Who among us hasn’t gone through a “really rough period”, then gotten Nazi tattoos, denigrated blacks, Jews & women, joked about rape & blamed victims, lied about his service record, gleefully gone on antisemitic podcasts?

This happens all the time, doesn’t it?

But, hey, sometimes I gotta remind myself that the folks I'm arguing with actually thought Joe Biden was sharp and in charge

Gym+Fritz's avatar

I would really like to see Joe Biden tried (in abstentia, if necessary), along with his immediate family, the White House staff, Harris, and the DNC for fraud and malfeasance because of the charade they colluded to perpetrate. Our country dodged a bullet; for about four years, our country did not have a President, at least not as intended by the Constitution.

And if some legal / constitutional scholar jumps up and claims that no laws were broken, he needs to sit down and shut up - and let the supreme court decide, ASAP.

And if it’s determined no laws were broken, then our worthless laws need to be rewritten. We, as a nation deserve better, NOW.

He fraudulently pushed the "Unsafe and ineffective" Covid injections on our children and us.

He's responsible for the deaths of millions.

And his wife has an "MD" after her name. It must stand for "Most Deceitful."

RunningLogic's avatar

If you are referring to Jill, she’s got an Ed. D. degree, she is not an MD.

PonyBoy's avatar

I looked it up RL. It's a Doctorate in Education degree. You would have thought she might have educated her intelligence challenged husband that mandating, untested, unsafe and potentially life threatening gene-therapy injections in our youth and a major portion of our work force that nothing good could come of that policy, other than to make the pharmaceutical companies rich.

It's clear to me her education didn't do anything for her ability to use "common sense."

RunningLogic's avatar

Yes Ed.D. is a doctorate in education 🙂 I know she liked to be called “Dr Jill” and many assumed she had a medical degree. She probably did that on purpose 🙄

zabs's avatar

Without a doubt.

St. Alia the Knife's avatar

On the Markley, Van Camp, and Robins radio show they referred to her derisively as "Doctor First Lady Doctor Jill Biden" because she made such a big deal out of it.

Mary Ann Caton's avatar

An ED.D is the degree people get who aren't capable of doing the hard work of earning a Ph.D.

Jimmy Gleeson's avatar

Education=indoctrination. She was ready to do anything recommended by the Department of Education, which shut down the schools and kept them shut down far far too long. But, in retrospect, I think it was a good thing because parents got to see the "teaching" that the children received piped directly into the home.

PonyBoy's avatar

My mistake RL. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

RunningLogic's avatar

No problem 😊 Even that degree was apparently very generously given if the evaluations of her doctoral dissertation are anything to go by 😆

PonyBoy's avatar

I'm afraid Doctorate degrees in this time of ours we find ourselves in, are becoming less a reflection of "real" education that one has received, and more a badge of having the financial means to obtain the extra letters that follow one's name.

Sad.

Where did u see that she had an MD? You have knowledge at ur fingerprints and u still posted that. Geez.

Eek I’m Sorry. I thought I was posting to the person who was so proud of Jill’s non-existent MD. Now I can’t find that person’s comment. Sorry again. I’ll be more careful.

If we stay mindful and kind, we can be a positive influence on the people around us. Many times this will shine a light back onto you.

There have been extensive studies done on how our attitude, appearance and personality influence others. They concluded the single most powerful force of influence each one of us have is not our personality, it’s not our looks, or our height its simply our smile. Studies show people that smile frequently get promoted more often and have higher paying jobs. People are drawn to others that are happy and smile a lot. I’ve heard it said if you’re not smiling you’re like a person with a million dollars in the bank that doesn’t have a checkbook.

We’re supposed to be happier than other people. When we honor God with our life, when we do our best each day, then God will anoint us, pouring out the oil of joy more than anyone else. You see we are supposed to smile and be happy. I’m personally a work in progress and sure that I will always be.

So I was renovating an old Victorian home in West Roxbury. There were lots of people involved in this project. Like myself, many have strong opinions how things should be done. The man that sold the owner the cabinets, Ivan, had been a bit difficult with me. I had told the owner to have the cabinet company use their installer, there was a strict completion deadline and with all the work I needed to get done I didn’t have the time to hang the cabinets, so she did.

I never know who the installer is, or how experienced they will be. A young Brazilian pair showed up, and they hung the cabinets, honestly they did a good job. Towards the completion of the cabinets Ivan showed up with coffee and donuts for the installers. I heard him praising the two young men up and down. He called the lead carpenter the best installer, and I could see the young man, a bit timid, enjoyed the praise. Ivan honored them.

