Thank you Jeff for reminding us how much good has come from this Administration & here’s to hoping tomorrow night’s speech is a banger!

Mark1's avatar

Jeff didn’t mention that Trump brought down the price of eggs! That was a big deal two years ago, but now forgotten.

Alison Smith's avatar

$2.77 for 18 eggs here!!

JBell's avatar

I just paid $1.47 for a dozen Jumbo eggs!

Mystic William's avatar

$5.75 US here in Canada all across BC. (Pushing $8 Can).

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

Bless your heart! You need some hens. I got 4 and they’re mostly terrific. Hennifer Anniston has to sleep in the shower at night which is hilarious because we don’t have that kind of house, looking at it, but otherwise, the whole thing has been fun. They’re marvelous leftover-eaters.

Mystic William's avatar

Good suggestion. My condo association might object. I will run it past them.

Patty's avatar

I raise my own eggs, organic feed and free ranged. Mine probably still cost me $5 a dozen, even with my free labor. It comes with a lot of entertainment and garden fertilizer though, so totally worth it.

Mark1's avatar

Probably never going back to the 5 years ago price, but $2.00 for 18 is pretty common here in western CO.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Here in AZ too. Everyone should remember the extreme egg prices were created by brandon and his autopen admin when they unnecessarily killed millions of chickens over hyped up bird flu. Hmmm, just liked they killed millions of us with the pLandemic... but people have short memories. ALL OF THE HIGH PRICES BELONG TO BRANDON/AUTOPEN from things like this and massive unnecessary inflationary spending.

DDForTruth's avatar

Same in Canada. Remember the Ostriches? Ya, that got blasted everywhere which opened everyone's eyes to the CFIA murdering gazillions of chickens, turkeys, ducks, cattle, pigs and everything else not BUGS or CLONED MEAT!

Assholes.

Mark1's avatar

Ostrichs. Old People. What’s the difference? What the hell has happened to Canada?

KC & the Sunshine's avatar

I do remember the ostrich story. So heartbreaking. I was angry for weeks over it.

Copied and printed this list, too. Thanks!

Beckadee's avatar

Biden covers that in chapter 20 of Promise Me America! LOL

DQ's avatar

Ha! Some stores here in Newsoms CA eggs are still $8.99 a dozen with a “pretty box”.

RunningLogic's avatar

They can go from about 2 dollars (could even be less but I don’t buy the cheapest eggs so don’t pay as much attention to those prices) to about 12 here depending on if they’re conventional, organic, free range, heritage breeds or whatever.

pretty-red, old guy's avatar

Heck, you may as will be in Canada!

CStone's avatar

Canada can have Southern California. Heck. North Korea can have ‘em.

Beckadee's avatar

biodegradable pretty box of course

RevMikeyMac's avatar

Eggs were recently on sale here (NW Iowa) for something like 67 CENTS/dz.!!!

We get most of our eggs from a local farmer (yes, REAL, farm fresh eggs), so we've been doubly fortunate not to pay high prices for a lesser product.

Gas is $4 where I live. It was $3. This is somehow a win? Upside down universe

Mark1's avatar

Johnny, I realize I’m wasting electrons with you, but I’m dragging my feet before starting an unpleasant project, so here goes: Do you have children? Probably not, but many, many others do, and all around the world. And parents care deeply about the future for their kids. At the top of that list of “future destroyers” is (or damn well should be) a nuclear armed Iran. I won’t debate whether or not “they have a right”. That’s BS. They have shown for 50 years what they stand for and what they’re willing to do. Taking Iran down is an unpleasant task that has been pushed off from administration to administration for far too long. A nuclear war in the Middle East was a distinct possibility, even likely, if those fanatics were allowed to continue. They don’t see things the way Westerners do. So Johnny, put your having to pay an extra dollar or so for a gallon of gas, and for a limited time, into the context of a safer future for the world’s children and try to understand why I can’t find a small enough violin for you.

Johnny-O's avatar

Sorry to break the bad news, but the war is far more complicated than slightly elevated gas prices, which have been held in check by selling our precious reserves to critical levels to stablize the global market - not our own markets. Gas is about to get much more expensive, as is everything else that depends on diesel, which is just about everything. So much winning.

Now, can we talk about the fertilizer shortages, helium shortages, and other things coming down the line. If you are so concerned about children, you may want to stop the oncoming famine.

Janine Melnitz's avatar

There is also the China factor. The Chinese economy has been releasing their oil reserves and has had a net decrease in consumption because their economy is not doing so great. Why would China do this??? They really cant afford high gas prices. These manipulations can only go on for so long. Now that diesel is exploded, the sh*t is really going to hit the fan. Did i vote for Trump? yes. Am i glad he beat Harris? yes but he has lost his marbles with this Iran conflict. The Isreal fist attitude of both sides of the aisle and Trump breaking his campaign promises is what is going to be a loss in the midterms. I hope I am wrong but we will see.

