A Winters Note

It’s sometimes easy to think we’re not making much of a difference. We wake up, get the family going, we go to work, maybe help a friend, just our normal routine. The truth is most of life is ordinary. We should never think though, our everyday actions don’t make a difference. Everything we do matters, not just the big things, but the small everyday acts we do. A smile, a kind word, a phone call to a friend that’s struggling, these are the things that have the greatest impact on others around us. In Mathew 10:42 Jesus said “whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of my disciples, will be rewarded”. This meaning even a small act of kindness done will be noticed and rewarded.

When you go the extra mile at work, even something that goes unnoticed, your hard work, faithfulness, dedication, and the sacrifice you make, is noticed by God. Nothing we do goes unnoticed by him. These moments may seem ordinary but these are the things that have the biggest impact on the people we touch.

I often think of after my mother had passed. I didn’t miss the big things she did, it was all the small things. Every morning we would sit, have coffee and just talk. I missed that the most. I missed her encouraging words helping me to move forward, her positive message telling me I could succeed. I never realized that those small ordinary moments were the things that would one day mean the most to me. We should always be aware that it’s these small things we do everyday that have the greatest impact on the people around us. My mother passed away 33 years ago, more than 1/2 my life, and I still grieve the loss. This shows the impact her kindness had on my life and that grief has no timeline.

We all have many more ordinary days than miraculous ones, but the ordinary days do have purpose, they create the space for God to work and make those miraculous days in our life and those around us.

In the not too distant past I would wake and think maybe today things will start to change. We’ve all been through so much over these past 6 years. One positive thing we can do for those that have helped us is let them know, acknowledge it. thank them. People may never know the impact they had on you if you don’t acknowledge it. Let them know the positive impact they made on you.

I have plowed snow for 40 years. Over those years I have seen the stress caused by bad weather, people afraid they will be left. When I tell them that I will always be there to help them, and that before you know it the weather will warm. The perennials planted around their house will begin to pop and flower again, I feel their stress melting away.

As greedy and as selfish as man can be the earth pays him no attention. In the spring the earth will again tilt back on her axis and begin to warm. Like the earth life has seasons. There are seasons of growth, there are seasons of harvest. The winter is considered a season to connect with our inner self, and with our guardian angels, a time to awaken our spiritual consciousness.

Give the people around you a call. Let them know you will be there for them if they need you. Don’t let people think they are alone. Share the gifts that God has given to you. It’s those small things we do that can have the greatest impact on those around us. J.Goodrich

THANK YOU! I found your post so encouraging! I am in winter (both seasonally and in life!) (I am caring for my elderly mother in my home who came with SO MUCH baggage; anger, and hateful conversations!

The past 4 years have been hard emotionally and spiritually - and I have struggled with resentment! But then.... A "spring" of sorts is appearing - the more she is dependent for help and the more my family and I have been dependable to provide help - her attitude has softened and she is letting go of the baggage she has carried for so long (my parents divorced after 35 years marriage, and then Dad remarried 10 years later - she never forgave him and didn't want us to either!)

BUT Thank God - He can do healing deep down inside - in her - in me - in every place healing is needed. And He IS bringing forth healing!

I stand firm on the Word of God - He is my Rock and my Fortress!

Through the "sunny" days and the storms of life - He truly has NEVER left or forsaken me!

I am humbly grateful! Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏼🙂

Thank you for this. I have a sister who has untold trauma and bitterness in her life, and this gives me hope that I will have a relationship with her again. It's really all about Jesus. He saves and delivers.

Seventy-five years in this life has taught me that it’s all temporary. We should never assume that the status of today is how it will always be. Nor should we think that God has forsaken us and our trials when we can’t see any way forward. We can’t change others, but we can choose to be at peace in our inner most parts.

Patience is indeed a virtue of great value.

MaryAnn's avatar

Willing Spirit—Heartily agree. Everything is temporary. I also learned that life is made up of ‘small, ordinary moments’—hat tip to J. Goodrich—with occasional large events sprinkled in. Rarely do I get a life-changing opportunity but I do often get brief chances to make my slice of this world a better place.

Nancy Benedict's avatar

Very well said. Thank you.

It is indeed good to be at peace with God and the world. I have been in recovery mode over the past almost 4 weeks. Takes awhile after caregiving but I would do it all over again! To think he is at rest with no more sorrow, pain or dementia confusion! I’m glad there is a Heaven for me and everyone who will accept it. John 3:16. It was bitter cold last Saturday but inside the church was warmth and the story of a sweet Southern Christian Gentleman! My beloved sweetheart!

