I've only read/heard Yuval Noah Harari a bit, over the last few years, but I'm never sure if he's being simply descriptive or if he is being prescriptive. If you read the quote Phil wrote, it sounds descriptive, and indeed he could be correct. When does he say these things *should* happen? It's the difference between "the 'is'" and "the 'ought.' Perhaps he simply describes the 'is,' and the WEF wants it to be what happens, so they invite him to speak at their events? I know little about him, so I could have missed much. Mail-in ballots are already a given in some/many States. Pardon my repetition, but in CA you can just print your own ballots. You know, because the ādisabledā donāt get mail anymore.
Yes, you can print your own ballot in CA. But you need to mail it in with an affidavit you have signed, with your birthdate, etc. They supposedly check your signature against the signature in your file before they accept it. Then it needs to be duplicated onto a normal ballot compatible with the scanner- certainly a risk. Iāve used this option twice- when my husband didnāt receive his mail ballot and was too sick to vote in person. Both times it was supposedly counted.

As a Christian I see Two covenants. The first is described in the Old Testament...and the second in the New.
A Christian lives under the new covenant ā and is released from the old covenant through the work of Jesus. He established the new covenant by His blood.
The old covenant is about laws ā the new is about grace. The old outlines what man must do ā the new is about what God has done in Christ.
In the old covenant enemies are destroyed ā in the new they are forgiven. In the old covenant itās about requirements ā in the new itās about requirements that have been met by Jesus.
Soā¦is the old covenant useful? Yes. It expresses the need for grace. And once grace is receivedā¦the old covenant is helpful and instructive.
Live under grace ā but learn the lessons of the old covenant.

Dad, I can make no sense out of this. Grace is a word describing His disposition towards sinners, us. It is His favor to us, which we by no means merit ā nor can we. Ever. How does this not sustain us in hard times? How is this contrary to his word, which I do know and revere, or to repentance or to faith in Christ alone?
There is indeed such a thing as shallow theology, leading to an unsustaining faith, but the teaching of the fullness of His grace is lacking in those ā as is the fullness of the gospel and Biblical understanding.
But how does reliance on His Grace, Love and Mercy render one a ācotton candyā Christian?

Somehow and long ago, I got a hold of Christianity and Liberalism by J. Gresham Machen. This must have been somewhere around 2008. I noted the date of writing of the book. It was 1923 and therefore still fairly early in the 20th century. Machen, at time, made good sense to me, and I could begin to see a bit of from whence came some of the 'cognitive' confusion which was then puzzling me. Later on, Howard Phillips, a rather well-know political figure and then Chairman of the Constitution Party of Virginia placed a copy of the seminal The Institutes of Biblical Law, Volume I by R. J. Rushdoony into my hands. This blew the lid of of everything. And I instantly could see why the American pastorate (for one) could not defend itself, not even from a creeping snail.

The technique has been refined in other countries. Instead of a government order with a paper trail the bank can just freeze an account for "suspicion of money laundering" or some other nebulous infraction. It's not a government action so there is no due-process requirement, similar to how the US government influenced social media companies.
The way it happens is the bank freezes the account due to suspicious activity and the law doesn't permit them to tell the victim why the account was frozen, you can even blame it on an algorithm. Then the victim can try and find a lawyer and sue which takes time and money - money you can't spend since your account is frozen - and then before the trial the bank can unfreeze the account and later terminate the client relationship since you don't have a right to a bank account...

I have tried to start a dialogue with several VA providers about the shots. Their eyes glaze over and they seem to be in some sort of stupor after drinking the Fauci Kool-Aid.

Very interesting thoughts on the Supreme Court and immunity. These last few years have really driven home a point for me. A system - no matter how well-designed - is only as good as the people running it. I think we have a people problem. I've only read/heard Yuval Noah Harari a bit, over the last few years, but I'm never sure if he's being simply descriptive or if he is being prescriptive. If you read the quote Phil wrote, it sounds descriptive, and indeed he could be correct. When does he say these things *should* happen? It's the difference between "the 'is'" and "the 'ought.' Perhaps he simply describes the 'is,' and the WEF wants it to be what happens, so they invite him to speak at their events? I know little about him, so I could have missed much. Edited to add - I've just looked at reviews of his book Homo Deus because of Verve's comment. He does sound like a firm atheist, but so were many people before they weren't, so pray for him. Yes, you can print your own ballot in CA. But you need to mail it in with an affidavit you have signed, with your birthdate, etc. They supposedly check your signature against the signature in your file before they accept it. Then it needs to be duplicated onto a normal ballot compatible with the scanner- certainly a risk. Iāve used this option twice- when my husband didnāt receive his mail ballot and was too sick to vote in person. Both times it was supposedly counted.

As a Christian I see Two covenants. The first is described in the Old Testament...and the second in the New.
A Christian lives under the new covenant ā and is released from the old covenant through the work of Jesus. He established the new covenant by His blood.
The old covenant is about laws ā the new is about grace. The old outlines what man must do ā the new is about what God has done in Christ.
In the old covenant enemies are destroyed ā in the new they are forgiven. In the old covenant itās about requirements ā in the new itās about requirements that have been met by Jesus.
Soā¦is the old covenant useful? Yes. It expresses the need for grace. And once grace is receivedā¦the old covenant is helpful and instructive.
Live under grace ā but learn the lessons of the old covenant.

