I'm alone, yet still thankful for so many blessings. My sister's husband is in a stable recovery mode from prostate cancer that went to his kidneys. He is visiting his large extended family in AL, while my sister stays in TX with her kids. His family includes attorneys and FBI agents of all things.

I'm preparing for a major snowstorm here in Illinois that is supposed to hit Friday night into Saturday. Getting the birdseed and winter gear ready.

The story of the Pilgrims should be mandatory reading for every generation. Thanks Jeff.

Why is Sprouts the axis of evil?

Expand full comment
laura-ann Knox's avatar

Well, it's ONE of the axes of evil. They were uber-compliant with the illegal masking mandates, and I was even assaulted by one of their employees because I was in there without a mask. I didn't buy anything on that trip, just walked around touching everything and putting stuff in my cart. Unfortunately, they're right across the street from my work, so if I need a healthy lunch, some fruit, I do go in now. Maybe once every couple of months.

AJoy's avatar

Oh yeah I remember, it was all so f—ked up! But every single store I went into was the same way; ShopRite, CVS, Stop n Shop, Kohls, Walgreens, Target, Lidl, Aldi, and even one restaurant near me wanted to see Jab passports. It was a disgusting time for sure and I hope these companies have since woken up but I doubt it. I was accosted too in Lidl by a customer for not wearing one and I told her to MYOB, I wasn’t even near her. She screamed at the poor cashier to call management as well. This is why I prefer being around cats lol ;)

Trader Joe's was the worst in my area, with making people stand outside in a line (yes, in Phoenix's summertime heat) so they wouldn't have "too many people" in the store at any one time - counted & enforced - i.e. you had to wait until one left before one could go in!

I decided that if that's what they cared about, I'd proactively stay away... and haven't gone back since especially when a nice Whole Foods is just a few stores away (nice in that, while often overpriced, not always, and they do carry brands/stuff no one else does).

Expand full comment
AJoy's avatar

Yep lots of ridiculous nonsensical “rules” being enforced during that time. It truly was unbelievable :/

TJ also had the "cart of shame". If THEY determined that you could not medically wear a cut-up Tshirt over your face, you were given the "special" cart with signs all over it WARNING others about you. Truth.

I was almost thrown out of a Ross Dress For Less because I wasn't wearing a mask in a county that was in the "green zone." Employee followed me around and kept yammering about "masking up" so I left a cart full of merchandise there for him to put back. Fools.

Experienced the same thing with Trader F’ng Joes in San Diego. They were like the Gestapo. Only went one time during the fake pandemic, and really have not been back again. They showed their true stripes, and they were not red-white-blue. Done with those companies.

That luckily didn't happen in the Sprouts near me, though some of their customers are STILL wearing masks (maybe 2% but in this city that's ridiculously high).

The only place I was blocked out of getting into was my credit union. This was after they accommodated me two times previous with much trouble. The final time I was blocked out, I was trying to get an atm card, so I could bank without having to enter. I left them a scathing review. They responded by posting a sign at their locations asking people to comply and not make trouble. My chase bank never had trouble with the unmasked, though I have since closed that account because they are part of the axis of evil. lol

I had a similar experience with our local Menard's home store here in Minnesnowta. No mask?-- told to leave by the assistant manager of the day and did not return for years(April, 2021). I now give almost all my business to Home Depot.

laura-ann Knox's avatar

I'm just being overly dramatic, which I do for fun. The REAL axis of evil is a "natural food store"called Mother's Market, up in Orange County. They actually LOCKED A NUMBER OF PATRONS inside the store and called the cops because the shoppers were not wearing masks. What a cluster fuck

Expand full comment
Truth Seeker's avatar

Stupidity is just as you mention. It was the same Nazi behavior at the "health" food stores here. That means that people vending health food know precious little about health.

Now it is crystal clear that Covidiocy was just that. It was also a test that many failed. The "virus" fraud is now being outed by renegade MD's for the fraud it has always been.

THE VIRUS BOGEYMAN, DOES NOT EXIST!!!!!!!!!!

STUPID PEOPLE DO EXIST.

Expand full comment
Richard A.'s avatar

Those locked up patrons should have sued the store for everything it was worth. I hope they did. At least get the person(s) fired who decided it was acceptable to lock law abiding folks up in a store for political reasons. I don't believe that a single law was passed to make masks mandatory. So, so stupid!

Instead of environmental ism, global warming and "gender studies" (which cannot distinguish female from male and decide men belong in women's sports) classes in marketing, public relations, and propaganda need to be taught on a pass or fail process. These subjects would be taught in the context of SEEING THROUGH THEM. These "covidians" are the same IMO people who were told that the Jews betrayed Germany, were full of disease and needed a "final solution". And when a government tells its citizens to NOT do "your own research", and that "vaccines" (they are NOT vaccines!) are to protect OTHER PEOPLE, then people need to realize that they are being LIED TO.

These people also should have known that the CONSTITUTION takes precedence over laws limiting freedom of speech, association, locking people in their homes without due process (or even a law being passed) and so on. There should have been a uproar immediately, even though the MSM wouldn't have reported it.

