taken from them by the traffickers. And the ones who are forced into prostitution have it even worse š

You are right. Children are our most precious gift from God. Covid convinced me that TPTB care little for children. They were kept out of schools and made to wear useless face diapers. Once a party has adopted slogans like "shout your abortion" there is no safe haven for children.

There are a lot of people posting about CPS + Family Courts and the nightmares that some parents go through for the most minor of offenses that get reported. Some people - definitely not fit to be parents. But there are too many who have their lives completely disrupted by "well meaning" busy-bodies. I know enough to know we don't want to ever have to deal with the family courts and can only hope for honest judges if we do have to deal with them.

The best advice I received 26 years ago when we began homeschooling was to have āBible timeā every day. While those times werenāt āinstagram worthyā with all my little angels quietly listening and reciting chapters of scripture, they are some of my sweetest memories. With 7 kids and 18 years between the youngest and oldest, many times it was like keeping kittens (or badgers) in a box and some days it didnāt seem worth the trouble. But when I recall their voices repeating the verses I read to them in phrases, or their prayers when it was their turn, I am heartened by the reminder even now that Godās word will not return to Him void. My youngest is 18 now. I will never wish I would have spent less time studying the Bible with them or praying with them. Only more.
ā¤ļøā¤ļø I dreamed of doing this with our kids, and even when they were babies my husband and I intended for it to be this way. Then every curveball possible was thrown at us from every direction nonstop, and it prevented our attempts at obedience to God. We only successfully accomplished what we intended to in fits and starts and it never truly emerged as a strong, daily, family tradition. Because of that the difference in our kidsā lives is profound. I wish every day a do-over with the understanding and clarity that I have now. I hate that I didnāt have it when I was a young mother, nor anyone in my life to impress it upon me.
What I would say to any young mother out there: no matter how bad it is, no matter if you have no help from a single soul outside the walls of your home, no matter how much your sanity is strained within the home, no matter if youāre dealing with multiple kids with disabilities. donāt miss a single day of family prayer and Bible reading. No amount of friends and family and no amount of social, extracurricular, or academic enhancements in your childās life will EVER play as critical of a role in their adulthood than prayer will. None of it matters as much as people will make you believe, but the foundation laid with Godās word WILL. I did everything right as a parent from the perspective of society and made sure my kids got the education they should have and the exposure to extra challenges and activities. I spent too much time ensuring access to social interactions and participation in sports, etc. It made NO difference in the end. Only when combined with Godās word can any of that truly be enrichment.
Heed my warning, embrace Janiceās example. Donāt settle for the regrets I now have.

Among other things, they publish a number of excellent commentaries on the old and new testaments. Their latest effort is a new two-volume commentary on Revelation, "The Divorce of Israel: A Redemptive-Historical Interpretation of Revelation" by Kenneth Gentry. It's worth taking a look at for Christmas. There are very few serious commentaries on Revelation. This is one of only two commentaries that I would consider recommending.
