I have never watched that show, nor many others. Not even in reruns. Because after work I have always run or played basketball or tennis or lifted weights. Then, I read until I fall asleep and dream about fighting battles, winning wars, and breaking hearts. Egads!

Nope, if vets were around back then, I would have been Dr. Doolittle taking care of Arthur's horses! If vets did not exist at that time, then a blacksmith or keeper of his livestock which suits me just fine as I love animals!

Back in the days of yore, everyone probably knew how to take care of critters. "Not I," said this duck. I was hatched and raised in urban areas. Animals are great, though. My Mackerel Tabby would agree.

That is very true as they were closely involved with animal husbandry and learned as time went on. Send my best greetings to your Tabby. Cats are interesting companions knowing how to keep their humans in line, that is for sure.

Indeed. My Gabby yells at me all the time, except when he is sleeping. Do you have any pets? I can barely read your messages right now. It's dark in this venue. And the band is too loud. (A friend's wife is the lead singer.)
