It's probably not possible, given the 1st amendment, to outright ban it, but it is well within the authority of the IRS to disallow that as a legitimate business expense since the target audience generally cannot obtain those meds without the approval of a medical professional. It thus constitutes "lobbying" rather than advertising.

I’m not in favor of Trump banning selective news outlets when he says it’s based on wrong speech. He could have lied and achieved this, but he didn’t lie and that’s why he’ll be overturned. But, it’s the ‘process’ (fake news) that is highlighted, which serves his political aims.
I’m also not in favor of government (prior to Trump) pressuring social media companies to kick Trump and RFK Jr. off their platforms. Which they did. That’s how Truth Social was birthed. That violation of 1A was done in darkness, where ‘democracy’ dies.
Need to take a hard look at what the phrase “free press” really means, especially in this day and age. If we can’t differentiate between corporate-funded news outlets that are very politically partisan, and constantly lie, exaggerate, censor, misrepresent, and collude, vs. good, honest, journalism - then we might as well plant crabgrass and weeds on the front lawn, and forget about ever cutting it.

Saw on FB yesterday from Glenn Beck. He showed a clip of Obama complaining about Trump banning CNN from the WHPC and that HE (Obama) would have never done that. Beck goes onto show TV video of the Democrats, during Obama's reign, DOING JUST THAT with Fox News.
It is really astounding how politicians on both sides (dems more dramatically, of course) think that they can say whatever they want at the moment without someone looking up what they said when. I guess they figure we have poor enough short term memories that we won't remember and won't see the fact checkers postings...
And since they lack real convictions and just go where the wind blows, they likely don’t even remember what they said and did in the past. Thus they deny saying things we know they said. Thank God for the evidence we can so easily access now.
So. Who needs press conferences, anyway? They're a relatively new thing, historically, and my copy of the Constitution somehow doesn't mention them.

This is the 21st century. We don't need the intermediation of the media any more. There's no reason it can't be livestreamed to any American (or foreigner, for that matter) who cares to tune in. He could set up an official White House stream, or maybe just use TrumpTV.
Why should a CNN, MS NOW, or Political employee get a press conference - and don't forget the banquets, free plane rides, etc. that are typical WH correspondent perks - and other citizens don't?

Your comment makes me wonder... why does the press get this special access? Could I, as a regular citizen without a "press pass" get into these briefings? Why do these "journalists" have this special privilege? Could we argue that even if Trump or any other president lets all journalists attend, he is still carving out a special class of people who get that privilege? Well couldn't we also say then, if the government opens the doors to some citizens, it cannot then shut the door to other citizens"?? Why can't a person declare him/herself to be a journalist and ask for access too? Why do we have a special class who has the sole right to being present at these briefings? Yes we have freedom of the press enshrined in the Constitution but it doesn't say anything about who is allowed to be "the press" and that there should be gatekeepers for that status.

And now they are intent on vilifying his memory and it is based on flat out lies and purposeful misinterpretation and it is extreme. Hardly anyone in that cohort pushes back.

It's probably not possible, given the 1st amendment, to outright ban it, but it is well within the authority of the IRS to disallow that as a legitimate business expense since the target audience generally cannot obtain those meds without the approval of a medical professional. It thus constitutes "lobbying" rather than advertising.
The outright ban on cigarette advertising is a strong precedent to that 1A defense.
That ban was based on public health considerations: Big Tobacco wasn't telling their consumers the whole story. They probably could have gotten around the ban by ending every cigarette commercial with "Smoking causes cancer", but they didn't want to do that for obvious reasons.