The next morning first thing I called Ivan, and said you know Ivan I really wanted to compliment you on acknowledging the nice job and hard work your installers did for you. You really built those young men up and it was not only kind but I admired your appreciating them, you honored them. I told him it’s rare to see that, and I thanked him for doing it.

About a week went by and the owner stopped by the job after she got out of work. She said Ivan had said to me, “you know James paid me a beautiful compliment the other day. He was happy and thanking me for the way I praised the two cabinet installers”. He said to the owner “he’s never received such a kind compliment for honoring his workers”. He went on to say “he had come from nothing and these people that work with him have made him successful”. The owner went on to tell me she has several large projects she wants me to do for her in the fall.

Isn’t it amazing how a simple acknowledgment and a compliment can create such a positive change. It cost me nothing, I only acknowledged someone’s kindness in honoring his workers.

From the day I complimented Ivan his whole affect towards me changed. There was nothing that if I asked of him he wouldn’t do for me.

Many times we have to stay aware of the people around us. You will never get what you are not willing to give, certainly honor is one of those things. Sometimes if people are difficult to us we can’t let them have the control to affect us, we have to sometimes take control and affect them. Happy Saturday Everyone! J.Goodrich

Thank you, James, for the reminder for all of us to be an example of Christ whatever we are. A lot of the time the standoffishness isn't really being directed at us, but of donating deeper that the person may be dealing with... and we are the Light of hope they so desperately need at that time!

No. 6's avatar

Another great story, and thank you for taking the time to share it with us!

And when you say "It cost me nothing.", we know what you mean, of course...

but in truth, it cost you that most precious of gifts: your time, and not just your time itself, but your caring enough to decide to spend some of it on Ivan, and then Ivan's willingness to share his time and caring by praising these young Brazilian "best" installers!

Isn't this the best way of honoring Our Lord & Creator, by spending our caring, energy, and most especially, our time in this way?

RunningLogic's avatar

I love this!! 😍 I agree with and share your perspective James!! What a great example to illustrate it, too!

One caveat, the compliment absolutely *has* to be sincere, because people can tell the difference and the effect is not the same (I’m sure yours was, I just know that sometimes people try to overdo this and try to show off their “kindness” which everyone can totally see through and it ends up having the opposite effect).

Jeff's experience with HOA's is a lot different than mine. They are incredibly more powerful than we ever thought. In our previous house, we were told by the HOA to remove a portion of our vegetable garden that was on common (HOA controlled) land, although they expected everyone to maintain said land Ie. mow, weed, that all lakefront property owners had . The garden was why we bought the house, and had been there for 8 years before we bought it. No matter. An anonymous (my neighbor, I am sure) had complained about it. I said, many people have put some type of improvements/ gardens/ flowers on their common property. Not their problem. We boated around the lake , and in combination with drive by's, identified over 3 dozen specific examples. Now they were all their problem too.

To summarize, wife said fight it (bad move), I did, they sued, won in summary judgement, judge treating the developments' lawyer like his golfing buddy, our lawyer like Bin Laden's right hand man. Then they asked for me to pay their legal fees. Wife said No. I said are you insane. You saw what just happened. So we paid. And moved. And vowed never ever to be part of any HOA again. Fire a gun on my land, raise, pigs, let the grass grow as high as I want, cut any tree I want, pee where I want. That is where we live now.

Dana Hope's avatar

There has to be a special place in hell for HOA Karens. Glad you are now living in freedom.

Karen C. Wilkinson's avatar

Imagine having the name Hope condemning to hell people named Karen, I get it, you only meant people who act like what the world has decided is a Karen. Don’t be a Dick, Don’t be a Karen. It’s embarrassing to introduce myself, please grow up and call out the behavior not someone’s name.

dancingtime's avatar

Little solace but "Karen" is not the first slang name used to describe an entitled or demanding woman. "Becky" was popularized in the 1990s and 2000s and was used to describe a privilege or culturally unaware white woman. "Miss Ann" was used back in the Jim Crow era and antebellum period to describe a demanding or entitled white woman who expected deference. In the late 2010s it was common for the internet to assign alliterative, location-based nicknames to women caught behaving badly on camera...such as "Barbecue Becky", "Permit Patty" and "Cornerstore Caroline". And, of course, there is "Soccer Mom" which describes a middle-aged, suburban woman with a perceived sense of entitlement. I see those a lot on the road driving SUVs.

