Ilhan Omar has threatened to have President Trump executed. Here’s a naturalized citizen who made numerous illegal fraudulent statements to become a citizen. She has said her country of Somalia will always come first, she has magically become super wealthy with now over 40 million dollars in the bank in just 2 years, she has consistently shown her hatred for America, daily, and I ask why do we need Ilhan Omar’s in our country? Diversity is our strength? Is the reason we let her in because she is willing to rob America’s poor that other Americans are just simply unwilling to rob?

Remember the disabled Air Force veteran that threatened to kill Joe Biden on line, the man could barely walk. Biden’s FBI raided the disabled veterans house with a swat team, tear gassed him, entered his house and shot him a dozen times. They dragged his dead body out to the street covered him in a bloody white sheet and left him out in the hot sun for hours, just to show everyone this is what you get when you threaten a Democrat president. I realize he was just an old white guy. Doesn’t it make clear that this justice system is anything but blind. Where’s Pam Bondi on Ilhans assassination threat? Where’s the swat team? Didn’t the miraculous Merrick Garland, Americas Attorney General, set the legal precedent?

The spineless Republican Congress couldn’t even get a censure on Ilhan for mocking the assassination of Charlie Kirk. This assassination thing seems to be an ongoing theme with naturalized Ilhan. Now she’s threatening the assassination of President Trump, and not one Democrat is calling her out.

I’ve heard rumors not if but when the democrats get back into power they want to make Ilhan Omar the U.S. Attorney General, I’m sure many senate republicans would definitely vote yes to confirm her not wanting to be called racist. Ilhan would put Merrick Garlands tyrannical rule to shame. Those who say don’t vote or stay home on Election Day better reconsider, you haven’t seen tyranny like the tyranny Somalian Ilhan Omar is wanting to serve. In the end You get what you’re not willing to stand up and fight for. J.Goodrich

I got caught up in this omar issue and failed to comment on Jeff's way bigger story, this destruction - by President Trump and EPA Director Zeldin - of the corrupt ovomit "administration's" climate change finding which very nearly destroyed and bankrupted the USA.

Re: "President Trump, in his classic style, told reporters the now-terminated endangerment finding was “all a scam, a giant scam” done by “stupid people.” They sneered at his unscientific language. Experts don’t talk like that! But they missed the gist; that was Trump’s unspoken point. Experts are stupid people who think they are smart."

President Trump is exactly correct, and this and so many other great accomplishments are why I voted for him 6 times!

Your thoughts on this issue J. Goodrich?

Kathy Sincere's avatar

"President Trump and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin formally terminated the Obama-era “endangerment finding". Now the next "formal termination" needs to be fluoridation of our water which the courts have already determined need to go. Why is this administration backing fluoridation?

AI Overview

In a landmark September 2024 ruling, a U.S. federal court ordered the EPA to take action against water fluoridation, finding it poses an "unreasonable risk" of neurotoxicity to children, particularly at levels added to drinking water

. The lawsuit, led by the Fluoride Action Network (FAN), argued under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) that fluoride exposure poses risks to brain development. While the EPA is pursuing an appeal in 2025-2026, the initial 2024 ruling represents a major shift in the legal fight against water fluoridation.

RunningLogic's avatar

I’m guessing it’s along the lines of what Jeff said, they have to get everything out into place exactly right or she’ll skate 😕

Synickel's avatar

Jeff's explanation is too simple. The feds have access to vast technology and info that can dig up more than what we see on the surface. And, believe me, they already have it. If someone is discovered to be doing crooked things that we all see, be assured that they are doing way more things in the dark that are criminal and that the feds already know about. It is a matter of the DOJ being willing to activate action. There a political layers we don't have a clue about, and it's all mostly theater. Look at the Hawley and Ellison exchange that accomplished exactly nothing except entertainment.

Cheryl Schroeder's avatar

I guess it could also be that they want to force us to look at it and remember how corrupt they are in MN before they put it to rest? But they BETTER put it to rest and make her an example.

