In a nutshell, U.S. military planners envision scenarios where a nuclear exchange is 'winnable':
"Developing nuclear contingency plans sends an important signal to adversaries and enemies that the US has the capability and willingness to employ nuclear weapons to defend itself and its allies and partners. The US is prepared to take actions to restore strategic stability, limit damage, and/or terminate the conflict on the best achievable terms for the US, its allies, and partners." @ III-1.
People fail to understand that a war with Russia will not be confined to Eastern Europe. As you pointed out, such a war would be asymmetric, and go beyond a 'military' exchange. Cyber-attacks, attacks on economic infrastructure, the involvement of countries like China, Iran, and potentially India, Pakistan, North Korea and so on. It's horrifying to contemplate.
Mind boggling that anyone could even think that a "nuclear war is winnable." EVERYONE loses. Arrogance to the nth degree and we will all be collateral damage. Funny, so will they but I guess they're just too important to die.
Do you realize the exent of the underground CITIES that have been built (with US taxpayer dollars) over the last 50+ years? It is truly amazing, that that's just the parts that are public knowledge (or leaked info).
These underground cities (with extensive tunnels connecting them) are built with the sole purpose of retaining "Continuity of Government" (COG), ie, the people in government and their lackeys are protected and will survive a (inter)national catastrophe such as a nuclear attack. The ones that have started and coordinated the upcoming war will be safely tucked underground. Kinda the reverse of Noah's Ark. (Plus, I've almost gotten to the point I don't believe they are totally human, so probably not affected by radiation. 🤷♀️)
Apparently the WAR types first dug under the Appalachian Montana, then the Adirondacks, and finally the Rockies. There is supposed to be a large one under Denver Airport, more connected to Los Vegas, and a whole host of locations today.
Photos have come out of huge drills larger than freight trains, nuclear powered, (supposedly) and unbelievable tunnels.
I think all that missing money Rumsfeld was talking about from the Pentagon might be explained.....
Lol, true! But, here's the deeper thought: what if, as Nation States, and as People, we all worked to move towards "burying the war club," underneath the "peace tree?"
The Iroquois Confederacy went from all out destructive war mode to a peaceful society that only engaged in war defensively. Peace spread across the entire North Eastern 1/4th of what became the U.S.A. and parts of Canada. What those intelligent and wise peoples did, we can too.
Endless war is neither necessary or sane. Our culture is much, much too violent. We endlessly watch violence. Promote aggression. Incarcerate millions, and spend vastly too much of our societal resources, human and financial, on how to destroy other human beings and Mother Earth.
It's endlessly destructive and will eventually "end" us, if we cannot grasp that this addiction to war, aggression and endless, mindless competition is inherently a dead end road.
Men need Women, and a Woman's perspective.
And in a whole and healthy woman War's insanity is obvious. Just as it is to a wise and balanced Man.
Jesus preached peace. As did Buddha and all our enlightened teachers. It's about time we took that message seriously, and even though you cannot get from here to there overnight, we still need to arrive at the destination.

Deep Underground Military Bases.

Men of WAR are basically clinically insane, imho, today, yesterday, tomorrow.
One day the not insane men and women of Earth may finally take the.power away from them.
(Hopefully SOON!)
Without Men of war you would do your fighting with spoons and butter knives.
Not a good proposition.

Benjamin is trolling,
he’s not interested in deeper thoughts.
He’s busy with his one two liner comments to provoke agitation among primarily a good wholesome group.
