Same here--gone one week in every month for 2/3 of year--would like to raise chickens but the absence issue.....if I can get husband (builder of associated carpentry) on board would ask neighbors if willing to be part of project

They sell blocks of feed and if ur hubby is handy you can turn a 55 gallon drum into a waterer. Will def last a week😊

Thanks--he is much more than 'handy'---problem is his Forester w roof rack died, he has been unwilling to replace, and my little car cannot hold any 55 gal drums---have been looking into that piece for over a year. We do have a springhouse with water in it much of year--I have a submersible pump, can pump out water, but cannot pump it into anything without a barrel---which requires the vehicle to transport it (can get such barrels cheap 500 miles north (location for being away each month) , but hideously $$$ where I 'live' so renting a $19/hour truck from Lowes isn't realistic

Re-reading your post I realize what you are actually telling me--thank you very much! I may come back to you for more info (I hope I will have reason to!)
