Actually, I believe it was the aluminum smelting industry.

And a BIG thumbs up for RO systems. I've had several in my last 2 houses. I even have one in my bathroom so I can brush my teeth with it. When I travel, I take RO water with me.

We have one on our boat. It can take salt water and make it drinkable at 60 gallons an hour.

We live on a salt river, and I thought about going that route for our water, but I’ve invested in being able to clean up our irrigation well water, which is just a little simpler that what a water maker is. There are times the tide is so low that we’re down to three feet of depth so pulling up water from there would start to get iffy. So I invested in easy water, they guarantee they can make the well water good. I haven’t installed any of it yet. This is to get completely independent of any authority. Like when we get boil water advisories after a hurricane for weeks.

you are correct. they found a way to avoid penalties for dumping their toxic waste in the water supply by getting municipalities to pay them to dump it in the water supply! it's really genius!

we have a special filter for our drinking water, but that doesn't help with showers

Thanks for the update. I wish we could go back to tin foil so I can make myself a proper hat😉