David A's avatar

Very important post Jeff C. Two thoughts, the resistance to Trump has been incredible! And I mean on every issue you brought up. Oh, and reforming the EPA is an added bonus.

Really good point, this wasn’t all accomplished within a typical, functioning government - which would still be amazing. But it was done literally against all odds and with every bit of lawfare humanly possible thrown at him. Sure we can cheer the winner of a marathon, but how much more amazing is his win when we see the track was doused with mud, alligators, and they threw straps around his shoulders to pull him back?

The resistance to Trump is because cabal that's been running things since 1963 has a LOT to lose! We're talking money and power! So much money...

You'd need to dig up what DOGE was reporting in the early days to see how much money, the cabal controls 98% of the press so it's not publized.

Leskunque Lepew's avatar

Coup of November 1963?

Rob's avatar

1960 Eisenhower warned the American people about the military industrial complex. JFK refused to invade Cuba after Castro took over, JFK refused to commit US air to the Bay of Pigs invasion and he had people looking at VietNam to see if it wasn't really a civil war.

JFK was murdered in 1963 and a businessman/politician replaced him, less than a year later we are deep in Viet Nam, the dollars were flowing...

re: "At worst, it’s an organized demoralization campaign."

Its a PSYOP campaign which has been going on for sometime now. The effort to convince us nothing good is happening and we shouldn't show up. Many of us have seen it here in the comments section. And Jeff just gave us a full magazine of Tomahawk missiles to respond with. Thanks Jeff, I will launch liberally (NPI). Oh, Whitehouse.gov also posts a similar list of accomplishments by our great President and his team. Ignore the PSYOP, support our President and make that worthless rino Thune and his rotten corrupt set of uniparty senators do their damned jobs. Get rid of bullshit silent filibuster and pass SAVE AMERICA ACT.

ValerieKay's avatar

Thune definitely needs to go.

mspring's avatar

Right after McConnell! Maybe he can wheel him out!

Long Enough?'s avatar

If it were only that simple. Don’t forget, back in 2025 Rick Scott was the first nominee and that failed. Then John Cornyn. Thank heavens that failed! So Thune was the comprise who is obviously compromised. I’m sure he made all kinds of backroom deals with the dems to get their vote. No republican with a backbone will receive a dem’s vote or a RINOS for that matter. We’re in a never ending stalemate until we get a 60 seat majority or the dems (communists) take over, remove the filibuster and end the country as we know it.

I am amazed that Rumble is allowing Rogan's interview of Rupert Lowe to stream. He is describing his efforts to save Britain, illegals and his efforts to restore the culture. They are living with the path we had been on and are further down that road. The UK has an "institution of voting by post" (mail). That same corruption is there too. He states that mail in voting is the only thing keeping Labour Party in office (sound familiar?) and it must change. It's a good listen, and watching Rogan march right by inches in real time as he hears what's really going on is fun.

the real question that is never asked - do you really think democrats would do better; ie, will they start mass deportations - what a laugh

I agree. The Democrats are only concerned with power, but the Democrats in Congress just want to get rich. We need term limits.

SD Scott's avatar

Clean elections would flush quite a few of them, even before reaching said limits - which they obviously realize.

There is going to be a big flush of new R blood in the Senate next year. And I hope very much, Trump-aligned. There are 10 Senate Republicans guaranteed to leave the Senate before any votes are cast in November due to death, illness or age-retirement.

Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,

“I will dwell in them and walk among them;

And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Therefore, come out from their midst and be separate,” says the Lord.

And do not touch what is unclean;

And I will welcome you.

And I will be a father to you,

And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,”

Says the Lord Almighty.

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Here’s a poem I wrote some years ago regarding DST:

Daylight Savings Time

I feel like something is missing

What could it possibly be

Oh, it’s that hour of sleeping time

Someone stole from me

So please return it right away

I need it desperately

Because I can’t wait for half a year

To make up for yesterday.

— Janice Powell

Justin's avatar

This effort to switch to DST only is brought to you by Microsoft, where many of their customers still cling to Windows 10 (or Win 7 like me) and who will not get a patch for stopping time changes. So this will incentivize upgrades just to get that fixed, should it pass.

Since you specify your time zone, it's not always easy to disable the switching of time shifts.

At least they're not trying to compromise and keep it 1/2 hour off and messing with the rest of the world.

AAron's avatar

No thanks!

NAS95 is a corrupted version... just saying!

Juju's avatar

Well then look the same verse up in your preferred version and give thanks.

Joanie Higgs's avatar

I for one would much rather keep the extra daylight in the morning, where it belongs.

Also better for farmers, school kids, landscapers, and I'm sure many, many others.

Kennedy's avatar

I agree, but at this point I’ll settle for whatever just so we don’t have to move the clocks back and forth twice a year!

