While Boeing has its problems, The Powerplants on these planes were manufactured by GE, P&W or Rolls Royce. The larger elephant in the room is three fold, 1. Quality at the Engine manufacturers, 2. Competence and training of Engine Airframe and powerplant mechanics at airlines and Engine Overhaul Shops and 3. Component Repair Shops. Covid/Jabs drove many senior experienced personnel to retirement or the grave. Shortage of adequate replacements also impacts quality. Engine issues are not all that unusual and in the past when an engine failed a thorough investigation was performed and the root cause was addressed whether it was design/human factors/performance breakdown. If a design issue is identified the FAA would issue an Airworthiness Directive mandating inspections/reduced life/replacement of components up to and including removal from service. I'm less concerned about the hardware than the humans in control of that hardware. Training, Attention to Detail, Honesty and ethics in performance of their jobs.
