There was other significant news out of California yesterday.
Context: A few years ago, Shasta County officials (under significant stress and infighting) passed an ordinance allowing for election results to be hand counted.
To no surprise, the CA legislature passed an emergency law to immediately ban any hand counts. They HAVE to be machine counted. And no hand count allowed.
An initiative was started and over 10,000 signatures gathered pretty fast to have hands counts put on the ballot. An ANONYMOUS party sued, seeking to knock down that initiative.
The country superior court rules yesterday against the anonymous party, essentially saying the people have the right to push an initiative.
There are people fighting every where. More people need to fight and fight hard, the evil corrupt criminal enemy is not going to simply tuck tail and run, they are fighting as if their rotten lives depend on it. Everyone who supports President Trump and his team, and all the people doing work like you reference above, needs to do the same. We CANNOT sit on the sidelines, not now.

The election seizures are perhaps, theater only. The Uniparty remains alive and well under Senator John Thune’s sh*tbag hands. This guy isn’t going to get the SAVE Act passed which would prevent the need for these seizures in the first place.

I strongly oppose the SAVE America Act. Although this bill has been portrayed by President Trump and Congressional Republicans as an attempt to prevent voting by non-citizens, in reality the SAVE America Act would effectively eliminate most forms of voter registration and instantly disenfranchise tens of millions of eligible voters.
This bill puts up extreme hurdles that could, for example, prevent many married women from being able to register to vote. The bill often requires two forms of identification to register to vote—including a birth certificate or passport that matches the name of the applicant—women who changed their last name through marriage could be deemed ineligible to vote under the SAVE America Act. Not only would the SAVE America Act require voters to provide multiple forms of identification to register to vote, but it would also incentivize states to submit their full voter registration lists and personal voter data to the federal government. Even most Real ID driver licenses wouldn’t be enough to satisfy the standards in this bill. This bill would also undermine universal mail-in voting.
The bottom line is both federal and state laws already prohibit non-citizens from voting in federal and state elections, and cases of it are vanishingly rare. Additionally, existing federal law already requires applicants for voter registration to confirm their status as a U.S. citizen.
The SAVE America Act is undemocratic, plain and simple and I intend to do everything I can to stop it.
Instead of adding unnecessary hurdles that make it harder for Americans to vote, I have been focused on expanding accessibility for Americans and improving secure voter registration. Since 2002, I have fought tooth & nail to make vote by mail accessible to all Americans. My bill, the Vote at Home Act, requires every state to provide registered voters with the opportunity to vote by mail. It also assists states with the costs of mailing ballots to registered voters and covers the cost of mailing those completed ballots back in. Building on Oregon’s automatic voter registration program, our bill also improves voter registration to reduce the burden on busy working Americans.

Exactly what I got back from Tina Smith. Of course there should be "hurdles," meaning standards, for voting. As there are for driving a car, opening a checking account, getting into the airport, buying a bottle of wine, even buying matches in Minnesota (not making that up). Voting is not a right, it's a responsibility. If you can't manage to do it correctly, including showing up at the voting booth between 6am and 8pm on voting day, then you're making some bad choices and it's up to you to fix them. Here in my neighborhood or maybe it is just me, but some of my packages sent by USPS take tours around the country. Going one direction and then oopsie heading back to the opposite direction, then back and finally I get the package after a week two. No lie! I have proof that this has happened to me more that 3 times. What gives?
Recently the VA sent my husband quickly needed CD containing the results of an ultrasound and its report. It needed to travel a distance of about 100 miles within California. It took 20 days to arrive via USPS.
The post office has consolidated its major hubs. So in S Oregon even if we send something to a neighbor, it goes 300 miles to Portland and comes back, much later.
That is correct concerning the major hubs...no longer is local mail kept at the local PO for distribution. I believe that it has to do with counting of mail handled.
Recently sent something overnight via the United States Postal Service. I could not it took 13 days. I was stressed. I was tracking it. I obviously got my money back for the overnight fee, but I didn’t care about that. I really wanted it to go overnight. So I feel your pain.
Last package I sent USPS Priority got to the larger processing/sorting center near the destination, but then went missing before it got to the local delivery facility. So- someone working at USPS stole the package I sent. I did have insurance on it, but that is such an insane hassle to go through. Now, if I have to send a package, I generally send UPS or FedEx. Might cost a few dollars more, but they are safer and the package actually gets to it's destination.
On our local neighborhood app, people are constantly posting asking about their missing packages. Some have photos of "delivery" but not at the correct destination, many are just missing. Anyone who has apps like this - are you seeing the same thing in your area?