Aloha50's avatar

Permanent daylight savings time was tried from 1974 to 1975. It was so universally hated that the current system was adopted to replace it. Permanent standard time is the way

LogicFirst's avatar

🤞🏻🤞🏻Say it louder for the people who don’t pay attention to history or how our bodies work. STANDARD time is the only way that this will work. Oh yeah…and we already have states who have chosen that route.

NoreenL's avatar

Yes I wanted standard time too. I want more sun in the morning

MonkeyAround's avatar

More sun in the afternoon -

It doesn't take Sherlock's avatar

More time to monkey around. ;-)

Jennifer's avatar

Whether someone likes it or not will depend on where you live in a time zone and whether you are a morning person or a night person. As a teacher, I don't care what they pick, just make it happen permanently. The switching is awful and unhealthy.

PamelaZelie's avatar

Not this person! I agree with Jeff, 100%. I’d prefer permanent DST to switching back and forth! I despise the change of clocks that upset sleep and mood. Depression sets in when we see darkness approaching at 4 pm in the evenings. And on the east coast, when my children were in school, they’d be getting off the school bus, late afternoon around 4pm, as darkness set in.

Joanie Higgs's avatar

Which is worse, coming home as darkness falls, or being woken up when it's still dark? Kids need their proper sleep without being yanked from their warm beds in winter.

Jeff said that a poll found a slight majority prefer DST, and said "they are wrong"... but like me, he's happy to see the time not change every spring and fall, but he does not prefer DST himself.

Bryn Cannon's avatar

Schools can always start later.

Richard Whitney's avatar

Indeed. Easy fix.

Won't someone please think about the children!

Mrs. RW

Oregon Kathy's avatar

They actually did think of the children when DS time began, that was one of the key considerations, children, waiting for the bus in the dark. That was back when children were not all driven to school.

Bryn Cannon's avatar

If this law passes and enough parents are worried, they will.

In Seattle where I raised my kids, voters actually voted to stay on DST, but it was never implemented - because “kids would be standing at the bus stop in the dark”. The next day I drove past a bus stop in the daylight and saw about 8 kids and six parents (on their cell phones, of course) standing there. 🙄

Juju's avatar

I agree. Since the beginning we kept time with the sun and its position. Our sundials show the correct time represented in nature. It seems weird if our clocks aren’t going to match the sundials. I prefer the switching to DST to be accommodating to our farmers for their season. But if it has to stop I prefer we stick to standard time and not mess with it anymore one way or another.

You don’t have to like that it gets darker in the evening for a period of weeks, but it just is what it is based on where our country sits. You learn to live accordingly.

I’d feel better if our time was just in sync with nature rather than force something different on everybody.

Dan (100% All in MAGA)'s avatar

Im way more interested in all the amendments which are or will be added to the "bipartisan" bill and which will likely cost us billions.

Steenroid's avatar

Now that farmers have electricity and headlights on tractors daylight doesn’t really come into play.

Joanie Higgs's avatar

Natural light is always preferable for work especially in the great outdoors.

wily_coyote-genius's avatar

AMEN to that! Heck, if you watched Clarkson's farm, he has an unmanned robotractor that goes all night.

G Harkness's avatar

I definitely would prefer that morning light too (reaches for full spectrum light in anticipation of losing this argument)... I noticed NO ONE that I've seen has mentioned even a hint about SAD. Seasonal Affective Disorder is already bad enough in winter, but then to put off sunlight for an additional hour - permanently - is an awful idea.

But you know what? I think we are on the losing end of this fight and I'd rather have either one as a permanent fixture than to be jumping back and forth forever. But I do think keeping standard time forever is the better way to go.

Richard Whitney's avatar

The light is the same no matter what the clock says.

Mrs. RW

G Harkness's avatar

Talk about missing the point! It's WHAT THE CLOCK SAYS that is the entire point of the bill.

Melissa S's avatar

It really doesn't bother me either way. My body easily adjusts. But for all those I know whom it does impact, I am on side of quitting the changes twice a year.

mspring's avatar

If we didn't know we could change the time numbers, whatever "time" the sun comes up and goes down would be "just the way it is". We should look at it that way. We are in the west side of eastern time zone, so naturally get longer evenings, but fundamentally we will get used to anything, it's only an hour anyway!

Sue Rosenthal's avatar

💯AGREE! I have to say I hope it doesn't pass in the senate. Unlike Jeff, I would rather put up with changing clocks twice a year than have to do a whole year of daylight savings. "Standard Time is considered to be more in sync with natural light cycles, promoting better health and well-being" - AI. What it really comes down to, I think, is the morning people versus the night owls. If you took a poIl, I bet you a dollar that the people that want the Daylight Savings are all night owls, and the people that prefer standard time are all morning people. "Morning people tend to live longer and healthier lives compared to night owls, as studies have linked being a night owl to increased risks of depression, obesity, and other health issues" - also AI. So.

mspring's avatar

So you are saying that having the current change twice each year is better than the imperfect no change, but number 1 hr ahead?

