In the case of Taiwan, China has an interesting relationship business-wise with Taiwan. They rely on each other for materials and products, and are somewhat symbiotic. In the case of the US military using Taiwan as a weapons depot, there is really no reason to invade. China already demonstrated during the Pelosi's visit that they can simply surround and blockade them until they replace their bureaucrats with more reasonable people.