Astragale's avatar

Agree re. Hawley & Ellison.

Jeff explains that it’s not easy to prosecute, let alone convict, Ellison.

That means there’s a BIG problem with the ‘justice’ system.

Ellison’s ON TAPE - a tape used in the fraudsters’ trial - SAYING he’ll try to stop the FRAUD INVESTIGATION.

In what justice system is that not damning evidence of his corruption & attempt to pervert the course of justice & enable theft of tax dollars???

SHug's avatar

And don't forget that $10K bribe - oops 'donation' they gave him as payment.

David K Thiel's avatar

It is not "what they can dig up" it what court and what jury it is going to be presented to. The "it" has to be so ironclad that no blue judge or jury can do nothing but call it what it is. That kind of evidence is hard to find. Just look at what happened with the Seditious 6 grand jury hearing for example.

ILoveherbs's avatar

The smirk on Ellison's face was annoying. It told me he's very confident in his position.

Okay, this Omar thing has me really pissed off. If you want to read all of the facts which the lying media steadfastly black holes or gas lights, please take the few minutes to read this IMPRIMIS "Learning from Minnesota's Somali Fraud Scandal" at:

https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/learning-from-minnesotas-somali-fraud-scandal/

This has been going on for years and years and Omar is rich because of the fraud - which begs the question, why is she not under indictment already and being prosecuted? Same goes for Walz and many "working" in his fraudulent "administration" doing nothing or looking the other way. When you read the Imprimis you will note that the money comes from the Federal Department of Agriculture and (SO, yours and my tax dollars) and "administered" by a state department and then further by fraudsters like AWFL Aimee Bock - who IS prosecuted and IS going to prison... so there is hope.

The magnitude of the fraud is staggering and no one can tell me that walz and omar did not KNOW and MASSIVELY profit from it through kickbacks and donations.

The Sh** needs to hit the fan and soon. We NEED PERP WALKS of these criminals.

And again, if you think it is bad in MN, Calif fraud dwarfs it.

Omar needs to be removed from Congress and JAILED as does Walz. What in the hell is the delay!!??

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Also recently Jeff updated us on the Seditious Six and the fact that a DC "grand jury" (chock full of liberal ideologues) found no grounds to indict! And further, a "judge" has blocked Secretary Hegseth from punishing my awful senator mark kelly for his leading role in the seditious act (Hegseth has said he will appeal). Here again, if you want to understand why what they did was seditious and deserves real punishment for the damage done to the chain of command in every military branch, then it is imperative to read this Imprimis, "The Dangers of Undermining U.S. Civil–Military Relations" by Mackubin Thomas Owens at:

https://imprimis.hillsdale.edu/the-dangers-of-undermining-u-s-civil-military-relations/

What these corrupt criminals did was sedition, pure and simple, and they are being let off the hook by other corrupt criminals. This must not stand!

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Oh, and if you are not receiving IMPRIMIS - a Hillsdale College publication, please go and register to receive it. They will send you a monthly paper edition completely free of charge - although I do donate $10 a month to help fund it - it is not required.

And of course you can read each monthly edition online at:

It is worth your time.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

I am on their list, and get the monthly publication.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

How can a judge interfere with Hegseth imposing a military punishment?

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Exactly! Only in corrupt America could a judge involve themselves in military discipline and get away with it. And only because the guilty party is the very corrupt faux senator mark kelly - who didn't win his election - it too was manipulated to put him into power.

From a quick search, some clarification: "Appealing a military Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) decision involves a structured, multi-level process, starting with an automatic review for severe punishments, moving to service-specific Courts of Criminal Appeals, and potentially the

U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (CAAF) and U.S. Supreme Court. Appeals focus on legal errors, rather than re-trying facts, and require strict deadlines, often within two years of conviction."

I suspect this an effort to run out the clock to save that bald headed gargoyle's scalp. They will try to steal the 2026 election and retake the house and senate and undermine all the efforts of the Trump administration, previous, current, future. The American people better stand up.