Sue Rosenthal's avatar

Yes, because I would rather have perfect for 6 months than imperfect for all 12 months. 😂

Sherrylyn Young's avatar

Yes, Joanie---Arizona does NOT go on Daylight Savings Time! Here in the desert, where daytime temperatures routinely reach 105 degrees in the summer, the LAST thing we need is another hour of daylight! I also don't like the hour of more darkness in the morning. So since Arizona does not switch, Arizonans have been blessed with not having to adjust back and forth. I recommend it, but for STANDARD TIME.

Richard Whitney's avatar

I have no opinion on DST or ST. I am just happy not to make the switch twice a year.

I used to work graveyard shift and nothing is worse than making it to 3am and watching the clocks shift back to 2am. Two places I worked refused to pay the extra hour, to boot.

I don't understand why people are content with having kids run over to make their point.

The easiest thing to do would be to start school an hour later.

Problem solved, and the rest of society can enjoy the benefits of no switching without killing kids to make a point.

And I remember talking with a patient about this subject and I said something about how supposedly it was "For the farmers", but this is no longer a farming country. Fewer than 1% of the population are now farmers. He gave me a weird look, and I asked "Are you a farmer?" Well, of course he was. Embarrassing. But he actually agreed that he hated the shift also.

I have a list of my own that I'd been meaning to make. Years ago, I'd reflected on the totally unlikely great people who had stepped forth to make the Revolution happen, and despaired of ever having such a large number of gifted people show up now. And then -- 2016 happened. Here's my (no doubt incomplete) list.....a few are gone already, but they showed up nonetheless. Thanks to God who sent them:

Yeah, even though he has gone all whacko on us, at the beginning, he sure had some pivotal moments in moving truth etc forward. Now on the black list, but I feel the early contributions warranted his inclusion.

It doesn't take Sherlock's avatar

Disagree. Tucker has plenty of content out there for people to listen to in its entirety. Tucker has been targeted and framed by a number of groups, one being the Zionist crowd because he pointed out the incredible atrocities done in Gaza by our 'ally'. Anyone who has watched his full episodes, especially a couple I provide links to below, know he is sound in his thinking and genuine. You may disagree with a conclusion on an issue, but for someone like Tucker who is fully in the public, he deserves the benefit of the doubt by people giving him a true listen on a topic. And he shouldn't be blasted for interviewing controversial people. We saw the covid scam and what happened when people were deprived of the input of legit doctors getting on national shows. I question anyone who says they agree with someone 100% of the time. And when someone is criticized heavily by people I know don't have America's interests first, ex. Israel-first types, my radar goes up. We've seen prior people like Dan Bongino, and influencers like Catturd, go off the rails, defending Trump no matter what. That isn't thinking.

Mike Johnson's point on our rights coming from our creator is extremely important. Communism is just one iteration of the mindset that man's rights come from the state. This notion has a long history in Western philosophy with such important philosophers such as Hobbes. The atheist and pantheist hold similar views. If there is no absolute God than of course rights flow from the state. A doctor friend asks why I am obsessed with understanding Western philosophy. My response, understanding it is like understanding one's origins.

Juju's avatar

It annoys me when people believe that the government/state grants rights and powers. The government and state are other men and women in our communities, mere humans like you and me. Under communism there’s a division of these mere humans into you, and those who assume themselves to be higher, wiser, and more important than you. It’s like a lottery to see who gets to boss everyone else around. So we aren’t getting our rights from the state, we’re getting our rights from Chad and Karen who live next door to us with all the same flaws and sins that everyone else possesses. Nobody thinks the reality of communism all the way through.

I like our present format of government where rights come from God alone and cannot be taken away, and power comes from the people as they choose who will represent them on a cyclical basis.

I’m not sure why,, you would think after decades and decades of communist leftist turning their backs on America, Americans, police and American Soldiers sent overseas, that I could understand how individuals here hate America, Americans police and especially American Soldiers, but I still have a hard time swallowing their dismissal of the murder of the American young. Some just at their jobs, some enjoying a night out, some just standing cheering on runners at a marathon, and some sent overseas wearing an American uniform. To me one murdered American deserves a relentless response. But to them it’s what we all deserve, they’ve been brainwashed probably in a college they didn’t pay for.

It’s incredible how most of these people that hate the country they live in, America, never hated all the benefits they have received by just being here. And you don’t need to live in America to enjoy it’s never ending benefits, the world has benefited immensely from America. In fact the world would be a much more treacherous place if not for America.

