LA County backtracks on masks; Florida goes after drags shows for kids; it's up to five Toronto areas docs dead from SADS in one week; a new mysterious leading cause of death in Alberta; and more...
Good morning, C&C; it’s Friday! Today’s roundup includes: LA County pre-ejects its mask mandate; Florida goes after drag shows for kids; now it’s five Toronto-area docs who died from SADS in one week; more sudden and unexpected athlete/celebrity deaths; a new leading cause of death in Alberta, and you’ll never guess what it is — literally; and Biden takes a hands-off approach to Taiwan.

🗞*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞
😷 Last week, LA County announced that it would re-impose its hated indoor mask mandate. Then LA County folks mobilized. So yesterday, LA County’s Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer abruptly RESCINDED the brand new mask mandate, citing “falling” covid cases. How quickly things change inside of a week here in Post Pandemia!
In one widely-shared video clip, a reporter pressed Health Director Ferrer on whether the covid data REALLY changed that fast, or maybe, was public outcry the REAL cause of the reversal? It went like this:
REPORTER: What percentage of your decision was based on the statistics you’ve cited, and what percentage was based on public reaction against universal indoor masking?
FERRER: Well, I’m not sure there’s a percentage here. We made our decision based on the data. <long pause> I think that’s, that’s probably the best answer.
Well that’s clear. She’s not sure there’s a percentage. She made the decision based on the data. The data that a lot of people were bonkers furious about the face diapers! Nice try.
We MUST cut masking off everywhere it pokes out its revolting little head. Masks are the government’s gateway drug to all the other mandates. So, great work LA County team, and keep it up people — it’s working.
🦸♂️ The State of Florida made international news yesterday, after the Department of Business and Professional Regulation sued a South Florida bar to revoke its liquor license. Normally, DBPR violations barely make local news. But this one is a smidge different.
The lawsuit alleges that the “R House” — a bar in Wynwood, Miami — has been putting on drag review shows since 2017. The DBPR got complaints about a TikTok video of an R House “show” that went viral earlier this month. The Daily Mail UK ran a story about the video, headlined “’These People Belong in Jail!’ Fury Erupts Over Video of Little Girl Being Led by Strutting Drag Queen With Exposed Breasts.”
You might have seen the clip. It’s pretty gross. There are kids all over the place. Ironically, the video was shared by a TikTok user who supported the spectacle; she captioned it, “children belong at drag shows!!!! children deserve to see fun & expression & freedom.”
Okay.
I’m not including any pictures of the show in this post; it’s a family blog, after all.
Some might argue that adults should be allowed to watch this nonsense if they want to; but that’s not what the lawsuit’s about. The complaint notes that the “drag brunch” menu includes a section for kids under 12:
In other words, when you bring kids into your little “show,” it’s not ONLY about freedom of expression or freedom of association any more.
The DBPR sprang into action. Two weeks ago, a DBPR undercover investigator attended the show. She saw little kids watching and interacting with adult males pretending to be unattractive but scantily-clad female strip club dancers. It’s seedy and gross, not especially fun, and includes awkward sexually suggestive dancing, amateur lap dances, and bad pole dancing, for just a few crass examples.
Last week, another DBPR investigator attended the tasteless “drag brunch,” and again saw children attending the show. The DBPR complaint describes an infelicitous encounter between a girl and a very troubled man:
> The child, who appeared to be between the ages of ten and twelve, was seen recoiling and turning away in her seat as a Brunch performer climbed on the back of the child’s bench, squatted, and gyrated a couple of feet above the child’s head.
The attached media shows overfed adults laughing merrily at the dancers and clapping like trained seals excitedly earning their next pickled herring.
The lawsuit includes four counts asking the court to revoke the bar’s liquor license, based on various statutes governing public nuisance, lewdness, obscenity, vulgarity and indecency. In normal times, reporters would ignore this kind of complaint. But in today’s climate — especially in Florida — this case is likely to become a legal battlefield about drag shows, which proponents are trying to transform into some kind of religious sacrament for trans people, like sacred Indian rain dancing or peyote seances or something.
But there’s a snag for corporate media. No matter how much they’d like to weaponize it, the story isn’t likely to get much coverage, not until they figure out how to cover it without immediately proving the case AGAINST drag shows with a single blurry photo. So far the new lawsuit has only been covered in conservative media, as far as I can tell. But I’m sure they’ll eventually figure out a way to make the story about “Governor DeSantis’ war on trans customs” or something.
Legally, it seems like the DBPR has got the R House Bar by the chicken nuggets. After all, if the state can regulate “Gentlemen’s Clubs,” why shouldn’t this kind of silliness qualify?
📈 NBC-4 New York ran a story yesterday headlined, “COVID Hospitalization Rate in NYC Soars 70% in Month, ICU Patient Tally Nearly Doubles.” Here we go again!
