I know! So many people in the country are such fools. All hell would probably break loose, possibly followed by martial law. I was walking my dog and I heard a woman talking on her phone laughing and saying “Damn, they missed him again.” How stupid, ignorant, and evil can you get? These are the people “ saving democracy “? Even if she hates Trump that much, would she really like to live through a Civil War? Meanwhile, the globalists and all of the people who want to destroy Western democracies would love it if the United States would break out in a Civil War. Or should I say a hot Civil War. Even Bill Maher came out and chastised his audience after the first assassination attempt. Have people always been this stupid and we just never noticed before? Not to mention full of hate?

They have always been this way. MSNBC and the White House are actively encouraging this so that there will be no election. They are trying their best. I am thinking things about this that I do not want to think about my country or what is going on. This is very chilling. And God bless Gov. DeSantis for doing an independent investigation. The bastards will stonewall him but I hope he gets somewhere. We are headed to a civil war. I think this is the trajectory and this is what the Democrats want - just like last time. The stupid woman on her phone is not alone. There is no reconciliation possible with such people. Sorry to be so pessimistic. I can’t believe we are living through this right in front of our eyes.

Politico Phil's avatar

Unfortunately, we haven't had a republic since at least 1860 when the proto-Nazi Lincoln declared war on HALF of America inaugurating the greatest slaughter of Americans in history. This was formalized in 1913 and all we have now is an Empire of Oligarchs and NeoCons.

The seeds for this were sown by George Washington and his fellow conspirators at the Philadelphia Convention which overthrew the Articles of Confederation in a bloodless coup. (Fun fact: look up how many Presidents we had prior to Washington.) Patrick Henry, a God-fearing patriot of the Revolution, was invited to the Convention and declined saying, "I smell a rat in Philadelphia."

The attendees to the Convention took a Masonic self-maledictory oath to never reveal the proceedings of the Convention. This in itself is an anti-Christian oath to take. And they did and they all took that knowledge to their grave. And why would they do this if it was all about liberty and Biblical principles? Some things never change. They had to control the narrative and keep the proceedings secret from the public so they could sell their "Constitution" to the American people without their knowledge of what actually transpired. I.E., it was a psy-ops. People conveniently forget that George Washington was a 33rd Degree Mason and the Cornerstone for the Capital Building was laid by Washington in a Masonic Ceremony, not a Christian ceremony. This event is depicted in a tapestry that hangs in the Capital Building.

I challenge anyone to sit down and read the Declaration of Independence side by side with the US Constitution. Do you notice the disconnect? The Declaration begins and ends with reference to God and His Law and with a firm reliance upon Divine Providence. Why is there NO REFERENCE to God or His Word in the Constitution? None at all. If we are a "Christian people", why is there no acknowledgement of God's Providence in the Constitution? I think the reason is self-evident.

American's have been living in the fog of a lie in regards to our origins and have never honestly examined our history. Rather, we have believed the picture that was painted for us and, like Israel of old, rather than being ruled by God we wanted "a king like the nations around us."

This is how we now find ourselves at the steps of judgement and found wanting.

Daniel 5:26

This is the interpretation of each word. MENE: God has numbered your kingdom, and finished it; 27 TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting; 28 PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”

I think we have been in a Civil War (by other means) for a very long time. Only the means and the wide spectrum of attacks is very much obvious post-2020. It's everything from border invasion, the food supply tainting, the injection terror compaign, false flag domestic attacks, BLM-type proxy armies, burning down sections of cities, direct energy weapons testing on the West Coast and in Hawai. You can even add your own items to the list, things like weaponized fiat money and inflation. All added up, it sure looks like an all out war on us, regular people just trying to work and save a bit of money.

I had a family member a LONG time ago talking to me about 911 "conspiracies", oklahoma city "conspiracies", future forced vaccinations. Back then I was just dumb, fat and happy (not really fat... actually in really good shape LOL) but you get what I'm saying. As a pharma insider, it took watching them all lie to my face... pharma, doctors, CDC, the governer of my state, NIH, etc... to wake up. My question became "what else have they lied about?" At that point I had to go back through my entire life and start researching and deciding what was true and what was a lie. Based on my findings, it was I lie unless I can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the truth. There is only one truth and that is Jesus Christ

'Fat, Dumb and Happy', How often did I hear my dad say, 'There he sits ... fat, dump and happy', and often applied to distracted in traffic drivers who failed to notice that the traffic light had changed from green to red.

