Lmao!! As a Canadian, the first thing I did was to tell Carney to go jump in Lake America!😂😂😂

First: Canada is more about steel from China than anything else, plus it is an ETT - easy troll target.

Second, the oil move in Venezuela will prove to be one of the greatest 27D chess moves since the Louisiana purchase

Third, I wrote a tribute to George Patton. Enjoy. https://torrancestephensphd.substack.com/p/george-s-patton-was-a-better-man

Kaycee's avatar

and if they buy steel from China, under their new deal and Canada backing out of the North American Free Trade Alliance (I think that is what it is, was on Beck's show on Thursday I believe) they will be able to rebrand the China steel as made in Canada so no one will know what is Canadian produced steel or Chinese - if Canada will even continue production. . .

Facts. Wonder why nobody can peep Canada's game. We need more cats like trump and Patton if you asked me. Do chk this out. I think you would like this. https://shorturl.at/gwTFl

Strong support for your position. I just cannot verify. You chk out my piece on him?

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

You are precisely correct Torrence, and that's a great write up on Patton! The OIL? Yeah, yuge, no YUGE!!!!! Its hard to overestimate what he just did to the world energy market and creates a bigger WIN WIN connection between North and South America. No longer can the rotten corrupt globalists/City of London scum bags use the Middle East to create crisis after crisis for us. Part of his brilliant plan for our part of the world.

While it says a lot about Patton, it is also about the history of the "colored" tank battalions who fought in three areas during WWII. Fascinating, including how the black soldiers were treated after the war. And a reminder that no matter what the progressives say, racial elations in America have gotten better and better (but Obama was NOT the first black president; Martin Van Buren was. Seriously. The same man who told me the story below also told me that Van Buren had some black blood, which, back then, made him black, and that the only reason he became president was that the telegraph system had not yet reached the West coast.

I'll also recommend the book, "The Color of Law," about how racial discrimination was pushed not by the people living together, but by local governments. The book recounts what an older black friend, whose grandfather had been a slave, told me. As a child growing up in segregated Louisiana, he asked his grandfather, "Was it always like this?" His grandfather said, "No, we all went to bed and woke up one day to find these signs all over the place," i.e., the "colored only" signs.

In other words, it's true: governments (there is no one "the government") do try to divide us.

Speaking of which, in the 2020 census, faced with the list of ethnicities into which to fit myself, I, as a dog rescuer and dog fan who'd learned the proper name for a mutt, checked the box "Other," and filled in the blank with "All American." Meanwhile, on the opposite coast, a 20-something black/African-American woman from Tennessee (I was a 66-yo white/European-American from California) had done exactly the same thing: checked "Other" and filled in "All-American.

By the 2030 census, if "the government" hasn't gotten rid of that section, let's try to get everyone to check "other" and fill in "All-American,"

Margot Wooster's avatar

On the census, I checked “Other” and wrote “CHRISTIAN”.

I’m still laughing at “Clarence”. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 My smile is so wide, Jeff. You do it every morning!!!

Reasonable Horses's avatar

Clarence would be a great lake name! Clear and profoundly deep, often coldly placid, and yet capable of powerful storms.

Who knew prim and proper Canada only recently renamed a peak Anû Kathâ Îpa for general admission? At least wild west Montana, staying abreast of French-American history, had the decency to subtly name their mountains the magnificent Grand Tetons. Not to milk the point, but even the rude and rowdy Texas Hill Country was demure enough to whisper “Shhh . . . call them the Twin Sister Mountains.”

Maha's avatar

Michigan comes from the Ojibwe word mishigami, meaning "large water". Seems like the woke habit of "indigenous" names was in force a long time ago...Many states are names from native words. Where I used to live in Washington State, most everything is derived from the Salish languages, in fact, the Left there call Puget Sound "The Salish Sea". They, of course, also start every meeting with a land invocation...

Timothy Duerksen's avatar

I REALLY like the ShadowRun roleplaying system; in it, the Native Americans have claimed the Pac and Con NW as their own lands and enforce that claim using native magic.

Just saying, FASA understood that corner of the USA a long time ago! Now the rights are owned by Hasbro, and they are NOT innovating on the Native concepts! Just makes you wonder how progressive the social progressives really are?

