In SC you can register to vote when you get your driver's license, but the SC Election Commission checks applicants through the Department of Homeland Security to see if they are US citizens. NJ must have "forgotten" that step!
These mandates to "register them to vote when they get their licenses" were often across-the-board for ALL state agencies, aping what Joepanzee did at the federal level. Came in for a fishing license? Leave with voter registration to boot.

Many illegals in California never re-register the cars they purchase. This means when the vehicle is abandoned after an accident, or involved in a crime, the police have no current address for the criminals! It also puts the responsibility of contacting the DMV to take your name off the registration or you will be liable for accidents, despite having sold the vehicle.

I predict we’ll see ‘Save Act’ laws that will differ State by State, similar to abortion laws, moving forward. Some States will require ID’s to vote, others won’t. This will be the way if SAVE is unable to be passed on national level. Peeling off a blue state here and there to require ID to vote will turn elections. It’s a journey to tear down Motor Voter laws. This, along with open borders, polluted our electoral system, IMO.
Washington State was an early adopter of all these things. We haven't had a secure election in over twenty years. By now, especially with conservatives leaving in droves, the margin to "stop the steal" is most likely insurmountable. Very unfortunate because it is such a naturally beautiful state.

This whole issue angers me. My state issued Oregon ID expired. I have not moved so my info is still accurate and current. Yet when I tried to get a replacement ID through the online portal they refused. Maybe if I was an illegal alien it would have been approved, maybe even expedited? What the hell?!?!

Why are they here long enough to need a license? That is the first question. When I visit France and rent a car, I don't need to take the French driving test! However, if I overstayed my visit and decided to live in France, I would have to do so legally and still would not be able to participate in their elections, because I am not French. Nor am I a citizen of their country! A work Visa, a Green card, and a drivers license does not equal Citizenship and the privilege of voting! So if you're an illegal and during a traffic stop you present a license from, say, NJ, you'll be smacked with a criminal misdemeanor punishable as follows:
First conviction: Second-degree misdemeanor — up to 60 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $500 (plus court costs).
Second conviction: First-degree misdemeanor — up to 1 year in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.
Third or subsequent conviction: First-degree misdemeanor with a mandatory minimum of 10 days in jail (no judicial discretion to waive it), up to 1 year total, and up to $1,000 fine.
And of course, since we have 287(g) Agreements with our state and local law enforcement, the driver and any illegal passengers are likely to be detained and deported.
We have a DSA Councilmember who won by 400 votes. (All of those votes were counted after Election Day because I live in CA.) It absolutely does make a difference. Also, four years ago (or more), the LA Times published an article about how CA is struggling with having enough jurors and that 2.5 million people on the juror roles said they couldn’t be a juror because they _weren’t citizens_. Quick question: where does our juror lists come from? Voter registration. CA DMV does the same thing as NJ. So.

