I read American Thinker article and I think the main point is valid, but I think there are also many other motive and reasons, especially at the one percent and above level.
I also think the civil war going on in the United States. I think that we are also under attack from foreign powers, largely for reasons of the making by the corrupt ruler class. I also think that the White Hats are not genuinely white. And maybe more Grey Hats than White.
A buddy of mine has often commented that men like Gates, Soros and Schwab are just bitter old men who want to kill as many people as they can because they know that they are soon going to die. They just want to take as many as they can with them. Of course, these are not the 1%.
This particular rational strikes me as being somewhat shallow ... and possibly a grasping at straws in trying to make sense out of that which cannot be rendered sensible to understanding by all normal mental inclination.
People like Gates, Soros, Schwab actually believe in their agendas (depopulation, transhumanism, eugenics and so only). To them is a religion to achieve some good. And the 'good' to be obtained justifies the idea of the end justifying the means. These people, for whatever justification, believe that 'they' occupy the high ground ... and their material wealth and power seconds the motion.
Then there are the Useful Idiots. These poor people actually believe that they too occupy the high ground because someone told them so, sold them a seemingly believable bill of goods. The Useful idiots are controllable enablers for the elites due to deficits in their education and/or access to real facts.
The above can be even smart people in many ways, excepting that they are very flawed.
Gates, Soros, Schwab and people like them usually become bitter only once they hit a speed bump and are made impoverished and/or imprisoned for their criminal actions.
The difference between Good and Evil is the difference between Truth and Lies, between Law and Lawlessness.
I think you make a good stab at it. In the end it is about power and that is there definition of "good". They are all narcissistic personalities and even narcissists know that their 'good' is not good for anyone else. Here is to making them bitter!
If terrifying, one cannot say the human sphere is these days boring.
And as to good, who are the people we remember the most? In our personal lives? They invariably are people who have the done us a good deed when we were drowning with every expectation of 'going under'.
As to the bad, the evil ... I don't see how they derived any real pleasure out of life excepting that they serve a higher power (Lucifer) and/or a 'greater good' like depopulation. And do so with glee and satisfaction. And I suppose Great Evil thinks itself smarter than mere mortals, useless eaters and the wildly dissipated in astonishing entertainments.
I would if I could blot out the sun with my and eclipse from consciousness the dark days yet to come. And yet, it is much better to live in the light. It is better not trying to fool oneself and deal with things as they are.
I used to read Richard Russell and Bill Bonner regularly some many years ago. Russell is long gone and would not recognize 'the place' today which was once America. Bonner is my age of 75, although he was born one year earlier in 1948. Bonner has a net worth close to one billion. My net worth is a couple of imaginary skate boards, a few pencil erasers and some empty milk cartons. My only claim to fame is that I never had a car payment or house payment in my life and yet I have managed to live in a house. Nobody knows how I did this. And I haven't paid rent since I moved out of New York City in 1979 which was one of my most brilliant moves in life, a non-thinking stroke of amazing non-perspicuousness non-heard and non-spoken which occured on a whim, a taken fancy on one particular blue day. And proof that God looks after fools ... sometimes and sometimes amazingly well. Sadly, I don't have a ranch in the remote recesses of the Argentinian Andes. The good news is that I don't want one. Instead, I'd settle for a nice flat on Nevsky Prospect! That also won't happen because my entire wealth is invested in imaginary skate boards, a few pencil erasers I use to eradicate any mistakes I make in life, and lots and lots of empty milk cartons. The market in Saint Petersburg is current down on these items. Shucks!
Thanks for the prize link of the week, that of the lockdown dairies. And I downloaded the PDF which is sure to be Bill Bonner interesting.
I agree with Bonner on the prospects for the US. As a matter of fact, and speaking of Argentina, I totally believe that the Americans have out done the Perons in the classical economics of country wrecking. And I think the Americans must have been shooting for some kind of special economics award. Maybe sandpaper toilet? Like the Soviets had! You know! Something to brag about to the rest of the world.
It is always nice to hear from a sane person! Especially these days! And may God preserve!
LOL... I use to read Russell as well and always enjoyed Bonner. I did not realize he was worth that much. That reminds me. Originally I use to read The International Harry Shultz Letter. I assumed he exited this life a long time ago. I was shocked to learn he died on Feb 22, 2023. Wow.. How did he live 100 years?? Color me shocked. He basically lived through the whole cycle!
I remember Harry Shultz. I think I learned something about Swiss banking from him. My goodness. I too thought Harry was long gone. Well, there it is. Our world is melting aways like ice flows headed south. But Harry? Harry lived long enough to see it all. Even the crack up of America.
An article titled "some men want" underneath another piece titled "three ways" deserves this link that I first thought of when I saw the C&C email this morning:

When I think about how far our culture has regressed in the last 100 years, the contrast is amazing. I feel there is yet much more reckoning to come.

Oh my gosh, you have got to write a comment to Childer's coverage of Dawkins today.
I wish there was a "crying face" button, because I just can't heart this. But oh, how spot on that article is....
Oh, dear Lord, what a wonderful and sad, sad article. Such an on point description of where we sit today in grave danger of annihilation.

Just sayin'.
Come, Lord Jesus! No one can be trusted.
Excellent. Comments were all terrific…as we understand and focus on the things of life these days.