Then on Sunday morning the miracle we all look forward to happened! I now have a new beautiful great nephew!! “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven: A time to be born and a time to die;…” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a KJV.

VelvetStitching, my dad just passed in November at 93. He was my favorite as I was his and mother hated that and was a horrible witch to me my whole life, but just this last month she has finally softened and I can help her put their affairs in order. No easy task since she lives five hours away, and the death has pushed her into anxiety mode and she now has what I call intermittent dementia.

She can’t drive and is living on her own, but this week, (she doesn’t know it) I am putting a deposit down on an independent living place here. She’ll be on a wait list, so I’ll have quite a few months to convince her to move here. My brother and I sat them down over two years ago to try to convince them to move here, that went over like a lead balloon. You see, she’ll be further away from her beloved son and grandsons.

Anyway, I’m glad to hear that your mom has finally softened, thank you for sharing.

Karen Bandy's avatar

I’m almost 70, even though we have longevity in my family, I never imagined that I would be under such stress about aging parents as I am now. Dad hid his illnesses for a couple of years before he passed, so it’s been pretty easy I must admit, well until last August.

My brother can’t help because his wife has Lewy Body dementia, probably jab induced but that’s a topic for another day.

Donna in MO's avatar

Prayers, Karen. Been down that road. Mom is clear minded but mobility/fall risk issues and a bad case of TDS. Two sisters at opposite ends of the country teamed up with me to 'convince' (she really had no choice as she could no longer care for herself independently) her to move closer to me in an assisted living place. Over the past 3 years she has become easier to get along with, and can't remember the last time we've had a political battle or made little snide passive aggressive digs at me.

Karen Bandy's avatar

Amazing how they soften. I am so happy for you. ❤️

VelvetStitching's avatar

Btw - I understand abt the special relationship with Dad!

& My dad passed a year ago at 90…so very hard - even now!

I'm very happy for you that your relationship with Mom is improving!

I pray God open doors for you all! 😍

God bless!

Losing ones independence is not easy.

Convincing dad that he should no longer drive his car was heartbreaking. To him and us boys.

Prayers and blessings for your acts of kindness, especially after a contentious relationship with your mother is admirable, Karen

Karen Bandy's avatar

Thank you. Lets hope as we loose independence later, much later, that we do it with grace.

I'm at the stage trying to talk my Mom into assisted living and she is having fits about it. It's so hard and I physically can't take care of her.

Donna in MO's avatar

In my case, I was more or less living with her - sleeping on an air mattress in her spare bedroom-she had the money for home care aides to come in, but they were unreliable and was not going to pay someone to stay there while she slept. (had to get up thru the night to pee and needed help). Kept saying she just 'needed more time' to recover from a leg injury. Four months in of being basically unable to work, (self-employed but her care dominated my schedule to where I had to turn projects down), I laid down the law. Set up a zoom call with my sisters and we told her I was not going to keep this up. Oh she was not happy, tried every guilt trip under the sun but she did recognize she could not remain 'independent' - which she had not really been for the last couple of years. Even before her injury I was there 3-4 days a week for something and a neighbor came and brought her mail and newspaper every day. Got her moved and she sulked in her apartment for a couple of months, had her meals delivered and refused to participate in any activities. But she eventually came around and it's been a godsend. Been there almost 3 years and she has made new friends, is in better health, and physical therapy has gotten her to where she can do things like get to the bathroom and dress herself without help. Complains less, and relatives/sisters comment how she is practically a different person. Hasn't picked a political fight with me in a couple of years and even convinced her to vote for some conservatives. But did vote for Harris...

Karen Bandy's avatar

This is wonderful to hear, well, at least most of it, lol. The Harris part not so much!

I believe that when people are bitter like this, they only need someone to listen to them. They want to say aloud how they were wronged and have another person hear it. They want to share their hurt. When their complaints are openly aired the bitterness weakens and can recede. So let her talk and listen to help her heal.

VelvetStitching's avatar

Unfortunately for the children of very difficult marriages - we have heard it all our lives - same stuff.

But now I'm an adult and I can speak truth back into it (not my truth - but the Word of God!). Yes, she is speaking her hurt and it is slowly healing.

