Thank you to all C&C who pray for our troops. I have a child in the military in Turkey. Your prayers make a difference.

Mine is across from Yemen. I am praying he is out of reach.

I will be adding ‘your child’ specifically to my prayer list by ‘name’ as we have been in your place with our son. Thank him for us.

I'm a military mom myself, though my son is currently safe with his ship in dry dock. My prayers are with all families, but especially mommas, whose precious children (we always see them as the little ones we swaddled and fed and rocked) are in harms way! God bless and keep our troops!

Renea Buchholz's avatar

Yes! Learning to let them be men , and not allowing our minds to dwell on scary scenarios. Psalms and refocusing with prayer. I myself am skilled at imagining things. 🙄🙄

Renea Buchholz's avatar

And so sorry. Adults would be a better word. There are women in that same position. And who have already died.

I have a kid in the military as well. Currently stateside because he and his wife just had a baby, but he repairs IT infrastructure so it won’t be long til he goes over there.

Hi Jeff! Just finishing watching your Mike Rowe podcast and reading yesterday's post. Have not missed a single post since early 2021 and tell everyone I can about C&C! My 14 year old daughter loves it when I read C&C to her EVERY morning over the past year or two. Her worldview training, and narrative/propaganda discernment skills are that much sharper because of it (not to mention her deep appreciation for and employment of the now famous Childerian wit!)

Just wanted to say thank you for all you do and all the optimism and encouragement and sarcasm you bring to all of our morning routines! My Americano tastes that much better with C&C!

Sal's avatar

Yes! Terrific reading! Thanks Jeff — and @K2ndD4TwiceD, what a great way to raise your daughter!

Juju's avatar

Oh I love this, that you are sharing it with your teen daughter! You’re right that it is a fabulous training tool. Good job, papa!

Good job!

Update on Cody Hudson:

I heard from Cody’s mom, Heather this morning.

Here is her text:

“I was able to get another high dose steroid in him about half an hour ago. This is only kicking the can down the road.

We are going to confer with the hematologist today (pray that is soon).

They don't have the expertise for this crisis. It is a silent crisis similar to the ventilator patients in the Covid hospitals- the O2 level looks normal while the body is attacking red blood cells and organ failure can take place.

The steroid keeps the inflammation or inflammatory process down and the immune response down just enough, but it is not a long term resolution.

The crisis is dire.”

C&Cers: Your fervent prayers are needed.

For anyone here not familiar with this story, here is my previous post:

More about attempts to get legislation in Florida to help victims like Cody at Www.codyslaw.org. right now they need all the prayer & financial support possible. Heather, Cody's mom, has one hand with a shield defending Cody & the other hand on a sword putting together data & research to help others & blow the whole vaccine scandal wide open. “As You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world. For their sake I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.”

One morning, possibly very soon, we will wake up to the news that the US is withdrawing all support for Ukraine. Garments, prepare to be rent, pearls clutched.

Susan Clack's avatar

And while we are at it, why don't we just repossess all the war materiel that we so generously heaped upon the Ukrainians? I'm sure our stockpiles of weapons are getting low after all these bombings, so I'm sure they still have a nice little stack over there in Ukraine that we can take back now.

Lori's avatar

Can't wait. Pull out of Nato and refuse to help Europe. Bingo.

Bard Joseph's avatar

Trump promised it in 24 hours.

Finally!

The Imaginary Hobgoblin's avatar

While he's pushing everyone aside like stale banana muffins, (or perhaps more accurately, revealed who ARE the stale banana muffins), I wish he would completely, totally, unequivocally, unabashedly, obliterate any ties to the CDC (Certified Drug Cartel). That woud be putting Americans first. We've experienced enough of their particular brand of help to last several generations. Not only are they stale, they're highly toxic.

SM's avatar

Imagine how quickly a federal judge would barge in, in full drag, to reverse any decision to disassemble the CDC.

Faster than a case of monkeypox spreading through Mamdani's Bacha bazi parties.