Problems with the USPS can be blamed on Congress which forgot what the purpose of the PO was as originally designed...Unless it is also planned to not have any postal coverage to out-of-the-way places, that will always be a non-profitable aspect...and no...UPS and FedEx won't tough that with a ten-foot pole. I have long said that the USPS should stop using company supplies to better package cheap customers who seal packages so that they will never make it to their destination without being destroyed. But the big problem, as I understand, is what Congress did about the retirement system for the USPS. The particulars would have to be researched but the USPS was stuck with a major financial problem. That said, the local Post Offices are staffed by local people. My post offices in my county (MD) are great as are the ones in MA where I am every month. Both deep blue states but the staff are great. What mans the hubs may be the problem.

The Big Beautiful Bill funded ICE officers, but not support staff. This bill would pull funding for all the people processing the deportations, essentially stopping them.

The bill included language that gave ICE zero. OBBB is a supplemental amount to their funding. The horrible bill passed at 2am would make ICE funding a separate funding bill.

It is not a "transgender women athlete" ban. It is a requirement that categories of competition based on biological sex must be based on biological sex, like it always was up until two minutes ago.
Where I live, a big bike racing circuit company did make a separate category for trans, which is dumb, but I can understand why they did it. A year or two ago, during podium ceremonies (which there is now a separate category for trans) - some didn't show up for their awards, and the emcee called them out for creating a new category special for them and them not showing up. It was kind of funny. My friend joked he was going to enter it and win to show what a sham it was, but I couldn't talk him into actually doing it.

I was never a fan of Santa and didn't raise my children with that myth, we just enjoyed the entertainment and left it at that - but I also knew many parents who went to great lengths to deceive their children.

We had Santa with my kids and they never had a problem with it. It was just a fun game. St Nicholas is certainly real and the inspiration behind it. I also like the idea of giving gifts without the recipient knowing it’s you who gave them. It makes for a different perspective. I respect other people’s view on this and can agree to disagree. But my kids were absolutely not upset about being “deceived.” And neither was I as a child, nor my siblings 🤷♀️
Not all parents are “deceiving” their children with Santa. But I knew a few…. One was very upset with my kid for spoiling her child's belief in Santa. This lady put foot prints by the fireplace, took a bite out of the cookie, left water droplets (snow that melted) - and more. It was ridiculous.

I used to have that problem often on my flights. As a domestic purser, I usually worked first class and we were encouraged to use our passengers’ names, but it was sometimes a challenge figuring out whether to use Mr. or Ms., especially for women dressed like men, butch haircut, no makeup, no earrings, etc. And then they’d be mad if I used the wrong form of address. I retired during covid, but I’m pretty sure Delta lists every passenger’s “pronouns“ on the manifest now…🙄

Yeah Janice doesn’t race to the top for personal gain at all. She posts early to set our minds and souls in line with God’s, and for many of us that is before we read. She does it for heavenly gain, not for herself but for the rest of us. It’s an act of kindness, period.