Juror lists in California come from the DMV, State Franchise Tax board and Voter registration lists. There are around 3 million Green Card holders legally living in California so it is quite likely that the majority of the 2.5 million people who say they can’t vote because they are not citizens are legal permanent residents who pay taxes or have a driver’s license.
As you know, Green Card holder ≠ citizen. And, having been to the DMV recently, I have seen how easy it is to sign up to vote. There is zero requiremtn for proof of citizenship when applying for a driver’s license.
Trump and his address are vindicated. New Jersey governor Mikie Sherill admits over 6600 illegals were registered to vote and nearly 400 actually voted in the 2024 presidential election. First off I believe the numbers are skewed drastically lower than the real numbers, but this means 400 U.S. citizens votes were nullified, one vote is too many. In a state like New Jersey which has become purple every vote matters!
In other states like New York, which refuses to hand over their voter roles, where we know illegals are voting, we should question the election of officials like Mamdani, shouldn’t we? Tax money going to the election system in states, red, blue or otherwise, should be stopped immediately. Then let states ask the people for more taxes to run the election machine via ballot measure. The examples Jeff gave about the slim margins of victory in elections is interesting... and nothing new. For 250 years (with the exception of the middle 1800s and that is a whole nuther story that has nothing to do with slavery), Americans of various parties have fought to win elections which control the seats of government power and more often than not, these elections are decided by razor thin margins. Yet when the results are in, everyone accepts the results and goes about peacefully co-existing as mutually respected American citizens. Why? Because everyone, as Americans, are part of the same American ethos that holds us together regardless of our disagreements. This ethos was plainly stated in the Declaration of Independence. We are all family AS AMERICANS under God, ruled by His Law and Spirit.
When Trump says the republic is being stolen from us, he is mistaken (and I think he knows it). The communist subversives (the Dem party) and the invaders (illegal aliens) are not stealing the republic for themselves. They are destroying it. This is profoundly different. Let's be realistic, 6600/400 are as you say, most likely a vastly under reported true number. NJ, as of 2024, had an estimated 'immigrant' population of about 2.4 million...or 25% of NJ's total population.
That was in 2024. That number most certainly significantly underestimates illegal aliens (I refuse to call them immigrants) that were registered/voted. It also doesn't account for fraudulent green-card recipients who voted.
The DOJ is saying at least 35k illegal aliens were (illegally) registered to vote. Unknown how many voted on their own. Or, how many became 'voters', unbeknown to the illegal.

Don't confuse groups when reading news/articles. Only citizens are allowed to vote. Non-citizens who are green-card residents or work/student visa-holders are legally in the country. Persons legally in the country for a prolonged time have a legitimate need for a drivers license. Liberals will argue, even illegals need transportation to seek work or medical care, so they can provide for their families.

In Canada you have to EXCHANGE your previous driving licence (Candian or international) for one from the province that you are now residing in... no giving out of licences at electronic kiosks! 🤔🇨🇦
Honest question: would it though? I have only heard about verifying citizenship for *new* voter registrations. So if you move to a new state, or were never previously registered to vote, you’d have to show proof of citizenship, but would anyone *already* registered to vote have to prove citizenship under the SAVE Act?
This I believe is the point of states showing their voter rolls to the federal government: to verify legitimacy of citizenship, is it even a real person, accurate name, no duplicates, address that is a real & accurate residence, etc.
If you move even to a different district within a state, you need to change it, unless you go back to that district to vote. So any move into another state requires a new registration in that state.
Any update to a registration should, IMO, require a verification of information ie citizenship.

International students (technically not illegal but English is not their first language and they are temporary visitors to the US), can get a drivers license with their student visa. Note: they are terrible drivers. Most have not driven a vehicle in their home country but they learn enough to pass the tests. Additionally, if they are offered employment on campus as a TA, lab assistant, etc. they get a SS #. They have a local address. What is to stop them from voting?
As employees of the university, they are required to pay income tax. There may be other auto-deductions. Anyway, the SS# is used to make sure the taxes are paid.
The actual SS card says "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION" but how often is the card checked?
SD Scott, how it happened here in VT, a group called Migrant Action advocated to help those migrants that were doing the work on our farms and in the dairy industry that US citizens didn't want to be able to get licenses to drive. They needed to get from place to place and in this State you need a car. I don't think voting is an issue in VT, with a population of around 600,000. What I'm not certain about is whether many are here temporarily or year round residents. My local farmer tried to get locals to help on his farm but ultimately hires 4 guys from Jamaica who work really hard during the growing season, then go back to Jamaica. He pays them fairly.

In SC you can register to vote when you get your driver's license, but the SC Election Commission checks applicants through the Department of Homeland Security to see if they are US citizens. NJ must have "forgotten" that step!

