✝️✝️✝️

When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, falling on his knees before Him and saying, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is a lunatic and is very ill; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. I brought him to Your disciples, and they could not cure him.” And Jesus answered and said, “You unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him here to Me.” And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured at once. Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.”

So Sharon, makes sense to you to use the comment section to proclaim your faith?

Seems about a third of readers agree. No need to comment on the content.

That is likely because of lack of comprehension and default to posting something that is irrelevant to the content however useful. You and "Janice" may want to consider

what the "comment" section is for instead of redefining... just saying

As you are stating your opinion, I have mine as well. I feel that Janice has full comprehension of Jeff's posts and shares scriptures that are indeed relevant to the day's posts. She also makes non-scriptural comments, like the rest of us. I think there's far more than only 1/3 of the readers here that enjoy and appreciate her posts. As someone who has faithfully read C&C since pretty much it's inception, I would put it at more like twice as many as you suggest!! As a matter of fact, regular, faithful readers look forward to Janice's scripture post of the day.

Expand full comment
Truth Seeker's avatar

no, that is not a solution. The solution is to post scripture in a forum for scripture. Poof was a magic dragon.

Not seeing much evidence of intellect in these blaterfests.

Believe it or not, I realize nothing is forcing me to read them. The content is so important that it seemed reasonable that readers had some imput. That assumption is mostly false. Question is why?

Some of us actually do think, try it.

Expand full comment
Irunthis1's avatar

The whole premise of free speech is enshrined by her right to write it, ours to enjoy it and yours to ignore it (or complain about it I suppose). I find it sad that you're so disgruntled by its presence here. What makes me happy is the fact that as long as we have Janice, we will have a bit of daily scripture to enjoy (or disgruntle) the populace. And the magic dragon was PUFF. I know because it was in a piano song book my mom had and used to teach us simple piano and it was my favorite. I believe it was a Peter, Paul and Mary song (music written by the aforementioned Peter to a poem by someone else).

Expand full comment
Truth Seeker's avatar

So you see this as a "free speech" First amendment right?

No one suggested a breach on that right.

I am not disgruntled. What do you not comprehend about a comment section being for article related content? What is amazing is how many people have no interest in the content and think its for blathering about scripture that they also appear not to comprehend.

I’m curious as to what it is that you are ‘just saying’ here, Truth Seeker. If you have been reading C&C for any length of time, I’m sure you’re aware of the fact that JC proclaims his faith at times in his posts, even going so far as quoting the Bible when talking about worldly things. So I’m wondering if you’re trying to tell these people that they are out of line by making any reference to God, or to their faith in God, as it relates to anything that Jeff says in his posts. And if it “Seems about a third of readers agree” then perhaps you ‘just saying’ what you said was not necessary. Plus it seems to me that to say that they lack comprehension was a statement made without any possible knowledge of their levels of understanding.

So, perhaps it’s you that may want to consider what the comment section is for.

(in reality FAKE SCIENCE, SCIENCE FICTION, PSEUDO-SCIENCE or even FEELINGS, which are profane, vain, babblings, opposition against the TRUTH= LORD GOD JESUS CHRIST)

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.”

Also, for the SCIENCE ONLY MINDED, I would call attention to last section of today post regarding the Interstellar Object.

It is a good example of schizophrenic ideation, (not schizophrenia), we compassionately call Sci-Fi, SCIENCE FICTION, used to create FEAR, and, to convince donors, including governments, to spend billions on questionable, may be laughable, research.

Immediately comes to mind what happened with preparation and management of COVID SCIENCE FICTION CALLED “PANDEMIC”, using FEAR or PSYCHOLOGICAL OPERATION, to sell the “VACCINE”.

Actually, Beckadee, when I read T.S.'s post I was a bit taken aback - because "Comments" are what I WAS doing when I wrote that response to J. C.'s blog from today--commenting and declaring (my belief and understanding of how the 'news bits' affirm my faith in Scripture and its messages to our sometimes aberrant mindsets--LOL!) Truth Seeker was probably trying to "gently nudge" me to reassess my "commenting"--which I would NOT DO when it comes to sharing my Christian beliefs.

