I made it to the fourth paragraph before I recalled today's date. Because....it IS because of today's date. Right? Right?!

Anyone who has read C&C for any period of time over a year should have expected this from Jeff, yet he's SO GOOD at what he does! 😁

I’ve been reading Jeff for 4 or 5 years, have never missed a post. And yet….. I didn’t clue in til the dog biscuit. Am I proud of my gullibility? No I’m not. 😅

RunningLogic's avatar

Because we could totally see Joe doing that, it isn’t far fetched at all (no pun intended re: the dog lol 😆).

Me too! Been reading for 3 years…he got me! Busted!

I’m reading Jeff’s post at 2am on April 2. That’s my excuse for believing Biden really was hoping to run again and all the snark was Jeff mercilessly making fun of him-All the way up to “April Fools!” Anyone else who believed until the end can come sit with me in my tent of shame.

Sue Rosenthal's avatar

To all of us didn't that didn't get it until the puzzle and dog biscuits....

That means we all Totally believed little Chucky Cheese Schumer actually said

“Joe could beat me in a foot race. If he were ten years older, he would still outthink the warmongering imposter currently hogging the Oval Office.”!!!

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

RunningLogic's avatar

I actually do believe he’d be capable of saying something like that, especially the part about Feinstein! But I knew the rest was nonsense (except for the Joe running again announcement because I totally could see them running him again since he was such a useful tool for them last time) 😡

I clued in a bit earlier, but he still hooked me in the beginning and I’ve been following him for 5 years.

what Pope Leo XIV said in his Palm Sunday message: That Jesus “does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying, ‘Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood.’”

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

And David said, "Blessed be the Lord, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle".

We are at War with Evil Itself. We will be until Jeshua returns.

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

I am in agreement. And that is a large part of my support for this “operation”. Issued pellet guns, and told to “aim for the eyes”.

SD Scott's avatar

Yeah, David wasn’t calling on the Hallmark greeting card deity.

Problem is, most churchgoers are only glancingly acquainted with the Bible.

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

I confess that that was “me” as long as I was a regular church-goer (as, in, all my life but for the past decade). When I ceased to be such, I began to read the Bible from Gen. 1:1 through to Rev. 22:21. Causes me to think of this as an analogy—getting some other kid to do your homework for you.

SD Scott's avatar

Reading verse by verse is a lot different than clipping & pasting to suit a man made narrative.

CL Shoemake's avatar

Guess the pope knows zip about the history of God’s chosen people and how many wars they had to wage, and many times because the Lord directed them to do so. Hard facts. War is awful, we all agree.

John Henry Holliday, DDS's avatar

God sent His son to, and through, His Chosen People. The humble and wise ones followed the teachings of Christ. The others persecuted Jesus and his followers. God gave them a full generation to follow the Truth. In 70 AD, Titus destroyed the Temple and the faith that was centered on that.

Cousin Clem's avatar

"God's chosen people"....oy vey, that's some God. Picking It's favorites and to hell with everyone else. Pretty petty God.

RevMikeyMac's avatar

Nowhere in scripture does God express that attitude toward "the nations." He chose the Jewish people (through Abraham) to bring blessing to the nations, by revealing God's holiness, wisdom and character before them. His purpose was to reach the nations through the Hebrews. They failed at that, but God knew they would; he already had a further, more comprehensive plan for the salvation of the nations; Jesus the Messiah, descendant of Abraham.

'Nuff said, if you don't understand this, you just don't (want to) get it.

Cousin Clem's avatar

Thanks Rev. I understand what you say and you are correct. I don't get it. All of it makes God like a comic book character plotting It's next move. Everyone can speak to God. Like Madge said, "you're soaking in it now." No chosen people or Messiahs needed. But to each his own belief. Best to you

Eileen's avatar

Sorry. I had 16 years of Catholic education and never cracked the Bible once—only the Catechism.

MaryAnn's avatar

Agree. The Bible was read to me and interpreted from the pulpit. Rote memorization was the only ‘teaching’ I got. “Who made you? God made me.” “Who is God?” etc. We were not to deviate from that script and to not even think of questioning it. Being Catholic back then was easier than being Christian because the priests and nuns handled all of it for me. In confession, I would recite three sins, say the penance prayers, and get a fresh start on the next week.

Thankfully, some of today’s Catholics do read the Bible. 🙏🏻

Michelle Enmark, DDS's avatar

Hmmm…my children had many years of Catholic education and they were taught from and about the Bible extensively.

I currently attend 9am Mass (for past 1.5 years) and 11am Protestant services which my wife and I have attended for 20 years. Catholicism is my origin faith, and after my Mom passed it’s where I go to feel close to her. I also had the opportunity to walk St. James Camino last year which was so wonderful and healing. Catholic Mass now enriches my life in ways hard to describe, and not like before when I was a teenager. There is nostalgia for sure, but also a beauty of worshiping our King with a cross section of my community that I don’t experience at Protestant church.