The Imaginary Hobgoblin's avatar

Yes, interrupting the cash flow of one the largest criminal cartels on the planet would only succeed in creating an uptick in missing persons and/or a high body counts.

Spot on! I’ve written about the Rothschilds and how they used their magical powers, literally and figuratively, to create this modern pharmakia dark magic empire: https://unorthodoxy.substack.com/p/rich-people-do-magic

It’s one of my older archived articles, but completely agree. The cdc only markets for the pharma

Jacquijacq's avatar

He kind of did that by appointing Kennedy and the COURTS are trying to delegitimize everything !!!

The Imaginary Hobgoblin's avatar

If I can believe what I’m reading, he’s taken steps to “limit, restructure, and oversee” the agency, not toss it into the Mariana Trench, which would be preferable.

mspring's avatar

Unfortunately there's the things you want to do, and the things you can do (or think you can do), and they seem to seldom be the same. But, i'm still impressed at the things Mr. Kennedy is doing so far.

Penny North's avatar

Think of this.

If the whole CDC vanished into thin air, what difference would it be? What would change? How would it affect anything?

Answer: nothing. It wouldn’t.

$4 dollars a gallon for gas, and getting us closer to EV cars...yes I'd say the war is blowing up in a good way for the globalists. It doesn't matter who is president, left or right, they all serve the same power - until we wake up and realize this, nothing will change.

dancingtime's avatar

Why would anyone switch to an EV for a hike in gas price? What? Electricity is produced by...lightening? Get real.

Susan Seas's avatar

I always like to remind people that several years ago, the same people adamant you drive an EV were trying to figure out how to limit your power consumption to your own house. Not to mention getting rid of clean energy producers, like all the dams across Washington state. Well How exactly would you charge up that vehicle with limited power usage?

Alan Devincentis's avatar

You couldn’t. And that’s the goal.

Dena's avatar

https://x.com/libsoftiktok/status/2034362802584895963?s=46. Thurston County in WA state is the first County to require / force a certain green home energy score in order to sell a home.

Roman S Shapoval's avatar

Thanks Dena - the "green" climate agenda is the overall goal of 2030, and where this is all headed. I wish more could see this plain fact.

Dena's avatar

Many do / it’s the idiots in charge that are clueless, deliberately I’d say.

Susan Clack's avatar

Thurston County, home of the State Legislature and a thousand Bolsheviks. And let's not forget the Evergreen State College (or have they tried to elevate its creds by calling it a University now? 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼) That's going to put a YUGE DAMPER on home sales, but the Bolsheviks don't care! 😡

Long Enough?'s avatar

Or simply an extended power outage.

MaryAnn's avatar

Ergo: 15 minute cities.

CStone's avatar

Exactly. EV’s don’t run off air.

Carol Brizzolara's avatar

I don’t want an EV because they are horrible for the environment and I don’t want the fire risk parked anywhere near my house or my job, either.

Roman S Shapoval's avatar

They want to make oil so expensive, so the only option we have is electric. Does that clarify?

Susan Seas's avatar

Running out to hoard oil. 😅

DaveL's avatar

Johnny-O's avatar

It sure is, because it is only going to increase, along with most everything else. TAW!

Roman S Shapoval's avatar

Thanks John..I appreciate the support as I often get flack here saying anything negative about Trump. This war is all about resources, like all the other ones - and the new resource isn't oil, it's data, which is literally and figuratively driven by electric vehicles, which are more camera than they are car.

Alan Devincentis's avatar

Have you been reading this? Do you not see the strategy being deployed here? He’s going to get china to protect their own oil. Or not. What do you think that gives trump, in his future meeting with xi? You don’t get world peace by being a smarmy teacher and talking nice. That doesn’t work, ever. And what he’s done for us is astounding. So yeah, you sound kinda like a reluctant tds victim.

Roman S Shapoval's avatar

Trump

or the bankers that run the entire global system?

I had never considered all the real time imagery these cars are "hoovering" up on a continuous basis!

