It's not ignorance, they refuse to see the truth because their livelihood depends on it. If you being harmed is the price of their "ignorance" than that is a cost they are willing to pay.

I first thought the level of lies and cowardice today was unlike anything I've seen in my life, but am now realizing it's always been there. What's different is that now I'm awake.

How are today's lies different from that of the government and military brass during Vietnam? 58,000 American soldiers were killed and it only stopped because the population finally woke up and revolted. What about Catholic bishops knowingly transferring known homosexual child predators to unsuspecting parishes? These despicable men are supposedly acting in stead of the Apostles yet they engaged in the most reprehensible form of ass-covering possible. That only stopped (assuming it actually did stop which no one knows for sure) once it became clear the church would be financially ruined and these evil men would go to prison.

We live in the age of lies unfortunately, it's a rude awakening to realize you cannot trust anything you have been told. Even worse, most of what you have been told is meant to emotionally manipulate you to serve someone else's interests. Serve the Lord, your family, and your people. Anyone who says you must behave a certain way "for your own good" or "for the good of society" who isn't in your trusted circle is almost certainly lying. It's actually for their own good or that of their paymasters.