I had the fortune to know some prominent Americans in the dissident culture of the 1980's and going forward. For example, my mom new some financial people and that's how I met Eustace Mullens. And I knew the author of The Dispossed Majority (Humprey Ireland/Wilmot Robertson) through his brother George. Plus my mom knew some other folks. And then again, folks once met know other folks. And so I had some access to 'hot' information not commonly readily accessible before the advent of the Internet. And even so, and back then, I did not know the full extent of the corrupting of America from what it was supposed to be or was alleged to be. And since the whole running of the Western World is done largely by subterfuge, I propably still only see a very large part of the tip of the exposed iceberg. But as much as I know, I'd say that you are largely on the mark.

The most odd, the most unable to be predicted aforehand part of my life, is my conversion to orthodox Christianity as was understood by the Reformation era reformers ... and very much as one reads in Pilgrim Progress, one of the greatest books ever written. And therefore, I am in accord with you as to truth as far as it is possible for me to discern. Christ is the lamp of light, and the world is as described in Scripture.

Riding the monthly 500 mile trip home yesterday, after hearing of this new attempt, I thought to renew my acquaintance with the Tafari Campbell death in July '23. So many lies. Died in 8' of water? But the Massachusetts environmental data say that pond is 4' deep on average. Allowing for the existence of some small tidal effect, the depth still could not have been the 8' that some newsbites claimed. Although a child can indeed drown in 2" of water in a 5-gallon bucket--if too small to tip it over--a grown man could stand upright in a 4' pond. To say nothing of the safety rule about never letting go of the boat/kayak/paddle board if one winds up in the water. (btw, aforementioned trip began on a Maine coastal island where we experience 12-13' tides--I am familiar with the twice-daily depth changes of tides). That story sure was memory-holed. And fast. But not before a whole lot of lies became evident.

Having 24 hour political blah, blah, blah has made the average person is *obsessed *. (putting aside that it is biased, as is all the easily seen internet news everywhere you look online). There is literally never anything negative or derogatory about a Democrat, but negative article after article about Republicans, especially Trump and Vance.

An Orthodox saint once said " when you remove God from your heart and soul, it will fill up with other things"..

Bullseye: Americans today, especially the Godless ones, are obsessed with politics and hate.

1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,

3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.

9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

My daughter’s housekeeper / nanny is from the Caribbean islands and she ‘hears’ and ‘sees’ prophecies- take it for what you will - but last December she said that there would be a ‘white-haired man and a woman running for office’. She also kept repeatedly saying that demons and the devil are about. I wrote down her words which took up an entire page. She said they’d be an earthquake in Japan and three weeks late there was one….I can’t say I believe in this stuff but it is rather remarkable.

I agree MM. If Trump ended up shot, fine. If not, so be it, there's tomorrow. They don't want to send their own on a suicide mission, so they use patsies. They probably expected him to be taken out, like Crooks was. Him being captured alive isn't their hoped-for outcome, but they consider it manageable. Everything is manageable when you have their level of control. And, it adds to the chaos.

It's how to precipitate "Great Resets," as described in the first century BC by Polybius. It amazed me when I first read it, and the more so when I realized that the cycle had already occurred so many times by then that it could be described in such detail 2,000+ years ago. I strongly encourage people to read it in full and to consider whether the Color Revolutionists haven't used it as a 'how to.'

The Histories, Book 6 (excerpt, from the Perseus Project)

"So when they begin to be fond of office, and find themselves unable to obtain it by their own unassisted efforts and their own merits, they ruin their estates, while enticing and corrupting the common people in every possible way. By which means when, in their senseless mania for reputation, they have made the populace ready and greedy to receive bribes, the virtue of democracy is destroyed, and it is transformed into a government of violence and the strong hand. For the mob, habituated to feed at the expense of others, and to have its hopes of a livelihood in the property of its neighbours, as soon as it has got a leader sufficiently ambitious and daring, being excluded by poverty from the sweets of civil honours, produces a reign of mere violence. Then come tumultuous assemblies, massacres, banishments, redivisions of land; until, after losing all trace of civilisation, it has once more found a master and a despot.

"This is the regular cycle of constitutional revolutions, and the natural order in which constitutions change, are transformed, and return again to their original stage. If a man have a clear grasp of these principles he may perhaps make a mistake as to the dates at which this or that will happen to a particular constitution; but he will rarely be entirely mistaken as to the stage of growth or decay at which it has arrived, or as to the point at which it will undergo some revolutionary change."