This situation is just a small example, along with MN fraud and in every other "blue" run state, of the deeply broken and corrupt system we find ourselves under - with President Trump and his team being our only hope to destroy it root and branch.

RunningLogic's avatar

This is exactly why not much has been done, I think. They have to get everything set up right so there can be actual consequences. Right now blue judges and juries are nullifying any actions 😕

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

You are right, 100%, they have been packing the judiciary for at least 20 years so they would be able to do what they are doing - AZ's judiciary is deeply corrupt because of this. And remember these "judges" have been put in power over us by manipulated elections.

Gary's avatar

I was under the impression that Hegseth could call Kelly back to duty and court marshal him. And should.

Steve Stevens's avatar

Didn’t the seditious six just repeat a military rule that you don’t have to obey illegal orders?

Rightly So's avatar

I also find it intriguing that AG Ellison "dared" Senator Hawley to "do something about it," while speaking of the fraud. Pretty ballsy, if I may say so, myself! But then I'm just a deplorable peon, so what do I know? Prosecute? Hell, yes! Is it ever going to happen? Probably not. The downfall of a nation in the throes of its demise... Sad. And frightening.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I submit keith ellison was s_Elected to oversee, protect, and profit from, the somali fraud in MN.

ellison (whose name I refuse to capitalize) is a criminal, deeply corrupt, always has been.

Rightly So's avatar

And THAT is precisely why he needs to be prosecuted, convicted and imprisoned if we are to save this country from the demise I mentioned.

What say you, Bondi????

David Nelson's avatar

Dan, I first mis-redd that as "I submit keith ellison was elected overseas..."

But, I _understood_ it!

Aegeandreams's avatar

Teresa Parmenter's avatar

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

She needs to be in prison. A US FEDERAL prison for about 50 years. She is a model for everything which is wrong in the country. AG Bondi needs to get in gear on this and so does Speaker Johnson-what in the hell is the delay? Is it because Omar is just doing the same corrupt activities as all the rest of congress with their corrupt influence peddling?

RunningLogic's avatar

I really don’t even want her in prison, unless we can get another less cushy country to take her. I want her kicked out, she doesn’t deserve to be here between her hate for this country and the fraud.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I don't want her walking free, anywhere on this planet. She needs to do hard time for the damage she and her somali pirate community have done, and are doing.

Getting set free somewhere else is not accountability, going to prison for her deep corruption and malfeasance is accountability and a cautionary warning for anyone else.

Sir Jeff Morency, Ph.D.'s avatar

I "never" did like them because they're "always" false.

Dave aka Geezermann's avatar

I didn't remember that happened. Further proof that the FBI at the time was 100% compromised after the stolen election. They were used as gestapo enforcers. Omar must be charged with all the crimes she has committed, then deported.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

There definitely was an FBI raid on an Air Force veteran due to his death threats on Biden that led to this man’s demise, but the “bloody sheet in the sun to terrorize critics” claims circulated on social media are not supported by verified facts. So I’m not sure if that part is true. Either way, it’s awful. More “rules for thee” and all that jazz.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

No, not deported, imprisoned in a US Federal Penitentiary for a long long time. She can wear a black and white stripped "turbin" for all I care, or whatever that stupid thing she wears on her head - for fashion - is called.

Janice albert's avatar

If she is deported back to Somalia, does she then get all the money she sent over there…?

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Probably, which is why I want the America hating corrupt criminal in PRISON for a very long time. NO DEPORTATION, PRISON NOW! She doesn't become 30-40 MILLION dollars rich without MASSIVE FRAUD!

Somalia has no legitimate government. The entire somali population in MN STP needs to be checked for immigration status and for fraud activities and either need removal or prosecution - it is not by chance they have gathered there at well over 100,000 in number.

RunningLogic's avatar

I’d still rather she be out of the country, maybe Bukele will take her.

Merry McIntyre's avatar

Why should tax payers also pay for her imprisonment? Hung, drawn & quartered for treason/fraud is more like it. More AFFORDABLE & more effective.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

I could live with that. But she mustn't walk freely anywhere on the face of the planet.

