I commuted an hour to and from work. I sang and prayed the christian music songs for him all the way there and back. I learned to praise in the middle of the mess.
Today he’s married and has two beautiful babies. He’s the most loyal and loving husband and father I’ve ever witnessed. Please don’t doubt the power of prayer while praising and believing for what God can do before seeing the outcome.
I spent a lot of time praying, too, just not on the way to work. I would start when I woke, then continue as I did stuff around the house, showered, got dressed. When I came home, I prayed while I was preparing dinner and going through my evening, and lots of prayer before bed. I just found that singing those songs on my way to work put me in a different frame of mind than even the prayer did and somehow got me through my day. It was really a revelation to me. Sometimes when I would be praying in the shower, a new "old" praise song would pop into my head that I hadn't thought about for decades, and so I would start singing in the shower.
Since my troubles have ceased, so has my time singing praise songs in the car. Part of me tells myself I just don't have the energy for it. But I believe I had less energy when things were so bad. I do pray on the way to work now and just enjoy the quiet, but maybe I should vary that with the praise songs. Either way, I called out to God and He showed up.