The entirety of what remains of Book 6, from a different source, easier to read, as it's all in one document:

Especially since deranged Routh was told by "someone" to be there at an unscheduled, last minute golf game. Granted, anyone at the golf club or watching the #1 tee box could have tipped him off and it takes about an hour to play 5 holes of golf. So enough time to get there (question when and how did he get near Mar-a-lago in the hours or days before the attempt). It says the shooter was 400 yards away so probably along the fairway of hole 6. A scoped AK at 400 yards in a no wind condition is a plausible shot, although not a gimme (using golf speak). But if he waited until Trump was on the #6 fairway and much closer - say 100-200 yards almost a guarantee even for an average rifleman - if the rifle and the scope were properly mated and "zeroed" and the gunner was properly trained in target acquisition, trigger squeeze, proper breathing technique, etc.

Sincerely, thank God for protecting Trump from the satanic evil all around him and us.

So I agree, they may have hit the plates, or his plates and if they were only using pistol ammunition (likely), the plates would perform quite well depending on the type of plate. Level 3 and 3A is pretty good, Level 4 is very good and can stop most small arms like 7.62 mm.

Here's the lyrics, powerful!

Lyrics

They're burnin' the country down with their progressiveness

It started with changing what gender is

Then graduated to you're racist if you think

That your life matters and your skin don't have melanin

They don't want peace, they want skeletons

They want men to pretend that they're feminine

They don't want an election, they got so offended by freedom

That they just tried killin' the president

I used to think that the woke were misguided

But now I can see that they're evil

Twitter is angry that Trump isn't dead, you know who got shot? Innocent people

Thought y'all were tolerant? Thought we were equals?

I thought you valued how everyone feels?

Then why are y'all celebrating an attempted assassination like you're part of Antifa?

Thank God the left can't aim

Thank God the right don't riot

Welcome to the home of the brave

Freedom ain't afraid of violence

You wish he was dying

Bitch, you missed

Thank God the left can't aim

Why can't we just shoot straight?

Y'all are goin' insane

Bitch, you missed

There's no one else you can blame

Tried to lock him up in a cage

Now you tryna kill what you hate

Bitch, you missed

Told us, "Trust the science, " but it never made sense to me

Why would we put all our trust in the enemy?

Millions of people are hooked on amphetamines

They're making billions on untested remedies

Borders are open to people with felonies

Biden can't stop 'em, he don't have the energy

Y'all wanna kill the man trying to fight for a better tomorrow by making him Kennedy?

I tried to give y'all a chance, like, "Maybe the left isn't nuts, " I was wrong

'Cause y'all are exactly as crazy as every conservative person I know said you were all along

Wanna protest? Go hard

Wanna burn flags? Go off

But y'all are so triggered that you're pulling triggers at presidents

Y'all the terrorists when you're armed

Thank God the left can't aim

Thank God the right don't riot

Welcome to the home of the brave

Freedom ain't afraid of violence

You wish he was dying

Bitch, you missed

Thank God the left can't aim

Why can't we just shoot straight?

Y'all are goin' insane

Bitch, you missed

There's no one else you can blame

Tried to lock him up in a cage

Now you tryna kill what you hate

Bitch, you missed

Good catches, Daniel. I at first thought what a poor choice of weapons for a 300-500 yard shot. AKs are great weapons, I've noticed we always lose against opponents armed with AKs. But they're not for 300-500 yard sniping. Sure, it's possible to make such a shot, but why not use a real sniper rifle if that were the plan. Then I realized, as you did, his intention was to wait until the Trump party was on the fairway in front of him. Which is a perfectly appropriate scenario for an AK. Also, I wonder if there's a reason the two primary "assault rifles" available to the public in semi-auto form, AK and AR, just happen to be the weapons used in two out of two assassination attempts. Call me a conspiracy-theorist, but could it be to increase support for banning them?

https://www.ammunitiontogo.com/lodge/762x39-ballistics/

AK, sighted in at 100 yards drops 26, 67, and 135 inches (over 11 feet!) at 300, 400, 500 yards respectively.

AK, sighted in at 200 yards drops 15, 42, and 96 inches (8 feet) at 300, 400, 500 yards respectively.

AKs are more commonly sighted in at 100 yards, not being designed for long ranges.

Expand full comment
Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Yes, those ballistics are why the AK sucks, the bullet is heavy and slow. You and your scope have to account for all that drop.