Those of us who have been reading and commenting here for years know her well. She is humble and sweet and just wants to share the word of God. She posts a verse every day and has done this for years. Jeff has “liked” her posts on many occasions over the past few years (when he has had time to “like” or comment, which has become a much less frequent occurrence lately) so he has no problem with her posts. Many of us here find comfort and fortitude in them. A few people complain they’re “not relevant” but there are many posts in the comments that aren’t relevant to the particular topics Jeff has written on a given day so I am not sure why they single her out 🤷♀️ In any case, all of us are free to scroll on by if we are not interested in reading her posts. And this is not directed at you in particular, just giving you a little background since you mentioned you are new here 🙂 (and btw I have enjoyed your posts so far, interesting and thought provoking!).
(And for the record, while your point about Yuri is taken, I actually do enjoy his posts so I don’t mind his frequent contributions. Your mileage may vary though 😛).

1. We need better messaging on the whole TSA thing. Shouldn't have taken this long. On any issue, there has to be a handy image that can be shared via X, Facebook, TikTok, etc, that captures the essence in an easily digestible format. This isn't hard people. So if a Party cheats their way into office, by the time the other Party would get back some power, a minimum of two years for most state election cycles, the evidence is destroyed. I am sure they could find some vacant office buildings since most of the country has those due to the great shift to full/partial work from home for white collar jobs, to store for 4 years. There was other significant news out of California yesterday.
Context: A few years ago, Shasta County officials (under significant stress and infighting) passed an ordinance allowing for election results to be hand counted.
To no surprise, the CA legislature passed an emergency law to immediately ban any hand counts. They HAVE to be machine counted. And no hand count allowed.
An initiative was started and over 10,000 signatures gathered pretty fast to have hands counts put on the ballot. An ANONYMOUS party sued, seeking to knock down that initiative.
The country superior court rules yesterday against the anonymous party, essentially saying the people have the right to push an initiative.

Although this bill has been portrayed by President Trump and Congressional Republicans as an attempt to prevent voting by non-citizens, in reality the SAVE America Act would effectively eliminate most forms of voter registration and instantly disenfranchise tens of millions of eligible voters.
This bill puts up extreme hurdles that could, for example, prevent many married women from being able to register to vote. The bill often requires two forms of identification to register to vote—including a birth certificate or passport that matches the name of the applicant—women who changed their last name through marriage could be deemed ineligible to vote under the SAVE America Act. Not only would the SAVE America Act require voters to provide multiple forms of identification to register to vote, but it would also incentivize states to submit their full voter registration lists and personal voter data to the federal government. Even most Real ID driver licenses wouldn’t be enough to satisfy the standards in this bill. This bill would also undermine universal mail-in voting.
The bottom line is both federal and state laws already prohibit non-citizens from voting in federal and state elections, and cases of it are vanishingly rare. Additionally, existing federal law already requires applicants for voter registration to confirm their status as a U.S. citizen.
The SAVE America Act is undemocratic, plain and simple and I intend to do everything I can to stop it.
Instead of adding unnecessary hurdles that make it harder for Americans to vote, I have been focused on expanding accessibility for Americans and improving secure voter registration. Since 2002, I have fought tooth & nail to make vote by mail accessible to all Americans. My bill, the Vote at Home Act, requires every state to provide registered voters with the opportunity to vote by mail. It also assists states with the costs of mailing ballots to registered voters and covers the cost of mailing those completed ballots back in. Building on Oregon’s automatic voter registration program, our bill also improves voter registration to reduce the burden on busy working Americans.

Exactly what I got back from Tina Smith. Of course there should be "hurdles," meaning standards, for voting. As there are for driving a car, opening a checking account, getting into the airport, buying a bottle of wine, even buying matches in Minnesota (not making that up). Voting is not a right, it's a responsibility. If you can't manage to do it correctly, including showing up at the voting booth between 6am and 8pm on voting day, then you're making some bad choices and it's up to you to fix them. Going one direction and then oopsie heading back to the opposite direction, then back and finally I get the package after a week two. No lie! Recently the VA sent my husband quickly needed CD containing the results of an ultrasound and its report. It needed to travel a distance of about 100 miles within California. It took 20 days to arrive via USPS.