Silent scorn's avatar

Aegeandreams's avatar

And I will say it again and again until people really get it. We are literally fighting demons now, they are no longer human except in outward appearance. This kind of malevolence only comes from one place; Satan. This was all foretold in the Bible and as such, we best get prepared for we are watching an escalation of Hell being unleashed on this beautiful earth that God created.

We must be active and vigilant and expose those that are demons and continually put pressure in every way to have them exposed and have them come to complete ruination.

The degree of fetid sputum coming out of their mouths where they can defend the worst of criminals, defend their own hands in active fraud, deny child molestation and ritual sacrifice and put true Americans at risk daily by fighting law enforcement is proof they are demonic.

May God hear our prayers to cast the demons out and bring back what is moral and good in His eyes to our beautiful America.

Aegeandreams's avatar

Tea Party on steroids. We need to reclaim our country as hard as that will be and be willing to sacrifice what is it going to take. We are a Christian country built of conservative beliefs and demand our govt work for us, not the other way around. Show up to the voting booths each and every time, protest when we see abominations happen like fraud, child sacrifice, mandates of jabs, censorship, following what the elite say and the list goes on. This country was made for the common man and woman, not a bunch of sick twist elites who drink the blood of the innocent. WE have to take our country back and punish those who hate America and what she stands for.

OTOH, there are many more substantial issues that Trump needs to deal with & that would guarantee a charge of racism from the blue haired AND the blonde AWFLs.

There may well be charges percolating that will get her deported or imprisoned that we don’t know about (also, any charges brought in an election year will be considered election interference by the press since she is a Dem and a POC.

I've enjoyed watching movies all my life. But it hasn't been until recent years that it has become harder and harder to watch a film without the distraction of the actors' and producers' political views interjecting into the story line. Even if the message of the movie does not irritate me, I can't stay focused on the story without thinking about the real world statements and actions made by the libtard actors, usually through their social media posts and interviews where they act like the public is waiting with bated breath to know what THEY think on any given issue. Thus I do not see many new movies these days.

Juju's avatar

Same. Exact same. We used to be movie-holics, but we have seen only two new movies in the past year. Just two.

We rewatched a few, and half were hard to watch because of us noticing the pushing of propaganda that we didn’t notice a couple decades ago when we were clueless. So only half of the rewatches were enjoyable.

Good ol’ Die Hard never disappoints. 🤣

Chris Fetzer's avatar

Give the Melania movie a chance. It was well done and she is a class act.

Juju's avatar

I definitely plan on seeing that one! I also will watch anything Angel Studios does

Melissa S's avatar

I also have a great track record on predicting the films that will get the coveted awards, even though I have never even seen them. Just give me the plot and the big name actors as well as their sexual orientations, ethnic make-up, and their nepo status. It's so easy!

Annette's avatar

We signed up for Angel Studios streaming. There are some well-made movies and shows with an undercurrent of biblical values on Angel.

Jeff made reference to “mirror, mirror on the wall” as I remembered it too though the original movie quote is “magic mirror on the wall”. It’s one of the Mandela effects! 🤷‍♂️

I am physically sensitive to loud sounds. The dog barking next door will make my body react with a jerk. The last movie I saw in a theater was pure torture, so now I just wait until they come out on DVD and watch it where I can control the volume.

Austin the Pug-puppy's avatar

I too have noticed how the movies have changed. In the early 2000's, I started noticing, more and more, how the "bad guys" seemed to continually "get away with murder" in the literal sense. One specifically was "Unfaithful" with Richard Gere, a 2002 movie. Totally got a way with murder! Hollywood should be ashamed.

These days, since Hollywood doesn't have a unique thought in their heads (I think Jeff did a segment about how the CIA pretty much dictates to Hollywood movie content) I typically watch the black and white movies 😍 or watch foreign movies....although even they seem to be moving into the "woke" themes.