I'm also upset that anybody at all listens to the MSM anymore. I'm convinced that the CIA or USAID (or a descendent) is supporting them (or a globalist NGO)

What about 2011? My kids were in HS and we were hosting Chinese students as was a neighbor. Our kids' HS did an annual exchange where kids came here for 2 weeks then some of our students went there for 2 weeks. Got about a foot of snow (which is weather Armageddon in KC) and everything was closed for 3 days. Despite being from Xi'an, which gets snow, these kids had never been sledding, made a snowman, snow fort or had a snowball fight. They lived in apartments. And despite it being January/early February, we made Christmas cookies and decorated them as they had never done that before either. Turns out being snowed in for 3 days was the best thing ever. Kids had a blast and we got creative. Oh and we shot off some leftover fireworks from 4th of July to celebrate Chinese New Year. Sure some of our neighbors thought we'd lost it.

I lived in Green Bay, WI for 55 years before moving to Kansas City. Nothing stops people from continuing their usual activities even if there’s a foot of snow overnight. The roads are sanded or salted, plowed continually and life goes on. Neighbors actually help each other shovel or get their car out if it gets stuck.

Kansas City on the other hand is completely ill-equipped for any winter precipitation. It often starts with freezing rain that turns to ice more than snow on the roads but people drive like maniacs or as if the roads were normal and therefore, you see multiple accidents, cars in ditches etc every time there’s any snow. I just stay home because it’s too dangerous to venture out in KC. It would help if the local govts would prepare before a storm hits. But they don’t. Be safe everyone regardless of where you live!

Drug companies are, apparently, a permanent part of Thanksgiving Day media dogma...a premeditated hijacking, I'm sure. I've seen no less than 6 ads in the last 20 minutes. (mostly pushing those super effective anti-depressants that, oddly, heighten suicidal thoughts. That ought to clear up those pesky bouts with depression). Is there no shame? The Macy's parade has turned into a bit of a mixed bag of the effeminate and the other-worldly....a most uncomfortable and uneasy experience. I tried to appease my daughter, but I couldn't continue. A good day on the docket, nevertheless.🦃 My turkey is half-stuffed. (See what I did there?)

I pray for the day our country's 'legislators' outlaw PHARMCEUTICAL ADS - most doctors despise them!! I know I do!! When you listen to the commentator speed read the "side effects" of these monstrosities...you wonder why ANYONE would partake of them--lemmings.....most humans! Did you know there are only TWO COUNTRIES in the entire WORLD that permit pharma to advertise on mass media--NEW ZEALAND and the "good ole U. S. OF A!!!

But Sharon, if they take the ads away how will we ever know when we're sick?

We're all 'sick' in our souls - and physical ailments go with the territory. I go "natural" and consider what I eat to be my 'medicine' most times. Going to the 'medical experts' now leaves me totally 'cold to my soul'!!!

I haven't been to regular medical doctor for over 15 years. I'm 70, and my trust is and will always be in the Lord, the great physician. I mean, yes, dealing with glaucoma and recent thyroid issues, I go to very excellent specialists in these fields. When I was 54, after my first, last, and only preparation for colonoscopy, I vowed I'd never do that again, and I have not. The Lord said, "just trust me, not the modern medical world." And I do.

I "was" doing "annual check ups" for most of my adult life - but that CEASED when the SCAMdemic hit the world! I rethought my focus and felt that whatever years the Lord Jesus Christ gives to me - will be spent ENJOYING life to the fullest and seeking 'natural medicaments and treatments' for the ailments that afflict us as we "age gracefully". I am now 79 years young and the ailment that is afflicting my 'bod' now is arthritis - especially in the knees. I am trying natural, topical and also supplements (Omega XL gel caps - just started them this week) plus I 'found' a joint brace that massages and applies heat as well for temporary relief. I bought it on Amazon for a bit over $36....will let you all know if it 'delivers true relief'.

JEHOVAH JIREH!!

Try DMSO. You can read all about it at substack "A Midwestern Doctor". I use it topically and it resolved my trick knee. It can be ingested and is a quick relief to stroke symptoms.

It used to be popular back in the 70's despites big Pharma's efforts to get it banned and has recently made a resurgence. Books have been written about its use. I have Amandha Vollmer's book "Healing with DMSO" which is an excellent guide.

Sharon, you might try DMSO for your knee. May need to be diluted for skin contact. You can find some wonderful uses for it at A Midwestern Dr here on Substack.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

I think the reason we now have pharmaceutical commercials (I can remember when they were taboo) is a Supreme Court decision. But I could be wrong.

Anyway--Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Daw, I used to watch the Macy's parade when I was a kid-- haven't seen a bit of it since I got married over a decade ago; the cultural trends even then were getting to be very family-UNfriendly.

Yep. Had to cut that parade stuff off about 20 years ago. 1/2 time Super Bowl shows met the same fate. Not kid friendly.

I dislike the MDP. Too "fake", with all the lip-syncing! Even the Seasme Street characters were lip-syncing! I knew right away!