The post office has consolidated its major hubs. So in S Oregon even if we send something to a neighbor, it goes 300 miles to Portland and comes back, much later.

I've had some of my mailed packages go through Medford, then to Bend and back to Medford. And then to Portland.
That is correct concerning the major hubs...no longer is local mail kept at the local PO for distribution. I believe that it has to do with counting of mail handled.
Recently sent something overnight via the United States Postal Service. I could not it took 13 days. I was stressed. I was tracking it. I obviously got my money back for the overnight fee, but I didn’t care about that. I really wanted it to go overnight. So I feel your pain.
Last package I sent USPS Priority got to the larger processing/sorting center near the destination, but then went missing before it got to the local delivery facility. So- someone working at USPS stole the package I sent. I did have insurance on it, but that is such an insane hassle to go through. Now, if I have to send a package, I generally send UPS or FedEx. Might cost a few dollars more, but they are safer and the package actually gets to it's destination.
On our local neighborhood app, people are constantly posting asking about their missing packages. Some have photos of "delivery" but not at the correct destination, many are just missing. Anyone who has apps like this - are you seeing the same thing in your area?

Problems with the USPS can be blamed on Congress which forgot what the purpose of the PO was as originally designed...Unless it is also planned to not have any postal coverage to out-of-the-way places, that will always be a non-profitable aspect...and no...UPS and FedEx won't tough that with a ten-foot pole. I have long said that the USPS should stop using company supplies to better package cheap customers who seal packages so that they will never make it to their destination without being destroyed. But the big problem, as I understand, is what Congress did about the retirement system for the USPS. The particulars would have to be researched but the USPS was stuck with a major financial problem. That said, the local Post Offices are staffed by local people. My post offices in my county (MD) are great as are the ones in MA where I am every month. Both deep blue states but the staff are great. What mans the hubs may be the problem.

The Big Beautiful Bill funded ICE officers, but not support staff. This bill would pull funding for all the people processing the deportations, essentially stopping them.
It would also reset the baseline to zero if we have another continuing resolution. And after 20 years of them, I think it’s safe to say that’s how they’ll roll again.
The bill included language that gave ICE zero. OBBB is a supplemental amount to their funding. The horrible bill passed at 2am would make ICE funding a separate funding bill.

I appreciate her posts but am not sure about the integrity of some of her sources ( Wikipedia, The Guardian, etc). I’ve been a bit surprised by these which in turn made me a bit skeptical.

Where I live, a big bike racing circuit company did make a separate category for trans, which is dumb, but I can understand why they did it. A year or two ago, during podium ceremonies (which there is now a separate category for trans) - some didn't show up for their awards, and the emcee called them out for creating a new category special for them and them not showing up. It was kind of funny. My friend joked he was going to enter it and win to show what a sham it was, but I couldn't talk him into actually doing it.

We had Santa with my kids and they never had a problem with it. It was just a fun game. St Nicholas is certainly real and the inspiration behind it. I also like the idea of giving gifts without the recipient knowing it’s you who gave them. It makes for a different perspective. I respect other people’s view on this and can agree to disagree. But my kids were absolutely not upset about being “deceived.” And neither was I as a child, nor my siblings 🤷♀️
Not all parents are “deceiving” their children with Santa. But I knew a few…. One was very upset with my kid for spoiling her child's belief in Santa. This lady put foot prints by the fireplace, took a bite out of the cookie, left water droplets (snow that melted) - and more. It was ridiculous.

I used to have that problem often on my flights. As a domestic purser, I usually worked first class and we were encouraged to use our passengers’ names, but it was sometimes a challenge figuring out whether to use Mr. or Ms., especially for women dressed like men, butch haircut, no makeup, no earrings, etc. And then they’d be mad if I used the wrong form of address. I retired during covid, but I’m pretty sure Delta lists every passenger’s “pronouns“ on the manifest now…🙄

Another “tell” when trying to determine if someone is really male or female… look at the hands. Most men have larger hands. Case in point: even with all the hormones that Bruce/Katlin Jenner has had over the years Jenner’s hands are still large and clunky compared to an actual female.
Also, men have larger chicklet shaped teeth, but that can be changed with dental work.
Note: At least Jenner is against men in women’s sports and I applaud that.