Margot Wooster's avatar

"the children of very difficult marriages" - that's a good way to put it. That describes my dear husband. God is working in him :)

My experience is they (the parents, in my case my Mom, Dad died when I was 30) soften with time as they age. I had a quite adversarial relationship with my mom. As she got older and her memory started to be affected, she softened from the narcissist, Queen Bee that she could be, and I could tolerate being around her. She came to appreciate all I was doing for her, and that I was the only one of her three children who really cared about her well being and looked after her.

It’s not the big things we miss, it’s the little things! So true. My mother passed away 13 years ago in January. It will be twenty years for my dad in October. I miss all the things he did for me. He was a Jack of all trades and was always my call to rescue something gone wrong in my house. I miss the little conversations with my mom, all the things she taught me. Her last months, battling cancer were rough as I felt she had hid so much from us that might have helped her live longer. It took almost a decade for me to realize, she was right on so many things and the way she lived. I find myself as I get closer to her passing age, that it was her life and respect the privacy she sought. I am becoming the same way. Independent but tied to the community and church I grew up in. Covid knocked that apart and made me rethink so many things. I did not run with the crowd during the scamdemic and thought we would never free ourselves from the tentacles. But there were those out there that fought and we found each other, and by God’s grace we survived. My mother’s lesson, “keep going forward”.

Once again James, I thank you for your deep wisdom. This morning I was thinking about the wisdom of my Mom, who passed away from Covid on Mother’s Day in May 2020. I remember telling her when I was 40, why didn’t she make me listen harder when I was younger and thought that I knew everything. My Mom was my best friend and I told her everything ( well, almost everything 😉). She let me know that I was hard headed and wouldn’t listen back then. I was the type of daughter that had to figure it out for myself… in order to gain my own wisdom. She had 8 children and knew us all.. better than ourselves. This morning tho I was thinking about all of the fun and laughter that we had together! My life changed when she passed away and I miss her more everyday ❣️

SadieJay's avatar

Same here. I had my mom for 61 years. Her passing was divinely orchestrated and I know it is what she wanted, but being the one there for her at the end with hospice coming to her house was a truly gutting experience. She was almost 98 and my best friend. Yes, I told her everything, but now there is an empty space where she used to dwell. My life has changed since she has been gone. Her death has stripped away all pretense of things and ushered in the importance of nurturing our soul and spirit instead of acquiring meaningless and empty things.

VelvetStitching's avatar

That described my relationship with my Dad.

As Mayor Wu in Boston philosophizes that every person in the world has a right to come to the United States her Chief of staff came out and said there should be gender equity in snow removal. Two feet of snow fell a week and a day ago, the streets of Boston are a snowy icy mess, trash piling up, and Wu is pushing gender equality for snow removal. By the way who gave her the authority to give every person in the world the right to come here, Mayor Wu? She has no authority to invite the world into America. Joe Biden had no right to open our borders and let the world into our country. This is treason! Mayor Wu is the same woman that had a Christmas party and right on her emailed invitation she said no white people allowed! We are 38 trillion dollars in debt and are spending 2 trillion per year in deficit spending. If we can’t take care of the 331 million people in America today how can we possibly take care of 8 billion people, or 3 billion, even 1 billion. I think that’s the point, isn’t it, we can’t.

Massachusetts governor, Maura Healy, has handed legislation to the House making Massachusetts a sanctuary state. This will sail through the legislature and Healy will sign it. Incredibly buses have already been spotted in Dorchester full of paid protestors. Boston was on the list for ice to come in and start deporting criminal illegal aliens. Healy and Wu are setting up for another all out war on ice.

The governor of Maine, Janet Mills, is following Massachusetts lead and promises the same. This is becoming a full blown insurrection. The states cannot decide which federal laws they are going to recognize and which laws they ignore. Does this not remind us of a similar democrat insurrection?

Do you notice, these Marxists aren’t pushing to replace the Chinese people in China with others. They’re not pushing to replace Mexicans in Mexico with others. No, it’s white Americans, white Canadians, and white Europeans they must have replaced. This is not a replacement theory, this is a replacement reality, you only have to listen to what they say.

They are right about one thing they say, there is more racism in this world today than ever, I t’s their racism against white people. Mayor Michelle Wu is an in your face racist.