Expand full comment

It wasn’t a gentle nudge, Sharon, and was definitely out of place on Coffee&Covid, which should be pleasant, like a library. Where we can learn things and discuss peacefully, but noo.

Actually, Jeremiah (the weeping prophet in Scripture)...after what I experienced on other "social media" platforms, T. S.'s post definitely seemed "gentle". The unleashed anger and vicious attacks I would experience when sharing NOT the Bible necessarily - but just my "viewpoint" on current events and our nation's corrupt governance issues...is why I completely UN-sub'ed from ALL social media. The C & C Group is the only truly "sociable" social media on which I participate any longer.

Peace, His HOPE and JOY to you all!

Thanks Truth Seeker, my thoughts but better. The scripturists cant bear to restrain themselves with their self-perceived meteoric knowledge of the biblical works. Even the current Schofield edition was funded by a Jewish Rothschild for heaven's sake! Maybe Jeff could have two comment sections, one for those that feel they need to witness to the rest of us pagans and those who just want to opine on on Jeff's spectacular writings

Expand full comment

I don’t think that the thoughts of the unseemly named Truth Seeker are better than yours, Kent. I do like that you used that phrase in a comment on a post by JC about a perceived meteor.

Here’s something; if TS’s estimate of 1/3 is correct then there are approximately 125,000 other people that subscribe to C&C, and of that number, so far only three ‘pagans’ have seen fit to voice an objection to these types of comments. Notice the difference between the NAS95 version and the AKJV version: "19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." You will notice how they changing the meaning from, "Because of your unbelief," to “Because of the littleness of your faith." Translated from German in the year 1611 and closest to the original Greek, I put my trust in the Textus Receptus. In other words, the Received Text or the "Traditional Text."

Expand full comment
Jeremiah Davidson's avatar

I would suggest that you put your trust in God, Eric, instead of any version of the Bible. I have found the King James version to be an excellent, and beautifully worded version of the book. However, I have read other versions that are very good translations of the original Greek manuscripts that are available to us, and they seem to be much easier to understand for today’s English speaking people. I have also found in all of my reading of the book that just reading is not sufficient in order to gain the understanding of what it says. I found it necessary to dig deeper by using the tools available to us, for example; lexicons and interlinear word studies. It seems to me to be the difference between building your house on the sand or digging deep and building it on the rock.

(But maybe not the rock that is the subject of today’s post)

What I’m saying about putting your trust in God while reading the Bible, is that, no matter which version you’re reading, he can give you the understanding that he wants you to have.

…if you ask him to.

Democrats have lost so many smart people to the Independent and Republican parties that the average IQ of the remaining Democrats now must be below 100. They’ve morphed from the party of hate and intolerance to the party of hate, intolerance and idiocy. That’s a hat trick of horribles!

An interesting follow-on observation is that the two most effective Trump cabinet members, RFK Jr. and Tulsi, were Democrats themselves until a few years ago. Also interesting is that neither one are now Republicans.

We can laugh at the low-information Dems (and should) but how many brain-dead Republicans watch Fox News all day and don't think for themselves? More than we care to admit. Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and Tom Cotton are all Republicans in good standing. It took the GOP years to purge Liz Cheney for crying out loud, she was in House GOP leadership as recently 2021.

Yes the GOP is better than the Democrats, in the same way a cop on the take is better than organized crime running the department. Trump conducted a hostile takeover of a corrupt Republican party, but plenty of the old apparatchiks are still in power. These people regularly appear on Fox News (hosted by patsies like Sean Hannity) and low information Republicans mindlessly lap it up. You know the type, demanding endless wars and making excuses for corrupt multinational corporations. This isn't Conservativism.

Make fun of the idiot Dems and have a good laugh at their expense. But don't lose sight of the fact there are plenty just like them on our side.

Wow! That thread is scary! There are still people out there who are that afraid, and I'm going to guess their "CV 19" symptoms are actually "vaccine" adverse events.