Maha's avatar

Well, I am unfamiliar with the ShadowRun roleplaying system, but social progressives are societal tinkerers who usually make fools of themselves and creating more divisiveness than they attempt to remedy.

Riff Raffer's avatar

I said years ago that Canada will become part of America. That script was written. Now it’s only a question of when & how. I’ve suggested before that PDJT should annex Canada & make it a territory. MAGA Canadians & the US win big, and as a territory, there will be no danger of libtards shifting red to blue in congress & senate…

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

Problem is that the Canucks would not assimilate. "White" Americans have 3 times as much black admixture as white Europeans and Canadians are like Europeans. Canadians have greater life expectancy, lower obesity rates, at least equal and oftern greater physical fitness and consistently higher rankings on cross-national IQ tests. They have higher educational standards and higher levels of educational achievement. They have lower violent crime rates. Despite being a more desirable country to live in, as reflected by repeatedly winning awards for having some of the world's most livable cities, they have a far lower rate of illegal immigration. Why would they want to give any of that up to become a shithole?

Timothy Duerksen's avatar

Wait, your name claims you are "Awake."

Who put together those statistics you just referenced? Who gave out those awards for something so subjective as "most livable cities?" Who got to define "violent crime rates?" (Just look at how the origination of those statistics is constantly debated here in the US; they are not NEARLY as concrete as you seem to be assuming!)

Physical fitness, really? Where is your source on that one? That feels incredibly made up.

I don't deny your position on education, but we currently have a president doing everything in his power to revamp that issue. As a TEACHER, I can't wait for Trump 3.0 (which IS legal! Look it up,) to completely remove the NEA.

IQ tests? I blew through what MENSA had to offer after they tried to get me to join, and rejected them. Not sure that IQ has ANYTHING to do with ANYTHING. It is a subjective bar set by the Meritocracy to support their own desserts and deny anybody they feel isn't "smart enough."

Please prove your handle is true and start questioning your sources.

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

Timothy,

How charming that a self-proclaimed MENSA reject who “blew through” their offer now declares IQ “subjective” and a tool of the meritocracy. One wonders whether the tests simply failed to flatter the correct self-image. National IQ results drawn from standardization samples (WAIS-IV Canadian norms yielding roughly 102–104 relative to a US mean of 97.4) and large-scale scholastic assessments that correlate strongly with general intelligence have repeatedly placed Canada a few points above the United States. That is not a conspiracy of the “meritocracy”; it is what the data show when the same instruments are applied across borders.

In the 2019 study "The Intelligence of Nations" by Richard Lynn and David Becker, the obtained national mean IQ score is 97.43  for the United States, below Canada and far below Communist China. 100 is the global mean. Anything below 100 is subnormal.

These scores are scaled relative to a global psychometric baseline where standard international reference norms are roughly indexed

Riff Raffer's avatar

To AwakeNotWoke…. Have you actually been to Canada lately? The government probably invented those bogus stats to have the vocal minority of “elbows-up” libtards screeching for them. We have cultural enrichers robbing, raping & trafficking young children. Beaches covered in shit. Mosques blasting out calls to prayers in some cities - although the outrage has been loud enough to get them shut down… so far. We have highly vetted, legal gun owners penalized for defending themselves from home invaders. Sikhs parade around wearing fucking swords while we are stripped of every ability to defend ourselves. Fuck that sanctimonious made up government propaganda. Canadians everywhere have had enough. God bless America & God bless President Trump.

Have you not studied the situation? Air campaigns alone have never won a war. We can't put boots on the ground as we are severely outnumbered, not to mention it would be on foreign soil, rugged and mountainous, surrounded by a lot of proxies who don't want us there, no good way to resupply as we don't have control of any shoreline, etc. the list goes on.

The only long-term thing about this is that it would be another forever war that we spend trillions on that we do t have.

Trump loves to troll and, once again, all the usual suspects fell for it. He doesn’t really give a shit if it’s Lake Ontario or Lake America, he does it for the inevitable overreaction. And it happens, every, single, time.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

No doubt, he does it to F with them but at the same time, I also think it is push back in EVERY WAY POSSIBLE to restore the greatness of America. To tell those who seek to destroy her, that no, that's not going to happen, in fact, we will make the country bigger and better than ever before, in spite of those who still seek to destroy it. Lake America, the Gulf of America - I love it.