Do you notice Americans are not allowed to just go and live anywhere we want to live, whenever and for as long as we want. Switzerland, China, the Bahamas etc., no it’s a privilege to be let into those countries as it should be. It’s only the predominantly white western countries that must be invaded. Why aren’t the Marxist pushing for Americans to invade China?

Yes! I love telling people that, please go to Switzerland and tell them at customs that you’re going to stay there to live. You will literally be on the next plane back to the US. I’ve actually seen that happen.!

I looked into moving to Ireland back in 2004! All you can have is a 3month visa and then have to leave the country before you can have another 3 month visa. Now as a retired person, you have to prove that you can support yourself in your retirement years, with a certain documented income so that you would never go on the ‘dole’ as they say there. Now with all of their unchecked immigration, I’m not so sure of my original desire to move there!

Double Mc's avatar

Poor Ireland is not the beautiful place I visited in the early 2000s. A friend there is beside herself at the changes brought by the immigrants.

Jane Tracy's avatar

Does your friend there live in a city or the country? I went to the west of Ireland a year and a half ago and that part is still unchanged in the countryside. I didn’t go into any of the larger cities.

dancingtime's avatar

They are going to unwhite the countryside in the UK....

How did the immigrants get past Ireland's 3 month limit?

Jane Tracy's avatar

They are part of the EU which has welcomed the immigrants and they can move freely through the EU, which Ireland is a member.

Cabogirl's avatar

Mexico is the same now. You cannot just move here. Mexico requires $3,500 per mo active income and $140,000 in the bank (not counting investments or property .. cash only). Yep. They don’t want to take care if anyone but expect that the US keeps all their imports, let them work, get house loans and auto loans and send 67 billion back to support family members in Mexico. What a great trade deal this is !!!

I live near Mexico in CA. I grew up in this area, and have lived in SoCA for 73 years. I am a Gringa, and I speak Spanish. I have traveled extensively in Mexico and Central America, even “living” in Mexico for months at a time.

To go and live there on a permanent basis as an expat (regardless of age) one has to prove to the Mexican government that one has an income and or substantial funds to live there. The Mexican government has no intention of giving any kind of “aid or free healthcare” to any of these “extranjeros”.

Oh and a PS: You can’t “work” for any local Mexicans as an “extranjero”. Maybe an “international/global/ corporate” job is possible. Not like the Mexicans and others “migrants” from around the world work up here in the USA.

RunningLogic's avatar

Yup, exactly, I have lived and traveled enough overseas and know lots of other people who have too, to understand that you can’t just go to another country and decide to stay there, and especially not expect them to feed and house you. The leftists look so ridiculous and childish when they make statements like the ones Wu and Healey made 😡🙄

Frontera Lupita's avatar

That the Lefties think that we should support all these “illegal migrants” is insane. Many countries do not allow any migration into their country without some sort of proof of financial independence (that means you have some dinero to support yourself). All the countries that have allowed this unmitigated ‘immigration’ around the world, look at them now. Totally taken over by ‘migrants’. And this is what happened on a wholesale level over the past 5 years. I know, I live in a ‘border city’. I saw it first hand.

SD Scott's avatar

They should be obligated to personally house & provide for all illegals in their jurisdictions. No public funding allowed!

Anyone protesting ICE should be fined the expense an illegal or family has cost the public. Including serving their jail sentences.

Yes. Every ‘sanctuary’ state, city and town must be made responsible for paying for fully housing, schooling, feeding and medically caring for every illegal immigrant they are harbouring.

Mike's avatar

Simply put an end to Federal funding of anything related to or supporting illegal immigrants or sanctuary status.

SD Scott's avatar

Oh yeah, make it retroactive. Then deport!

Right James. I propose we K.I.R.K as many of those in opposition to freedom of speech and the other tenets of our constitution as we can. The acronym stands for Kindness In Rhetoric is Key which one Charlie Kirk personified. Keep-Ing 'R Kool while we debate the issues with the Left is one of the most effective ways to open their eyes to the insanity they espouse. A lot of prayer before, during and after each encounter is just as important. I Peter 3:15 says "Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks a reason for the hope that is in you," and Charlie did just that.

On an island's avatar

Nice idea in theory and Charlie was one of my greatest heroes. Problem is, you try to debate them and it’s like talking to a middle schooler. They have no logical arguments to return; they only respond with name calling, lies, nastiness and violence. And it seems to be getting worse.

Mike's avatar

Annnnd, they do not "ask a reason for the hope that is in you,". Be ready, be prepared to respond even though unlikely.

