I’m truly fatigued and simultaneously sick of the government. I am throwing my hands up in disgust. Things need to get done.

Yep other than my daily dose of C&C I have more or less checked out lately, aside from local issues. Call me when something real actually happens.

There is some good news on my local front - a big name D who had his eye on the County Exec spot next year just imploded, arrested on domestic battery charges. Granted there is a pack of jackals circling to take his spot but still nice to see justice served once in a while.

I've pretty much checked out, as well. However, something doesn't smell right in the Manny situation. The body language of the wife in the "missing + concern" statement did not ring true. (Don't put anything past Frank White!).

Well yes the inside scoop is the D party is pissed at him for cooperating with Sean Smith (one of the 2 R's on the legislature, although Jeanie is worthless and will be primaried if she runs next year) to try and derail Frank White. Manny has a day job working in some kind of consultant role for unions and they helped finance the Recall Frank White effort. So no doubt this is payback. Although I have also heard he has anger issues and so do not doubt he assaulted his wife. Too often such guys get by with bad behavior due to their insider status.

Although the Shawnee location of the alleged incident is curious. They are supposed to live in their districts and wonder if she had not tossed him out and he was living with his dad in Shawnee? And I am confused about the 'custody' issue as if they are still married at this point, not sure how she can be 'awarded custody' if there has not been a formal divorce yet. No fan of Manny, think he is a climber and an opportunist - he did next to nothing when the property tax debacle hit other than host a couple of town halls, whereas Sean worked his butt off helping people with appeals, the senior tax credit,. etc.

Thanks for the info. I wondered about the Shawnee address, as well. Plenty of dirty politics in KCMO. I appreciate and support Sean... He's about the only conservative we have in Jackson County. BTW, I received my property tax assessment in the mail yesterday. It delivered what was promised. For me, it will be a small tax reduction, but every dollar counts. Thanks again!

Omygosh, Kansas City politics? I thought you were discussing the plot of a popular soap opera! LOL

Well my friend Susan Culpepper is going to announce a run in the county legislature in the 5th district for 2026 soon, she is a real conservative. Many years on the Blue Springs CC. Not sure what Sean is going to do yet, he is up in 2026 too. I knocked a ton of doors for him against Cleaver last year but it was a horrid loss, can't beat Freedom Inc. Our assessment notice came today and our value went down!? Go figure. Not going to complain, like you said, every dollar counts! Our tax bill went up by $1200 in 23.

I wish Ms Culpepper luck. We need good conservative voices. I supported $ Sean, and would again. Cleaver is worthless.

There are a lot of dog walkers in my HOA. I spend hours talking with fellow female seniors. It is amazing how many still believe everything they hear on the local news.😵‍💫 If I can open one person's eyes, it is worth the effort.

And yes, keep talking!!! Although my 86 YO mom is the same, lifelong D who can't see that the party left her and watches CNN. Did get her to vote for Teresa Galvin, but refused to vote for Sean. She is in assisted living and doesn't drive so pays $0 property tax so didn't appreciate all his work helping seniors.

I don't get it - my team and I covered probably 2/3rds of Raytown at the doors - and it was overwhelmingly positive - a few said they were registering to vote for the first time. Only a handful of unhinged lefties, although only 1 in 4 or 5 actually open their doors when you knock. Also covered parts of Indep, Blue Springs and LS. Sean couldn't get the big donors to pony up as Cook Political Report had handicapped the race at -11 points, and evidently the big $ reads that. I thought, he'll get close and then run again in '26 and get the $$. NOPE. Also knocked a bunch of doors for Teresa Galvin in '22 - Waldo, Brookside, in addition to eastern Jack. Waldo and Brookside a waste of time - people asking if she was MAGA and her stance on abortion - even though those issues have nothing to do with Jackson County. Same results - Frank White walked away with it. She's pretty much pivoted to spending a lot of time in FL with her grandkids. I will think long and hard before I spend a lot of time supporting a county wide race next year. Patterson is my rep and he terms out as does Keri Ingle so will probably focus on state races next year. Ingle is already raising money to run for Cierpiot's SD 8 seat as he terms out too, so D's will be bringing their A game. She is odious but popular, unfortunately. LS is turning purple. And abortion will be on the ballot again as HJR 73 passed, and that will motivate D turnout, sadly.

I'm in SD 7 Patti Lewis.

My Rep (D36) is Anthony Ealy. He was not my choice. But, for a D, he's not bad. He is friendly, always shows up outside my polling place and sends out an excellent weekly email.

It's tough being a conservative in a blue district... But, not as vicious as when I lived in CA, NM and VA!

Same. But lately I don’t even always read C&C. Often the “news” just isn’t interesting enough or I’m bored after the very interesting last 2 yrs.

You can thank those who manipulated down ballot races to erase any substantial increase in winning the house and senate. That's one way to slow things down. Plus there are a lot of money-grubbing elected leaders who despise the ability of Trump to turn off war-based donations. I'm guessing the USAID tap ran very deep to water a LOT of organized conflicts both domestically and abroad.

I’m not a Dr., however I believe I could prescribe a cure for your illness. It’s only slightly painful if you don’t overexpose yourself to the procedure. It involves looking at our new Canadian government ( I suggest maybe covering one eye) for maybe 10-15 minutes. This should bring relief to your malady.
