Quality has never risen above what we imported from Taiwan and Japan in the 60’s when “made in Japan” was a punchline. The first Chinese trash I went ahead and bought were gas cans with awkward levers and cheap nuisance caps supposedly for environmental safety. They helped me slosh a lot of gasoline where it wasn't supposed to be. The new ones still do, and that’s all my Home Depot stocks. In the 60’s, we blamed Communism for the USSR's shoddy products and poor service. That might explain China, but what explains us?