Aegeandreams's avatar

They are of Satan. You cannot open their eyes.

M. Patrick McCrary's avatar

Some are, some aren't and since we can't tell straight up, we must engage them in love and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

Aegeandreams's avatar

No, they all are part of Satan. They endorse what is abnormal, support chaos and criminals and partake in great immoral deeds. That is Satan. If you want to engage them in love have at it. Not me. I follow the below.

Proverbs 4:14-15 (ERV): "Don't take the path of the wicked; don't follow those who do evil. Stay away from that path; don't even go near it. Turn around and go another way".

Willing Spirit's avatar

I personally testify to surviving cult brainwashing and emerging into the light of day. I was utterly horrible in the 70s; a time of darkness that I see many parallels to in the present day.

The apostle Paul writes in the New Testament about women being saved by childbirth and that happened to me. (I Timothy 2:15)

I looked at that innocent baby and the full weight of responsibility hit me.

Of course, I was raised in a Bible believing church and knew the Truth before I was deceived. My falling away began in adolescence and I resisted God so I didn’t know that much. But I have to believe that the Truth can be learned by any who are willing. I had to relearn so much, but it was a precious and exciting adventure for which I wouldn’t trade anything.

Aegeandreams's avatar

I doubt you were depraved, evil and malevolent like the active demons on the Left are. Thankful you are back in the fold!

SadieJay's avatar

That is where I am at from this point forward. There is no arguing or winning with someone who is possessed. God is on the move and the evil spirits are screaming. We can hear them. It is good vs. evil, all out in the open now. As we march around their walls in silent prayer and a shout of victory at the end, God wins. And He does tell us to stay away from the wicked. No problem!

Aegeandreams's avatar

Did you hear about the Democratic Satanist display in the Minnesota Capitol Building gifted to Walz? Yup you heard that right. We are in an active and alive Spiritual battle and yes SadieJay, you can hear the evils screaming, ranting and raving. It is all so clear. Team God for me and mine.

Double Mc's avatar

You bring up an excellent point: we are seeing evil everywhere, seemingly getting worse by the day, because God is about to DO something. God does not react to Satan; it is the other way around.

SHug's avatar

That's a nice idea Patrick, if you can get any of them to listen. I've not seen them do anything besides attack, scream foulness and blow whistles, .... but as far as I am concerned, they killed and then celebrated the death of the one man willing to go all in on talking with people all around the country.

I hope everyone of those ICEout paid protesters gets busted eardrums from whistles and they each get a big dose of tear gas. If anyone can ID them they should do so, and they can at least be reported to the IRS if they don't report their payments for protests. Our poor federal officers being doxxed, families threatened and attacked. Those officers need large bonuses after they get the job done.

Smurfs are proving that indeed some people are just too stupid to live within society. Is there even a place large enough to hold them all if they are arrested once their protest turns not so peaceful?

I'm so tired of them all and I can turn off their idiocy; I can only imagine what the officers think about it. Idiots think bringing children to their stupid protests is a good idea as well, when they know the kind of violence they are willing to do and provoke, then want to whine & cry when their kids gets a face full of tear gas. They should stop being deliberately stupid and should be looked into for abuse of those kids.

One thing we know for sure: the immigration flows in one direction. This means that what was created by westerners, and preserved by borders, has value to those who did not and could not create it.

But somehow, it is a moral wrong for westerners themselves to value it?

Thanks James, remembering the earth tilts and spins as part of maintaining it balance is always useful. Discussing the analogy to ICE (where we Elected the President to do exactly what the President said he would do AND is doing)... I asked the left why they fight winter and the cold and ICE. Their dispute is with none of those, but with the tilt of the Earth, it has tilted away from them to restore balance, & it probably will tilt back. But their demands that the earth tilt for them are Icarus level hubris; a well deserved fall from grace.

I live in a 1800 sq. Ft. cape. My gas bill has gotten to almost 1500 dollars / month, and electric is over 400/month. I’m leaving like so many people are. I can’t afford to live here. 40 years of business down the drain.