So, cheer up...."Karen" will be replaced with some other name....Hope springs forever....

SD Scott's avatar

Gretchen was a long time ago used to describe an unmarried pregnant woman.

dancingtime's avatar

I had to look that up....from Goethe's Faust....a naive pure girl is seduced by a man leading to "sin"....the girl later drowns her illegitimate child due to social pressure, guilt, and insanity, after which she is imprisoned and sentenced to death....

Social Context: The story of Gretchen echoed the harsh societal attitudes towards unmarried mothers and the criminalization of infanticide in the 18th century, where hiding a pregnancy or bearing a child out of wedlock was a major social scandal.

"Gretchenfrage": The character is so impactful that the term Gretchenfrage (Gretchen Question) is used in German to this day to mean a direct, uncomfortable question that hits the core of a person's beliefs.

SD Scott's avatar

So interesting!

rolandttg's avatar

I get it. My first (unrequited) love was named Karen.

Connie Lemmincakes's avatar

You can be a Karen without being a “Karen”.

rolandttg's avatar

Yeah. I was taking care of the lot next door (mowing) for a guy from NJ who later built. Woman next door fed the Canada geese that crapped everywhere, so she fed them on his lot instead of hers. . I asked her not to do that. Then the complaint. He later built as close to the lake as he could, taking a lot of my view. Became the development "bike path monitor ". Who knew that was a thing? NJ.

RunningLogic's avatar

Ours is super chill, only worries about egregious issues. And most people here don’t tattle on or make anonymous complaints about their neighbors either. I guess we’re lucky.

Patti's avatar

In a HOA meeting one gal didn’t like the goat heads on the side walks at the beginning of our neighborhood because her dogs are walked there 🙄 she mated the hill weeded. Paid for by HOA. The hills vegetation is clearly holding back the hill sliding 🙄 same gal the next year complained there were duck carcasses in someone driveway from hunting laying there for too long… I never saw it. Turns out the hunter was a retired judge. 😂 she is a Karen! I told her if she has a problem go to that neighbor but talking g about him at a meeting he is not attending is not neighborly! Several Karens came at me after that comment 😂

rolandttg's avatar

Laura's avatar

MaryAnn's avatar

My lawyer brother detests HOAs. He helped me when I added a screened porch that the HOA said was too close to the golf course. Turns out every condo unit bordering this fairway was built in violation of said setback. The setback was established after the units were built. Oops.

Patti's avatar

I’m not a fan of HOA’s either. Gotta go outside the area in which you live to get a lawyer so the golf buddy senecio does not happen. Especially in a good ol boy system. I live in one and it’s all back end deals and pats on back.

I donated to a lot of $25 to different campaigns in 2020. In return, I was thanked by being put on every donor list you could imagine. So I chose not to donate to anyone in 2024. I was hoping it would get me put on a different list. It did not. I will be trying this. There are a few campaigns I would like to donate to, but does anyone know a way without landing on even more donor sites?

Unwoke in Idaho's avatar

Maybe send a check to the candidate directly and don’t go through the website thing?

And maybe don’t give them your phone number or email?

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

Sending straight to the candidate is probably the best bet! TY

dancingtime's avatar

As stated above, the candidate's Treasurer has to make entries into the state campaign reporting system. The individual only needs to provide his name, address, occupation. There is no requirement or entry box (at least in the MD CRIS) for a phone or email. When making a donation, if they ask for it, which neither of the candidates for which I am Treasurer do, do not supply or simply give email addresses/ phone numbers with errors in them. Just suggesting...Leave it blank.

Many people have email addresses which are for junk mail which go automatically into the junk box. I have multiple email addresses. I also have a landline phone which has a sole purpose: calling 911 in case of emergency. I never answer it. If it rings, it goes into the fax ring after two regular rings. I give that number to people I never want to hear from.

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

Brilliant! Thank you! I am writing this information down so I can follow through. Don’t you just love how Mr. Childers seems to speak out about issues we all are experiencing?

No Masks! No Shots! No Spam! More COFFEE! ☕️

Johanna LaChance's avatar

The fax ring. Brilliant. If only I could still get a landline where I live.

Skeptical Actuary's avatar

The thing is, once you've given money through win red and made the mistake of giving them your cell phone, there isn't any way of undoing it.