Pope Leo seems to be bending the knee to Islam.

I'd be cautious taking direction from him.

Islam teaches violence and death to non muslims. How can he contradict himself so brazenly? You can't condemn war and champion Islam when they are self professed jihadists who want to take over the world for Allah 🤡

Why hasn't he condemned violence towards women trapped in Islam?

Shame on him for affirming Islamic beliefs.

Julie Ann B's avatar

Where in the Bible, which is God’s Word, did the pope find that quote? There is no credibility in the papacy.

CaplT's avatar

If he is talking to everyone, ok. If he’s singling out one “side,” not ok. No one is clean, so Popes have traditionally spoken to both/all sides of conflicts arms to appeal to each to make peace. Article I, Section 4, Clause 1 of the Constitution:

“The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof.”

Katherine Clark

👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾

“Wrong.

The Elections Clause gives states the initial role to set time, place and manner, but expressly authorizes Congress to enact nationwide rules for federal elections (House and Senate races), including voter registration, list maintenance, fraud prevention, and ballot procedures.

The Supreme Court has interpreted “manner” broadly to include “notices, registration, supervision of voting, protection of voters, prevention of fraud and corrupt practices,” etc.

The Help America Vote Act imposes mandatory minimum federal standards on states (e.g., statewide computerized voter registration lists, provisional ballots, and election administration improvements) and provides federal grants (“requirements payments”) explicitly conditioned on compliance. States must submit plans showing how they meet these standards to receive funding.

The National Voter Registration was also enacted under the Elections Clause. It mandates that states maintain accurate voter rolls (“list maintenance”), offer registration at certain agencies, and accept a federal mail-registration form. Courts have upheld NVRA provisions as valid under the Elections Clause precisely because they target voter eligibility verification and roll accuracy.

Trump’s EO explicitly cites both HAVA and NVRA as authority. It does not create new substantive rules from scratch; it directs federal agencies to implement and enhance existing federal statutory requirements using federal databases (SSA records, DHS’s SAVE program).

Moreover, Congress’s power under Article I, Section 8 to tax and spend for the general welfare includes the ability to attach conditions to federal grants to states. This is classic conditional spending, upheld in South Dakota v. Dole (1987): conditions must be unambiguous, related to the federal interest (here, integrity of federal elections), and not coercive.

- HAVA already does exactly this—grants are withheld or conditioned on states meeting federal election-administration standards.

- The EO (Section 5) authorizes withholding “federal funds from noncompliant states/localities where authorized by law.” This is not a new commandeering of state legislatures; states can decline the funds (and the attached conditions) if they wish. Precedent confirms Congress (and the executive administering congressional appropriations) can use the purse to encourage compliance without directly dictating state election codes.

Finally, Trump’s EO’s core mechanisms operate through federal entities like the post office, not state legislatures:

- USPS rulemaking directs the Postmaster General to require barcoded, trackable “Official Election Mail” envelopes and to transmit ballots only to voters on the federal/state-verified Mail-In/Absentee Participation Lists. USPS is a federal agency; the President may direct its operations via executive order. States are not forced to change their own mailing processes—they simply cannot use federal postal service for non-compliant ballots if they want the service.

This avoids the anti-commandeering doctrine (Printz v. United States, 1997), which prohibits the federal government from forcing state officials to enforce federal law. Here, the federal government is regulating its own property (mail) and funds.

Once Congress has acted (via HAVA/NVRA), federal requirements preempt conflicting state practices for federal elections.

The democrats are toast.”

Something I haven't heard mentioned is the inordinate number of exceedingly tight races over the last quarter century in which tiny numbers of votes have dictated the winners.

"Something I haven't heard mentioned is the inordinate number of exceedingly tight races over the last quarter century in which tiny numbers of votes have dictated the winners."

Add to that a needed discussion about how to hold the USPS accountable for delivering bags of military absentee votes into ditches and dumpsters.

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

Perhaps at election time, an ICE agent or Natl Guardsman should ride shotgun with each USPS truck.

Willing Spirit's avatar

The USPS (at least some factions) appears to have done their part well in the 2020 election steal. Then the agency was rewarded by being exempted from the Covid vaccine mandates.

Honestly, what other job would have rendered more exposure to germs than the mail service?

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

One did have to wonder, at the time, just why the Congress and the USPS were exempted from the jab mandates—if those jabs were so very important to human health….And some Congressmen took it anyway—-the teenaged daughter of one took jab and died. Bet you remember that as well. I have long been wondering why Israel pushed the everyone-gotta-get-jabbed plan so very hard.

