A good way to get people to decrease their travel voluntarily would be to frighten them into not flying. Isn’t restriction of movement one of the goals of anonymous ruling elites?

Yes - restriction of movement (including specifically air travel unless you are elite) is one of the goals!

Degrowth. Normalizing empty shelves, staycations, and lowered expectations. Not that I ever thought growth-for-growth's-(or-stockholders')-sake was healthy, but all those Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals plans are pure serfdom for the 99%.

I was just going to say; this is also something that's been going on since the 1960s at least, and "science" can do what it wants where it wants, however it wants, and we just have to suck it up and permit it. Nazi-Industrial-Progressive mayhem

the 70's were not so bad .... I was a rolling stone and wandered across some pretty nice places when they still felt free . Austin, and SF , and N. California . "Runnin down the road tryin to loosen my load " .... feeling free in my old Ford van . At the wheel, blanket over my knees, sleepin in the back with my dog . Seeing the US of A . Even then i could feel the disdain from authority for us "different" ones. Those who wanted to just see the world, not behind a desk or following orders .

Made my first trip to Asia ...... and Bali .... and India.... and Nepal . Even Switzerland haha .

Out and back a few times, to America . But the decision to get out was made . Somehow it just wasn't my place . And when i look at it now ( and for the last 30 odd years) ....

I sure feel smart to have gotten out . Well, partly lucky too, i guess .

And now....... the monster has crossed all borders . I won't be that surprised when it has completely taken over here as well .

Gilligan and the Castaways may have had the wrong idea about being "rescued". One looks at Sri Lanka, Greenland, Ireland, and other areas but sees malevolent forces of Globalism at work everywhere eroding culture humanity and freedom. Perhaps a few Amish and Nations families can hold out

I chose the "third world" nation ...... Thailand. Not one of the tourist ghettos, but rural places where people still pick things off roadside shrubs .

Globalism is spreading here as well, along with the once slim waistlines that came with a simple life . And they all have a phone somewhere on their body.

Still.......... its been a very good place to be when compared .

Like Kerouac’s “On The Road.”. A VW van was also a good ride. 😎

I also had one of those ! (it was my first) ....... The Ford was surprisingly tough . Put a hundred thousand on it... including a long Mexico trip . And my last van was a Dodge . "On the Road, indeed " .

what a long, strange trip its been . ( and stranger times now, than ever. )