CStone's avatar

My children, who are much more tech-savvy than I, said that if I ignore them, the ‘algorithms’ will signal to the bots that it is a dead end and the messages will stop. But if I block them, it signals that my number is active and the messages will continue to pour in.

So, I am trying this solution to see if it works

dancingtime's avatar

There are YT videos about how those calls work....they are computer robocalls....the recommendation is to never say a word....that what they are really looking for, beyond the obvious of having found a live number, is for voice....to replicate your voice....why I never use voice recognition for access on anything....Blocking them? You can't really block them since they are not real numbers....Verizon Wireless told me that. They are either computer generated or are overseas scammers (the country code tells you where they are from) The texts I block because I can see the actual number they are from....Phone calls from numbers I don't have in my contacts I never answer....If it is someone who legitimately needs to get hold of me, they will leave a voicemail.

As far as I know (for iPhones), there is no notification to someone that they were blocked. If their end has "show delivered" checked, their text will not show as having been delivered. However, robocall texting should not have that ability, I would think, since they are random numbers "dialed" from a computer....the only time, I believe, that a human is involved is if someone responds.

Romgrp's avatar

Also do not have your voice on auto message for phone calls. I switched to default - 🤖 answer. Your voice can be captured and used…. In a not so good way.

CStone's avatar

We were talking about texts and messenger

dancingtime's avatar

True....but it all works the same....You can ignore, if it pleases you,

Jane Tracy's avatar

I have donated this year and now am getting 10-13 texts in the evening especially. Thank you for sharing how to filter these out!!!

Lydia Lozano's avatar

Ted Cruz' is the worst.

Jacquijacq's avatar

Sorry, we in Connecticut win the prize for the two worst senators. Fake tough guy Murphy and Botoxed to the brain Blumenthal !!!!

Lydia Lozano's avatar

Sorry my comment was unclear. And I agree about your senators. Ted Cruz is great but if you ever make the mistake of communicating with him or contributing to him or any cause he supports you are never free from daily importunities. The texts never end. The texts never end. If you "stop" them they start coming from different numbers. It is vicious. As far as texts go, Ted Cruz is the worst.

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

I actually finally got off his phone list right before the 2024 election when I expressed my disdain for Senator Cruz’s comments regarding the politically hunted J6 people. Nor did he advocate for them. I told them I would never donate to Cruz again!

Lydia Lozano's avatar

So you didn't have a problem with Colin Allred? In my opinion it is all relative.

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

Absolutely I had a terrible problem with Colin Allred! I still had to vote for Cruz, but it doesn’t mean I like him. Being a therapist that also does advocacy for Texas I know people in the political arena. They have shared some of the questionable ethics of Cruz.

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

(Weird.. this was difficult to post.) Cruz is dirty too. My position is the longer you are in a government position the likely you are to be compromised. But, Cruz of course was the lesser of two evils.

nancy's avatar

I actually sent cash, I figured I wouldn't get on a list. Somehow I am on every donation list anyway.

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

I was wondering about that! 🤦‍♀️

dancingtime's avatar

Well.....I don't know about other states but I am a treasurer for two candidates in Maryland....Every donation in MD has to be entered into MD CRIS (Campaign Reporting Information System) which requires the name, address, and occupation of the donor. The system was recently changed and I noticed that there is now an "anonymous" selection for type of donor. So, presuming for arguments sake that all states run their campaign reporting systems similarly and that you didn't just stuff cash into an unmarked envelope, your information would be entered into the state system. If you did just stuff it into an unmarked envelope, it most likely went into the pocket of the person opening the envelope....

You might want to see what information about campaign donations is available to the public. I know about the MD system because I use it every day and I know that information is available to the public but I have never looked to see what is available. I do know that voting information is also available to the public. Not how one voted but whether he was registered and whether Republican, Democrat, or Independent and what his voting habits have been. I worked on someone's candidacy for state delegate and we had all of that information. Your local Board of Elections should be able to help guide you but you could also start with queries through your search engine. Remember: You get the answer to the question which you ask so make sure your questions are formulated correctly.

The settings Jeff shows either are in the most recent iOS update that I haven’t installed yet, or they are placed there by the app that he bought, because I only have the toggle to filter unknown senders. None of the other settings are there.

Under unknown senders I have a text message filter setting which lets me select between two apps I have, TruCaller and MalwareBytes - and I can only use one of them. That’s it.

