When I was in high school I qualified for the Presidents Physical Fitness patch. It wasn’t a gimme, I had to do the timed run 3 times to qualify. Wish I still had it, no way I could do that now.
I never qualified, because I never learned how to throw a ball, and the only time that skill was ever needed was for the annual Presidential Physical Fitness test. It was biased against girls, imho.
And his uncle was leading the physical fitness effort way back then, too, with the Presidential Physical Fitness Program. Here's a 5-minute video about the push for youth fitness back then. It's remarkable in part because no one is obese. That's my cohort, and no one was; it's not just a cherry-picked video.
He's a good role model for making america healthy again.

Yes, my mom talks about how she always wanted to participate in sports growing up but there weren't many opportunities for girls.