Juju's avatar
2hEdited

Great. They have evidence of me picking my teeth. What ever will they do with it, I wonder ? 🤔😆

I don’t like Roman at all or his anti-Trump push at every turn. I’ve never hidden that fact. But I also haven’t blocked him because simply disagreeing with him as vehemently as I do is not a blockable offense. I think he is wrong far more often than he is right … BUT … I’ll give credit where credit is due: I bought a Tesla last fall (used of course, no Miss Money Bags here 😂,) and I JUST said to my husband last night that it was surreal to not have to worry about gas prices rising. Not at the levels they currently are. Obviously our trucks and distribution depend on gas and our economy takes the hit if they rise too high.

From my Tesla app I see that since February 1st, I have paid $23 in total to drive my car every day since then (locally) … and a $120 gas savings. Plus, I don’t have ANY of the maintenance costs a gasoline car has. Zilch. For me it’s the right kind of car.

But I don’t want to force this decision on everybody else. There’s really smart reasons to remain in a gas engine for some people and situations, however few - but some are really worthy at present. We have a lot of infrastructure issues and manufacturing of massive trucks that carry our goods cross country need gas right now. And they need to overcome the lack of charging stations and speed. But I have an electrician husband and he installed a home charger that we were reimbursed for by our city so it was free in the end, labor and materials. Not everybody could afford the additional cost of the work my husband did himself. I get that. I like that we have options. I don’t like the extreme of pushing everybody into the same choice.

But Roman misses the forest through the trees that Jeff laid out so eloquently about the leverage of resources to keep our nation safe, free of globalist meddling, and rich. You can spin it to look like past wars, but you would be stubbornly wearing blinders.

🌱Nard🙏's avatar

I don’t always agree with Roman, either. Bit he’s thoughtful, provocative, and polite. And THAT I can accommodate ;).

Jeffrey N. Gratton's avatar

Electric cars generate HUGE electromagnetic fields ... frying internal organs and highly toxic on the cellular level.

Why don't we hear about it?

Because just like the vaccine injured, nobody has looking. (no insiders, that is)

Juju's avatar

Interesting. I’ll have to research this.

Also, if everybody was in an EV elec costs might spike making the savings not as great as they presently are. For me I only pay 10¢ per kwh! But I bet it would be a LOT more if everybody was drawing on it??

Merry McIntyre's avatar

I’ve been trying to make that point. The radiation exposure is off the charts.

Craig Brown's avatar

"Free" from the city, as in your neighbors' taxes paid for it.

Juju's avatar

Well I paid over $15,000 of taxes last year and don’t use the corrupt gender-happy school district who takes 3/4 of my yearly taxes. I’m not getting ANYTHING in return for my taxes except maybe the chance a fireman or policeman will show up if I need them. Maybe.

So technically … I paid for it all myself through my own taxes and was refunded from that.

Janet's avatar

Every time I see you dumping doom, I think what would happen if democrats got back. Just one horrible result? We deal with what we have-2 (two) political parties. I think of more kids aka children who are groomed by left activists and frankly demons in pink hair and TDS politicians with ghastly twisted minds and smeared with hate faces who are bellowing that kids aka known as children, should have the right to be drugged and have their sexual organs removed. (As my only grandchild has). Don’t forget the threats and lies the parents who try and protect them are ground into capitulation with. . Who propose SANCTUARY STATES to send them. Indeed, offer transportation to those states by the underground devils in charge of this. Therapists BY LAW unable to treat the children’s mental illness properly when yours, Roman, would be treated appropriately. $4.00 a gallon? BOO Hoo. Apparently you don’t understand risk/reward. Larry Warren's avatar

Just for some perspective… in 2004 gas prices hit $4.00+ per gallon. Inflation adjusted to 2026 is $6.38/gal. Stop the whining about Americans “hurting” at $3.75. Cut consumption down by two Lattes a week and it’s covered.

Arnold C Fossen's avatar

You place way too much importance on a temporary condition that will disappear within 6 weeks.

