My son is attending college in Indiana in the Fall (we are from California). We were planning to fly but I feel so concerned and are thinking of doing a long road trip instead.

Currently, we have flights on a Boeing 738. Does anyone have any thoughts on this specific type of Boeing? Any thoughts on a fun route from California to Indiana for teen boys? : )

We recently went to Belize on Boeings and Airbus. I don’t like flying anymore but i still think in the grand scheme of scheme of things considering all the flights that take off daily, the odds are forever in your favor. That didn’t make the Hunger Games any less frightening but you also can’t be afraid to live.

Road trips are fantastic and I would imagine there would be a lot of incredible sights to see between Cali and Indiana. Can’t help you with a route as a lot would probably depend on where in California you’re starting from. If you’re not in a hurry, we tend to avoid the interstate whenever possible.

If you are driving from southern CA, you could drive old Route 66 to Missouri!

Otherwise maybe hit up old sites along the Oregon Trail or Trail of Tears routes. Find National Parks or Monuments along the way. AAA can help with route planning for road trips.

Go ahead and fly. Use to be you would be penalized heavily for changing the outbound portion of your itinerary. I worked for DL and not those weird cheep airlines like Spirit. I wouldn't fly on that one if they gave me the plane. lol

Then again, with a little research the Boeing 738 you describe is actually 737-800 and you can find quite a lot of issues that have occurred on 737s recently.