There are 2 more biopics streaming now that the wife and I recently watched and very much enjoyed:

1. John Candy: I Like Me

2. Billy Joel: And So It Goes

1 is a movie, 2 is a two-part series that runs for 2.5 hours total, w/ extensive interviews w/ Billy’s first wife Elizabeth Weber.

We went to theatre In January to take in Neil Diamond’s musical ‘A Beautiful Noise’ so I’ll have to check out Song, Sung Blue.

As it were, my favorite Diamond tune is ‘Crunchy Granola Suite’ which should be the anthem for MAHA

A relatively recent phenomena has been Hollywood's demand that we pretend relatively-plain women are beautiful. Rachel Ziegler is not ugly, but she's not beautiful by any means (regardless of her race). Even without her repulsive personality, she's mid-level attractive, just like 10,000 mid-twenties cashiers you'll see in Midwestern Walmarts. Yet if anyone dares state this obvious truth they are a misogynist and a racist, a two-fer so to speak.

I first noticed this with Michelle Obama who the media/Hollywood demanded we see as beautiful and glamorous. Huh? Are we talking about the same person? It's not just them lying to us, but demanding we agree with the lie. Ultimately it's a humiliation ritual.

The Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein release has been baffling. They took what should have been a slam dunk win for the administration and turned it into a real liability with apparent stonewalling, obfuscation, absurd “nothing to see here claims”, along with demands that the base just shut up and take it. No one is happy.

Pam Bondi’s performance before Congress was bizarre and amateur, appearing to argue that people should move on from Epstein because the Dow is at 50,000. Unlike Bessent who dismissed Congress’ absurd characterizations with maturity and cutting wit, she looked unhinged and deranged. This is the same person who claimed “the files were on her desk” back in April, pulled the phony binders stunt with a bunch of RW twitter people, and then dropped the weekend DOJ memo that said, “case closed, nothing to see here”. Truly an untrustworthy person.

None of this makes any sense. If Trump had released all of the files early in his administration he would have been seen as a hero of transparency. Trump himself has stoked the Epstein flames in the past so it would have been seen as promise fulfilled. Instead we got a year of stunts and obviously false statements, followed by Trump being forced to release them anyways. It was a rare Trump strategic failure, and entirely self-inflicted.

Obviously the administration is covering up something, probably with good intentions, but what? Some possibilities…

1) Trump and/or his family are personally implicated – this is the Democrat’s fever dream and it’s almost certainly not true based on what we know so far. However, the administration’s actions have given fuel to this speculation, an entirely self-inflicted wound.

2) Trump’s associates and/or cabinet are implicated – this starts to make more sense, particularly with Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick’s association with Epstein. He shows up in the files far too often, including a bizarre email where he specifically lists his young kids ages.

3) Trump doesn’t want the world to know Epstein was working with CIA, UK’s GCHQ, Israel’s Mossad, or other intelligence agencies. He did this to compromise powerful people through blackmail. We all know these organizations are scum and will do anything to advance their agenda, so I’m not sure what Trump’s protecting here. Trump has been personally targeted by the CIA and the GCHQ, likely Mossad too. I don’t understand why he would feel loyalty toward them.

4) Trump doesn’t want the world to see Epstein and his associates blatant sense of Jewish supremacy - Epstein and his pals show open hostility toward non-Jews calling them “goyim”, “cattle”, and speaking of them in sub-human terms, as pawns to be exploited. Trump may understandably be concerned this would cause hostility toward Israel and Jews in general. Plus it seems to confirm a common stereotype about Jewish behavior.

5) Trump doesn’t want the people to know just how depraved and sociopathic the world’s elite truly are. This is the only thing that seems to make sense to me. Trump got a glimpse of the truly demonic evil behind the curtain and he wants to shield us from it like father protecting a child’s innocence. But it’s way too late for that, “the truth shall set you free” as Christ said. We deserve to know what we are dealing with.

