I have been following the cat ever since they got banned on Twitter in 2020, posts were fire on the BS data getting shoveled out, then found again on Substack. But all this time never have been able to figure out if it's a man or a woman. If they did a podcast together perhaps I could find out! Not that it matters, but it is one of those things I have never been able to figure out. Do you know?
Oh yes, I forgot about Spanish language having M and F versions, good point. But funny you say the writing comes off as male, as I have struggled to detect a tone, and was leaning towards female. But then in a post did mention 'a good friend's wife' but then I was like, well it could be a lesbian couple...LOL. It does drive me nuts not knowing, so when I read I look for clues, but not a very good sleuth, obviously. Know 'he' is from Puerto Rico, but does not live there now, mentioned 'going back' after the hurricane. And wicked smart. Some posts go over my head on the statistical analysis.
That would be awesome if C&C and El Gato teamed up for a podcast!

No knowledge, but I have been operating under the assumption he's a dude.
1. It's EL gato, not LA gato (I know cat is masculine in spanish, but still it would be odd to adopt a masculine penname if one were female
2. He comes off as male in his writing, in tone and emotional character.
3. His "gatopals" are mostly male.
I could be wrong, but I cannot read someone annonymous regularly without assuming a gender. It would drive me nuts if I didn't have a strong opinion.
