Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal might! Amen.

“I have learned to kiss the wave that throws me against the Rock of Ages.” —Charles Spurgeon

This is a most splendid holding forth. It signals that Christian Faith is not a Faith the exists for the sole purpose of making our lives easy, safe, effortless. Out of being dashed against the Rock of Ages (inclusive of Adversity) for All Ages further signifies that there is a Supreme Imperium which compels us to choose between right and wrong, God's Laws or Man's Whims, or else do the bidding of Satan and thereby suffer the unhappy consequences.

Would that Man choose wisely that He not run to extinction.

Yes. The moral equivalency of Satan is very prevalent in our age and many are sucked in, believing it is the way of peace.

Psalm 137:9 says, “Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks”?

From the Geneva Notes: (And beyond my pay grade)

Psalms 137:9 {h} Happy [shall he be], that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
(h) He alludes to Isaiah's prophecy in Isa 13:16 promising good success to Cyrus and Darius, whom ambition moved to fight against Babylon, but God used them as his rods to punish his enemies.

Isaiah 13:15

Isaiah 13:16 Their {n} children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be plundered, and their wives ravished.
(n) This was not accomplished when Cyrus took Babylon, but after the death of Alexander the great.

PS: I’m not quite there yet.

Expand full comment

I'm sort of there. My response to the ever-increasing evil is "whatever." By that, I DO NOT mean that I don't care and I am not doing what I can to fight the evil, but what ultimately happens to me, or anyone else, is not within my control. I have to trust God to bring me through it and make a choice not to worry.

I’m with you Anne. “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2

Expand full comment

Anne, thank you for this. There is sooo much that is out of our control. We can only control how we respond, as individuals. Thank you for this reminder!

Expand full comment

The congregations of America need to start responding not only as individuals but a the church militant with their feet firmly planted in God's law and their heads fully covered with the helmet of salvation. It's time to pick up the sword of God and engage the enemy in our nation. This is going to require a "new generation" of church leadership as the existing leadership of the church has, by and large, been co-opted by the enemy along with the rest of the culture.

I agree, Great Reflect, and I don't believe what I wrote is opposed to what you wrote. I'm not in favor of giving in, but I am having a hard time finding others who want to fight the evil. I seem to be among a group of people who are more interested in being comfortable. For me, it's a matter of coming to terms with the fact that things might get really bad. For instance, I used to worry about the government taking our money. Now I have accepted that they probably will at some point, so I am buying whatever I want or need, within reason, as well as donating to charities or individuals who need help. Since the terror attack in Israel I have decided I need to learn how to use a gun. My husband has been encouraging me to do so for a long time. I still don't really want to, but it seems prudent during this crazy time. We've certainly got thousands of terrorists in our own country and it's only a matter of time until they attack.

I seek to do that, which the Holy Spirit directs. That and nothing more. Not to say I’m good at it, but I’m trying to learn to obey and leave the rest to God.

Thank you Jeff for the Michigan electors update and explanation. I believe the idea is to frighten anyone from questioning anything about the 2020 election or any going forward. As my wise pastor stated months ago, everything will be fought in court. Even if the case is ridiculous the state will bring charges knowing that most defendants do not have the wherewithal to fight a state who uses taxpayer money to prosecute their own taxpayers. What does a corrupt state government have to lose? Until these corrupt state AG’s are somehow held accountable, they will with impunity come up with these unproven charges and slow walk them while this state sinks into anarchy.

Expand full comment

LAWFARE - Not that long ago this type of activity would be limited by budgetary constraints.

However that has gone by the boards as there are no longer any budgets. During covid all the blue states went "bankrupt" and were rewarded with the CARES ACT sending billion or trillion$ of printed Federal Reserve money to (shore up?) the blue states finances while the so called RED States were penalized? for running surpluses. When the law of Supply and demand is replaced with Modern Monetary "Theory" the result is the dissolution of Private Property and eventually Civilization...."Budgets?! WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' BUDGETS!