None of these explanations is very satisfying. But Trump, who has shown us has an uncanny ability to see things far before anyone else, fumbled this one badly. Maybe this is part of some magnificent 5-D chess and Trump will turn the tables on them all. Maybe. But it’s getting a little late for that and sometimes people just screw up badly, even brilliant people.

Edit: typos

LMWC's avatar

Constant questioning of everything Trump does by those who supposedly support him. I don’t get it. If Bondi is being kept in place, there is a reason for it.

To me the best news from Jeff Childers today was the Obama rule obliterated. I have a 2023 Ford Edge. The shutting off of the vehicle engine at every stoplight or stop sign is ridiculous. When I bought the car, I asked the salesman why? His reply, an EPA rule. Getting rid of this stupid Obama era dictate can open the door for Zeldin to go forward getting rid of all kinds of climate change dreck. Maybe we can get a handle on chem trails now. This is happy dance news.

Let the Man Work!

Taiga's avatar

Many of us learned during the Covid debacle that constant questioning is survival. Blind trust in anyone's competence and benevolence is irresponsible.

LMWC's avatar

Questioning is fine, and I fully trust no one on this earth, but it seems that many question every move, the minute it doesn’t fit their perceived scenario and then they demand arrests and prosecutions or get rid of them. As Jeff Childers stated, arresting and prosecutions are not easy and as we have seen already much of the judicial system in this country was taken over by the Marxists without our realizing it. Everything is being revealed in it’s time.

Taiga's avatar

I agree that we shouldn't micromanage. However, the overall pattern of the Republican Congress demands questions to be asked. First refusal, then limited release, then mandated release but refusal to disclose anyway via over-redaction of names evidences a cover-up. Massie disclosed part of that cover-up. Americans want disclosure - not the paternal, "we're acting. in your best interests where a useless mask" charade that only damages us. We want the identities of feckless gray-men who are ruining our lives and the lives of our children.

Aegeandreams's avatar

LOL, I am much more worried about the dems child sacrifice and blood letting and the massive amounts of fraud that have cost me money and violence toward law enforcement.

Bard Joseph's avatar

LMWC's avatar

Yes, I can turn it off when I start my car, but every time I restart my car, it has to be redone again. It is a stupid feature.

LiveDreamRepeat's avatar

There's an option called FORSCAN that you could utilize, if you or someone close to you is tech savvy. Essentially it lets you get into the coding of the car's technology l, and turn it off there. We've used FORSCAN for years to tune our 2016 F350 dually for towing our fifth wheel around the country.

CMCM's avatar

Same with my 2017 Toyota Highlander. However, on my car it’s triggered if you really push the brake in beyond where it has to go to stop the car. Otherwise it doesn’t kick in. Annoying as heck, though.

Starsky's avatar

I hate it because I live in Arizona and the shut off at stop lights also shuts off the AC. When it’s 115 outside, that thing needs to keep running at all times.

We the Sheeple's avatar

I agree than Bondi was HORRIFIC this week. She was totally detached from reality. Putting that aside, I feel like all.of the Epstein stuff has been deliberately orchestrated to lure the democrats into the trap. From the dust up between Trump and Musk "Trump is in the files" , to its a hoax has been carefully executed to have them all exposed at their own request. Just an observation from where I sit.

We have friends that are committed dems- for years they went from the Epstein files were a conspiracy theory to frequently posting that they want the files released- because Trump is a pedophile.

While I don't know what DOJ Barbie is up to or WHY shes behaving the way that she is I do see that the tides have turned on "the files"

I don't think Trump is personally implicated in anything with Epstein, that information would have been used against him years ago. His son-in-law, his associates, his cabinet, that seems to be another story.

I'm going with #3 on your list. Schumer already told us during Trump 1.0, that nobody f#cks with the intelligence community and lives to tell the tale, or something similar to that.

Taiga's avatar

We should not be left to guess why an elected official is acting against our interest. But if we are, as we were during Covid, we should be harshly realistic that it probably isn't our interests the elected have in mind. #4 in my opinion. Trump and all else are protecting the Jewish State from the avalanche of antisemitism. Its the only thing that makes any logical sense. I dont think the public has the ability to separate the state/idf/mossad from the Jews who live down their block.