C Rabbit's avatar

Jeff, while I certainly appreciate your lawyerly middle-of-the-road analysis and explanations of many things, your unflailing support for Trump’s prosecution of a war he used to feel so strongly about never starting, is quite cringey.

Mark1's avatar

It is a fact that Iran supports and funds terrorism around the world. Try to get it through your head how much more effective those terrorists would be when supplied with nuclear weapons.

william howard's avatar

except Iran started the war 47 years ago -Trump is just finishing it which also brings huge benefits to the world - the benefits are way more than the costs

C Rabbit's avatar

The last time Iran attacked another country, without being attacked first, was in 1856. I wonder if you would say "the benefits are way more than the costs” if your son or daughter were killed in the conflict.

Mark1's avatar

You mean “directly attacked”, don’t you? Proxies count in the real world.

C Rabbit's avatar

Yes, I mean directly attacked. It’s also accurate to say the United States is a proxy of Israel.

Lori's avatar

What would you say when Iran attacked us and screaming death to America killing sons and daughters. You are ridiculous you old fart.

william howard's avatar

let's see - you support the world's largest sponsor of terrorism - says more about you than them

Conservative Contrarian's avatar

What about terrorist the US government has supported for decades; is that more acceptable?

Johnny-O's avatar

Yes, our terrorists are freedom fighters! And our gulf area despot leaders really do mean well in the hearts!

Jacquijacq's avatar

So your answer is to do nothing????

Conservative Contrarian's avatar

No, I say we worry about our problems at home and not start problems thousands of miles from home. We do have a problem or two here, don't we?

Jacquijacq's avatar

We sure do. And among the many problems are Muslims who want to kill us. Let into our country but stupid Democrats - but that’s redundant

Mark1's avatar

Ah, the old “what-aboutism” argument. But in this case, I’ll agree. “Truth, Justice, and The American Way” is a thin veneer for what the US Empire has engaged in around the world, with very mixed results. Is it more acceptable than “Death to America”? To me, yes.

C Rabbit's avatar

Have you tried to “get it through your head” that if America didn’t support Israel like it does, perhaps Iran wouldn’t have a problem with America? Oh, wait! There is that matter of the CIA-sponsored overthrow of Iran’s government in 1953. Good point. Is it at all suspect that the overthrow of Iran’s democracy was just five years after Israel was created?

Dolce Far Niente's avatar

You are absolutely correct.

Without American support, Israel would have long ago ceased to exist and all the Jews in the ME would be dead.

If you are a Jewhater, this would be a fine solution for you. Or maybe "final solution" would be more accurate.

Conservative Contrarian's avatar

The old "they started it 47 years ago" chant is as pathetic as the "death to America" chant; very weak logic. They don't seem to care what happened prior to 47 years ago.

Nicki's avatar

It’s not possible that they could have nuclear weapons - Trump destroyed that possibility last summer.

Mark1's avatar

Gone today doesn’t mean gone forever. There’s still about a thousand pounds of near weapons grade enriched uranium hidden somewhere in Iran. It requires minimal further processing to get it where it needs to be for several bombs. Ask yourself why, if they had no further plans for nuclear weapons, they clung so tightly to a thousand pounds of uranium that they could have given up and avoided all of this. That uranium was so highly enriched that it was only good for one thing: bombs.

SHug's avatar

Yes, Russia very nicely offered to take it off their hands; they refused. Russia also offered to take it off the hands of the US; also refused.

Lisa P's avatar

1) We were told that we obliterated Iran's ability to make a nuclear weapon back in June. Were we lied to then or are we being lied to now?

2) 2008 called and they want their foreign policy back. Btw, it's the same foreign policy that gave us 8 years of Obama.

We care more about who is running our country, hopefully not Democrats, than who Israel's latest boogeyman is. When Iran has been topped, Turkey is next on their list.

Juju's avatar

Lisa you would have to remove ALL enriched uranium, even the civilian levels of 5-10% enriched, to completely take out their ability to make a bomb.