Excellent summary! You just wrote a whole book in one paragraph. The Great Divide continues to widen. The blue states are going broke and the Woke Bolshevik Federal Government will increasingly tax the productive red states to support the blue states. At some point, the red states will be forced to divorce themselves from the blue states and the Fed Gov't out of self-preservation. The Fed Gov't will "not allow" this.

In the everyday, I'm thinking about a comeback like, "You don't have the right to disrupt my ordered thought process. I choose to keep order in my thoughts. If me keeping my thoughts ordered hurts your feelings, then I will be forced to discount you from my thoughts altogether." Then look past them or through them as if they aren't there, and for Pete's sake don't engage further.

Have NOT engaging (i.e., ignoring), NOT thinking about another, NOT permitting intrusion on one's being been codified as a hate crime?

Whip out phone with camera. I would think verbal assault (destined to come at some point against the person of ordered thought doing the phone videoing and not responding or engaging - even to the most vile onslaught; remember, the job at hand is to get the hate on video) could be a chargeable offense. At the very least, the video could be posted publicly on the web. It's not like the person of ordered thought is fabricating facts/”facts” and would be liable for slander. The hate might get the post canceled, violating terms of service and all that, but where's the hate coming from?

Just trying to think of ways to remove their influence from personal discourse, one sad, bent-on-manipulating-to-their-twisted-sense-of-satisfaction, mental case at a time. What have I missed in regard to this proposed tactic? Where could it backfire?

My problem with ungrammatical pronouns has to do mostly with “they” when “they” refers to one person. Would you ever say “They is gender-confused” for example. Because “they” is referring to a single person! Absurd.

Expand full comment

My friend's daughter is in this trap. She goes by "they". I refuse to refer to her that way. So I do'nt ask about her daughter. I don't talk about her. Nothing. I'm not getting into a debate with my friend about her daughter's mental illness that she's obviously encouraging (if her body disphoria was anorexia, would she encourage her daughter to throw up after every meal?) so I just don't talk about her with my friend. Ever.

Expand full comment

Good strategy and I like the anorexia correlation. I have a coworker with a "daughter" and I have a hard time. I want to be polite to my coworker, who I really like, but am not getting on this bandwagon. So I don't mention "her".

Expand full comment

So kind of what the progressives do, you just cancel her daughter like she doesn’t exist? Pretend she doesn’t exist? Ok how about just being honest with your friend and say” I’m not playing that game. Now if you still want to be friends great!!” Why do WE pretend like they do?

Expand full comment

Not cancelled. Just not getting the mental attention they crave. I have no problem with not talking about my friend’s Narcissist daughter.

Not cancelling. If she mentions her daughter, I"ll acknowledge her but I refuse to use "they" when refering to a single person and I will not call her by her "new" name. So I don't use any name.

I see your point. I should have been clearer. If she mentions "her", I respond without using "her". It takes some thought on how to respond. I don't pretend that "she" does not exist.

It's harder when you work with someone. I don't want to be in a bad working environment, and I would be. We are both in a pharmacy and have to talk to each other every day. I already don't care for the job one bit and don't want to add to dreading going to work because I've ticked off someone I have to work with closely, not to mention someone I really like. She's talked about her

"daughter" and was not happy with the situation of him becoming "her", but said she wants to support her child. I told her that must feel like being between a rock and a hard place and she agreed.

Why might the daughter be anxious? Her dad is pretending to be a woman and her mom is pretending to be married to a woman. I claim this kind of behavior by adults is child abuse. Change my mind. Oh, and I do feel sorry for my friend, because she’s in assisted living and her son is her only child. If she alienates him by refusing to play along, she faces some serious estrangement issues.

A few months ago my husband and I were in Home Depot and here comes a guy dressed in a tank top, short skirt, leggings and ballet slippers. No doubt that this was a man. The terribly sad thing about this was that he had three young children with him. I heard him say something to them about their mother, so I assumed this was a situation where this man had abandoned his marriage in order to live his fantasy. Can you imagine having a custody situation where you had to turn over your children to that?? And even that is not nearly as bad as the new custody issue when parents disagree about a child's gender transition.

