I'm not Jewish but know a bit of their (modern) history. The Jews, in global terms, are a very diverse group and are far from unified. The recent turmoil in Israel is a case in point. Most of the US's Jews are Askkenazi (or "European") jews, many of whom are indistinguishable from Gentiles of European stock. Unlike being an "American," a "German," or even a "Protestant," the term "Jewish" encompasses a wide array of meanings and with disagreement even within the movement: Is it a race? Yes, claim many, a true Jew is only so by ancestry. By that reasoning, you cannot convert to Judaism (which happens, but comparatively rarely). Even being born in Israel won't make you a Jew -- as any number of Palestinians can attest. Is it a religion? Absolutely, although again, it's a very big tent, from the Ultra-Orthodox to outright atheists or those who might claim a faith but are no more so than a "Christian" who hasn't seen the inside of a church since the day he was baptized. The Hebrew race is many things, but unified and on the same sheet of music, certainly not!
i was married to a jew...they are ALL "white guys"!
Uh, no. Not according to the source.

Just google it. There's a million of these.

I’ve never really understood if being a Jew is a nationality or a religion.
We are an ethnoreligion.
Sammy! What about Sammy Davis, Jr.? I am not aware of another. But Sammy!