Great post, Jeff C.

I’m also curious who/what Trump is protecting. There are only 4 terminals for Congress members to search the recent un redacted 3M Epstein file dump. The public only can see the redacted versions. Congress can see the un redacted, but only through these 4 terminals.

Further, it’s reported that Congress person cannot take an electronic device inside room of 4 terminals when viewing un redacted documents.

To top it off, it appears the DOJ is monitoring and recording the searches made on the terminals. Hello again, Big Brother.

Biden did not release any files. But if he did, and there was this level of DOJ monitoring the Right would be howling, very loudly.

I think the reason for the monitoring is 5, and could also be some of 3. Behind-the-scenes Trump firewalls are going to make conspiracies hotter & louder, IMO.

I'm glad to hear that Disney lost that much money on a woke remake. Interestingly, I just listed a vintage, unopened, sealed copy of the VHS Disney Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, 1994. It's on eBay for 999.00. But any offer at all will be accepted, lol. This was one I got at a yard sale several years ago.

Donna in MO's avatar

When ours were little in the 90s my hubby went on a quest to buy every single Disney movie there was. On VHS. Got them all but Song of the South, which had been banned due to racist content. Of course this was prior to us waking up to the insidiousness of Disney, and our kids grew up using their 'screen time' loving Dumbo, Lion King, Jungle Book and a few other favorites. Of course VHS tapes became dinosaurs, did have a relative with young kids and a working VCR ~2010 and unloaded the entire library on her. In retrospect the small fortune we spent would have been better used in their college funds but hindsight is always 20/20.

J. Lincoln's avatar

AI is to the point now where college expenses are questionable at best.

Donna in MO's avatar

True. but my kids graduated HS in 2012 and 2013. Son got an engineering degree and daughter dropped in and out for 7 years and ended up with an associates in HC admin/medical coding. Son works as a production mgr in plant that makes plastic bottles and pouches and daughter is a trainer for a health system and teaches providers tactics for getting the insurance companies to pay up.

All in my basement with so many years of history with children’s books and toys and VHS’ that are in rather good condition. Renea Buchholz's avatar

Was yours like a suitcase style? That is what i had. So many miles on that thing.

Juju's avatar

Mine opened like a suitcase, yes, but didn’t look like one. It was the shape of a small record player with a molded handle that was part of both the bottom and the lid, and where the lock closure was. I listened to all the stories hundreds of times as a kid. When my own daughter was little the records were still in perfect condition. After she and her brothers played with them only a handful of times they became beat up and the books attached to the album covers are now ripped. It’s odd how much we valued things when I was a little girl that our own kids took for granted in our world of excess today.

SHug's avatar

I try to avoid Amazon. For books i normally begin with Thriftbooks.com. If there are different editions i will normally go for the older editions since they are less likely to have been re-edited. Rarely get the "collectors" versions -i agree, too expensive.

Oh my gosh I needed this laugh today 😂😂😂

ranted Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), whose scientific credentials include barbecuing raw burgers with slices of cheese already on them and then posting the pictures on X. Not a genius.😂😂😂

It's not healthy for man to be idle. Elon's future is not for me.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

But would (s)he be idle? Or would that future free man to pursue that for which (s)he felt inspired? To create great works? Paintings, sculptures, architecture, literature, poetry? To homestead, farm, to pursue husbandry, or regenerative farming? To homeschool, to philosophize, to slow down, to contemplate, to conversate? To bake, create, innovate, indulge in culinary delight? It could be a new awakening…

I think a small percentage would thrive, most, however, would succumb to sloth with a lack of set purpose.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

Maybe that’s the goal. Eliminate the useless of the population. Maybe that would work?