Expand full comment

Yes, it’s terribly hard, embarrassing and confusing for children. At my Mom’s church there is a man pretending to be a woman, and he dresses like a hooker as many such seem to do. He has two sons, 10 and 12, and makes them refer to him as their “mother.” When their dad is in the room, these two young boys keep their eyes cast down, and the only word I can find for how they look is “hunted.” It’s abuse, plain and simple.

Expand full comment

Yes, it seems to me that most of these men dress like hookers/ drag queens in everyday situations. Why no sweats and ponytail with no makeup at the grocery? Perhaps attention….

Expand full comment

How they dress just proves how profoundly sexist the whole trans thing is. Because exactly as you say, they never decided to 'change' their gender so they could wear sweats, or jeans, or work boots, like bazillions of real women do every day. No, they want to wear only the most stereotypically 'feminine' clothes, pounds of makeup, and have hair that is styled, every day. Woman = two-inch eyelashes and laquered 4-inch nails.

The trans thing has set basic feminism back by decades, with Millennial parents now figuring if their girl child likes to run and climb trees, she's really a he, and if their boy child likes the color pink, he's really a she. It's never about something as simple as--oh, look, my little athlete, or oh look, my little artist. It just shows you how stupid and insecure and brainwashed so many of the parents are, as well.

Expand full comment

Yes, they have the most rigid sex role stereotypes imaginable. So glad I was a tomboy back in the day when it was just part of the normal range of being female.

Expand full comment

Same. And yet they consider themselves "fluid," and objectors rigid! 😂

Expand full comment

What keeps me sane is knowing that God will judge those parents accordingly and those poor kids mental will also be taken into account.

Expand full comment

I would argue that the trans movement is the natural outcome of feminism. Feminism, by its nature, causes women deny their femininity and emasculates men. Honestly, I don't know why we would expect any other outcome.

Expand full comment

Attention I think. It’s an exaggerated parody of women. I’ve read where it can be tied up with the man’s feelings and urges toward women, especially if he feels rejected by them. He can just be one. What seems odd to me is that men who claim they are women want to dress up in a garish way to look like hookers or at least like caricatures of what they think women are. In other words, transvestites by any other name....

I've also noticed that in the reverse, the women who say they want to be men appear to want to change to look and act like normal men, not as caricatures of men.

I'm not sure how this would be explained.

Asked to be transferred out of the all male unit to the all female. Really? And, in the process, what, honor your maleness? Wanting it both ways. What do you do with that? My friend couldn't follow the patient once off the ward so, what has happened is lost. ...Rather says mental illness to me. I think a whoooole lot of the problem around here is trauma based. Thank you, Jeff, for the history lesson on pronouns. As a (former) English teacher I was unaware of this. The part of this pronoun nonsense that’s never made sense to me, other than not being grammatically correct, is we don’t address someone directly by their “preferred pronoun.” It’s only when speaking OF them. For example, I wouldn’t say to Maddie who now goes by Matt, “Hey, he” or “Excuse me, they.” 🤦🏼‍♀️

Expand full comment

As one grammarian to another, I would point out that English is poverty-stricken in the matter of pronouns. Only 3 cases, 3 persons, singular and plural. Italian and Latin have a lot (confusingly lot) more--so much more information is 'encoded' in their pronouns.

Expand full comment

The Spanish word for non-binary is either 'no binario' or 'no binaria.' I love that because while it's still nonsense, at least it acknowledges the reality of biological sex! The Latin word homo refers to the species, and includes men and women. Whereas vir refers to a male/man and femina a female/woman. English doesn't have that distinction.

Expand full comment

How about Man and Mankind, both female and male inclusive. And then a man or male (not female). And then woman, female (not male). I think that is how it worked and very well ... until the Cretins started tearing everything.

