Yahweh is the portion of my inheritance and my cup;

You support my lot.

The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;

Indeed, my inheritance is beautiful to me.

I will bless Yahweh who has counseled me;

Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night.

I have set Yahweh continually before me;

Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices;

My flesh also will dwell securely.

For You will not forsake my soul to Sheol;

You will not give Your Holy One over to see corruption.

You will make known to me the path of life;

In Your presence is fullness of joy;

In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

— Psalm 16:5-11 LSB

I used to inappropriately make a mental distinction about such passages as "You will not give Your Holy One over to see corruption."

I said to myself, "That applies to Messiah."

But it also applies to all whose lives are hidden in Christ Jesus!

Absolutely. Staying aware that we are the body of Christ is a powerful reminder to stand up straight, fly right, and praise Him for grace and renewal when we stumble.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High

will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about the Lord:

He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;

he is my God, and I trust him.

For he will rescue you from every trap

and protect you from deadly disease.

...

If you make the Lord your refuge,

if you make the Most High your shelter,

no evil will conquer you;

no plague will come near your home.

For he will order his angels

to protect you wherever you go.

They will hold you up with their hands

so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.

Psalm 91:1-3,9-12 (NLT)

I was thinking of this one to post last night, then this morning I see Jeff writing about Judge McAfee. I have an intense dislike of threats and coercion (even when not technically illegal), so I hope that the Judge has a faith that can do what he believes is right and trust things to work out.

Excellent. Keep us grounded in scripture Janice!

Whatever crazy is happening in the world, God knows and His plan is already known to Him. What we see happening in these unnecessary human sacrifice wars and the fake president person they show us does not matter. If we focused on God's Word, we would not fear and have power over evil.

In the following verses, note it says, we do not yet see everything subject to us AND says Jesus helps US and NOT the angels. What is subject to us that we do not yet see? Why does it say specifically, He helps us and NOT the angels? Who is NOT Abraham's decendants? Children of the devil, and who are they? There is so much that we do not know but we have clues. Reading and searching the scripture makes me feel better for sure.

Hebrews 2:8...14... and put everything under their feet.” In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. 9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone..... 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.