Read āThe Pilgrims Progressā for an idea of what I speak. Itās even on Audible.
Dad, I can make no sense out of this. Grace is a word describing His disposition towards sinners, us. It is His favor to us, which we by no means merit ā nor can we. Ever. How does this not sustain us in hard times? How is this contrary to his word, which I do know and revere, or to repentance or to faith in Christ alone?
There is indeed such a thing as shallow theology, leading to an unsustaining faith, but the teaching of the fullness of His grace is lacking in those ā as is the fullness of the gospel and Biblical understanding.
But how does reliance on His Grace, Love and Mercy render one a ācotton candyā Christian?

Long ago, as a believer in cause and effect, I figured that there must be something very wrong with the churches because there must be a reason why the churches could not and/or would not defend themselves against the Evil arrayed against them. In short, the Western Pastorate (the most of them) seemed long on babble going nowhere, but short on effective answers.
Somehow and long ago, I got a hold of Christianity and Liberalism by J. Gresham Machen. This must have been somewhere around 2008. I noted the date of writing of the book. It was 1923 and therefore still fairly early in the 20th century. Machen, at time, made good sense to me, and I could begin to see a bit of from whence came some of the 'cognitive' confusion which was then puzzling me. Later on, Howard Phillips, a rather well-know political figure and then Chairman of the Constitution Party of Virginia placed a copy of the seminal The Institutes of Biblical Law, Volume I by R. J. Rushdoony into my hands. This blew the lid of of everything. And I instantly could see why the American pastorate (for one) could not defend itself, not even from a creeping snail.
We have all been lied about everything. There is literally no area life in America free from lying, stealing, cheating ... and in many cases, even murder. There is some truth in what you stated. But as usual, it is what is left out, obscured and hidden under the rubble of a collapsing civilization which does the damage. There is, of course, Hosea 4:6, but there is also Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. And that begs the question, what should we fear? Of this, submit that one will find no answers to such things in the Fallen Churches of the West.

The technique has been refined in other countries. Instead of a government order with a paper trail the bank can just freeze an account for "suspicion of money laundering" or some other nebulous infraction. It's not a government action so there is no due-process requirement, similar to how the US government influenced social media companies.
The way it happens is the bank freezes the account due to suspicious activity and the law doesn't permit them to tell the victim why the account was frozen, you can even blame it on an algorithm. Then the victim can try and find a lawyer and sue which takes time and money - money you can't spend since your account is frozen - and then before the trial the bank can unfreeze the account and later terminate the client relationship since you don't have a right to a bank account...

You probably have seen some of my earlier posts where I write that some veterans are not operating at 100% of their cognitive abilities because of PTSD, traumatic brain injury, depression, anxiety, military sexual trauma.
What worries me is that they will listen to their doctor, or some mini-Mengele VA employee, implying or inferring that they could lose their benefits if they refuse to take the shot. And they may watch MSM and not seek out alternative media for a different opinion.
But the problem is much bigger. The VA, a governmental organization, is totally ignoring the harms caused by the covid shots. It is as if VAERS doesn't exist in their universe. Why is no one asking the tough questions? Especially after the VA had safety signals triggered 6 months after the shot roll out for myocarditis after the 1st Pfizer shot. A VA employee by the name of Fran Cunningham emailed the CDC with data.
VA never told veterans or the VA employees they forced to take the covid shot under the federal government worker mandate.
They are supposed to provide us with good healthcare to treat the injuries and illnesses we incurred while on active duty. How can we trust them about anything now?
I have tried to start a dialogue with several VA providers about the shots. Their eyes glaze over and they seem to be in some sort of stupor after drinking the Fauci Kool-Aid.
It is disheartening.
They have destroyed our military and it really angers me. I'm sure you know the story of Pete Chambers, who was vaccine injured while in the military. He was put in charge of the vaccine program near the border. By that time, he had learned the shots were dangerous and he was actually informing soldiers of risks versus benefits. He was told by a superior officer that he had to stop, but he replied that he would not abide by the unlawful order. If course, he's now out.
Some people just will not hear the truth. My husband and I met several of his former co-workers for breakfast yesterday. One of them asked why were wearing paperclips. I gave him and the other three my handout which explains why. One of the four was very interested and we had a good discussion. The other three sat there silently.

I never trusted western medicine and hate it all, but the scamdemic really turned me off. I will be grateful for their help in fixing a broken bone, but other than that, they are mostly useless. Very interesting thoughts on the Supreme Court and immunity. These last few years have really driven home a point for me. A system - no matter how well-designed - is only as good as the people running it. I think we have a people problem. If even the Supreme Court cannot have a discussion that matches what one can find in a Substack article, it doesn't bode well for the other institutions. I may be misremembering, but I think I remember more of our leaders actually leading in the past, as opposed to asking 1st year college student questions and generally acting like uninformed, petulant teenagers.
Also, we donāt have a gun problem, we have a people problem.
Most of our "gun problem" is really a psychiatric medication problem and a culture problem with a particular culture that is tied to urban environments. Of course if we had better people running our system, these problems would be addressed. Instead of addressing them, they amplify the problems.