He took away their ability to make a nuclear bomb in only a few weeks (60% to 90% enriched takes 10-14 days,) or only a few months (going from 10-15% to 90%) but left them the lower levels for civilian needs. So he DID obliterate their ability at that time, but it requires diplomacy to ensure they don’t build back up. When left with 10-15% they AIWAYS could build back up within a year. Diplomacy failed. Again.

That’s why now they are trying to take it all away. They cannot be trusted.

He didn’t lie then or now. The media does.

Susie & Security's avatar

There is no negotiating with terrorists whose primary goal is to destroy entire nations that do not share their cruel ideologies. Iran has a long history of lying to the U.S. These tyrannical regimes live lavishly while their people starve. And the civilians living in poverty who actively disagree with the regime are shot in cold blood.

C Rabbit's avatar

"There is no negotiating with terrorists whose primary goal is to destroy entire nations that do not share their cruel ideologies.” So Israel, then?

Juju's avatar

So eerily close to what the democrats have in store for our own country

Lisa P's avatar

We obliterated their enrichment facilities. What part of that do you not understand?

Juju's avatar

They rebuilt it. They began to rebuild it almost the very next day and kept going right up until this year when they announced that they had enough for 11 bombs. It’s the “rebuilding” capability that had to be taken out this time.

It’s not as simplistic as you are trying to spin it 🙄

Lisa P's avatar

If what you are saying is true, then it was wrong for Trump to take a victory lap last June. I remember 2003, and that's what all of this is reminiscent of. Being lied into a war with intel from Israel, on behalf of Israel. All of the people who said at the time tearing up the JCPOA agreement was a mistake, they have been proven correct. Oh, and guess who was the biggest opponent of the JCPOA? Netanyahu.

Richard Whitney's avatar

What amazes me is how seamlessly the presidents carry out the foreign policy.

Cheney pushed very hard for war with Iran, but he failed. As I recall, he gave it up in 2005. The media admitted that Iran was not actually trying to build a bomb, and the propaganda stopped.

Then Obama comes in, in 2009, and starts it up again, seamlessly. All of a sudden Iran was building a bomb again!

And people went right along with it. Scary Iran!

And now Trump is actually bombing Iran, killing their children, and destroying their infrastructure, and people are going along with that.

The power of the media is amazing.

Such a weird account. Anybody notice that when Mr Richard Whitney posts a reply here today it has a very different flavor and feeling than when his wife does. She uses his account and ends her replies with Mrs. RW. From today alone his replies are in support of this President/administration, and then there is hers. I can’t block her rubbish because then I’d block him. I don’t want to do that.

This war is like so many of Trump’s efforts: fixing the problems that past presidents started or ignored. Iran started this war decades ago. Trump is just finishing it. All the influencers can pretend to know why, but none of them has a security clearance. I had one for 36 years and I can tell you, it changes reality.

Maureen Hanf's avatar

Indeed it does. My dad had a very minor one for his work on naval boats, it certainly made him look at the news differently.

Scott S.'s avatar

Major or minor, they all carry the implied trust of the American people. I'm sure your dad bore that responsibility well.

I just finished reading this Substack (link below) that sums up how this administration is changing the world for the better. Trump’s overall strategy to crush communism in the American hemisphere and dismantle anti-American terrorist states (and drug cartels!) will bring freedom to millions of oppressed people while making the world a safer place.

I’m OK with sacrificing a few dollars at the pump if it means destroying evil regimes that kill their own citizens, kill Americans, and want nothing short of wiping our nation and Israel off the map. At the same time I’m aware of and praying for those who are struggling to make ends meet.

Meanwhile, let’s pray for those folks, for the oppressed, for peace, and for oil price stabilization. It’s coming! God is on the side of Good in this fight.

Mr. Rabbit - Trump had for years tweeted about the Iran regime and that it must not be allowed to continue. He is ending it, not continuing to support global terror as did OBAMA.