FTR, the 5.56 round drops too. But the 55 grain 5.56 leaves the muzzle at about 3100 FPS, so it arrives much sooner than the 7.62x54 (2785 FPS) and the 7.62x39 (2350 FPS). One of the biggest improvements was adding the ACOG scope which, when used with the 55 grain ball ammo (it was specifically built for the 55 gr bullet), allows the firer to put effective fire on a target out to 800 yards (some will say meters, but close enough).

Expand full comment
Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Oh, yes, most definitely, what better way to gain support of those who are completely anti-gun control then try to kill our man with one of them. Everyone must resist the psyop.

And this guy was a complete dipshit, another reason he, or someone, chose the AK.

FTR, given the choice between AK-47 and AR15, scoped, zeroed, trained and ready in modified prone position - I will ALWAYS take the AR15. 100% of the time. It is why it has been the small arm of the US military since the mid 60s. The improvements they have incrementally made and the ACOG (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) have made it a very formidable weapon for the mid range and even out to 800 yards for advanced gunner/sniper.

Expand full comment
Fla Mom's avatar

Friendly edit: Please don't call the military weapon the AR-15; those who don't know better (apparently including Tim Walz) will say the civilian version AR-15 is the 'weapon of war' that should be banned.

Expand full comment
Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

You are correct, the AR15 is not the M16, although the only real difference (notwithstanding barrel quality, etc) is the selector switch and internal mechanics which would allow the firer to fire full auto (cyclic rate of about 600 rds per minute), but now limits the M4 (newest variant of the M16 platform) to a 3 round burst. Which is good for saving lots of ammo and still getting rounds effectively on target.

The bigger issue, in my mind anyhow, is their mischaracterization of it as an "Assault Rifle". AR stands for Armalite Rifle, the original manufacturer of the "meanie black rifle". In Army Lexicon it is considered a "small arm".

Expand full comment
Fla Mom's avatar

Roger on all that. Most people know very little. I just found out that the rifle used is now reported as being a 7.62x39mm SKS with a black synthetic stock. Apparently, the SKS was available during the 10 years of the "assault weapons" ban, and it was also used by the congressional baseball shooter.

Thanks, I will go see it.

Another MUST see is Reagan, an accurate account of Reagan's life and times. It will have tears streaming down your face at the end of the movie.

Consider this, we claimed victory over communism at that time but they dont fight in a four year presidential cycle, they fight with decades long planning and infiltration... see Sun Tzu's Art of War.

What we are experiencing is at least four decades of preparation to steal our country with mail in ballot fraud, programmable machines, corrupt judges and the pLandemic.

Connecting the dots:

a. Late 80s, early 90s: Permanent early voting for any reason implemented in key states.

b. 2008: Statutes such as Arizona's Revised Statute (ARS) 16-168 are created. Info in the databases violate our constitutional right to a secret vote. ARS 16-168(j) Creates a “Vendor Managed”, Statewide Database at the AZ SOS of ALL voter registrations:

• Name in Full

• Party Preference

• Date of registration

• Residence Address

• Mailing Address

• Zip code

• Telephone #

• Birth Year and Date

• Occupation if Given

• Voting History for all elections in prior 4 years

• All data relating to early voters, including ballot requests and ballot returns

On request from a county chairman or state chairman, the county recorder of a county with a

population of more than eight hundred thousand persons shall provide at no cost a daily listing of persons who have returned their early ballots. The daily listing shall be provided Mondays through Fridays, beginning with the first Monday following the start of early voting and ending on the Monday (The EVE) before the election.

c. Around 2015, in some places earlier, some later, County Supervisors implement programmable voting machines, against our will and without our Constitutional consent (see AZ Consti ART 4, Part 1, Sec 1, all sub paragraphs and specifically sub par 8) - but not enough steal in 2016 and Trump is elected against all odds and their planned manipulation of the election, to the dismay of poor, stinking, corrupt, marxist hillary and those who manage her.

d. Covid pLandemic initiated in the run-up to the 2020. Concocted "Health Emergency" allows them to change the election to almost all mail in. Mail in is massive wholesale fraud because there is never required chain of custody in the entire process nor is signature ID a valid identification process and is a 14th Amendment Equal Protection Clause violation. They steal 2020 with massive mail in fraud and corrupt judges who dismiss cases on standing instead of merit.