Here's a taste, with one entry and a few responses to it:

"Today is day 12 after infection. I tried to go to work today and I got lost on the way there, a drive I’ve made 1000 times

When I got to work I couldn’t remember my name or how I got here. I don’t know how to get home

I’m scared. I’m going to lose my job, my fiance, my home. I can’t just not work"

"I know this is really really scary and I just want to tell you you're not alone. After my first covid infection I forgot the words for colors and couldn't do simple math, although it wasn't as bad as forgetting everything about myself. You can bounce back from this, but it's going to take a while, try supplements like the ones suggested and please wear an N95 in public to avoid reinfection. You got this."

"radical rest and ask for help it's time to lean on your support system, stop driving all together, don't waltz around without an N95 mask to avoid reinfection which will only compound the problem. I don't want to be brunt but your health is more important than your job & Long COVID comes with a range of symptoms, it's a neuroinvasive virus."

"Agree with all the posts about taking more time off. I had the very same cognitive issues after my second infection and the derealization and depersonalization were terrifying. I also had severe cognitive issues surrounding memory and could not recall simple words. My reaction times were also impaired. It took me a full six months to feel somewhat normal again. But! I had tried to push through it and went back to work too early and ended up making myself so much worse. Talk to HR or whomever is responsible for medical leave or PTO and see what you can do. Do not further jeopardize your health by pushing through. It’s NOT worth it. COVID will turn into long COVID if you push yourself, so many here will attest to that.

Wishing you lots of comfort and healing ❤️‍🩹 I know how terrifying and demoralizing this sickness is."

Ummm, a 2020 respiratory virus morphed into a cardiac virus, in 2021, and then into a neurological virus; and now, 5 1/2 years later, into a "neuroinvasive virus". Not to be brunt about it, this is one heck of a clever bug!

Juju's avatar

They all think it’s actually the Covid “virus” causing all that when really it’s the vaccine. It’s crazy how they are so convinced it’s Covid itself and blind to any other possibility. The medical pros they see are feeding their misinformation.

Expand full comment
Tonya's avatar

I have heard of some people who did not get any covid shots, yet still believe they suffer from “long covid”. But that belief tells me two things:

1. They believe in “covid” as a dangerous virus, including believing that bad things that happened to patients in the hospital were the result of the virus, not bad treatment or neglect.

2. They trust in the PCR tests as being accurate measurements of infection, and got tested themselves.

This means that they still trust the medical system overall, just not the covid injections. But that means their long covid symptoms could have come from other “prevention” or “treatment” methods that are also harmful, like flu shots or paxlovid. Plus, their belief in the danger could account for their belief in and attribution of their symptoms to long covid.

"Ack, ack" indeed, J.C.

I'm not afraid of unobservable huge space rocks as much as I am of the devious, despicable "global governance" potentates. SO RELIEVED to see that RFK, Jr. formally announced our government's REJECTION of the WHO's globalist "dream" - that horrendous 'world health treaty' that's been floating around the world for over three years!! GLAD IT'S A DEAD DUCK!!!

When I didn't "see" a C & C blog in my "In" box today...I thought our intrepid author, Jeff Childers, was too busy with his family vacay to indulge our "caffeinated news" habit....but NO....here it 'tis--a bit delayed, but definitely DELICIOUSLY DELIVERED!

Thank you, Jeff Childers, for your devotion to the "C & C Cause"....I'm certain I speak for a majority of your readers when I let you know you are LOVED AND APPRECIATED by us.

We’ve had so much rain here in the burbs of Chicago this month, (July of all months!) that I have many pots of flowers drowning, choking, sputtering, and dying. They haven’t had a chance to dry up before the next downpour.