And then there were boy and girls, and we from onset of birth and on through all of school and thereafter, always knew who the boys were and who the girls were. And then the Cretins stepped and ever since it's been an ungodly mess of chaos.

[What are you (familiar form, not formal) saying?] usually gives them a nice mental shock, a pause forcing them to engage their brains. You want to pay crazy grammar games? I'm in for the win!

Expand full comment

This is undeniably true. And Greek such as was the New Testament used is said to be a very precise language. And yet English is one of the most descriptive of languages in use today if properly learned.

Diagramming language structure is what we once did. We learned parts of speech, clauses, phrasings and all sort of things about verbs. It was all for the sake of clarity of mind by orderly coherent speech. But now this is not studied ... and all is a Tower of Babel. It is all meant to keep our minds in a perpetual state of confusion. But the downside, is that the confusion invariably destroys the civilization. And then we pay the price in spades.

I've been told if you want to write a book these days you ought to write it to 9th grade grammar if you want it to sell well!

Expand full comment

Hi Jayne! This apparently has been the case for years and years.

The writing in America was pretty good up into and throughout the nineteen-fifties, even though the subversives were already at work. With the nineteen-sixties, and thereafter, the cry of trajectory has been 'excelsior and ever downwards'. You can see it in sentence construction as well as truncated, diminished vocabulary. It's almost like linguists met in the Hotel Trieste, submerged themselves seven miles down into the depths of the deep blue ... and then blew themselves up.

And this is strange. A number of years ago read something about how elite preparatory schools were urging that pupils were to learn to write and talk with simple words and simple sentence construction because this would allow for them to speak better to the masses by speaking to them on their level. And maybe there is something to this ... something like a brotherhood of the collective of dumbing down as a kind of tenet of Woke Idealism. Okay! Sounds rather 'out there' strangely bizarre! And yet if you look at almost any old line American family, each successive generation seems more stupid and licentiously degenerate than the previous. The abandonment in the schools and in higher learning centers of standards has led directly to the rise of Clown World in the upper echelons, both old line and nouveaux.

This put my guard up - a doer for whom?

He spent 18 years at Unilever and then was somehow qualified to go run an airline. This guy smells like a globalist cabal doer. He was "placed" at New Zealand airlines.

He also supported the NZ “no jab, no pay” policy for sanctioning welfare beneficiaries who do not vaccinate their children

https://www.apumone.com/christopher-luxon-net-worth/

In addition, it is reported: "In February 2021, it was revealed that while Luxon was CEO of Air New Zealand, its contracting business unit Gas Turbines was assisting Royal Saudi Navy vessels, despite them blocking essential supplies like water, food and medical assistance from Yemen. Luxon claimed to "have no recollection of it" and that "it might've post-dated my time" – the latter claim being disputed by his successor Greg Foran. It was met with criticism from Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and the Green Party's human rights spokesperson Golriz Ghahraman.[20] Luxon later admitted it "was a mistake" that Air New Zealand did not have a process whereby its chief executive would be told about all military contracts.[21]"

I’m a nurse and we literally had a Haitian patient who’s legal first name was” His Majesty.” Imagine the looks when we addressed him in the waiting area.😂

Yesterday I opened a mailing from Mutual of Omaha, offering me a "Don't Wait! ...next month you can breathe a little easier!" supplemental cancer coverage policy. Pointing out that 'over 1.9 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in 2023 alone (American Cancer [continuation/encouragement] Society, Cancer Facts & Figures, 2023". This is an attempt by the health insurance company to get cancer coverage out from under your comprehensive and catastrophic health insurance policy which would normally cover any claims like this. 2nd Smartest Guy on substack has been posting a lot of studies about Ivermectin, Febendazole and Doxycycline and their anti-cancer properties, many can be used in tandem with traditional treatments.

Anyone with prostate cancer, please look up Doorless Carp on Substack and PectaSol. It’s modified citrus pectin, no downside and it has tremendous ability to lower PSA numbers- Doorless breaks down the numbers and Big Pharma won’t touch it because they can’t make money from it!