Now, tell me if I’m wrong, but isn’t New York one of the most heavily-mandated places in the country, which should also mean SAFEST and most covid-free, right? Their spiking covid hospitalizations are SO WEIRD. What could possibly explain it?
The article explains it by blaming the latest outbreak on VARIANTS. We’re up to BA.5 now. I must have missed 3 and 4! They’re coming at us awfully fast. Worse yet, according to NBC, BA.5 is even “more transmissible [and] more than four times as vaccine-evasive as its most vaccine-evasive predecessor.”
Yikes! If it keeps multiplying its transmissibility and vaccine-evasiveness, pretty soon covid will reach infinity and go back in time or create a black hole or something.
To be honest, I’m not really sure what “four times more vaccine-evasive” means, practically speaking, except that more and more jabbed people are now catching the disease. While the article carefully reminds readers, over and over, that unjabbed people are getting covid and being hospitalized at higher rates than jabbed (according to the “official” numbers), it also reported that “New York state’s breakthrough hospitalization rate has risen each of the last six weeks.”
See? It’s not good news for the jabs.
Probably to make the point that it’s not just NYC, the article then cites “a recent Italian review of COVID studies [that] found that boosters are less than 20% effective in preventing omicron-related infections after six months.” It’s waning.
Which is not too good for business. But don’t worry! According to NBC’s experts, boosters still offer “good protection,” at least for a couple months after each jab. So … the key is BOOSTERS. Keep getting jabbed! Boosters away! Never give up!
We should just call the jabs “vitamin S.”
💉 Another Toronto-area doctor died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday, making a total of FIVE healthy area docs in just over a week who keeled over without warning.
Earlier this week, I reported about Trillium Partners’ staff physicians Dr. Jakub Sawicki, Dr. Stephen McKenzie, and Dr. Lorne Segall, who all appeared to have died suddenly and unexpectedly last week. Then North York General Hospital’s Dr. Paul Hannam, 50, an Olympian, who accidentally kicked the SADS bucket while he was running during the same week.
I couldn’t find any official reports on several of the docs’ deaths. But now all four are, in fact, confirmed dead. Corporate media was just slow to report it, for some reason.
This week, Dr. Candace Nayman, 27, a resident doctor at McMaster Children Hospital in Hamilton, joined the unlucky group. She collapsed while swimming on Sunday; she was competing in a triathlon. She died yesterday.
In its report on the story, the Toronto Sun blandly noted, “the cause of death in Dr. Nayman’s case has not been released.” Oh. Who cares anyways?
That makes five out of five cases of doctors who died suddenly and unexpectedly with no released causes of death. And they don’t seem to have any interest in the CLUSTER. The headline of the Toronto Sun’s article only mentions Dr. Nayman; you have to read 2/3 of the way down the article to find out the other FOUR deaths.
I suppose this is a good time to be a professional killer. They aren’t looking into all these deaths very closely.
They don’t know the causes of death, but they are telling us ONE thing; the docs’ deaths might be a mystery but there is ONE thing they know FOR SURE. The Sun reported that in the first four cases, their hospitals made it clear: the docs’ deaths “were not related to the COVID-19 vaccine.”
Oh, okay! Glad we cleared that up. Do they expect us to believe it was a mass-suicide pact or something? And they somehow all contrived to die while exercising? Whatever.
I’m old enough to remember when they told us that jabbing doctors first was critically important to help keep the healthcare system from being overloaded. But if doctors keep dying at this rate, there won’t be much of a healthcare system left to support in Toronto. Just saying.
💉 British Olympic runner Max Burgin, with the worldwide fastest speed record over 800 meters, was forced to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games this week because of a sudden and unexpected blood clot in his leg. “It’s gutting to have now missed out on two major champs over a medical issue that came out of nowhere,” Burgin told reporters.
Out of nowhere. And it’s always strokes, blood clots, or heart attacks.
💉 “Happy Mondays” star Shaun Ryder discussed his younger brother Paul’s sudden and unexpected death with reporters this week. “Me mam goes in his room at 6am — and he was gone, rigor mortis had set in,” Ryder explained. “When the ambulance came they said it looked like it had been a blood clot or a brain tumour, but it’s just weird that he’d had that Covid booster the day before.”
“Just weird.”
I wonder if performers and athletes may have higher risk in the short term because of the physical stress?
💉 Guess what the leading cause of death in Alberta, Canada is, according to official figures?
No, silly, not the safe and effective jabs. That would be ludicrous. Not covid either. Not cancer, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, smoking, auto accidents, drug overdoses, shark attacks, chainsaw accidents or even choking after sniffing hair.
It is: “other ill-defined and unknown causes of mortality.” That’s the top category. By a WIDE margin.