When you find a door slightly ajar - and often rare - I wiggle in some truths. I explain that Marx was writing about pasty white people in modern type slavery conditions (meaning they were disposable) and that the notion of white was a tiny sliver in the 1800s. The Catholic Irish, Scilians, Eastern Europeans wouldn't have fit in the category. Finally, I joke that the Wu's of the world are colonizing white culture and isn't colonizing a bad thing? Personally, I am happy Asian Tiger moms insist kids learn classical music as live performances would go extinct without them. I would absolutely love for justice to be served to the Clintons. But I predict that they won't be able to recall anything. It worked well for Hillary before. About the Tesla/XAi merger…. What happened to our anti-trust laws in this country? I’m old enough to remember when Ma Bell was broken up because it was too big, but since then…nothing.

I think Elon has done some really great things but this merger seems like…a lot, and will make it impossible for others to compete in the marketplace. (I also feel this way about Amazon and have for years). Someone explain to me what I’m not understanding, please.

Jenna McCarthy substack today brought up some serious issues about Elon's Grok re: nasty sex stuff. Really bad sex stuff. I am worried about hearing this as I did not think Elon would partake in that filth. Here is the teaser:

If you thought Cyberworld reached peak chaos when Grok started acting like a randy teenage Photoshop addict, buckle up, buttercups. After last month’s viral undressing scandal—when users discovered Elon Musk’s AI assistant could strip real women *and children* down to AI-generated bikinis made of dental floss or less—Musk issued a classic Silicon Valley non-apology (“I didn’t even know it could do that [laughs in Canadian] but we’ll probably for sure look into it.”).

Sunnydaze's avatar

We know someone who partook of the basics of grok and had the ai calling him sexy names and having a “relationship” with it and he’s a married man. Useful yes….worth it? NOPE!

If we break up any monopoly, it should be Blackrock, Vanguard and State Street. Especially Blackrock because it has systematically bought up a controlling interest in every major corporation and has been calling the shots on crap like DEI and chemtrails. There are now a limited number of conglomerates that own practically every food company which is why we are all served up processed crap across the board. It is a monopoly of the worst kind.

I think anti-trust generally applies to owning a single market; Ma Bell owned most of US market. All of the SpaceX companies have competition (autos, Blue Origin, Blue Sky etc.) and combining these companies does not appear (to me) to overlap/suppress competition. Blue Origin can start/buy a car company, or rival to xAI etc.

If anyone thinks the Clinton’s will remember anything about Epstein I have a bridge in NYC I will sell you. This is nothing but political theater and Bill will wipe the fools on the Republican side like the master bullshitter he is. Hilary will just play dumb because in the end she is. The Democrats will pretend that this is the worse thing ever done to an ex President and the Republicans have hit a new low. The Republicans just need to start working and passing legislation that actually matters. Taking away all rights of government unions to negotiate. Tying the hands of a Democrat lead Congress from massive spending increases. Making it a Federal crime to release violent criminals make into the public by stripping away immunity from the judges and prosecutors who do it. Give us the right to sue them. Making DOGE the most powerful agency ever. Giving it the ability to stop any spending when they find corruption like what’s happening in Minnesota and California. Tying any Federal funding of state and local law enforcement to complete compliance with the Federal Government to enforce immigration laws. Reforming the immigration laws so it’s easier not harder to come here legally. Etc etc etc.

Sunnydaze's avatar

I’m tempering my expectations. They’ve had weeks, months, years to confer with “counsel” to come up with a corrupt plan to avoid actually answering anything and not to get caught in questions trying to trap them. 😂. Slimy snakes like this don’t survive for decades without perfecting their lies, cheats, and safe havens with corrupt lawyers. They’re ready for this. No countryside excursions? We live in a suburb…we could see the night sky when we first moved here over a decade ago but light pollution has increased since then and we are getting close to having to move farther out if we made this a priority…

Sometimes I’ve taken my young boys out on chilly winter nights, bundled with blankets and winter gear and we lie down on our trampoline to stare up at the stars. Even though we haven’t done it a lot, they talk about it all the time.

Willing Spirit's avatar

The memory of one cold, crystal clear, star drenched and sparkling night from my childhood will always be with me. It melted into my soul and I felt like the stars were singing with millions of sweet voices. I thought of a black velvet blanket on which countless diamonds had been spread.

Do you know the story of the Rainbow Bridge? Well in case you don't, here it is...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies - one that has been especially close to someone here - that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water, sunshine and cozy beds, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special, someone who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stoops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass - his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet - so long gone but never absent from your heart.

And please know that home hospice for pets is available so they can be at home and not at a cold and stressful vet's office. Palliative care at home along with helping them make their sojourn Home to Heaven.

