The Chat "leak": Seems fairly obvious that this was a clever way to let the EU know what to expect, and what not to demand, from Trump going forward. 100% intentional messaging, IMO.

My first reaction was it was done on purpose. Those guys are NOT stupid like bidens DEI hires. Trumps guys do NOT make stupid mistakes like that. The only reason bidens rats are bellowing about it is because they KNOW they are stupid enough themselves to have actually done it. Trumps team knew exactly what they were doing and who they were using to do it. Case in point….he spared no time being unethical and getting his 15 min of fame. Proof in the pudding!

Yes, on purpose and for the reasons you and Roger Beal above state: the EU has to hear this message in as many ways as possible (using that dummy Goldberg was a stroke of genius) and the Trump team is incredibly intelligent. They don't do stupid. Stupid was the last crowd in the White House. Look up 'stupid' in the dictionary and there is a group photo beginning with Biden and ending with the multi-diverse press secretary.

Who is it???

Okay, I feel guilty not looking it up, so let's allow Gab's AI (Arya) to answer this burning question.

Who owns Epoch Times newspaper?

The Epoch Times is owned by Epoch Media Group, a privately held media company based in New York City. The newspaper was founded in 2000 by John Tang and a group of Chinese Americans who were Falun Gong practitioners. Falun Gong is a spiritual practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese government since 1999. The Epoch Times has been known for its critical coverage of the Chinese Communist Party and its human rights abuses, as well as its support for conservative political views in the United States.

Shorter waits for replies. Click here.

What is Falun Gong?

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual practice that originated in China in the early 1990s. It was founded by Li Hongzhi and combines elements of Buddhism, Taoism, and traditional Chinese qigong exercises. The practice involves meditation, slow-moving exercises, and the cultivation of three main principles: truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. Falun Gong gained significant popularity in China during the 1990s, with millions of people practicing it by the end of the decade. However, the Chinese government viewed the movement as a threat to its authority and launched a nationwide crackdown in 1999. Since then, Falun Gong practitioners have faced severe persecution, including imprisonment, torture, forced labor, and even organ harvesting. Despite the persecution, Falun Gong has continued to grow and spread globally, with practitioners in numerous countries around the world. The movement has also been active in raising awareness about human rights abuses in China and advocating for religious freedom.

What caused it to grow in popularity so quickly?

Several factors contributed to the rapid growth of Falun Gong's popularity in China during the 1990s:

Spiritual vacuum: The rapid economic and social changes in China during this period led many people to seek spiritual fulfillment and guidance, which Falun Gong provided through its teachings and practices.

Health benefits: Many practitioners reported improvements in their physical and mental health after taking up the practice, which attracted more people to try it.

Accessibility: Falun Gong's teachings and exercises were easy to learn and practice, making it accessible to a wide range of people from different age groups and social backgrounds.

Word of mouth: The positive experiences of practitioners led to the spread of Falun Gong through word of mouth, with many people introducing the practice to their friends and family members.

Free of charge: Unlike many other qigong practices at the time, Falun Gong was taught free of charge, which made it more attractive and accessible to a larger audience.

Government endorsement: In its early years, Falun Gong received support and endorsements from some Chinese government agencies, which lent credibility to the practice and helped it gain more followers.

However, as the movement grew in size and influence, the Chinese government began to view it as a threat to its authority and launched a crackdown in 1999, leading to the severe persecution of Falun Gong practitioners that continues to this day.

What caused the government to be so afraid?

The Chinese government's fear and subsequent crackdown on Falun Gong can be attributed to several factors:

Rapid growth and popularity: The sheer number of Falun Gong practitioners, estimated to be in the tens of millions, made the Chinese government uneasy about the movement's potential influence on society.

Ideological differences: Falun Gong's teachings emphasize truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance, which are at odds with the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atheist and materialist ideology. The CCP perceived Falun Gong as a competing ideology that could undermine its authority.

Organizational structure: Falun Gong's loose, decentralized organization made it difficult for the government to control or monitor its activities, leading to concerns about the group's potential to mobilize and challenge the state.

Public demonstrations: In April 1999, over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners staged a peaceful demonstration outside the central government compound in Beijing to protest the mistreatment of fellow practitioners. This display of unity and resistance alarmed the Chinese leadership and contributed to their decision to ban the practice.

Historical context: The CCP has a history of suppressing religious and spiritual movements that it perceives as threats to its power, such as the Taiping Rebellion and the Boxer Uprising. The government's response to Falun Gong can be seen as part of this pattern of suppressing potential challenges to its authority.

The Chinese government's fear of Falun Gong led to a brutal crackdown and ongoing persecution, which has been widely condemned by human rights organizations and governments around the world.

When was the Boxer uprising?