I have no setting to filter spam like he has.

I have had filter unknown senders on for an eternity and STILL I get all the spam anyway. 🫤 Political and otherwise. I’ve resorted lately to harassing them back with replies. 🤣

I’m thinking the app he bought is doing most of the heavy lifting for him. Gonna check it out…

Amanda Booth Bice's avatar

I have wondered if unsubscribing was actually leaving a footprint! Thank you for the suggestion. I am going to look into it. Shameful these politicians take our names & information & sell it to others. I even have TPUSA asking for donations.

Skeptical Actuary's avatar

I just put the filter on my phone. Thanks Jeff!

dancingtime's avatar

I use SpamStrike for screening out political text messages. I never unsubscribe. My long held theory is that, when you unsubscribe, they then sell your name to 10 more sites.

I open up the sender info (the little < ) and block. The RNC has a website to get off their mailing list but I have noted that some politicians are using some other source which bypasses that. Again, I open up the sender (<) and block. I have an iPhone so I don't know if this works on a Android.

I had already done what Jeff had suggested at the beginning of the posting.

I don't know how you have done your political contributions but I don't know whether using their website to donate would keep you off a list. I have the Treasurer for two different candidates for two different local positions and neither of their websites have a link to any listing. Now, that said, I must make entries into the state campaign reporting system and all financial actions have to be reported to the state and that includes names etc. What they do with that information is unknown BUT it is open to the public. How much I do not know.

About the dems pursuit of well hidden masculinity among their members (Including the women), I just do not get the current popularity of the skid-row look. Well trimmed beards can look distinguished. OK. But, seeking to look like you are coming off of a week long bender baffles me until I factor in dem desperation.

As a longtime "Maine enjoyer," I should remind everyone that Maine is chock-full of retired leftist Massachusetts schoolteachers, many of whom divorced their husbands 10 years ago at 58 to move to Rockland with their "best friend," Susan. For inexplicable reasons, they really like Platner's he-man persona. Are there enough of them to matter? I don't know. They keep a thriving farmer's market ecosystem going in Maine, so I appreciate that!

Juju's avatar

If they don’t secure elections it won’t matter if only 10% support him, he will win by late night ballots and illegal votes.

Lori's avatar

Platner is gross. He looks like he picks his nose and camouflages the boogers in his beard.

Roberto's avatar

I don't understand how he has any appeal. He's so performative, scripted, and phony that he sets off every alarm instinct in my straight-guy-former-athlete body.

If I met Platner in a bar, I would immediately recognize him as a phony blowhard who would probably get people fighting while he snuck out the back door. A douchecanoe, in short.

Thank you for the messaging tip! I had already turned on screening for unknown senders but didn’t realize you could filter for spam. Just turned that on too. This made me so happy, feel free to do more.

Emily 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼's avatar

Here’s a tip I learned recently: if you use gmail go to your inbox and in the address bar replace the word “inbox” with the word “sub” and press your enter key on the keyboard. It will display a list of all your email subscriptions in a single list so you can easily review them and unsubscribe from the ones you no longer want to receive. Bonus tip: you can click on any you’re unsubscribing from before you unsubscribe to view / select all emails from that sender and delete them in one fell swoop. Enjoy!

Valerie's avatar

Very nice!! I’ll try that one too.

dancingtime's avatar

I never unsubscribe from anything which I never subscribed to in the first place. My long held theory is that, if I unsubscribe, my email will be sold to 10 other sites from which I do not want to hear from. I just mark them as "junk" and eventually Apple learns to deliver them straight to junk which I just screen for something accidentally in there and then delete en masse...

Emily 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼's avatar

Here’s a good tip if you receive political texts reply with “I’m only 13”

Some text senders employ humans to handle the replies and if they see that reply they will remove you from their list.

This is advice from my sister who is actually one of those employed to handle text replies!

Willing Spirit's avatar

And someone said replying with ‘Pass the Save America Act!’ Is krytonite.

Oooh I like this one!