It’s making the humidity of our back yard, AND inside our house, higher than I’ve ever seen it in 20 years. This of course attracts my biggest fear in my entire world: large creepy spiders in my landscape near frequented areas we walk and sit, making webs that connect from a nearby tree down to my pool chair, hanging at or below face level in midair, risking our doggo running through it and bringing in an unwanted house guest on her fur. The other night my son and I were like war generals strategizing on the front lines with extreme fear, urgency, and intensity 🤣: do we plug in our most powerful vacuum and suck it out of midair? But it may survive inside the bag and crawl out! Can the jet setting on our garden hose attachment be powerful enough to kill? What if it just blows it onto our patio? We settled on him putting on his dad’s boots, the ones with flat soles, with a broom in hand to knock it down onto the grass and then he quickly stomps all over that grass area until the sun comes up. 🤣 My son somehow felt spraying water simultaneously would help but I felt that was a waste of time as I’ve jetted many of a wolf spider with jet spray only for them to uncurl and keep on scrambling away as if I tickled it. He wouldn’t listen and sprayed away. Lol

I usually don’t have to deal with these fears until late August, where I refuse to garden much less mow my lawn again until late October or November. This all came a month early!

Arachnophobia is the absolute worst! Give me snakes, give me rats, heck I can even handle centipedes or cockroaches. But not spiders. I’m in hell right now. 😆

Well I can't help you with the arachnophobia per se, but as something of an arachnophobe myself, I try to remember that spiders are the "cops of the (insect) world." More spiders, less bugs! :-)

I love spiders and name them all Charlotte ala Charlottes' Web. We coexist nicely. It's easier when they have names even if they all have the same one. Hang in there Juju, tell them to come see me!

Just this morning I saw a very pale teeny crab spider acting like it wasn't there on my flower waiting for the tiny bees. I bent over to look and it saluted me, I'm not kidding. I too like spiders but outside.

They are very beautiful actually. I have only one in the house now who is a decent size. She traps the mosquitoes and gnats making it much more enjoyable to leave sliding glass doors open. I call her Charlotte the Gatekeeper!

MaryAnn, brown recluse spiders are NOT to be taken lightly! I have a friend who lost a foot after years of suffering from a brown recluse spider bite. They are deadly. The venom eats away your skin. Please have them get a reputable exterminator ASAP!

The house is empty—both are long gone. Yes, the bites on areas with little flesh, (feet, ankles, etc), can be devastating. A relative was bitten on her thigh. The flesh necrotized to about the size of a 1/2 dollar piece but she recovered.

I am happy to hear she recovered as they are dangerous along with black widows. The house has been reclaimed by nature. If you were close to your former inlaws, I am sorry to hear they are no longer with us.

I don't even kill them inside. Any other insect indoors: Buh-bye. Annoyed by the frass they drop, but on the other hand, that makes it easy to see where they've been (and presumably, where they've been catching prey)

Jeff S's avatar

Don't kill spiders! They are good for the environment. Plus, if you kill one, the zombie body sends out signals to other spiders to warn them of your treachery and to ask them to plot revenge against you, at least that's what my pet Goliath birdeater told me last year.

The bit about the WHO is good news indeed. However, there's a bit more involved. Here is a video of John Campbell talking to James Roguski, the man who is probably, single-handedly, the person that is most knowledgeable on the subject. He explains the chilling reality that just because the US (praise God) has opted out doesn't mean you, the individual, might not find yourself at the mercy of another nation's draconian WHO directives, if you are a traveler. You could end up on a plane being fumigated in person, for example. Or, perhaps, not allowed into a country unless you take a "therapeutic", which you won't discover until you're actually there. Or allowed to deplane if you don't do a thing/take a thing. Etc. The video has the info:

Then best to travel within the US. Enter other countries at your own risk and peril. Italy also has now rejected the amendments!

That part about "needing to take some so-called therapeutic" in order to be in a country is a big reason for me to avoid any international travel. As much as I would love to see some of the great historical and beautiful sites around the world, I do not want to do so at the expense of what I have of my health.

Years ago New Zealand fumigated all planes coming in from overseas. The staff would walk up and down the aisles with aerosol cans spraying until the inside of the plane was completely fogged. They said it was to keep pests out of the country. It smell nice though 😒

Was that with the passengers still on board? And imagine being the employees who have to do this. No one should be breathing insecticides, anywhere, but especially not in a little metal tube.