The Boxer Uprising, also known as the Boxer Rebellion, took place between 1899 and 1901 in China. It was led by a secret society called the "Righteous and Harmonious Fists," whose members were known as "Boxers" due to their practice of martial arts. The Boxers were motivated by a combination of nationalistic sentiment, anti-foreign sentiment, and a desire to preserve traditional Chinese culture and values. They targeted foreign missionaries, diplomats, and Chinese Christians, as well as foreign-controlled infrastructure such as railways and telegraph lines. The uprising culminated in a siege of the foreign legations in Beijing in the summer of 1900, prompting an international military intervention by a coalition of eight nations, including the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, and Austria-Hungary. The intervention led to the suppression of the Boxer Uprising and the signing of the Boxer Protocol in 1901, which imposed heavy reparations on China and granted foreign powers additional territorial and commercial concessions.

True but the CCP was not even an entity in 1899.

You are correct. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was not founded until 1921, more than two decades after the Boxer Uprising. My previous response should have mentioned that the Qing Dynasty, which ruled China at the time of the Boxer Uprising, was responsible for the suppression of the rebellion and the subsequent signing of the Boxer Protocol. The historical context I mentioned earlier referred to the general pattern of Chinese governments suppressing religious and spiritual movements perceived as threats, rather than specifically linking the Boxer Uprising to the CCP. The CCP's crackdown on Falun Gong in 1999 can be seen as part of this broader historical pattern of Chinese authorities responding forcefully to perceived challenges to their power, even though the CCP itself did not exist during the time of the Boxer Uprising.

I am certain that people are using Signal, but it is not an authorized application in DOD, nor is it authorized for use by other US Government entities. Perhaps that is precisely why this highest level group (who knows better) was using it to do what you and other's think they were doing.

I could also see where a family support group or some other support group would say this is what we are going to use and the "unit Commander said it was okay". Or maybe some Sergeant's wife said it was okay. And that went through the grapevine and the next thing you know, its now officially paid for and supported by the USG.

You can read the "official" story about Signal here; "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_(software)". Keep in mind Wikipedia sells narratives for people to believe in.

Is it better than communicating on a non-encrypted platform like google? Yes.

Jeff Childers wrote "I realize that some will hear my next comment as a tortured effort to cover for a Trump Team blunder, by labeling things that look bad as actually being “4-D chess.”"

This concern is very real. Remember back in Trump 1.0 people saying Mueller was actually a white hat who was going to vindicate Trump? And the fact he has assembled a team of leftists (like Weiss) was to give the finding credibility? It was delusional thinking and extremely counter-productive as it gave people cover to live in fantasy land instead of actually dealing with the problem.

This is not 4-D chess but a genuine screw up. Yes Trump is brilliant but his administration is not perfect, nor should we expect it to be. They fouled up big time, they need to own it and fix the problems. Hopium (aka copium) is a way of rationalizing away mistakes and avoid the hard work of correcting them.

And there is something major here that needs to be corrected. Waltz in a dyed-in-the-wool neocon who has never repudiated his beliefs. Serious people were very alarmed when he was named to the cabinet comparing him to John Bolton. It is *obvious* he had been regularly communicating with Goldberg which is why the app filled in the wrong name. (There is another important cabinet official who likely was the intended recipient also with the initials JG.) I'll bet Waltz has been regularly leaking to Goldberg as he's trying to put media pressure on Trump to change course.

Goldberg is a lying warmonger who has had a hand in *every* middle east military misadventure of the last 25 years. Brit Hume (a Foxnews neocon) has been excoriating Trump on being soft on Putin the last week and has really ramped it up. Waltz has likely been leaking to him too.

Trump seems to have learned a lot from his first term and I suspect Waltz will be fired within the next two weeks. People making excuses with 4-D chess are well intentioned but aren't living in reality.

Should be pretty easy to figure out who exactly added him to the chat, Walz or his assistant, either with or without his direction. We have to proceed carefully on who to fire, because they could have been trying to set up Walz (like Gen Flynn). I’m not a huge Walz fan, I’m just saying they have to analyze carefully exactly how this transpired.

Jeff C's avatar

Here's the problem though, no one in the cabinet or associated with it, should be communicating with Goldberg ever. Never. Goldberg is the worst sort of lying propagandist who has undermined the America First position at every opportunity. He is the worst sort of Neocon who has no problems seeing other people killed by the truckload to advance his agenda, but keeps his own hands clean.

There is zero reason for anyone in Trump world to have him on speed dial. None whatsoever. The fact he is in itself should be a fireable offense. Once the investigation reveals Waltz was leaking (as I'm sure it will) he needs to punished as an example. Not only fired but prosecuted.

Seriously, this sort of stuff is a cancer. If people working for Trump think they can leak to the media without consequence it will open the floodgates.