Willing Spirit's avatar

Ah, Israel…smartest and most courageous people in the world. I sort of believe they saw the hoax, saw the world go mad; and they thought if we resist the vaccination business, we’ll be accused of killing the world (like we’re always accused for every bad thing) and our people won’t be able to travel and do business as normally as possible.

So they made their own saline vaccine and mandated it to give the appearance of being all in with the program, while not poisoning themselves.

They did after all get pagers to Muslim enemies that blew their nuts off if they didn’t outright kill them. Israeli’s are really excellent at intelligence and infiltration. That’s how a nation the size of New Jersey survives with a large portion of the world lusting for their extermination.

Tony Glynn's avatar

No we were not. I don't know where you heard that the USPS was exempt. I had to endure much crap and I had to tell my Postmaster that I was ready to go to court. I never got the Jab and I never wore a mask once while working at USPS.

Trust me, I was a wonderful employee, and I made sure I was smiling all the time.

I knew that no peer reviewed study with masks where available, and Truth is powerful.

USPS was not exempt.

I fought it, and I fought it hard.

ViaVeritasVita's avatar

My neighbor—whom I used to consider a “conspiracy theorist” (until I became one myself) made this very claim.

In Memphis, mail delivery was so bad in covid that when my sons were getting married in 2023, I UPS'd their rehearsal dinner invitations in a box to my sister in Nashville and she put them in Nashville USPS & they all were delivered. Mail may be bad all over, but it's super bad in some locations. New Orleans the same.

Especially in local elections where literally a few hundred or thousand votes make the difference. Interestingly, especially in DA races where the 'winners' were heavily funded by Soros associated groups. In purple areas that is a huge deal and sufficient to shift to blue. My R husband ran in 2022, well known from years as prosecutor and on the bench, well respected and heavily favored by even many Democrats because the D candidate was so bad yet somehow lost to that guy. Partial recount yielded some very odd patterns. Any way the election process can be tightened up will at the very least, restore some confidence in the outcomes and make it harder for fraudulent meddling.

Separate federal and state mail-in ballots is not a hardship nor does it require brain surgery to enact.

South Dakota has separate "Federal voter" ballots for those who live in RVs and barely touch SD soil most of the year. This enables them to participate in federal elections that do impact them, while cleaving them from state elections that do not. https://legiscan.com/SD/text/HB1208/2025

The point is: It's not a big deal to separate federal from state balloting, regardless of the particular state's reason.

Navyo Ericsen's avatar

It doesn't require brain surgery but it may require conversion therapy.

Fabes55's avatar

Agreed. States already print separate ballots for D, R and I (or undeclared) registered voters. And they're already printed up in what, 15 different languages?

I agree, Skeptical Actuary. It crossed my mind that they know a reckoning is coming and maybe they’re poking the migrant bear so violence will erupt now. Watch someone protest "But looting is OK". Same as "You can't murder, but you can kill".

Mrs. RW

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

I do believe you can’t murder but you can kill. The bible is very explicit abt this. You can’t lie in wait to kill someone or plan a murder, nor shed innocent blood. But there is a soldiers prayer—Psalms 144, A Soldiers Prayer: Blessed be the Lord my strength which teaches my hands to WAR, and my fingers to fight. My goodness and my fortress; my high tower and my deliverer; my shield, and HE in Whom I trust. He subdues my people under me. Ps. 144:1-2

The PIPE needs to read his bible. He called Trump a war monger and said God is a God of peace. He is, but he also supported war hundreds of times in the bible. He blessed the solders in war. He told Israel to seek Him regarding whether or not to go to war and if He said no, He would cause them to do poorly or allow them to be slaughtered. When He said yes, He would bless them mightily and help them win— via weather, dust storms and all kinds of things.

Richard Whitney's avatar

What about looting? I'm pretty sure there's a lot of looting in the Bible, so it must be OK. Anyway, that's our story and we're sticking to it.

Mrs. RW

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

Well that doesn’t make sense at all, to me. Of course there was looting but God never said go loot, that I recall. He does say go to war and take all these spoils of war. He directs them to put certain things in the temple and destroy certain things they “loot” but if you’re talking abt run of the mill stealing and pillaging, I don’t think he condones theft— unless it’s the spoils of war.

Leo's avatar

KC - That's all OT. That certainly isn't what Jesus lived nor taught.

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

I’m not a ditch the OT kind of gal. I believe it’s all still pretty applicable.

I don’t think there’s any way God decided we don’t honor soldiers and fighting when it’s needed beginning in the NT/Jesus’ time.

If you do, what say you about the Revolutionary War? The Civil War? Both World Wars? Are you not deep down, really grateful most of those wars were fought? Should we have remained under the rule of King George, king of England forever? Should we have just let slavery stand so we could be peaceful? Should we have allowed 14 million jews to die at the hand of the Nazis instead of 7 million? At what point do you (and the pope) decide e need to remain peaceful because…Jesus? Iran was making nukes. Just let

that go?

