Oh contrair sir! Christ established His kingdom when He ascended to His throne at the right hand of God to rule and of His reign there will be no end. Within the SAME generation of those who heard His words, He "came" in judgement upon Jerusalem in 70 AD and destroyed the Temple as He prophesied earlier and as prophesied in the OT. Promises kept.

I find it amusing that commenters here try to convince others to believe what they believe, religion-wise. People will believe what they believe, and there's pretty much no chance of reasoning them out of it. They gotta go one way or another as their life sees fit and accept the consequences

Hi Laura-Ann, it is nice to meet you.

You raise a great point, and you are absolutely correct that we cannot convert others; that is certainly not our job as Disciples of Christ. Our duty is to be compassionate toward others and spread the Gospel.

We can't change anyone's beliefs ourselves - only God can soften someone's heart. But we certainly can pray for another person and ask for God's blessing upon him or her. He wants us to plant seeds through conversation, actions, and sharing Scripture.

Often, God puts someone in our path for this very reason. Whether or not our seeds will bear fruit is out of our control.

Have a wonderful week!

Yeah, it's a good story!

Too bad it's a bunch of bullshit.

God does not exist.

Prove that does. Betcha can't.

Don't have to. Try and prove He doesn't exist. BS is as BS does.

Phil, based on Dennis' use of old fashioned terminology like "codswallop," it is apparent that Dennis is either (1) an elderly gentleman, which means he is not far from meeting his Maker, or (2) a bot. If the former, he needs prayer before it's too late for him.

In Matthew 5:10-12, Jesus says, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven."

In Matthew 10:22, Jesus assured His followers, "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved."

This confirms the Truth that His followers endure persecution.