Funny how so many that love socialism move to states where there is no income tax. Sure it’s fine to send others kids off to fight in wars, protect the freedoms they benefit from, and then when these young treasures get killed or wounded they say they deserved it. You asshole they went there with the mindset they were protecting your ungrateful soul. It seems to me they’re all a bunch of disgusting hypocrites that I wish would vote with their feet and move to a country that they speak so highly of like Iran that mowed down 50,000 of their own unarmed citizens for protesting the insane dictatorship government which they have been forced to live under. Then after the thousands are killed including thousands of Americans they say what business is it of ours to dictate the government people are to live under. Or that we have no right to respond to the murder of Americans, or threats to America, I say you should move there.

Well today I hope they enjoy what this country has given to all of their treasonous asses and the world. Maybe they need to do a little self reflection of their own and appreciate what people like my father and my brother John gave their ungrateful asses. Have a nice relaxing day. Enjoy the government check I’m sure you get.

A quick answer is the most used textbook in the U.S. for so long was by Howard Zinn. No fan of America. We have generations indoctrinated in commie thought. Colonialism always 'bad'. Christian values removed from the classroom. People clueless about their own faith. We are harvesting those bad fruits now.

Johnny-O's avatar

Where was this textbook used? I had never heard of zinn until I was an adult. It sure is interesting how many think that are schools teach kids to be radical antiwar communists and trannies. Quit believing the nonsense.

It doesn't take Sherlock's avatar

You need to learn your history before going to "pooh pooh" mode. His books were used across the country in public schools as primary or secondary material in the 1980's and 1990's, and that thinking went to college and is a main reason so many public schools and colleges are infested with socialistic and communistic thought now, since 'educators' were 'educated' in his thoughts. That's just the plain fact. I saw them in that era myself. It was one of the reasons many parents chose to go the home-schooling route.

So you are ignorant in the true sense of the word, or covering for something.

Johnny-O's avatar

Where were they used? Certainly not where I went to school and certainly not where I teach. I think colleges would be more accurate.

Johnny-O's avatar

Clown. Iran didn't kill 50k protesters. Utter nonsense. A few thousand, which is of course horrible, but you are just being a useful idiot spreading propaganda.

If you feel so sorry for them perhaps you wouldn't be cheerleading the US bombing them and taking out critical infrastructure, and in the end will kill far more than their government did. There simply aren't enough minutes in the day to kill 50k people in the course of a few days. Try thinking a little bit with common sense.

They killed 600 violent rioters, who were paid to go out and disrupt and murder, by the US, in order to provoke the uprising Trump and the US/Israel were so sure would happen.

The violent rioters killed 2,400 people, stabbing, machetes, burning alive, running over. They burned police states, mosques, and other public buildings. Altogether then, there were 3,000 people killed.

But the people didn't take to the streets the way the US told them to.

Doh.

Then the US propaganda machine told us that they killed 30,000, because 3,000 didn't sound impressive enough, but James has casually added 20,000 to the total, to make it more impressive to Americans, who are pretty jaded about mass murder.

So then the US and Israel attacked them directly, killing their leaders and 168 schoolchildren, just on the first day. Then the people took to the streets, but not to support the return of the shah, to support the government that was fighting back to protect them from the bombs.

Doh.

Mrs. RW

Agree. Classic rally around the flag reaction when people go and bomb the crap out of their country and kill their leader. John Quincy Adams greatly stated 'we do not go looking for monsters abroad'. We have enough monsters in our own borders.

James Goodrich's avatar

Security forces in Iran killed thousands of protesters during the mass uprisings, with estimates varying widely. The Iranian government reported 3,117 deaths, while UN experts state over 5,000 were killed. Independent human rights organizations and medical groups estimate the true death toll is significantly higher, ranging between 7,000 and 36,000.

David A's avatar

You need to look at the history of human violence if you think 50 k dead in a few days is impossible. And perhaps you can articulate how you know the reports are false. Further explain why the Arab world has supported both the US and Israel in Iran.

Matt Dover's avatar

It's another Psyop. We only see what what the govt wants us to see. the only way to get real news is on live feeds of independent journalists. They didn't kill 50k. But the govt wants us to believe that...that way we can get in line and back the war.

We need to think the opposite of what we are being told. Time to wake up.

David A's avatar

Johnny-O's avatar

This was alleged to happen over just a few days. It simply isn't physically possible, without actually dropping a large bomb/explosive on a massive crowd(s) of people. Had that happened, it would have been documented and spready widely across the globe. Use some friggin common sense.

David A's avatar

What an inane comment. Of course it is easily physically possible.

Richard Whitney's avatar

Not to mention that the Official Story is 30,000, not 50,000.

It is sheer fantasy to add 20,000 people to the Official Story and claim that is equally possible.

Mrs. RW

Richard Whitney's avatar

The US and Israel bombed Iran for 40 days and nights. The death count from that attack is 4,000.