Doctors and medical examiners’ inability to figure out what is killing people in Alberta just recently got much worse, for some reason. As you can see on the chart, there were only 522 “unknown” deaths in 2019, making the catchall category 10th on the list in that year. But by the end of 2020, it had jumped to 4th place, and by last year, it took first place, with a bullet, capturing almost twice as many deaths as those attributed to covid during the same period.
Until 2021, the top slot has always been held by ischemic heart disease and organic dementia, for the last 20 YEARS. Before 2019, Alberta never had enough “unknown” causes of death to even track them. Pathology is regressing.
The epidemic of unknown causes of death is also an epidemic of confusion. A mysterious new threat stalks hyper-jabbed Alberta; a silent killer that even Sherlock Holmes couldn’t track down, not even using his best bloodhound. What could it be? Who knows. And more importantly, who cares?
Oddly, there aren’t any fear-candy stories in corporate media about the dreadful “silent killer” that’s baffling the experts. I wonder why? Seems like it should be right up their alley.
🚀 ZeroHedge ran a story yesterday about a two-hour public call between White House resident Biden and Chinese President Xi, headlined “Biden & Xi Mulling In-Person Meeting, Which Could Come At G20.”
The two leaders spoke publicly on Thursday for two hours and 17 minutes, mostly about Taiwan. For his part, Xi complained bitterly about Taiwan, of course, while Biden tried to pacify him, whispering creepily that the United States does NOT back Taiwan independence. So.
Fox interviewed former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe and he described the Biden-Xi call like this:
> RATCLIFFE: According to the readout, Joe Biden told President Xi that he opposed any unilateral efforts to change the status quo. President Xi was more direct. He promised a fiery death. He promised that those that play with fire set themselves on fire and would perish.
Will Joe Biden let Chinese communists say where Americans can and can’t go in the world? Is Nancy Pelosi going to Taiwan “to show support” or not? Will China follow through on its threats or not?
Time will tell. Good thing our best and brightest are on the job.
Have a fabulous Friday! I’ll be back tomorrow for the weekend edition.

Ah yes.....the masks. You all might enjoy this:
In my quest to make a clean break from the freshly revealed Velociraptor’s that populate the Apex Predator Hospital where I had been going for years, I found a Doc with a short, albeit, interesting bio:
Dr. B________ likes to focus on preventive medicine, and tries to incorporate the positive benefits of healthy living in patient disease management. When discussing a patient’s needs and personal health goals, he reiterates the impact of making good lifestyle choices that promote healthy living. He is a strong believer in the effects of exercise, weight management and a proper diet on a patient’s overall well-being. Dr. B__________ can offer suggestions and motivations toward helping his patients achieve their goals, whether it is weight loss or medication management.
Well, well, well….who is this cheeky little non-conformist? After confirming that he didn't earn his medical degree from Hasbro, I went ahead and made an appointment, cautiously optimistic that it was not going to be in vain. So, I get to the office and the receptionist asks me if I have my own mask. I said: “I don’t wear masks.” I could just sense the air being sucked out of the room as the mood changed from moderately friendly to decidedly stinky. The waiting room was totally empty, nonetheless they rushed me off into a room and told me someone would be with me shortly. Ok, we're off to a rocky start. Enter wet blanket, part-time Etsy designer mask seamtress and resident know-it-all, Nurse Marsha “The Condescending.” She proceeds to school me on the efficacy of masks and that for future visits I MUST wear one for the safety of the other patients. The poor lass obviously had no idea with whom she was dealing with, but discretion being the better part of valor, I decided to NOT mop up the floor with her on this first visit simply stating that I would just wait outside until they were ready for me moving forward……SILENCE. Perfect. She wasn’t much in the mood for chatting after that. She took my vitals and skedaddled post-haste no doubt in fear that I might be carrying the dreaded pox, athlete’s foot or belly button lint. Okay, here’s the good part…..The Doc walks through the door sans mask, FDA approved CDC bubble-wrap or space helmet and comes over, introduces himself and shakes my hand! He checks me out, and is no doubt puzzled how someone in my obvious advanced state of atrophy is still able to stand, but I digress. I’ve been taking Protonix for years to control my acid reflux. This medical Doctors parting words, and I’m paraphrasing: “That sh** will ruin your esophagus, get off of it as soon as you can. We should do an endoscopy to see how much damage it’s caused.” We talked about it for a bit then he handed me a piece of paper with instructions on how to manage it naturally, shook my hand AGAIN and left. Go figure. I sense a possible disconnect between the Doc and the staff. If he keeps this up I'm sure it will be just a matter of time before he is summarily dispatched. I kinda like him.
I can now exhale as todays posting came thru. Thought maybe the authorities might have done something untoward with Jeff. Thankfully not!
