We lived in shoreline CT during the 1980s and went to Coney a few times. By then, it had deteriorated - both physically and in terms of who hung around there. The impression was of visiting an amusement park in a nightmare. The hot dog contest at Nathan's Famous is alive and well: cititour.com/NYC_Events…

Sorry to hear that Coney is degraded - as is so much of our country now - we're pumping $$'s we do not HAVE into foreign conflicts and have NO WORRIES about the destruction of our roads, bridges and waterways! We have totally INEPT 'leadership' in the Federal sector!!
Not for long. I hear that Nathan is a Jew ( gasp)!
As is probably 45% of NYC and surrounding areas!! How ridiculous to "coddle" these "staged Hama protests" - they (the 'powers that be') are setting up our country for some very nasty 'events' this summer. I feel it in my heart and mind!!