Thank you for posting this.

Willing Spirit's avatar

My son wrote a big check for a home last visit for our beloved ‘Indiana Jones’ dog, when at 15 he just couldn’t take care of me anymore. It was so comforting at such a difficult time.

SHug's avatar

Yes, the home hospice for pets are to be commended. The vet & assistant who came for my Spike was less cost than the vet hospital, and my boi did not have to be stressed & I was able to hold him the entire time. And it included cremation and a paw print keepsake.

TriTorch, thank You for posting this. I had a beautiful female yellow lab named Brandy. Of the three dogs we had Brandy was the one that lit up the house. She had such a big personality. I walked her and our male lab Colby twice a day. On walks I could let them off the leash and if there was a puddle she would look at me and I’d say no puddles, she would bolt through the puddle, the muddier the better. She knew I’d have to wash her and wipe her down, she loved that!

Brandy picked me, I was her human. She followed me whenever I was home and laid on my feet wherever I sat. I loved our 3 dogs but Brandy made me special.

At 14 she started getting me up about 1-2 AM and had to go out. I figured out she was throwing up. After many tests including a biopsy of her stomach we found out she had stomach cancer, I couldn’t believe it, she was so active and healthy. I started feeding her all different kinds of human food, steak, pork chops, chicken, shaved steak, etc.. Whenever she got sick from one food she would turn her nose up at it. I ended up giving her pancakes, syrup and breakfast sausages, this lasted a while but eventually she stopped eating that as well. Even keeping water down started being a problem. Brandy was my dog, my wife was mad at me for waiting though Brandy kept fighting, I had to put her to sleep. The last full day of her life I took her to the neighborhood school and played ball with her, she acted as though she was fine she was a warrior. The day finally came and my best friend was gone, I loved her! I prayed to God my older brother would take Brandy until I see them both again, a day I can honestly say I long for. To this day I still feel I let my best friend down.

You did not let her down; you made sure she had a good life and an easy transition. She sounds sort of like my Zip:

Regarding Presley and Ilhan Omar, somebody (!!) is funding their runs for office. Despite the intentions of our Founding Fathers, nobody can run a successful campaign for Congress nowadays without a lot of cash.

Refugees and broke people don't have lots of cash.

Who's putting them up to running.

Exciting news on the SAVE act! Now if we could just stop states and cities from allowing non-citizens to vote.

Bubblehead604's avatar

I suspect SCOTUS will fix that when they end birthright citizenship before the midterms. Unfortunately, the SAVE act does NOT require a proof of citizenship if a person is already registered, only if they are newly registering or are changing something (i.e., re-registering).

Beth M's avatar

It literally states several times within the body of the SAVE Act that the proposed measures will not take effect until 2027. So it doesn't matter if we rush it through, by its own wording it cannot and will not have any impact whatsoever on this years midterms.

"What does Hilary know? " With Frazzledrip under her belt, does anyone really believe she just sat around drinking pina coladas when there was seriously sick shit available for the asking? 5 will get you 10 that whatever Slick did pales in comparison to what she did.

Sunnydaze's avatar

My neighbor told me about frazzledrip and said never to watch it. She didn’t sleep for a week. She just cried. It grieves my soul that this woman/snake has been allowed to infest humanity for as long as she has. 😢

rolandttg's avatar

This is part of what I posted yesterday to my usual "forwards" cautioning them to understand where going down the Epstein rabbit hole will lead. I am omitting the other two examples I gave, our atrocities on the Germans after WWII, and what the Bolsheviks did to millions of Russian peasants. I copied Eliza Ayeres, editor of Sunnysjournal article saying she was not going there or writing about Epstein. As with your friend, Frazzledrip, and the tortures covered in those other two examples I gave, will forever haunt me.

"The third time I tried to avoid seeing another infamous sick torture was Frazzledrip, where Hillary Clinton and Huma Abadin tortured a young girl. Almost all the NYC cops who saw the video on Anthony Weiner's laptop (Huma's husband at the time) were suicided. Unfortunately, the scene popped up a few years later in a link on another article, and I saw enough to realize what it was before I closed the window.

I will not divulge any of these sick tortures, because all of them still haunt me, and you don't need that. All you need to know is these things not only happened, but they are still happening today. Done by people who are household names. Music , Hollywood, sports , media, finance. It is Not just politicians committing these atrocities.

