Here in CA they say they do it because of lack of rain, to ease dry conditions, droughts, and they've been doing it here for decades. So based on those reasons, why would they be doing it in Florida? According to weather-atlas.com, St.Augustine gets ample rainfall year round and doesn't have a dry season.

The sky is almost completely clouded over now on S. St. Augustine. There is a lot of farmland around here. Looks like lots of cabbage crops. They are probably spraying to poison the vegetables.