I count myself as a Christian, so I do not consider the word of God as a PR stunt, such as what Yuri does.
Those of us who have been reading and commenting here for years know her well. She is humble and sweet and just wants to share the word of God. She posts a verse every day and has done this for years. Jeff has “liked” her posts on many occasions over the past few years (when he has had time to “like” or comment, which has become a much less frequent occurrence lately) so he has no problem with her posts. Many of us here find comfort and fortitude in them. A few people complain they’re “not relevant” but there are many posts in the comments that aren’t relevant to the particular topics Jeff has written on a given day so I am not sure why they single her out 🤷♀️ In any case, all of us are free to scroll on by if we are not interested in reading her posts. And this is not directed at you in particular, just giving you a little background since you mentioned you are new here 🙂 (and btw I have enjoyed your posts so far, interesting and thought provoking!).
(And for the record, while your point about Yuri is taken, I actually do enjoy his posts so I don’t mind his frequent contributions. Your mileage may vary though 😛).

1. We need better messaging on the whole TSA thing. Shouldn't have taken this long. On any issue, there has to be a handy image that can be shared via X, Facebook, TikTok, etc, that captures the essence in an easily digestible format. This isn't hard people. We have too many in DC on our side just sucking down the lobbyist dollars and 'consultant' dollars who are useless. Example would be the funding for TSA vs ICE. Sure, we get something passed, but it is just 'noise' to the average voter because they don't understand what happened. Our side is horrible about educating our own voters. I think this is purposeful because too much of our own 'leadership' doesn't want to have truly informed electorate either because we would hold their feet to the fire more effectively.
2. On the Olympics, did anyone ask Brigitte Macron what she thought? Inquiring minds want to know...
3. Arizona has a two-year ballot retention policy? Funny that. So if a Party cheats their way into office, by the time the other Party would get back some power, a minimum of two years for most state election cycles, the evidence is destroyed. That needs to change to 4 years or more. I am sure they could find some vacant office buildings since most of the country has those due to the great shift to full/partial work from home for white collar jobs, to store for 4 years. Arizona is very corrupt so don't hold one's breath.

I agree about ballot retention times. With today’s lawfare we need a decade to truly deter fraud since that’s how long it takes to prove in court. If I have to retain my IRS paperwork for 7 years, then they should retain proof of votes for longer.

Curious if anyone here has noticed the medical industrial complex “reporting” through rags like Medscape that vaccines may be beneficial to longevity (nonsense fake studies without real evidence). It seems the vaccine lovers may have read Aaron Siri’s book and are trying to counter things like the Japanese measles study that revealed cardio protective effects from having had measles and recovered naturally. I am now seeing the occasional headline from Medscape.
I’m all over the vaccine scene like white on rice. I read way too much of it daily, and have done so for 6-7 years. It’s one solid reason I refused the covid “vaccine”. And yes, I have noticed what you are seeing.
I also regularly see silly-ish questions on all the FB and Instagram vaccine pages, (there are dozens) asking simpleton questions. I’m sure some are legit from new parents but I also feel many are trolling to better combat our “dis-“ information through the smoke & mirrors “studies”.
I tend to answer anyway, in hopes that the trolls learn something and back off vaccines for their kids.
I try not to click on Medscape articles very often (signed up a long time ago as a young surgery resident, and it continues to show up in my email)… but it seems they are grasping at every straw to convince people that vaccines are good. At times I think I’m wasting my
time but recently a friend’s daughter said she sends all the studies and articles I send her, to several other young moms. She said she knows of at least three who radically changed their position on vaccines and stopped giving them altogether. If I had the slightest hand in a kid not having autism or SIDS or even just eczema, it’s all been well worth my time.