This is what these 2 articles I linked are saying. Be careful before you decide to dive into the latest release of these Epstein files, because they contain similar truly sick things. You will never be able to unsee them , so keep that in mind from one who has seen far more than I wish I had. "

Sunnydaze's avatar

And that’s why I plan to heed my neighbors warning. I saw a couple pics off hunters laptop and decided I do not need those atrocities in my head. I will not look at any of them. I feel horrific for the ones who do have to look. It’s up to them to prosecute. I’m sorry for them and pray God protects their souls from what they have to endure. It’s evil in words we don’t have in the human language to describe. Pure evil in all its form. God is grieved beyond our understanding.

rolandttg's avatar

Smart.

A good friend who was reasonably awake went all the way when she went to the local Cracker Barrel ~6 years ago for lunch. Waiting in line and the man in front of him started talking to her. An older man, an army colonel . Out of the blue, he started talking to her about leading men into the DUMB's to rescue children. The horrors they had seen , and had to live with. He asked her to please tell others what is really going on, and the price people like he and his men were paying.

That was her IT moment for "holy crap. All the stuff rolandttg has been sending me is real".

Sunnydaze's avatar

Wow! That’s the first time I’ve heard of someone actually talking to someone who was part of the rescuing!!! It’s never been actually verified that it was happening. Wow. Just wow.

Susan Seas's avatar

Just truly beyond believable. But I’m telling you, the world is waking up. I heard some clips of the Grammys, which seriously is exposing it and I will not be watching the Super Bowl halftime show. I am actually praying that God will remove it. Change it something because I believe it’s going to … I don’t even know, but capital E Evile!

SD Scott's avatar

All the well dressed puppets who showed up to the Grammy show and mindlessly repeated their seven word mantra.

“No one is illegal on stolen land.”

I’m sure they could tell us where some missing children wound up.

Politico Phil's avatar

Same goes for the "consumption" of babies. Just hearing about it will give one nightmares. Our spirits were not created to tolerate such obscene horrors without damage.

Susan Seas's avatar

When I was told some things I couldn’t stop crying for months. My parents were so worried about me. I never thought things would be OK ever again. I started praying that God would protect my eyes and my ears from hearing anything I could not handle. I need to start that prayer up again. 😭

shibumi's avatar

Warning to normal people who don't know: be forewarned, Frazzledrip is a very dark conspiracy--let me correct that to "rabbit hole"-- that those who are sensitive might want to avoid researching.

rolandttg's avatar

But I take exception with "Conspiracy". Almost all of the NYC cops who saw the video have been suicided.

Willing Spirit's avatar

Thank you for the warning. I consider myself thick skinned when it comes to worldly matters, but the truly dark matters are too much for me.

Aegeandreams's avatar

If that truly happened, God will set his vengeance upon her and the other demon. And it will be a horror for the both of them.

Politico Phil's avatar

People scoff at me when I tell them that the US is the largest "consumer" of child trafficking on the planet. For anyone with a passing familiarity with the Prophets in the Old and New Testaments, we should understand that God holds entire nations responsible for allowing such grievous corruption and America is long overdue for such Judgement. God's people should understand that hard times are coming.

Aegeandreams's avatar

They are already here Phil but will get worse. That is why we must all be Team God and stay in the Light.

God doesn't seem to mind Israel's genocide much... no?

Aegeandreams's avatar

The genocide in Gaza is a sadness. Watched Tucker's interview with Young Turks Cenk Uygur and that was an eye opener. 2 hours but well worth it. As for God allowing all this, free will but if there is another reason, you will have to ask Him.

You really need to read Biglino's "The Naked Bible"

All the Christians here do. Don't let fear keep you from simple truths. It really is outstanding work.

I have not been affiliated with a religion since I was 13. Spent a good deal of my life as and agnostic / atheist . We are both very spiritual now, and have been for a decade of more. Practice gratitude every day. We both read "The Naked Bible". It was a real eye opener.

JJ's avatar

Good to hear. Yes, a BIG eye-opener...

I wish more pompous "christians" here would read it... Tammy Faye Janice and her like... likely pretty good people... but, IMO, deluded and astray.

Yes, rejecting corrupted mythologies (religions) does not mean one can't be spiritual...

The Clintons have been under oath many times before, the phrase is meaningless to them. As you mentioned, the best hope is that they will commit perjury and receive an appropriate sentence, which in their case would be life.