This is a necessary operation, not a Bush type never ending war. The Bushes hate this.

C Rabbit's avatar

Wasn’t one of Trump's campaign promises that there would be no new wars?

Juju's avatar

Ugh so sick of this out of context quote. 🙄 He ALWAYS said he would bomb Iran if they left him no choice and diplomacy didn’t work. Every. Friggin. Rally. What does that mean in the same rally he states no new wars? Don’t hurt yourself …

Obviously Iran IS NOT NEW. It’s been going on endlessly. He’s trying to end all the senselessness of the past half century. He stopping the very things the neocons got rich off of.

His approach is the only thing “new”. Finally doing these military operations the way America always should have done things. Rarely! And never without clear reasons, and with the intention of winning and ending it quickly. Using quick precise military operations without it becoming a full fledged war when possible. And not taking over the policing/governing of another nation with our boots on the ground for indefinite periods. Endlessly.

But you guys wave this statement around as if it’s as simple as that and without ANY of the additional and important context.

Juju's avatar

That just proves my point. 🤣🤣🤣

He said “ideally” we wouldn’t have to use a military. People accused him of starting a war when he took out ISIS too. They equate ANY military action to a “war”.

It’s also taken out of context of whatever he said before and after that clip. Misleading.

He’s presenting what he wants for our nation in the future. You canNOT obtain that without STOPPING the current war with Iran, and stopping China and Russia from taking up our back yard, and stopping the control of the cartels, and stopping the globalists organizations that prevent our country from the vision he presented.

Trump is clearing the field. And masterfully.

Carolyn's avatar

So try expanding your mind and realize there is more to the story..

Juju's avatar

But they aren’t here for that. They have one job and one job only - to shake our confidence and optimism and try to get some of us to believe we are doomed with this administration, to pull support for Trump. Period.

"They’ve been beating us psychologically, making us look a bunch of fools. One bullet shot at one of our men or ships, and I’d do a number on Kharg Island. I’d go in and take it.” DJT, 1988

Ned B.'s avatar

Cringey indeed: Many people, myself included, believe that the USA entered this war with Iran at the insistence of Israel and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. Many Americans understand that our country’s Congress is fully under the control of AIPAC campaign contributions. Therefore, it seems to me that the name “Operation Epic Fury” is fully fitting, with the understanding that “epic” is spelled “AIPAC.”

https://nedb.substack.com/p/operation-aipac-fury

SHug's avatar

Nope. DJT has been talking about Iran since 1988

Scott S.'s avatar

Cringe if you like and believe what you will, but without clearance and need-to-know we’re all just guessing. There is no doubt that money (and blackmail) influences if not controls many in Congress, and you can’t serve both God and money. AIPAC is one of many sources.

Lisa P's avatar

I live in AL. I agree with everything you said except about money being the primary influence. When you see Ted Cruz, Huckabee, and others talking about Israel being "God's Chosen People", that is truly what they believe. They don't need to be paid to say it. Yes, if someone like MTG 'gets out of line', they would find a primary opponent and finance them. But look at the comments in the thread and Jeff's own comments on this topic. The vast majority of them aren't paid - they believe what they were taught in Sunday School. There is a huge generational divide on this topic, and the age demographic change will continue to get worse for Israel each year into the future. That's why they started this war, and will continue to squeeze every ounce of favor they can get out of the Trump admin.

Jeffrey N. Gratton's avatar

I heard some snide journalist asking Trump how many American deaths are acceptable in this war.

Wrong question

The correct question is how many FUTURE American lives are being saved by prosecuting this death-loving Iranian government

C Rabbit's avatar

Would you characterize Israel's internationally recognized genocide in Gaza as that of a death-loving government?

Juju's avatar

“…Trump’s prosecution of a war he used to feel so strongly about never starting…” You need to rewatch him from videos over the past 40+ years. You’ve got it all wrong.

C Rabbit's avatar

So the no new wars campaign promise was a lie?

