Sorry, what exactly does *that* mean? People should only marry those from their own race? How do you even define race to decide who is allowed to marry whom?
Just because something was done or not done historically doesnβt automatically justify it imo. Also can you please tell me how you define which person is from which race? What criteria do you use?
You still havenβt defined how you decide what race people are. Or who is allowed to marry whom. Who is white exactly? What skin tone equals white? Are southern Europeans who have the exact same skin tone as northern Africans white? Are northern Africans then white, by extension? How many races are there? What race are Indians exactly? If you consider them Asians, is it ok according to your rules for them to marry say, a Chinese person or a Laotian? What about those Indians whose complexions are so dark that they are as black as many Africans? Are Indians like Nikki Haleyβs family allowed to marry them? If not, why not? If so , why can they marry those kinds of people but not a dark skinned person of African origin?
Race from everything Iβve seen in my life is a mostly artificial, nebulous construct. No one can really define it or have specific, quantifiable, clear criteria to categorize people by. The reason people donβt like what they consider interracial marriage is because of the fear of *social* stigma, and that their children or extended family would be mistreated. People didnβt want their family to be marginalized and have fewer rights and opportunities or have to abide by stricter rules. All man made rules to keep some people superior and others inferior. In that way itβs much more akin to the aristocracy and intermarriage between social strata being frowned upon (aristocracy famously intermarried to their genetic detriment because they were so intent of keeping their status and power) than to homosexuality. Homosexuality is unnatural in that it prevents reproduction. And reproduction is essential to the survival of the human species. Not to mention that male homosexuality requires using the digestive tract as itβs not intended to be used. Very very different.
You may struggle with the concept of why people don't like inter-racial marriage, but it's been that way for all of time and only accepted in these liberal, modern times.
I brought it up as it's yet another controversy regarding her. Lots of twitter/reddit threads about it.
In my opinion, it should be shunned. But I'm becoming more conservative and eschewing my former liberal mindset.
I also donβt get why you bring it up as being a controversy about her. Do you really think that is a valid criticism of Haley? That she hasnβt continued an outdated and ridiculous tradition from her parentsβ home country? I thought we wanted immigrants to assimilate? I just canβt wrap my brain around the supposed logic behind all that. I have to say. BFM, I would have expected you to be more rational than that. There are plenty of valid reasons to dislike and despise Nikki Haley without bringing this nonsense into it.
I struggle with it partly because I donβt even know what it means! And apparently no one can answer my questions about where you divide that line and if there is even an agreed upon line between βraces.β I have asked you multiple, sincere questions about how to define someoneβs race and you havenβt answered any of them. You just keep telling me that people all over the world and for centuries have been against racial intermarriage. Well, then there should be some clear definitions and lines drawn to tell us what races there are and who is in which category. Is is just a judgment call based on appearance? If the person looks white but has a black parent or grandparent how do you count them? Is it someoneβs heritage? If itβs the latter, before marrying do you do a genealogy to find out if someone has other races in their background? It just seems overly complex and frankly, totally subjective. You havenβt given me any evidence to the contrary except to say that βpeople have done and thought this for ages.β Sorry I donβt buy that as an argument. People have done lots of things that are repugnant over the centuries, just because people have always done something doesnβt mean we should continue to do it. Human sacrifice was done by many cultures all over the world, arranged marriages, slavery, spousal and child abuse, lots of other bad things. If you want to convince me, you need a better argument and to be able to determine who counts as what race (how many races are there, anyway?).
Ok heβs black. So? π€·ββοΈ I was expecting a man bun or something π
She and her family are race traitors.

Race-mixed marriages have throughout time been a no-no in most societies, similar to homosexuality.
Only in modern times has this been liberalized.
Of course super woke Nikki married outside her race (a White dude), and her daughter now with a Black dude. Perfect family for the the Globalist Era.
Just because something was done or not done historically doesnβt automatically justify it imo. Also can you please tell me how you define which person is from which race? What criteria do you use?
It's like homosexuality, most of the world finds it abhorrent.
As they do inter-racial marriage. Especially in her home country of India (her parents are from there).