But you think that the Iranian government killed 50,000 protesters in 2 days. Remember that the protests were peaceful until Jan. 8th and 9th.

It is not physically possible. Even the violent rioters only managed to kill 2,600.

Mrs. RW

Johnny-O's avatar

If that happened, ACTUAL EVIDENCE would have been broadcast wide and large to the west. The government that constantly lies (our own and Israel's) saying something happened isn't ACTUAL EVIDENCE.

David A's avatar

There is substantial evidence from multiple independent sources, leaked documents, eyewitness accounts, and opposition figures indicating that Iranian security forces killed thousands of their own civilians during the suppression of nationwide protests in late 2025–early 2026 (often called the 2025–2026 Iran protests or "Crimson Winter.. Leaked official documents: Iran International reported reviewing IRGC Intelligence Organization documents provided to the Supreme National Security Council. These listed over 33,000 killed by one date and more than 36,500 by January 24–25, 2026, across ~400 cities—primarily in the two-day crackdown. This is described as the deadliest two-day protest massacre in history. Many consider this an underestimate. You see the world through colored Johnn O hate Israel glasses. Iran is a dark age jihad regime that is an enemy to the world, having threatened international commerce some 40 times. Also that is a short term view of this hate filled regime, as they have killed citizens since they gained power.

Johnny-O's avatar

Do you believe everything you read online? Again, if there were these massive events with 10s of thousands being killed in one day, it would be on video and distributed wide and far to help grease the zionist/US war machine.

David A's avatar

You already said that. I showed you numerous lines of evidence outside your limited false claim of Israel US sources. You have what is known as " confirmation bias."

Mike Gustine's avatar

How do you know this when the internet was shut down completely by the regime? How do you know these numbers are false? Does it matter the actual number? Isn't a few thousand abhorrent enough? Yes, the US military has killed more people in the middle east in the past 25 years than the mullahs killed in that uprising (which is only one uprising where they killed their own citizens, certainly not the only one). That is not in doubt (for me, anyway). But how does the difference in numbers absolve them of the US soldiers they and their proxies have killed? Sure, you can point to the coup in the 50's, that the CIA and Great Britain carried out to protect British oil companies, which was wrong and a mistake in my view. But it certainly doesn't absolve the current Iranian regime of the atrocities it has carried out. I choose to support my own country, no matter how flawed and messed up it is and has been. Now, I don't think Trump should have started the current war, I think it was mistake. But I can certainly see how different my life would have been had I not been born in this country, and I will be grateful for that no matter what. It's why I criticize the government, no matter which party is in power (and the two major parties are the problem, as they have worked together to prevent any other party from gaining any kind of power and influence). So again, what is your evidence? Because if it's just what regime itself has said, then I don't consider that evidence at all.

Johnny-O's avatar

Donna's avatar

Wow! Never heard the 47 year gambit? You must be super young! The mullahs started this in 1979 and held Americans hostage for more than a year then proceeded to take away their own people’s rights and turn it into an islamic prison.

Inisfad's avatar

At least you admit you never heard of Iran being under the thumb of Islamic radicals for 47 years. Indirectly, you’ve actually admitted you were just unaware of what was happening.

Mike Gustine's avatar

I honestly don't know the actual number who were murdered by the regime. Do you know for certain? I also don't believe the 50K number, but how would anyone know for sure? Or do you think the Iranian regime would never lie about such things? Honestly curious.

Matt L.'s avatar

I asked my 2nd generation Persian friend here in USA if he believed there were 40K deaths in Iran during Jan protests. He has family in Tehran that he’s in regular contact with. His reply was ‘no’ it wasn’t that much but it was still ‘a lot’. Like 10k I asked? His reply ‘not sure but that 10K figure probably more accurate than 40K’. Nobody really knows but the Basij/IRGC did kill a fair amount of civilian protesters - is the right answer.

Richard Whitney's avatar

My friend is in Iran. I posted this upthread, but in case you missed it.....

"Hello everyone, and thanks to all those who messaged me to ask about my wellbeing. I am writing this to tell you EVERYTHING YOU HEAR AND SEE ON YOUR MEDIA IS A LIE! I will tell you in nutshell what happened here from Tuesday to Friday.

Tuesday started with peaceful demonstrations for the unstable market. Wednesday, the marchers lines were infiltrated by violent groups, however, the security forces had strict order to not shoot, and in so many places they were sent UNARMED (remember Syria?)

Everything went spiral down fast and stormy on Thursday night, after the call of Reza P💩hlavi and his followers "take the streets, burn them down, kill, and have no mercy on their women and children".

Within hours streets were locked, unarmed security forces run down, dismembered, eyes gouched out, sodomised by foreign objects, BURNT ALIVE. Systematically huundreds of banks burned down, 4 hospitals burned, over 250 libraries burned, 186 ambulances burned and paramedics burned and mamed, fire trucks burned to ashes while trying to rescue residential buildings on fire, gas stations burned, schools, mosques, food stores, pharmacies, historic sites .... and then random fire opened up in the crowded areas on passer byes.