Juju's avatar

Nope. No “forever” wars. No “senseless” wars. A new war implies we go to war with another country in its entirety (including the civilians) with no logic or reason, no sound plan for how to do it or how to get out of it. That’s what has always been done. That’s what he was referring to. Taking his “No new wars” statement out of context and left all on its own separate from anything else he said paints a false picture of what he really said and meant. That’s an MSM tactic.

He said if war was ever necessary it would NOT be done like in the past. What does that mean? Bombing Iran = war to the legacy media. Still it’s not the kind of war like Iraq. He always made it clear he’d bomb Iran if they left him no choice. He has said it for 40 years. He always said he’d try diplomacy first, but he was NOT opposed to using our military if necessary. He said that at EVERY rally. You all just chose to ignore it and parrot “no new wars”. Judgement of this war is highly premature and being unfairly based on what past presidents did.

Arnold C Fossen's avatar

Cringey? I find that your willingness to ignore the probability that Iran would eventually hit us with nuclear weapons is cringey. One nuclear weapon landing in yellowstone would destroy the USA. and all your progeny.

Lori's avatar

You and your statement are cringey. Move if you don't like it.

How do you find all this positive News/Information??? How do you manage to turn Anxiety into Hope, for us? ........... Thank you, for so doing. Bless you. ........ Be well....💗

Juju's avatar

When you peel away all the propaganda and fear-mongering, and lay out the facts, it tells a much more optimistic story.

Johnny-O's avatar

It's called mental gymnastics. I can't believe people are so naive that they are willing to believe that destroying global energy infrastructure is a good thing. Totally idiotic. Come back to this statement in a few months if you doubt it.

KateT's avatar

I'm sure research and connecting the dots feels like mental gymnastics compared to the trance of mainstream media.

Lisa P's avatar

I don't get it either. One of the reasons the 50s was such a prosperous time for the US is because European and Japanese manufacturing had been decimated, nearly obliterated during WW2. We were the worlds manufacturer for a short time. Could we be the world's oil/gas supplier, along with Russia? I don't know - I guess we'll see. I'm guessing this is what people are thinking...

Richard Whitney's avatar

The US was the main oil exporter in the world for decades, busily pumping out a precious resource and selling it off for the profit of the Seven Sisters.

But we hit peak oil, defined as when the easy to get stuff-the kind that spurts out when you dig a well, in the 70s, at which point the Congress passed a law forbidding exports. They wanted the rest of the oil and gas to go just to Americans.

When fracking started, and deep sea drilling, and mountain-top removal, all extreme extractions, Obama and the Congress of 2015 repealed the pro-American law, and started exporting again after 40 years.

Now they tell that we can do that forever. I don't know if they know they are lying or not, but I do know that our oil should be used for us, not sent overseas for Exxon profits.

Europe is the biggest welfare family on the planet. We gotta stop propping up those damn governments and those frilly people. If we're going to throw away time and money, we should do that on Americans on American soil.

I often think that if the Trump detractors read your articles, it would be like showing our hand, but reading the comments proves otherwise. TDS means thinking you're smarter than Trump, know more about what's going on than Trump, and understand the playing field better than Trump. No amount of analysis and no number of wins can sway them. They insist that everything is circling the drain and we are doomed because of the arrogance and ignorance of Trump. It would be funny if ... well, it is funny. Silly armchair presidents.

ERIKA LOPEZ's avatar

I read this in The Church Lady's voice from Dana carvy on SNL

Margot Wooster's avatar

Hmmmm, WHO could be behind it all? Could it be satan???

Did I use the same sort of phrasing? Now I need to go back and watch some clips. I remember lots of pregnant pauses in those rather than the almost run-on sentences I use. 🤔😜

Jeffrey N. Gratton's avatar

EXACTLY ... perfect definition of TDS

Jokes on them. They are doomed by virtue of their wickedness, immorality, hypocrisy, fraud, violence and their miserable personalities and morose attitudes coupled with severe TDS.