Joanie Higgs's avatar

I'm Canadian and agree with you, but a quick search just taught me that the Province of Ontario took its name from the Lake, not the other way 'round. Because the word Ontario derives from "the Iroquoian language family that translates to "great lake," "beautiful lake," or "sparkling water"." So in that regard, it's more than superficial to the Province to have the Lake's name changed to whatever else. Even though I'm in favour (note my insistent extra vowel ha ha) of Trump's motivations for the re-name.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Hey Joanie,

In that case, I think they should go ahead and rename the province to America too. So, then, wouldn't it be America, Canada!!?? :-)

Joanie Higgs's avatar

Ha ha! I guess it would.

Rockville Mom's avatar

So Ontario is Iroquoian? Weren’t they a particularly bloodthirsty tribe? Exceptionally violent and tortured to death a number of missionaries? Are Canadians and Progressives ok with that?

Linda Whitney's avatar

Oh-oh, Rockville. You said a no-no. Native peoples were all innocent and noble until bad white people subdued and colonized the poor things.

And don’t forget that land acknowledgment statement next time.

Canadians and Progressives are ok with that because they ignore the truth. Thank you for bringing it up. It’s always refreshing in the idiotic quagmire of twisted history.

Maha's avatar

Of course. The Iroquois were "first people's"! Well, actually they came along and displaced anyone who happened to be there, and were a strong enough group to hold on to what they conquered.--But let's not delve too much into that.

Anyway, as "first people", the left gives them a pass for brutality and ritual torture. I mean, everybody did it, right?

Linda Whitney's avatar

Yes, Maha.

And let’s go south and look at the Aztec people. They were cannibals who terrorized their neighbors (who were not necessarily peaceful themselves) but today we are told their cannibalism is ok because it was just one of their little religious rituals.

The Spanish are consistently vilified for crushing them, but they did so in part because they were repulsed by their practice of cutting the beating hearts out of fellow human beings and eating them before butchering the rest.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, Catholics did some horrific things. But that does not make primitive sacrificial practices acceptable. The base line problem is human nature itself and our current intelligentsia is so intent on pretending it’s all a construct that they can’t accept the truth.

Maha's avatar

The Spanish were aided by many groups in the region the Aztecs were stealing victims from. The Aztecs were monsters. The Maya were monsters before them.

Genetic records show the warring succession in Mexico reveals complete elimination of male lines. One group would conquer, and all the conquered males were killed.

The history of Mexico after the Entrada was one of mixing. A Spanish soldier may have taken an Indian wife, but their daughter could still pair up with an indigenous male.

Richard Whitney's avatar

''When the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met in 1787 to debate what form of government the United States should have, there were no contemporary democracies in Europe from which they could draw inspiration. The most democratic forms of government that any of the convention members had personally encountered were those of Native American nations. Of particular interest was the Iroquois Confederacy, which historians have argued wielded a significant influence on the U.S. Constitution.''

I find it hilariously ironic to see these comments from people who usually strenuously defend the Constitution.

Anyone who thinks Trump's war on Iran is about Terrorists, Islam, Nuclear Weapons, or anything other than PROFITS needs to hurry up and take the red pill.

Every bad thing that has happened to Iran since the end of WW2, the wars, the dictators, the oppression, the invasions, the Mullahs, the droughts, has all been orchestrated and manipulated by City of London, using their private military attack dogs, the U.S.

All because Iran kicked British Petroleum out of Iranian oil fields after WW2. So City of London, the financial headquarters of the Evil, had the U.S. overthrow that Iranian government and gave Iraq everything it needed to invade Iran. Forcing decades of war and oppression onto the Iranian people.

British Petroleum is coming for Iranian oil. And when the Iranians started building weapons, Trump imposed sanctions on them.

And when they persisted Trump bombed them.

And then Trump attacked Iran.