Not only all those wonderful things and thoughts... but also revolutionary thoughts. When people are working their time and focus is consumed. When they get off work they want to chill out, crack a beer or whatever. I know I'm generalizing, but a lot of free time causes people to think. And when they realize they're in The Truman Show they're gonna start asking a lot of questions. If they're still alive by then.

Medieval peasants worked far fewer hours than the average American worker today.

They built those magnificent cathedrals during their off hours.

It’s a new kind of work…I loved my job. I enjoyed what I used do. We are programmed for purpose. If our current means of production become obsolete, that doesn’t mean we become idle. It simply means we shift. I’m not trying to “sell” anything. But I quit my job last year (new leadership, ideological misalignment), and now I spend my days baking and writing and creating…WOW! It’s been a great shift. And it didn’t take AI to make it happen. Freedom to pursue your passion is a beautiful thing…

Agreed. To get a preview of the future without work, look at the history of America's welfare state.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

That’s the scary part. What do they think will happen to the earth, with a bunch of fat, stupid, lazy humans laying about, whilst others actually work.

Lisa Runquist's avatar

Yup - work 6 days rest the 7th. :-)

If CO2 was so dangerous, why didn’t they take it out of our fizzy drinks and plant more trees? Plants love CO2!

Roger Beal's avatar

How 'bout when something goes wrong with the subterranean CO2 capture farms, like the one under my home?

Alan Devincentis's avatar

Hopefully that is shit down immediately, and any ideas to invest in that ridiculous idea get quashed as well. Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of.

Long time C&C (years) reader here requesting help for my grandchildren. I don’t enjoy doing this, but they lost EVERYTHING in a house fire Wednesday. They were renting the house and didn’t have insurance. I posted yesterday, but was so exhausted and depressed that I forgot to post the Go Fund Me Link which has pictures.

My grandsons, Joey and Brian lost everything in a devastating house fire day before yesterday. While they’re grateful to be alive, (Joey suffered from smoke inhalation. Brian was at work) they now face the challenge of rebuilding their lives from scratch and they (as well as their little dog) are homeless. The hotel that Joey works at is allowing them to temporarily stay for free. A friend is taking care of their pup.

They both are hard workers. Joey had also recently started a new business making custom 3-D products. He was doing well with it and had been able to cut his hours at his regular job so he could focus on growing his own business. Now that dream is gone. Fortunately, his employers value him and he can get his hours back at his regular job.

Brian is profoundly deaf and works full-time. He rode his bike to work since it was close to the house. I don’t know what will happen to him now. If he loses this job, it will be difficult for him to get another. People don’t like to hire deaf people. They are both good boys and I am proud to be their grandmother.

Their mom lives in England and is married to a man in the RAF (Royal Air Force.) She is doing her best to help them and is trying to get over here as soon as she can.

My husband (former vet) is disabled and I have 3 dogs so I cannot get over there (11 hour + drive) to help.

I’m sharing a Go Fund Me that my daughter started. Please consider donating a small amount to help them find a safe place to stay and get a fresh start.

Please also consider sharing their story. Every bit helps!

Donated. I hope what they gather really helps them start over. 🙏

My Favorite Things's avatar

Valerie,

Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness. Joey didn’t expect much help. My daughter’s (Adrienna) friend was helping the boys, and when Joey saw the amount of donations, he had to walk away to his car. Adrienna’s friend saw him crying alone in the car. Her friend pretended not to notice and didn’t say anything to Joey, but he did tell her.

Donated and praying for their swift recovery.

Cheryl,

Thank you! You will never know how deeply touched my grandsons are by the help they are receiving. Whilst this is tragic on so many levels, my grandsons are learning about how compassionate and caring most people truly are. In some ways, this has been a blessing.

Donated an amount ending in 2.

Also posted on X, hoping others will also.

Valerie's avatar

Dang it, I didn’t think to do a 2.

Donated, and wife said make sure they take care of the dog. Story Is too much the one posted yesterday, I think by Tritorch

RunningLogic's avatar

Donated and praying for them to be able to get back on their feet soon. House fires are devastating, not just materially but emotionally too. Keep us posted please 🙏
