Really dangerous. I’d rather drive 50 but they’re cutting down trees and widening so it will be ablaze going west as well.

Just don't drive 50 in the far left lane or the center lane for that matter.

At 80 they pass you like you’re standing still. At 50 they’d go right up your tail pipe.

😎 Highway 50 NOT 50 mph. “…cutting down trees and widening…” the road.

You are a danger if you aren’t keeping up with the flow of traffic. Please stay in the right lane and allow traffic to merge ahead of you. Those white signs that say “Slower traffic keep right” are the law. You can be cited for driving UNDER the posted speed limit. Another option is to take arterial roads. I’m not trying to insult you, please don’t take it that way, but slow traffic is genuinely a safety issue. 🙏🏼

If only they would cite people in CA for driving under the speed limit on the freeways. We have idiots who move into the carpool lane and drive slower than the people in the regular lanes. Instead of pulling those people over, they’ll cite you for 5 mph over the speed limit. Or when trucks drive in the far left lane. Dude! No!

You do know that Interstates were built for trucks, don’t you? Interstate commerce. Those trucker pay more taxes than you do, so. Dude, drive in the left lane all you want. Cars, stay in the middle lanes.

They weren’t just built for interstate commerce. ( https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/interstate/history.cfm)

The 405 is a 10 lane freeway. If you’re not driving the max speed limit and you’re slowing people down, I don’t care who you are or what you’re in, you move over. The maximum speed limit for trucks in CA is 55 mph. For cars, it’s 65 mph in some areas, 75 in others, 70 in others, and 55 in others. Honestly, if you aren’t passing, you shouldn’t be in the far left lane anyway. But, no, trucks should not be in the far left lane.

And the tickets in CA are hefty.

For whatever reason, substack isn’t allowing me to edit my comment:

The speed limit varies on highways for cars: 55, 65, 70, 75, depending on where you are.

Sounds like that Ron White comedy bit where he talks about the various speed limits: "Cause having everybody drive the same speed limit, going the same direction, .... just... doesn't... make... sense." 😂🤣

Why would we want to do that? It’s CA after all.