Larry Johnson did a good outline (obviously written before the war) titled:

"Iran Does Not Hate Americans… But it Has Legitimate Reasons to Do So"

https://larrycjohnson.substack.com/p/iran-does-not-hate-americans-but?

"Well, look, we're making a lot of money. The defense companies are doing great." - Donald Trump

And who owns the Defense Industry?

City of London.

Maha's avatar

Because the Israelis are a decent nation of people who have never threatened anyone. What they do is repel the attacks of their Islamist neighbors--neighbors largely created by the unprovoked attack by the Arab League in 1948. (Oddly, some Jew haters appear to find that insufferable that they should defend themselves.)

When natural disasters strike, the Israelis are first on the scene to deliver support.

In agriculture, digital technology, and medicine they often lead the world in the advances that allow you to sit there with a computer in front of you.

The notion you would support an Iran with nukes is mind boggling.

Johnny-O's avatar

Israel has never threatened anyone? Ben Givr recently said they should murder 30-40 people every night. Get out of the info silo

Johnny-O's avatar

Iran has superior missile tech and could already pretty much wipe Israel off the map and they haven't. That line of thinking is outdated.

Ray Bob's avatar

Hey Johnny O would you mind informing everyone where you got this information from? do you have access to Top Secret Pentagon info nobody else does here? are you employed by the Iranian government ? do you receive updates from the government of Iran about their stockpiles and their weapons ? Are you a missile expert and if so what are your credentials ? or are you just another brain dead Trump hating moron? I think you're probably just a moron and the only thing to say to morons like you is. SHUT UP, RETARD.

TRM's avatar

Iran developed hypersonic missiles and may already have directional hypersonics. You need to acquaint yourself with Theodore Postol's work. Retired from MIT 6 years back but still one heck of a resource for missile tech and capabilities.

"Top Secret" ?? - LMAO. Publicly available stuff that Ted Postol has been going over for 3+ decades. Do try and keep up with the times will ya.

As to the Iranian stockpiles. The Mullah's plan from 2002 was to do the "Bring 10,000 knives to a gun fight" routine because they were too far behind Israel in nuclear weapons development. Israel already had hydrogen bombs and Iran didn't even have atomic bombs.

They operated under the assumption that they would lose half their missiles in any initial strike and you got less than that. They still wanted the ability to fire daily for 6 months so they over built.

Iran operates on the process of:

1) Telling people what they will do if attacked.

2) Demonstrating their ability to do so.

3) Doing it big time if you still attack.

Johnny-O's avatar

Well for starters it's well known they have hypersonic missiles that work and that they produce. Retard.

I'm going with Matt Walsh on this one and remain baffle why it merits a mention here on C&C (2nd "C" is still Covid, right?).... Yet it seems Dolly remains sacrosanct from pointing out how despite All the Joy and Good she did for the world and we should honor - that doesn't mean its still not valuable to point out no one is perfect and even some of the best of US get it wrong (particularly where the topic ... in the name... is 'Covid'):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjbSWebA3Ko

CStone's avatar

Oh, good grief, Joze, change ypur name to Eeyore. It seems more fitting.

We don’t wallow in covid every day.

Joze's avatar

Eeyore was a fav. Pooh character, so thanks for the suggestion. But NO, I'm not willing to forget what brought me here in the first place nor fret about Trump's distraction with renaming vs. the far more relevant Universal Praise of Dolly - when she might better serve as an example to all.... of what can happen to you if you have a "Dumb Blonde" moment when it really matters.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

It was no dumb blonde moment, it was calculated, go watch the NPR interview and everything else she did during the pLandemic. She willfully took part in the crime against humanity. Don't ever forget that, we wont.

Amen, CStone. Whatever that is obviously doesn't read C&C, nor understand the history and purpose of Childers work, just here to divide and cause trouble. She/He/It/theythem/Dolphin-man should get back to blue sky where it belongs.