They took human shields of innocent people so security police couldn't stop them. They shot and killed women, children, nurses, street cleaners, defaced passer byes with sword, and bricks, beheaded ... horrors of Aleppi, Hamma, Mousul ... everything that they couldn't do in 12 days bombing.

Finally Friday all communications were cut off and announced anyone how stirs terror or attacks anything will be sh0t on the spot as enemy combatant. Saturday morning peace and order was restored but the country left in the blood of the innocent with monitory damage of billions of dollars. We watched all that LIVE on TV while you are hearing and seeing manipulated lies.

The official number of killed is 3110 I believe of whom about 2400 some are security forces and innocent people.''

Johnny-O's avatar

Yes, which is horrible, we can all agree on that. Ironically, the people who are most outspoken and "heartbroken" about it, are the ones clamoring for war, which will kill far more and spread far more misery to the civilian population. And, it is a war the US simply cannot win without a ground invasion, and we simply do not have the numbers to do that.

Janine Melnitz's avatar

I don't even think we could win with a ground invasion. Iran is a huge country. This war is very unpopular among most of the US citizens and I dont think we have the stomach for a prolonged conflict, mass death and WW3

Matt L.'s avatar

I don't see a ground invasion occurring. I also don’t see a Kharg island seizure happening, but I could be proven wrong on that. Kharg taking would result in some US military deaths. It might also bring on an Iran civil war. Civil war will result in another wave of refugees to the West. No good answers here.

Richard Whitney's avatar

I don't think the US is going to try to invade Kharg Island.

I think they're going to try to invade Sirik. That is why they destroyed the water supply for 20,000 people in June, and why they're bombing it now and killing fishermen in their boats.

They are trying to depopulate it so they can occupy it, the way they occupied 30% of Syria for over a decade.

I think that Iran will not put up with it the way Syria did, but we'll see.

Mrs. RW

Richard Whitney's avatar

I ran across an article from a week ago that explains why the people took to the streets to protest. Remember that at first, the government promised to respond to their demands, but then on Jan. 8th, the violent rioters were released.

"The liberal faction’s betrayal extends to the economic foundations of the Republic, and here the record is not ambiguous; it is a continuous, decades-long assault on the nation’s self-sufficiency. For more than thirty years, the reformist tendency has advocated the same neoliberal poison: mass privatization of state assets, the dismantling of subsidy networks that kept the working classes loyal, and the systematic transfer of national wealth into the hands of a comprador oligarchy. Khatami began the fire-sale. Rouhani accelerated it, stripping the social contract bare while his ministers stored their fortunes in Dubai, European countries, Canada, and the United States. And now Pezeshkian has delivered the terminal blow.

The so-called “economic surgery” is the language of shock therapy, and its specific mechanism is the abolition of the governmental exchange rate, the subsidized dollar price that allowed essential goods to enter the country without passing the full cost of sanctions onto the population. By moving this to the free market, the Pezeshkian government did not merely adjust a currency peg; it detonated the purchasing power of the nation overnight. Bread, medicine, fuel, and raw materials for domestic industry were instantly repriced at the black-market dollar rate. This is not economics; it is the Yeltsin model in Persian execution: the deliberate immiseration of the population under the guise of “modernization,” the reduction of a sovereign economy to a vassal market where only the dollar-denominated elite survives.

The consequences were immediate and catastrophic. Inflation exploded. The rial collapsed because the state voluntarily removed the floor beneath its own currency; sanctions were a secondary blow. The working class, the agricultural base, the industrial worker, those who had borne the weight of the resistance economy, were suddenly priced out of existence. This was the material tinder for the conflagration that followed.

And that conflagration was not spontaneous. It was engineered. The CIA and Mossad, operating through a network of satellite channels of which Iran International is merely the most visible example, had spent years preparing the narrative architecture. These channels do not broadcast news; they operate as psychological warfare battalions, pushing the “return of the Shah” fantasy, instructing urban populations in riot tactics, identifying targets for sabotage, and recruiting operatives for Mossad-connected rings inside the country. Billions of dollars were poured into this machinery: Starlink terminals were smuggled to coordinate armed insurrection, social media algorithms were weaponized to amplify despair, and the very inflation that the liberal government had created was blamed not on the neoliberal shock therapists in Tehran, but on the so called hardliners who refused to surrender.

The sequence is unmistakable. First, the liberal oligarch class implements the economic shock that destroys purchasing power. Second, the foreign-funded media apparatus channels the resulting rage into the streets. Third, armed elements, trained, equipped, and communicated via Starlink, escalate the riots into an attempted regime change. This is not policy failure; it is coordination. The liberal faction creates the economic conditions for destabilization, and its foreign partners exploit them. The reformist who cries for sanctions relief while his policies immiserate the population is the domestic facilitator of a transnational coup.

