Happy first day of Spring, according to old Celtic calendars. :) My groundhog is not out today, but the opossum is (yes, both really live in my yard). He says it is spring.

I trust nothing from Harvard, and they truly have shamed themselves. I would not go to school there if it was free.

Our lazy groundhog didn't bother to emerge today; however, the snow is melting at an alarming rate here on the Keweenaw Peninsula and the neighborhood Great Horned Owl is hooting in the pre-dawn hours looking for some love.

Our annual sled dog race is looking dicey at this point.

Your post motivated me to find out where the Keweenaw Peninsula was. Wow!! Such beauty! I love driving vacations and the Peninsula is now on my short list. Someone posted a photo of a sign memorializing the record snowfall on of '78-79 of over 30 feet (and 54 year average snowfall over 20 feet!). I’ll definitely be planning an early summer trip in that case!

If you can, fall is definitely our most beautiful season (well, I love winter) but the first week of October, generally, is when the colors are the best.

We were 71 in southern NM yesterday which is pretty unusual, so I’m w/ Punxsutawney Phil for an early spring

Totally agree! When someone suggested it had a deeper spiritual message than most people realize, I laughed at first, and then started THINKING…hmmmmm! 🎯🎯🎯

I’m visiting in Az & it was 72 & beautiful yesterday. Plus today rain, which is always welcomed in the desert 🌵🥰

Yes, AZ native here & there’s nothing like the desert smell of rain-washed creosote 😊👃🏻🌵

Yes, I miss it terribly. We have some creosote here but either not enough or it’s different & doesn’t smell as strong

I’ve noticed a whole lot of road kill lately. The animals know....too bad they get squashed in the process!

Poor little guys. That always makes me sad. I have a lot of it, too, because of the nature preserve near the house.

Yes indeedy--becuz vultures get a real bad rap--when they're just doin what's right and good--just like those of us who refused to poison our own blood
