I’m not sure that I would call Russia an ally. We used them as an “enemy of our enemy” (A godless, faithless thing to do), but before that they were allies with Germany. The communist Russians were never good and still are not good. At the end of the war those “allies” of ours turned into our enemies practically instantly, and if you think about it maybe we were enemies before the war even ended.