Joze's avatar

Dan, when I pay attention to what DNC/DSA proRegressives post I tend to notice that they A)Lie, B)Call names and C) are hypocrites.... I didn't think anyone who considered themselves such a "C&C" expert that they would would say someone "Obviously doesn't read C&C" - would practice the same. CStone recommended I change my name; while yours includes "100% All In MAGA"... Yet you assume I wasn't sitting next to you at the last Trump rally, to instead presume that I suffer from some kind of pronoun dysfunction or that I ever came from "blue sky" in the first place - Just because what? I disagree with Trump's game playing on Lake America? (The "Gulf of America" early on in his term and stick in the eye of the past liberal renaming of everything - was good fun and had certain value... This bullshit in relation to Canada trade agreement is just distraction a childish)... Yes, That means I want a focus on hammering Canada & Carney to balance fair trade; with the longer term goal of what actually matters - $40 Trillion in debt; traitors like Biden/Hunter/Heinz/Kerry being exposed and held to account and YES - anyone who called US cowards for not giving in to their mRNA Shot insanity - being pointed out to those who should be incensed by it at every turn... Hence my sharing the Dolly video clip..... if you don't see the disconnect of that not being shared on Coffee and COVID... while we join in on the Lake Renaming distraction. Then I take it your version of MAGA is to actually be what the proRegressives accuse US of..... Being bootlickers to everything Trump does as 'infallible and golden beautiful'.... No, That is not me - I do think he's the best President ever... but when he says does dumb shit, that doesn't mean I'm "ActBlue".... furthest thing from it (but apparently not far enough - if you are the 'Gold Standard' for "100% MAGA"... Sorry to say, I'd consider myself 100% MAGA - so from my perspective you're being a poor representative of the cause; attacking someone who would otherwise be on your side. Do Better.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Well, I hope you feel better now even if that diatribe should be flushed back to where it came from.

You are all ate up by Trump trolling for some fun while also doing something really good with the massive disparity Canada has been enjoying, I think its great it is now Lake America and that he is undoing decades of Canada ripping us off...

Get over yourself. Do better as you counsel to others. If you are 100% MAGA then act like it, have some fun and leave the Trump bashing to the scumbags you claim not to be.

Joze's avatar

I do feel better, thanks Dan. I'm not the one who falsely assumed things about others and demanded (as you continue to do) that they should go back to where you have Zero clue where I'm coming from. That's OK.... I disagreed with Trump on something - this may be one of the first things actually - but I'm sure that doesn't matter to you (seems its 100% or nothing), I also disagreed with Dolly on something; SO, I guess I'll suffer the high crime of disagreeing with Dan on something too. Have a better day, I will Do Better; and continue to suggest you do too.

This is one of those stories in the Bible that changed my faith into a breathing life changing belief that God is in control of all things! Isn't God grand to let us hear what was going on in the heavenly realms?

...Dan 10: 18"Then the one who looked like a man touched me again, and I felt my strength returning. 19 “Don’t be afraid,” he said, “for you are very precious to God. Peace! Be encouraged! Be strong!”

As he spoke these words to me, I suddenly felt stronger and said to him, “Please speak to me, my lord, for you have strengthened me.”

Thanks for reminding me of these sweet words of Truths! 💜🙌🏼👑🙌🏼✨📖✨💥🫶🏼🌿🦋

I got raked over the coals in my "Today's News" by one reader on this, but I think the logic is legit.

We---the world---go along with stupid and a-historical renaming every day. Ceylon? Sri Lanka. Rhodesia? Zimbabwe. But the big one? Judea="Palestine," a ROMAN made up name to punish the Jews after a revolt. Jews still call this Judea behind closed doors. Arabs in the region call Israel . . . well, . . . nothing because to them it doesn't exist. Naming things is a way of establishing legitimacy, even if not proper. For example, if we were accurate, we'd call Los Angeles "New Azteca," or Chicago "Benghazi-by-the-Lake," or Minneapolis "New Mogadishu."

Oh goodness. That brought back memories of a song with that in it we sang in the late ‘50’s, early ‘60’s….. possibly a Christmas song but of ‘The Huron Carol.’ (Which I sang but doesn’t in luxe the word.) I’ e tried finding it and I’m not having any luck Anyone know what I’m talking about?

Roger Beal's avatar

Brave browser AI to the rescue:

The Huron Carol (originally titled Jesous Ahatonhia, meaning "Jesus, he is born") is widely recognized as Canada’s oldest Christmas carol, likely written in 1642 by Jean de Brébeuf, a Jesuit missionary living among the Huron/Wendat people in present-day Ontario.