e. In the run up to the 2022 election, corrupt Az Secretary of State Katie Hobbs implements the Online Voter Registration Unique URL Program (you can see it here, it is still live and functioning under corrupt Adrian Fontes, (the cartel lawyer who was seated unlawfully when Katie Hobbs was seated unlawfully, and Kris Mayes seated unlawfully as AG in 2022 - they covered all the bases) https://azsos.gov/elections/candidates/unique-url

This program allows NGO's to circumvent the lawful processing of voter registrations mandated to the County Recorder, allowing them and the Sec of State to pack the voter registration rolls full of illegal immigrants and other multiple personalities. Using this and the wholesale fraud of mail in ballots and programmable machines they steal 2022 and now you know why there was no "red wave" in 2022. Remember, they used corrupt judges to throw out valid election challenge lawsuits.

None of this has been deconstructed, in fact they have made it stronger, more bullet proof. This system took decades to implement under the radar.

They will use it to steal 2024 as they have no plan to return the country to us.

One other thought, hopefully happier, four decades... about the same amount of time it took God to get Trump equipped, experienced, knowledgeable of the evil and ready for this task.

My understanding is that it’s a commercial made in Ukraine in 2022 funded by Blackrock, not a commercial FOR Blackrock directly. They are big on supporting Ukraine with plenty conflict of interest. Blackrock CEO Larry Fink has taken all Ukranian farmland in exchange for rebuilding Ukraine. He knows they are the breadbasket of Europe.

The thing is they have too many ties to those wanting Trump dead and good reason to do so. The oddity that both shooters are in commercials funded by Blackrock is more than just a coincidence. It certainly bears pointing out and looking into.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

All - if you haven't heard it, Megyn Kelly had a show on last night in the immediate hours after the incident. All of it was good to hear, but she had Real Clear Politics writer Susan Crabtree on at the end for about 30 minutes during which time Crabtree talked about the Butler investigation and dove deep into the dysfunction of the USSS. Well-worth the time. You will hear stuff that is equal parts maddening and incredible like how the current acting director, Rowe, actually informed agents they were not to wear red ties while protecting Trump as it may indicate they support him. I am not kidding. This is the kind of crap they were concerned with - not evaluating threats, just worried about red ties. This guy Rowe was also the instrumental in refusing repeated requests for increased security. Give it a listen. She's on all the podcast platforms and YouTube. She talks about former director Cheadle too and how she had absolutely no business being in the leadership role.

P.S. I find the "red tie prohibition" interesting because I was commenting to my husband the other day that it seemed like several of the agents (who appear to be mostly men now) all had red ties on. Maybe they are ignoring Rowe's directive??

Well one thing is encouraging: X news is definitely reliable and better than MSM. I spent the week perusing X and all the notable news was thoroughly covered by citizen journalists and most were pretty darn accurate, way more than the MSM. The only thing to watch out for are all the democrats that like to derail every post. They lie A LOT. Like repeatedly claiming both Trump shooters are Republican - despite all the evidence to the contrary plastered all over. They still even this morning claim this and say our own people are the killers. It’s concerning because if so many people hadn’t screenshot Routh’s entire X account before they took it down people would be left with not knowing who to believe.

It’s encouraging that X is keeping us afloat. It’s reliable. The ABC affidavit story was broken on X by a guy who hasn’t been wrong yet. They mercilessly tried to discredit his story when he was announcing it was coming, but all I could think is how none of his stories have been wrong yet. Then he posts the receipts and it was a doozy.

Anyway, if you stuck with the first level on comments and never go into the next level if any comment, usually you can avoid the haters. I think they hide layers in and do their smarmy arguing there so they don’t get bombasted as badly as they otherwise would. Stick with the first level of comments and don’t go deeper. That’s my advice to use it with sanity.

Well they don’t exactly have direct access to the servers. It requires cooperation from the Zuckerbergs (who complied immediately) and the Musks, (who waited a lonnng time giving us all a chance to screenshot and tape before it came down.) The fact that many are criticizing Musk over taking it down is shortsighted and unfair. There are certain situations and laws that he must comply with. But how is another story and he did his best in delaying what he knew he had to do so that the content would be preserved and not wholly manipulated by the government, which is the case with the content on Meta/Facebook.

If a platform is government owned they can act with expediency. That’s why they want control over all these platforms. 1984 in our faces and Zuckerberg is a pawn. But musk is not and they could not control how fast he complied. God bless him.

