I never understood the rapid acceptance of the vaccine for pregnant women. As far as I know, they were not included in the initial study, and am not aware of any safety studies in animals prior to the declaration that they were safe for pregnant women. Now to find out they were aware that the second vaccine caused a cytokine storm, and fever? One of the reasons the flu vaccine was recommended was to prevent flu and fever in pregnant women, which is considered potentially harmful to the developing fetus. Being in healthcare, I was eligible in January of 21 for the jab. I waited, because of the new technology and rapid development. Just wanted a few months of data post use to be sure. Then whole family got Covid in February. Bad cold for me, pretty much nada for my kids. Great, got natural immunity. Then the great Mr. Science himself, boldly declared natural immunity not to count. IDIOT. Not what I learned in medical school. Did he do studies to see if prior infection would be sufficient to protect you from severe disease? Did they study to see if continued injections caused ever worsening cytokine storms? No. Just declared a booster needed, because six months after rollout people who were vaccinated were getting infected. Whoopsies! (To borrow a phrase from Jeff). Fortunately I was first able to get a medical exemption for being involved in a study, and when later pressured as that study was complete, applied for and was granted a religious exemption. But then required to have weekly testing, despite no symptoms. And wear a mask constantly at work (which I despised, and also not based on actual science ). Can you tell that I’m not over being miffed about this yet?

I was quite worried when my lovely daughter-in-law told me that her obstetrician said that the vaccine was perfectly safe for her. I explained that they couldn't possibly know that but she went ahead anyway. Thankfully, she went on to deliver a beautiful baby girl.

That storm this morning broke in half a large tree that has sat on the other side of our backyard fence for the past 15 years. Split down the middle, half lying on the ground. No black marks, and we didn’t hear an ear-curdling crack so I don’t think it was lightening (while we have a wide cul-de-sac lot, it is shallow, and that tree is less than 40 feet from our house so we would have heard it. So it must have been the wind.) We went to the basement when the tornado sirens blared and the stillness in our back yard led to a deep yellow coloring and then wind whipped up as if a switch were flipped. Okay, okay …. to the basement we go like an obedient little kid. Lol. I recognize those colors from past tornados I’ve been in. Not sure we had one but still I wasn’t taking any chances. Lasted a full hour though.

Sounds good to me, with one alteration. The vaccines with their adjuvants given to infants and children should be adjusted according to body weight. Giving a 200 pound man the same dose as the 7 pound newborn is not good enough. Even over-the-counter drugs have different dosage recommendations according to age recognizing differences between children and adults. But when it comes to vaccines, this is not always done. If at all. I don't know. I just know that the adult pneumonia vaccine designed for older adults (on which it was tested) was also approved for children down to age 2 (on which it was not tested). Similar practice in veterinary medicine as well. The dose for a St Bernard and a Chihuahua is the same.

Yes; even though I am a Christian, I have always disliked the term “religious exemption” because it negates one’s own bodily autonomy and seemingly subjugates it to a religious institution. Although I was not required to have a Covid shot for my job, I heard from a church friend that our pastor declined to write a religious exception letter for her husband because the pastors didn’t have anything against the shot. If I had needed a religious exemption, I would have contacted one of the Internet pastors (e.g. Dana Coverstone) who were providing them for people.

A pregnant woman who has rubella is at risk of losing her pregnancy or of the baby developing severe and FATAL birth defects. I know of 2 women this happened to... it is sad and devastating. Rubella is life threatening.

I am not confident that individual pediatricians know the harm of vaccines. Maybe the old ones who remember when there were 6-8 spaced out. Pharma totally owns not just our regulatory agencies (CDC, FDA, NIH etc), they also own governing bodies like the AMA & the AAP, and also the medical schools. I never understood the rapid acceptance of the vaccine for pregnant women. As far as I know, they were not included in the initial study, and am not aware of any safety studies in animals prior to the declaration that they were safe for pregnant women. Now to find out they were aware that the second vaccine caused a cytokine storm, and fever? One of the reasons the flu vaccine was recommended was to prevent flu and fever in pregnant women, which is considered potentially harmful to the developing fetus. This should have lead to immediate studies prior to the universal recommendation of vaccination of all pregnant women. Which all three of those individuals should have addressed. THAT. WAS. THEIR. JOB. LITERALLY. Yet they insisted it was “safe and effective “. I’m more and more glad that I refused the damn thing.
Being in healthcare, I was eligible in January of 21 for the jab. I waited, because of the new technology and rapid development. Just wanted a few months of data post use to be sure. Then whole family got Covid in February. Bad cold for me, pretty much nada for my kids. Great, got natural immunity. Then the great Mr. Science himself, boldly declared natural immunity not to count. IDIOT. Not what I learned in medical school. Did he do studies to see if prior infection would be sufficient to protect you from severe disease? Did they study to see if continued injections caused ever worsening cytokine storms? No. Just declared a booster needed, because six months after rollout people who were vaccinated were getting infected. Whoopsies! (To borrow a phrase from Jeff). Fortunately I was first able to get a medical exemption for being involved in a study, and when later pressured as that study was complete, applied for and was granted a religious exemption. But then required to have weekly testing, despite no symptoms. And wear a mask constantly at work (which I despised, and also not based on actual science ). Can you tell that I’m not over being miffed about this yet?

That storm this morning broke in half a large tree that has sat on the other side of our backyard fence for the past 15 years. Split down the middle, half lying on the ground. No black marks, and we didn’t hear an ear-curdling crack so I don’t think it was lightening (while we have a wide cul-de-sac lot, it is shallow, and that tree is less than 40 feet from our house so we would have heard it. So it must have been the wind.) We went to the basement when the tornado sirens blared and the stillness in our back yard led to a deep yellow coloring and then wind whipped up as if a switch were flipped. Okay, okay …. to the basement we go like an obedient little kid. Lol. I recognize those colors from past tornados I’ve been in. Not sure we had one but still I wasn’t taking any chances. Lasted a full hour though.

Reminds me of Heinrich Schliemann who unearthed the city of Troy in the 1870s based on his reading of Homer's "The Iliad" who believed Homer's story was based on actual events. Sounds good to me, with one alteration. The vaccines with their adjuvants given to infants and children should be adjusted according to body weight. Giving a 200 pound man the same dose as the 7 pound newborn is not good enough. Even over-the-counter drugs have different dosage recommendations according to age recognizing differences between children and adults. But when it comes to vaccines, this is not always done. Yes; even though I am a Christian, I have always disliked the term “religious exemption” because it negates one’s own bodily autonomy and seemingly subjugates it to a religious institution. Although I was not required to have a Covid shot for my job, I heard from a church friend that our pastor declined to write a religious exception letter for her husband because the pastors didn’t have anything against the shot. If I had needed a religious exemption, I would have contacted one of the Internet pastors (e.g. Dana Coverstone) who were providing them for people.
You hit on exactly the same two problems I had with Jeff's otherwise excellent piece. Many, I think most, parents are morons, or at least make moronic decisions. But their choices are no worse than than the dictates from the "authorities". Usually better. And while I see why some fight for religious exemptions if that's the only way to escape mandates, that's discrimination. Why can some religions have freedom, but the rest of us can't?

Religious exemptions are available to those, for any strongly held beliefs, that do not want the injection. Just needs to be worded like that. As Jeff points out. Except in those states that denied them all together.

You're wrong. I grew up in the 50's, and as kids when we got "German Measels" we were told to stay away from pregnant moms. A pregnant woman who has rubella is at risk of losing her pregnancy or of the baby developing severe and FATAL birth defects. I know of 2 women this happened to... it is sad and devastating. Rubella is life threatening.