Leo's avatar

KC "Peaceful" isn't synonymous with Passive. Jesus tried to teach us how to learn to find common ground with our fellow humans. If we put anywhere near the same amount of time and treasury, focus and creativity, prayers and practice, into our relationships at every level, personal/political, as we do now into war/killing/hate (at every level) - then we would indeed be living out our love of God - as commanded.

Willing Spirit's avatar

Jesus said, “I come not to abolish the law or the prophets, but to fulfill them.” Matthew 5:17

The notion that Jesus is not the same as the God of the Old Testament is a dangerous heresy that has caused much harm nd confusion.

"Conversion therapy" -- more a dysphemism than a euphemism, IMO. Unlike such gently insidious terms as "gender-affirming care" or "revenue enhancement", the term "conversion therapy" seeks to demonize the specialist who is trying, by actually TALKING to the young dysphoric patient. Not to "convert", but to find out what ELSE might be going on in the young person's head BEFORE any irreversible medical intervention happens.

Talking. Debating. Always a problem for the "gender-affirming" crowd.

Richard Whitney's avatar

The ironic thing is that they are transing a lot of gay kids, and the "conversion therapy" line comes from the old days when they tried to teach gay kids to be straight.

Now they just drug and mutilate them.

And idiot liberals support that because of the label. Propaganda works.

Mrs. RW

Matt L.'s avatar

‘Hey Teacher, leave them kid’s alone’

Michelle Enmark, DDS's avatar

Yes, and the term “ Conversion Therapy “ used to sometimes include electroshock therapy and drugs given to induce vomiting etc. Hopefully none of those practices and only talk therapy as outlined in the lawsuit will be allowed to be performed, Mrs. RW. Many of those children desperately need counseling.

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

As a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist who was first licensed in CA. We were threatened that if we even had sessions where a client was wondering if maybe they are not gay we could lose our license. The Board also raised an eyebrow to praying with a client. As an aside, I have seen almost every faith practice. I have even had a Muslim ask me to pray with him. This is all infringing on my freedom of speech & trying to legalize what I can or cannot say in a private session. Well…I moved to Texas where I have the freedom to practice without fear of losing my license.

I will pray with clients that ask for prayer. I live in rural Hill Country but 1 hour from Austin. I have seen 4 girls during the plandemic that wanted to start hormones. I have seen 2 men (that heard from God) & detransitioned off hormones & one had his fake breasts removed. (They worked with me after the fact.) I also have had 2 women who had “detrans” from living as an identified male. They both were living as lesbians. Surprisingly, both through 2 years of therapy, they are in relationships with men. They want to get married & have babies! Do you know most of what I did in all of their sessions?

They processed their childhood trauma.

They processed the sexual abuse.

In the process of addressing the trauma they chose their own destiny. I didn’t affirm anything in the session. I didn’t affirm that they were gay, straight, or trans. They affirmed their own beliefs & identity. Old school therapists like me were taught to not affirm anything for a client. It’s their life. They have to choose their own path. (The only thing I do affirm is getting out of dangerous physically abusive relationship.)

If you use trauma informed care for clients to process their own trauma, many times they choose healthier choices in life. It all starts with allowing “lowly” therapists to have the freedom to speak without the threat of losing their license.

Herodotus II's avatar

Thank you, Amanda, for that. The freedom to speak. God bless you.

RunningLogic's avatar

Sending prayers 🙏

Your approach is what I would call sensible and actual healing therapy. Glad you can be somewhere that actually allows you to do your job!

I have long suspected that at least some of the sexual identity issues are often related to experiencing sexual abuse 😞

I've read accounts that the raping of young white girls started in the 1960. The elites looked the other way so they could get the voting blocks to stay in power. Over 12 years ago a friend told me that it was no longer safe for women to walk alone in small German towns. All thanks to Angela Merkel who wanted to seem compassionate. But this isn't just a left thing. The Bushes were all in on the one world craziness and junior gave us the Patriot Act. Remember the 'you're either with us or against us' for anyone showing a dissenting view? Covid showed those weapons were pointed inward to US.

If Missy Mogle had been my child, I would have tracked down the POS that murdered her and killed him myself. But first I would have used some Dexter techniques to make him feel what he had done to her, that innocent child. Then I would have cast my concentration on that overweight, double-chinned putrid judge for she is part and parcel of that murder and she should be forced to pay a price. You don't hurt children, ever. Even Jesus did not tolerate that in Matthew 18 v6: "If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea".

How will we hoist it back? I do not think impeachment is adequate to impart the lessons that must be conveyed to the woke liberals who allow this. It is happening in Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina - and those are just because of recent cases I could cite.

So if I seem pedantic by belaboring the point, fine, accuse me of not having a sense of humor, but I still think it needs to be said.