The oligarchs in Tehran ministries who park their wealth in Emirati and Saudi banks, the same banks financing the propaganda networks used to destabilize their own country, understand this perfectly. They are not victims of circumstance. They are beneficiaries of the chaos. The destruction of the subsidized exchange rate does not hurt them; their fortunes are indexed to the dollar. Their children study in London and Toronto. It is no coincidence that Azerbaijan, whose territory openly hosts Israeli intelligence operations, was spared completely, with no reprisal, no warning. Qatar and the UAE, despite their documented role in financing destabilization, were likewise spared even after the ceasefire violations rendered the MOU a dead letter. These omissions are not a strategy. They are class solidarity, the mutual protection of a transnational elite that has already chosen its side."

Good Wednesday morning! We are out fishing today so hopefully we will be blessed with some fish for dinner. And if not, we still enjoys God’s blessings and am grateful!

I wish you all a blessed day.

Karmy's avatar

Thank you Richard but we are all truly blessed. Jesus loves us all. ☺️

So jelly. I miss the days of my childhood camping where we were with families that knew how to fish and how to cook it over a campfire. The deliciousness will never leave my memory. For over 50 years now I have tried to learn how to replicate it, but because I’m not a fisherman I am left working with store bought, previously frozen, farm-raised fish. It is NOT the same. I remember bass (or some kind of bass) was the one that made my heart explode in a Wisconsin campground. ❤️❤️❤️ Please please catch one for me and prepare it lovingly and share how good it tasted.

Smallmouth bass cooked in smoking hot oil, iron skillet on a wood fire 👍🤸‍♂️

Inflation cooling??? I just paid $27 for 2 sandwiches. Just because oil goes down during a lull in Iran war, does not change the reality. “Inflation” is not just the prices of a current collection of a few items the government assembles. Inflation is expansion of the money supply. It will not be possible to end that since we are now deep into the debt trap where annual interest on the debt is $1 Trillion a year. Can we be honest about this?

Susan Seas's avatar

Shops raise prices and they never go down. That is NOT the administration.

We need to go back on the Gold Standard.

maybe make your sandwiches at home?

FYI- paying $27 for 2 sandwiches doesn't prove your point.

Graphite's avatar

Why on earth would you part with $27 for 2 sandwiches??? Hahaha - I would rather skip a meal!

If you’re going “to be honest” about this then you must recognize that you’re blaming the wrong parties. Get rid of the fraud and you get rid of the debt. Period. This administration didn’t cause inflation, against all odds they are lowering it. Fraud allowed for decades prior caused it, and it exploded under Biden. Frankly it should have taken years and years to reverse the inflation and the debt, but somehow this amazingly gifted group of people on this administration are lowering it much sooner. The problem is you expect results in a time frame that is kinda impossible and when a president takes over and comes closer than anyone ever expected, especially the 67? experts? You want to put all the blame on him and the closest disputed expenditure you can grab, the Iran war.

You will never hear most here mention that Trump on track to outspend Bidumb's record deficit, and projected to leave office owning $15 trillion of the $45 trillion US debt. So much winning.

And my favorite Greek feta at Costco just went from $10 to $15. These aren't your droids.

The inflation numbers a so manipulated just like the job reports. Leave out certain aspects of the actual economy to make your numbers look good.

My high school junior just informed me that water is not wet. It makes things wet (or dry).

In high school chemistry class I learned if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the precipitate.

Haha - funny!

Ugh! And the sky is not blue, according to a past middle school teacher of my SIL. It just appears to be blue. 🙄

I was told that “water is life” 😑

JT's avatar

Yes, exactly...water is a liquid (like mercury at room temperature), wetness is a condition.

JONATHAN FISHBEIN's avatar

Clarification: water is neither wet nor dry! It makes things wet.

Juju's avatar

🤦🏼‍♀️ However … it did make me wonder if there is a dry substance that when placed onto something else it creates a wet condition ? 🤔 But thinking like that only proves water is wet itself. 😆

Yes. A dry diaper on a baby.

Why do we subject ourselves to all of the social & deep-state media PsyOps? Do yourself a favor and stop doomscrolling on X and Facebook. Stop arguing with the other side. Get your daily news fix of optimism here and move on. Go outside and garden or work. Pretend you are Amish for a least a few hours every day. The conflict is between the competing narratives in your mind. Just turn them off and get some peace.

I don't ‘doomscroll’ …

Y’all's so lazy … Put ‘likes’ on everything useful, unfollow what's not, and CURATE y’all's feed.

Done and Done.

Roger Beal's avatar

Since the MSM went in the crapper, scrolling is the only way to get actual news and logical opinions. So why call it "doom"scrolling? Why not "truth"scrolling instead!