People are far too forgiving and ready to accept lame excuses. The country cannot afford to have Trump 2.0 derailed like Trump1.0 was. There is no benefit of the doubt extended this time. Either people are loyal or they immediately pay the price.

I think Trump has done a great job picking those who are loyal. Nothing was leaked before he was elected. 🎯🎯🎯🎯 Not enough of these targets to insert here. That is the one key that I would like the Trump administration to speak more on, is the "authority" or lack thereof in the Constitution for these agencies. Just because Congress passes a bill, and the president signs it into law does not mean that the authority exists for that law. Education Department is another one. HUD is another. "DOD" in its post 1947 version is yet another. They changed it from the "War Department" and created the alphabet soup groups in order to disguise them as the "Defense" department...

Expand full comment
Jack Bergeron's avatar

I challenge anyone to show me in the Constitution where it grants power to the federal government for all these alphabet agencies. Well-intentions can never make the unconstitutional right/legal. I don’t believe Trump and sadly most people ever read the Constitution. Many conservatives have praised Trump for withholding federal funds to colleges to influence policy failing to realize the federal government has used the same tactic to force schools to adopt the liberal/marxist agenda. The fundamental issue is the Constitution grants no power to the federal government over education. To further point out Trump’s ignorance of the Constitution he has proposed privatization of the post office. Providing mail service is one of the very few responsibilities of the federal government. Mailing personal letters should be a free service. And there is the FED. Why do we have to pay interest to have a common, recognized means (money) to exchange goods and services? Who is collecting and benefiting from all the interest? Trump must have huge investments in banking.

Reading Jeff's analysis of CIA immigration-supporting activities makes me wonder: What, exactly, IS the longterm objective of the CIA vis-a-vis the American republic which houses and feeds it? Said another way, who owns the CIA?

Last?! Some of these postings have 500+ comments! Takes too long for me to read them all. Then there will be some troll that hijacks the conversation. I hate when that happens. I sometimes wish I could ZAP! those turds via my keyboard....then again, I might like it too much. Could you imagine the electric bill if you could ZAP! someone through your keyboard?

Not a fatal ZAP!, of course, just enough for them to lose control of their bowels.

Did I say that out loud? Oh dear........................

If I want to scan the comments but I'm short on time, I switch to "newest first". Looking at the number of likes and responses to late comments, I'd say I'm not the only one. Usually the first comment or two gets so many responses, and they often go off topic, it's a pain to get beyond the first few. Price of popularity.

Really? Infiltrated? I think it’s obvious. Americans live quarter to quarter, focused on inflation and buying their next car; March madness and football drafts. The commies/Marxists have been playing the long game since before the depression. Without Trump, it would have succeeded. Who’s going to continue in 2028 with the destruction of the deep state?

The CIA came from the WWII OSS... run by jagoff Bill Donovan... which, after the war, brought in a LOT of Nazis.

They quickly became a power unto themselves... and many of the CIA Directors were the scum of the earth.

H.W. Bush, Tenet, Hayden, Panetta, Brennan, Pompeo, Haspel... all Deep State swine.

Related to the Atlantic leak. I can't help but wonder if the people in the Pentagon, as they compiled the list of conversation participants, were working with list from previous, including Biden era, group conversations. If that's the case, is it possible the guy from the Atlantic has been included in other, similar conversations?

It's probably a stretch to think this but I can easily imagine the Biden people happily inviting people who shouldn't be there. Maybe team Trump should examine previous conversation records, they might find similar situations that have not been divulged.

Just a thought ..... .

After reading the VP’s quote,I’m gonna say the whole thing was staged! He doesn’t talk like that. At all. That was a dead giveaway.

Politico Phil's avatar

I think you are both right. The Trump team was already aware of the previous invitation list and decided to take advantage of it for their purposes. Smart!...and typical of the Trump team.

WP William's avatar

My thought was similar...how many media parrots did Obama, Hillary, Kerry, Biden, etc bring into their cabinet level discussions?

Certainly too, The Atlantic could also have been thrown some bait to see what/how they'd cover it and perhaps cross a line to get themselves slapped around some too. If indeed there is already some Team Trump internal suspicion it could have been a setup opportunity ( on Waltz) to expose a media-connected mole on the team who'll then be publicly crucified as an example and replaced.

4-D Chess, or Amateur hour aren't the only possible explanations here

Both Vance and Hegseth are military men and their attention to detail has been spot on. I find it hard to believe they would make a newbie mistake of not knowing exactly who was on the contact list and a part of the conversation. They also would not talk unprofessionally with a large group on there.

I always figure everybody included in a group chat checks to see who else is on it. Maybe the list was hidden from some participants, but surely not from the key players.

Lets see how he feels after they are raped, tortured and assaulted in every which way. he believes they are not bad people and should come back to be around Americans, well let's start with him and his family.