Right. That includes overweight. But obesity starts much lower than people think. You do not have to be gigantic to qualify as obese. Check out the BMI tables, which give a good general idea of where you stand, unless you are a bodybuilder. If you carry a tremendous amount of muscle, but are very lean, the BMI tables can show you in the overweight category, but there is no way you would be in the obesity category unless you were carrying a lot of fat.

Other questions for DeSantis' investigation to ask:

1- How close was this SS agent to the shooter's position when he took (a) shot(s)? If he spotted the barrel of a rifle sticking out of some brush, it must have been close.

2- Did the SS agent have a rifle or a handgun?

3- How did a trained SS agent miss, and on how many shots?

4- Was the agent a DEI hire?

5- Will Routh now be put on suicide watch?

I hope DeSantis' investigation can pry into how Routh knew Trump would be playing golf yesterday.

Expand full comment
Jeff C's avatar

Appreciate the Governor states that Florida will do it's own investigation, but he needs to do more than that. He needs to make it clear that Florida will LEAD the investigation. The state won't defer to the Feds and just hand over the suspect or evidence without a long drawn out court battle.

The Feds will demand all of it, and usually the states or municipalities will just roll over under the supremacy clause. DeSantis needs to make clear that won't be happening here as this isn't business as usual. Attempted murder is a state crime after all, and the Feds have shown they are completely corrupt.

We'll see if DeSantis really means it or not by where the would-be murderer ends up in custody. I suspect the Feds will have him in days unfortunately.

Edit: And DeSantis needs to immediately transfer the shooter out of Palm Beach County custody and move him to state facility run by people he trusts. Counties are administrative subdivisions of the state and have no sovereignty so he can do whatever he wants. States on the other hand, are semi-sovereign entities themselves under the Constitution.

Expand full comment
Politico Phil's avatar

Exactly!!! The States need to wrestle back control from the Marxist Feds at every opportunity.

As for "Thank Heaven for Governor DeSantis", I will echo that when I see what DeSantis actually does. At this point, I trust NO MAN.

Expand full comment
Jeff C's avatar

DeSantis has three choices:

1) Automatic federal deference under the supremacy clause (business as usual)

2) No deference citing some (perhaps made up) legal precedent thus forcing the Feds to sue Florida in federal court (where Florida will eventually lose)

3) Refuse any deference period. Although the optics would be terrible for Biden this would likely result in an armed federal raid of Florida LEO or court facilities

Seems like #2 is no a no-brainer if DeSantis is serious and playing the long game. Force the feds to sue for every concession thus making clear Florida will not play along with the Feds cover up. Plus it gives them more time to pursue leads without Fed interference.

So who has the shooter now? I'm sure the Feds have already demanded custody. Did DeSantis hand him over or not? If he did then we know it's #1 and this is all just grandstanding. Anyone can announce an investigation, my local police department could and I'm 2500 miles away. It doesn't mean anything unless DeSantis is will to use his state's sovereignty to hold the Feds accountable.

Ultimately I think this is just red meat for the rubes and DeSantis will issue a report six months from now that does nothing.

Expand full comment
daverkb's avatar

The honest answer is that none of us know more than nothing, once again, add up? Like were did the shooter get the gun. Hawai? West Coast? Florida? And what address is attached to the shooters name? Even his own name?

And where does a presumably loser broke kind of man get all the loot to travel around the world, and involve himself in all of his extra-carriculer activity?

And how does anyone show up at the right time, the place just in time to take pot shots. Mar-a Lago out to be an easer site to police than maybe some others?

Expand full comment
Politico Phil's avatar

I expect the same (but hoping to be "disappointed"). Just like the "Grand Jury investigation" of the bio-weapon, all optics, deflection and delay tactics.

Expand full comment
Jeff C's avatar

If DeSantis was serious he would have done the following:

- Announce that the investigation will be taken over by the State Police with a task force answering to him (his own Hawaii Five-O so to speak), not local law enforcement

- Announce that the prosecution will be by the State Attorney General, not the Palm Beach County DA, and the crime is attempted murder under the Florida Penal Code.

- Announce that federal deference will be considered on a case by case basis at the state level and that local officials are not authorized to grant it. It will not be automatically granted., but only granted by specific individuals named by the Governor or AG.

- Lay out the authority under state law that allows this.

The fact that he's done nothing like this (as far as I can tell) makes me think this is all well-meaning theater and not serious actions.

Aronberg works for DeSantis, he can say anything he wants and it really doesn't mean anything. He may have just been shooting of his mouth, DeSantis is the Chief Executive of the state.