Many illegals in California never re-register the cars they purchase. This means when the vehicle is abandoned after an accident, or involved in a crime, the police have no current address for the criminals! It also puts the responsibility of contacting the DMV to take your name off the registration or you will be liable for accidents, despite having sold the vehicle.
California's caring politicians always try to sell the upside to allowing illegal aliens privileges reserved for legal citizens and those on worker Visas. They cite the "safety" argument. Why are they here long enough to need a license? That is the first question. When I visit France and rent a car, I don't need to take the French driving test! However, if I overstayed my visit and decided to live in France, I would have to do so legally and still would not be able to participate in their elections, because I am not French. Nor am I a citizen of their country! A work Visa, a Green card, and a drivers license does not equal Citizenship and the privilege of voting! Juror lists in California come from the DMV, State Franchise Tax board and Voter registration lists. There are around 3 million Green Card holders legally living in California so it is quite likely that the majority of the 2.5 million people who say they can’t vote because they are not citizens are legal permanent residents who pay taxes or have a driver’s license.
As you know, Green Card holder ≠ citizen. And, having been to the DMV recently, I have seen how easy it is to sign up to vote. There is zero requiremtn for proof of citizenship when applying for a driver’s license.

First off I believe the numbers are skewed drastically lower than the real numbers, but this means 400 U.S. citizens votes were nullified, one vote is too many. In a state like New Jersey which has become purple every vote matters!
In other states like New York, which refuses to hand over their voter roles, where we know illegals are voting, we should question the election of officials like Mamdani, shouldn’t we? Or in Minnesota where congress woman Ilhan Omar was swept into office by illegal Somalians voting. This has massive implications, like for instance, with the Save Act. When we have illegal aliens voting in our elections it turns into the corruption of our legislion being implemented and in this case legislation being killed in congress. This is all the result of dirty elections that Americans are now being forced to live under. This is a big part of the take over of America.

Tax money going to the election system in states, red, blue or otherwise, should be stopped immediately. Then let states ask the people for more taxes to run the election machine via ballot measure. The examples Jeff gave about the slim margins of victory in elections is interesting... and nothing new. For 250 years (with the exception of the middle 1800s and that is a whole nuther story that has nothing to do with slavery), Americans of various parties have fought to win elections which control the seats of government power and more often than not, these elections are decided by razor thin margins. Yet when the results are in, everyone accepts the results and goes about peacefully co-existing as mutually respected American citizens. Why? We are all family AS AMERICANS under God, ruled by His Law and Spirit.

Persons legally in the country for a prolonged time have a legitimate need for a drivers license. Honest question: would it though? I have only heard about verifying citizenship for *new* voter registrations. So if you move to a new state, or were never previously registered to vote, you’d have to show proof of citizenship, but would anyone *already* registered to vote have to prove citizenship under the SAVE Act?
This I believe is the point of states showing their voter rolls to the federal government: to verify legitimacy of citizenship, is it even a real person, accurate name, no duplicates, address that is a real & accurate residence, etc.

If you move even to a different district within a state, you need to change it, unless you go back to that district to vote. So any move into another state requires a new registration in that state.
Any update to a registration should, IMO, require a verification of information ie citizenship.

International students (technically not illegal but English is not their first language and they are temporary visitors to the US), can get a drivers license with their student visa. Note: they are terrible drivers. Most have not driven a vehicle in their home country but they learn enough to pass the tests. Additionally, if they are offered employment on campus as a TA, lab assistant, etc. they get a SS #. They have a local address. What is to stop them from voting?

As employees of the university, they are required to pay income tax. There may be other auto-deductions. Anyway, the SS# is used to make sure the taxes are paid.

SD Scott, how it happened here in VT, a group called Migrant Action advocated to help those migrants that were doing the work on our farms and in the dairy industry that US citizens didn't want to be able to get licenses to drive. They needed to get from place to place and in this State you need a car. I don't think voting is an issue in VT, with a population of around 600,000. What I'm not certain about is whether many are here temporarily or year round residents. My local farmer tried to get locals to help on his farm but ultimately hires 4 guys from Jamaica who work really hard during the growing season, then go back to Jamaica. He pays them fairly.