Key characteristics and history:

Original Composition: Brébeuf wrote the lyrics in the Wendat language and set them to the melody of the 16th-century French folk song "Une Jeune Pucelle" ("A Young Maid"). The carol was designed to contextualize the Nativity story using imagery familiar to the Wendat, such as describing Jesus as the "Great Spirit" (Gitchi Manitou) and the Magi as "chiefs from afar" bringing fox and beaver pelts.

English Translation: The well-known English version, beginning with "’Twas in the Moon of Wintertime," was translated by Jesse Edgar Middleton in 1926. This version romanticized Indigenous culture, replacing some Wendat terms with Algonquin words like Gitchi Manitou (which is actually Ojibwe, not Wendat).

Cultural Significance: The carol represents an early example of cross-cultural missionary work, blending Wendat musical traditions with Christian theology. Today, it is performed in Wendat, French, and English by various artists, including Loreena McKennitt and Bruce Cockburn.

Controversy: While celebrated as a national treasure, the carol’s history is complex. Critics argue that the lyrics reflect colonial attitudes and the erasure of authentic Wendat culture, particularly in Middleton’s translation, which diverged significantly from Brébeuf’s original intent and linguistic accuracy.

So it sounds like we now have zero need for Middle East oil. Does this mean that we can walk away from the region and let someone else deal with it?

Todd's avatar

Throw in Alberta oil and we're more than unstoppable.

TRM's avatar

Except it was NEVER about the oil. It is what the oil is SOLD for. Iraq, Libya, Venezuela, Iran and Russia were all selling their oil for non-US dollar currencies. The first 3 have been dealt with. All 3 now sell for ONLY US dollars and all the money goes to accounts that the USA controls. Step out of line and "No money for you".

Those last 2 aren't going so well are they? You are losing the reserve currency status and without that you can't fund your military empire.

When you have to use your military to force others to use your currency you are in the reserve currency phase called "Death Spiral". China has said it takes decades but they are long term thinkers.

AwakeNotWoke's avatar

Ah, TRM—spot on about the petrodollar enforcement racket. Iraq, Libya, Venezuela: textbook demonstrations of what happens when you try to price oil in anything but the green paper the Federal Reserve prints. Iran and Russia still holding out is indeed the awkward plot twist the empire didn’t budget for. When the only way to prop up your currency is carrier groups and sanctions, you’re not running a reserve system so much as a protection racket in its terminal phase. China watching the clock while the West checks its phone every five minutes is the real tell.

Still, don’t lose sleep just yet. Word is the 2027 edition of Emmanuel Todd’s "La Défaite de l’Occident" is already in galleys. It will spell out, with the usual French precision, exactly how the degenerate United States finished off the civilisation Europeans spent a millennium building—then swapped out Christianity for the refined theological insight, apparently popular in certain elite US circles, that Jesus spends eternity boiling in excrement. A fitting liturgy for a late empire in decline that long ago traded cathedrals for balance sheets and moral clarity for whatever the latest spreadsheet demands.

Politico Phil's avatar

Awwww... why spoil everyone's fun with REALITY? /s

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Yes, yes, yes! And squeezing the city of london scum too.

GregWA's avatar

Don't just walk away: ramp up production to drive down prices...and Middle East profits. Hurts American producers but after this Iran War winfall they've gotten, time for them to pony up.

$2 gas!

TRM's avatar
3hEdited

Not as easy as you think. It will take decades. You have months.

Polymarket should have a bet on "When will oil return to $2 a gallon".

GregWA's avatar

I agree...big price moves won't happen in months...maybe a year? So, yeah, gotta get past the midterms. Should be the highest priority of Trump and his allies...or even those who aren't allies but love America.

TRM's avatar

A year? In Alberta (tar sands like Venezuela) it takes half a decade to get a heavy oil upgrader working and they haven't had their infrastructure neglected for decades.

A year? Not happening.

GregWA's avatar

I stand corrected...but markets will respond/react faster, right?

Johnny-O's avatar

It's not quite that simple as we lack refining capabilities. But obviously oil markets were far better off before Israel's war that we are fighting for them
