I once read a reasonably credible source stating that DDE’s original draft said, “the congressional military industrial complex.” High on the list of search results, History.com says it didn’t, so now I’m convinced it did. The site says, “Evidence points away from this theory: A draft of the speech dated almost a month before it was delivered included the phrase ‘military-industrial complex’ intact.” That sounds like a DOJ liar’s word game. Obviously, History.com’s “evidence points away.” And “intact” doesn’t mean the draft did not include the word “congressional.” Trying to squeeze truth out of slithering liars is a fool’s errand. The only word game we can win against the father of lies is, “Get thee behind me.”