Juju's avatar

What iOS do you have installed? I don’t have a filter spam setting 🫤

CL Shoemake's avatar

Same here, kept looking for the spam filter option. 😄. But my iPhone8 is limping along, and I am now unable to access my bank app, or my ChickFilA app, because my phone doesn’t have the capability to update to iOS 17. But a new phone is like $1000!! 😱😱😱 Better add my phone to my prayer list. 😄😊🙏

Juju's avatar

For years I bought used iPhones for my kids on eBay. They always worked fine for a few years. Only a fraction of the cost of new. My oldest son is using an iPhone 8 because he doesn’t want to lose his headphone jack. 🤣 Luckily the trade in value of my last iPhone allowed me to get the 16 adding only $5.99/mo to my bill. Worth it. But you need a good trade in.

Try eBay! I even get my Mackbook Pros that way and save a ton of money.

CL Shoemake's avatar

Thanks for that! 😊

I hear ya- my phone is the same- doesn’t take updates …😒

Jane Tracy's avatar

I have the latest version… I got a new phone in December.

Juju's avatar

I mean iOS version, not phone version. Like mine is 18.7.8. But there’s an update waiting. What’s yours?

Jane Tracy's avatar

I just hope that I didn’t make any mistakes and not get the texts I want 🙃😜🙃

HiChas's avatar

Here’s my tip. When deciding to download an app on my iPhone/iPad, I always read several of the critical reviews first and you know what? They usually say it’s too slow, doesn’t work or they charge too much or too often, etc. And, I end up not downloading or ‘needing’ them!

Did the same thing with Jeff’s suggestion for the Sifter app. Here are some: “Does not work and instructions are in Chinese.” “Doesn’t work. Still getting just as many. Waste of $3! Very dissatisfied.”“Incomprehensible instructions. Lame.”

Jane Tracy's avatar

The same as yours

Thanks for the Text Tips… I’m tempted, but the response I’ve settled on is to give them the following message, make sure it went through, then report as Spam and block… I am well aware that many such messages might emanate from Bot Farms, but I just ‘cast my bread upon the waters’, and trust God to do what only He can do.

I have saved the following under the heading, ‘Scammers Note’, but it can be applied ‘liberally’ as well:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

John 3:16-17

Your call; repent of your sins, turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, acknowledging Him as the Son of God, who died for the sins of the world, was buried, rose again on the Third Day, is currently seated at the right hand of God the Father (Yahweh), and is coming again to judge the world, asking for forgiveness and to be born again by the Holy Spirit - or, keep on doing what you're doing, and be damned to eternal separation and torment in darkness. Think it through; whatever you think is worth denying the Lord in this short life, will be gone very soon - but you will be conscious, with all eternity to contemplate your choices made here, together with the consequences.

Choose well; choose life. Because the way that seems right to you is leading you to death.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies," says the Lord God. "Therefore turn and live! —Deuteronomy 30:19,Ezekiel 18:32

Mark 8:36-37

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Am Israel Chai, to the glory of God!

LamedVav disavows all vaxes.'s avatar

Lori, some jews do know these words. They are all from the Torah. Jesus was Jewish and everything he taught came from the Torah.

Lori's avatar

I meant the New Testament verses.

Mike Perceval's avatar

Not all Jews, and certainly not all those verses, Lori…

And, for that matter, there are many professing Christians that are Biblically illiterate, ignore or misinterpret the Old Testament (Tanakh) altogether. Many others simply haven’t had time to gain understanding of the Denominational Theology in the Church they attend, as well as the Word, while also growing in the Spirit to the point where they can begin to question some of the standard teachings and perspectives.

We are in deep waters here, and it is easy to lose the contextual perspective of the entire Bible by focusing on a single portion, but the following is worthy of prayerful contemplation:

Romans 11:11-36 (NKJV)

“11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12 Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14 if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. 15 For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18 do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23 And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

“The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 for this is My covenant with them, when I take away their sins.”

28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!

34 “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” 35 “Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?”

36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”

Lori's avatar

I know these verses. So?

Mike Perceval's avatar

So, based upon what you understand, what do you think the Holy Spirit is saying through them?

Bravo for the Trump accounts! I’m very optimistic about this. I can’t wait for the grands funds to grow. I took a couple years of child support payments and invested them in mutual funds for my son beginning when he was 3 years old and when he was 21 he purchased his first home with a $36k down payment. (I suspect these new accounts will be easier to maintain and deposit into especially for us grands! And no ex’s able to reach into said accounts-that was my real battle) As a Gma it will be incredibly satisfying to invest the funds that would go towards yet another new birthday toy into their accounts. 🇺🇸👍 how wonderful for our young adults to have this same opportunity 👏👏 well done president Trump!!! And Thank you 😊 🇺🇸👍😁
